It can be read both ways if you consider how Jagex has posted statistics like this, with a similar demeanor, for other things that were clearly botted lmao
I play osrs so vorkath is a pet in that game and I thought the same things as you, one mad lad has 30% of the pet drops in game haha. You aren't alone!
There's a Vorkath pet in RS3 as well (called Vorki). And people love to destroy boss pets instead of claiming them so they can broadcast higher and higher kill counts. So OP's assumption isn't even that crazy.
Also, given how hated the RS3 Vorkath fight is, it's not even that crazy to think one person would have 30% of the kc in the entire game.
Apparently if you destroy the pet before claiming it you can get a drop again at say... 35k kc, if you then claim it', you get the broadcast and it appears to others like it's your first petz when in reality you've destroyed 100 of them already
I haven't done the quest to know you can pet him. It can read like it's the boss pet if you don't know that lol, I thought jagex was like "Wow, you must really like Vorkath"
Some statistics for fun:
Let's say that a player actually wants to get 3400 Vorkath boss pets. Let's ignore the kills required to build the pet thresholds, as they are negligible. The player will need to kill HM Vorkath 340,000 times on average.
Assuming the player can consistently kill 20 HM Vorkath per hour, and assuming the player plays 8 hours per day (doing nothing but killing HM Vorkath non-stop) - it will take 2125 days, or \~5.8 years.
You need 3,600 vorkath kills in order to reach the max threshold, which is 1/100 for hard mode. When you go for 340,000 kills, the initial 3,600 kills are negligible in comparison.
Fine. If we take the initial 3600 kills into account, a player is expected to get 18 pets on average during those kills (as opposed to 36 pets on max threshold). Then the player would need another 338,200 kills to get the rest of the pets. We get a total of 341,600 kills, instead of the 340k I said earlier.
Fun fact there was a glitch pre-release where under certain circumstances pet would cause you to attack and immediately kill Vorkath. Almost wish they left it just to have the occasional traumatic moment lol.
Yeah he’s focus of the fort Forinthry narrative. Goes more into the experimentation history of him, the exact how on how they tried to made him more violent, and this latest quest was about helping him achieve long deserved peace. He’s also a boss fight but as a companion to another bosss, and during the fight he is both enemy and ally till eventually he runs away entirely.
It's not the boss pet. It's clicking vorkath to pet him after the quest...
Oh. My. God. That makes so much more sense lmao
Tbh it took me a second as well before I realized what it meant.
It can be read both ways if you consider how Jagex has posted statistics like this, with a similar demeanor, for other things that were clearly botted lmao
Honestly I think it's jagex doing a little troll cause I thought the same aha.
We will not bring out the “ 200m players“ 😝
XD
I had the exact same confusion
Wait you can pet Vorkath in RS3!?!?!!. I always wanted to pet him cause I feel bad for the dragon (the Dragonkin named him failure for Guthix's sake).
He needs a pet he can pet 🤷🏻♂️
I think Necromancy added a storyline that ends his undeath and ends with him at peace in a city in the Underworld, where you can pet him.
Lmao i was like this dude needs serious help. Now that i understand what that post ment i think he still needs some help but not as dire anymore.
This is great 😂😂😂
Jagex sanctioned autoclicker
Don't delete this now.
I'm not going to delete it. My bad, but this is really funny
I assumed the exact same thing, and I was in the stats meeting where this originated so I have no excuse.
This makes this even better lmao
Sorry to hijack this wholesome post, but are there any plans to rework the vorkath/zemourgal boss fight?
No rework. Only pets.
*heavy breathing* -guy in OP's post, probably
I had a laugh reading this thank you Its referring to the number of times people pet vorkath's ghost after the quest, not the number of boss pet drops
Yeah I haven't done the quest to know that, this is really funny lol
I play osrs so vorkath is a pet in that game and I thought the same things as you, one mad lad has 30% of the pet drops in game haha. You aren't alone!

Yeah lol. Now that I think about it, is it even possible to receive more than one pet drop in rs3?
Not after claiming/inspecting
Apparently if you destroy the pet before claiming it you can get a drop again at say... 35k kc, if you then claim it', you get the broadcast and it appears to others like it's your first petz when in reality you've destroyed 100 of them already
The broadcast comes on the drop, so you can get the broadcast over and over as long as you keep destroying it
Osrs player here. I was so confused lol
That 3400 is me.
Don't you think the other dragons will be jealous?
Listen, if they let me pet the other Dragons, you bet your Blood Dyes I will.
Please leave this up, it really made my day op. :)
Dw, I won't lmao. Have a good day!
same.. genuine smile at the confusion lol
Lol it's pet as in interacting with the ghost version in Um, not the pet drops from kills. Look at the caption
I haven't done the quest to know you can pet him. It can read like it's the boss pet if you don't know that lol, I thought jagex was like "Wow, you must really like Vorkath"
Just realized he has a right-click 'Pet' option. I haven't been part of this statistic :(
Now's your chance to become a statistic! ^((wait that came out wrong))
hall of fame scape post
Can I pet dat daawwg.

Yeah, I was like, there is no way that is possible. Good to know lmao
> ignore the kills required to build the pet thresholds, as they are negligible pet threshholds aren't negligible when going for 3400 pets...

3600 kills exceeds 1% of the total 340k at max threshold, i wouldn't consider it negligible. 340k is a big number, but >1% is far from negligible.
Fine. If we take the initial 3600 kills into account, a player is expected to get 18 pets on average during those kills (as opposed to 36 pets on max threshold). he doesn’t know
lol
Not gonna lie, until reading these comments explaining it's how many times you actually pet vorkath, I thought the same thing. This is hilarious.
hahahaha
Fun fact there was a glitch pre-release where under certain circumstances pet would cause you to attack and immediately kill Vorkath. Almost wish they left it just to have the occasional traumatic moment lol.
He's going for the Vorkath Petting Pet.
Do people say 'pet' in the UK? We say 'pat' in Australia, which removes some of this confusion.
Yeah, pet the dog etc Pat for us is more of a description of like a duck patting as it walks
LMAO! This post is so good it deserved a custom Flair
Jagex apologized for the poor wording on the facebook version of this post in the comments
Good to see the devs putting time and effort in such fun gaming as petting a dragon after a quest
SOOOOOOO Petting a Boss and tracking the number of pets is a THING yet we cant get a Fourth Conjure
how many of those pets are from bots tho.
Is that one player ok? Fr
RS3 has Vorkath??
Yes.
Yeah he’s focus of the fort Forinthry narrative. Its crazy they must have farmed it since release and Jagex denies there are bots? 3.4k pets from one boss!?! Absolute joke.
