Remember what happened after the last 10 game streak? They couldn’t string 2 wins together.
I love them good or bad. But, let’s just focus on one game at a time. And getting into the playoffs to break the drought. Then we build on that.
The odds guys will have us around 25% for the most part but I say it’s about 50/50. They’re playing well and they aren’t built on anything unsustainable. Great talents and lethal offense
With 45 games left, if the Sabres win 26 of those games, they are very likely in (need a win in 58% of their games left). I’m going off the 96-point-threshold and predicting a couple of OT losses. So far, they’ve won 54% of their games. They need a slightly better win percentage in the second half of the season. Definitely probable!
[FiveThirtyEight's Elo model has the Sabres at 34%](https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2023-nhl-predictions/?cid=rrpromo)
What has me more optimistic though, besides the eye test, is hockey-reference's [simple rating system](https://web.archive.org/web/20180531115621/https://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/index4837.html?p=37), which is essentially average goal differential per game adjusted by schedule. The Sabres are 6th in the NHL at +0.6 (essentially meaning that per game they have a goal differential 0.6 goals higher than the average NHL team). Unfortunately 6th in the NHL is only good for 4th in the east (behind the Bruins, Leafs and Devils), so the conference and division alignment is what will make the Sabres road harder.
If we keep playing half as well as we are, very good.
However, and while I don't want to be a spoilsport, we are still a very young team, which makes me skeptical about both our abilities to stay consistent and to bounce back if we hit a slump. That said, we definitely have something special, and we're probably only 1-2 years a and good goaltender away from contending.
They are having fun playing the game. They saw a decently packed arena with fans cheering. The motivation and heart are there. They just need a few more pieces. I haven't heard fans chanting let's go Buffalo that loud in KeyBank Arena since it was called HSBC Arena.
100% chance, no doubt. Now if you’re asking what are the odds we win the Stanley Cup, 100% chance, no doubt.
4-0, 4-0, 4-0, 4-1 *edited for accuracy
Math checks out while wearing black and red Goatheads
Much better than they have been for the past decade lmao
Pretty good. We're what 4 points out with 3 games in hand?
4 games in hand. We're absolutely going.
Ssshhhhhhhhh!

Miroslav approves of this percentage
Lookin good, damn I love this team!! Seriously don’t think I’ve been this charged up for roster since 06-07
That year was so fun!
Realistically it's lower than 50%. Vibilistically it's 200%. That said, from here on out if they get 4 points every 3 games. They're gonna be in.
1000%
I think they’re pretty high. The boys seem to be buzzing and they have several games in hand. Also, this is the beginning of another #10gamewinstreak
Why stop at 10? We aren't dropping another game this season!
This season? We may never lose again!

You're not wrong. But we're also never losing another hockey game. Book it.

I just look at pt% instead of points. Right now Pitt is 8th on pace for 95 points. We are 9th on pace for 93.
Our pace also includes that 10 game losing streak. JMO but I think we’re past those types of really bad slumps.
I mean, I think that bad slump was in part due to injury. so as long as we don't lose like 4 defensemen at the same time we should be good.
It wasn't even top 4. It was Dahlin, Power and 4 ahlers, though Clague looks better today
Not true. It was Samuelsson, Lybushkin, and Jokiharju. Dahlin for a game, Power much later, and then Bryson missed some time.
On the ice.

If we score 6 every night we might go somewhere.

100% In making the playoffs, 100% to win the Stanley Cup if they let us wear the goatheads to every game.
In my brain going by facts, like 40%. In my heart of hearts 100%.
100% they’re making it.
[moneypuck.com](https://moneypuck.com) has up at 26.1%
Moneypuck had us at 48% after our 8 game losing streak. Somehow going 11-4-2 since then dropped our odds by 20%.
We broke money puck, sabres have defeated math
Probably because the the time the division spots were much closer. Not so much now since we’re chasing the wild card spots
Depends how often they wear the throwback blacks tbh

The same as the odds the sun comes up tomorrow
Statistically, it's a 21.7% according to Money Puck. Watching the team play I think it should be closer to 75%.
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT They are playing out of their minds. AND UPL has arrived.

What does your faith tell you?
Pretty likely I hope. They’re playing with heart and determination! A lot of talent.
Maybe not this season but next. We need a few more players
If we use the goatheads more? 100% for sure
60% of the time, they make it every time.
Looking at points% a penguins reg loss today puts us in a wild card spot
