They do but honestly they're not as awkward or distracting as you made them sound, they have smallish breast-like forms that make them look female. I kind of like it
It's semi-canon, but the game *Predator Hunting Grounds* both features female Yautja and mentions how they hunt in-universe.
Long story short: The females don't fuck around. While they maintain a sense of honor like the males, they don't piss about with their prey, they go for the throat. Dutch, who at this point was a Predator-reaping bio-enhanced badass gets the snot beaten out of him and is almost killed by one, who lets him live as a warning and leaves him with a few nasty scars.
Ah, because it's gotten almost unanimously positive feedback, he can't just blindly hate on it, so he's playing the 'reasonable' critic act while also being totally unreasonable. Ah yes, the film 'panders' to female empowerment by having a woman not be a useless screaming dumbass in distress. How dare they!
Also, the dialogue in Predator movies is always cheesy... it's part of the fun (outside of the movie before this one where it made me want to tear out every single character's tongues.)
Ong did they forget that literally in the first predator movie it was like 30 -40 minutes until we seen the predator do something. It works because it added some uneasiness
>Ah yes, the film 'panders' to female empowerment by having a woman not be a useless screaming dumbass in distress. How dare they!
Let’s be fair here- while “pander” is probably the wrong word, the movie was marketed in part on female empowerment. I haven’t seen it so I don’t know how heavy-handed it is or not.
I said “in part,” as they were hyping up how the protagonist “defies gender roles” or however they put it before release.
And I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, just acknowledging that it happened.
No, I mean why does he see it as such a bad thing when they “accuse” it of female empowerment.
I didn’t mean he thinks female empowerment is a bad thing, lol. I guess technically I don’t know how he feels, but I can hope we would agree it’s a good thing.
That's just it, I think its perfectly fine. The asshats who have problems with movies starring women in the leading roles would deride the movie from the trailer, claiming that it the character Ripley is just a women for the concept of Female Empowerment and that it is inherently a bad movie because of this, much like they're doing for Prey.
To be honest, Ellen Ripley is probably my favorite protagonist of any movie, because she isn't some overly strong character, she's a realistic interpretation of how someone would handle such terrible events. She barely survives her first encounter with the Xenomorph, and she has nightmares and PTSD from it... but when she is forced into a situation again, she still does what she needs to do to survive, and eventually finds a reason to risk her life (Newt). Its what makes her amazing is that she isn't some soldier with years of combat experience.
Edit: Added an opinion about Ripley
I watched the film today and it's barely relevant past the first half hour.
The first third of the film is a coming-of-age story about the protagonist, Naru, trying to establish her credentials as a hunter for the benefit of her brother and mother (who are supportive) and the tribe's other male hunters (who are jerks). We get about two scenes of "dur hur you can't hunt you are a Woman" from the jerks, and as soon as the Predator shows up, all that flies out the window and no-one gives a shit what Naru has between her legs, because an invisible alien is tearing out people's spines.
The men aren't portrayed as incompetent (in fact, all but one of the Comanche put up an impressive fight against the Predator) and Naru isn't portrayed as unnaturally competent; she has certain skills that are clearly established in the first third and which are all used by the end of the film, but along the way she also fucks up multiple times and nearly dies.
The closest the film comes to reviving the "girl power" plot point is when Naru observes that the Predator left her alive at one point because he didn't consider her a threat. There's an implication that the Predator is following AvP rules of "no women, no children," but it can also just be because she doesn't engage the Predator in a straight fight until very near the end, by which point the Predator is very much taking her seriously. Overall the film is less about female empowerment and more about human ingenuity compensating for their physical weakness in the face of a stronger and more advanced opponent, which is really the core theme of the entire franchise.
The female empowerment is where he made up his mind. We all know it. Dude probably wishes she died and her brother took on the Predator.
She's not exactly a "Mary Sue". She spends half the movie fucking up or running away from something and has to learn how to take on the Predator.
Also, slow? Come on man, really? Tell me you have no patience without saying you have no patience. Iver-long is funny too, it's about 90 minutes long.
And not great acting? Midthunder kills it in this movie.
It’s ironic considering he brags about the strong women in his novels, but one of the complaints about them is that his female characters are too “Mary Sue.”
Of course she is a Mary Sue. She knows how tie fight and track when we meet her. If we don't see a girl be trained by a man or is the daughter of a great warrior, than how can she know things?
And she only manages to find ways to fight the Predator >!because he was busy killing everyone else in the movie and she could see how his skills and gear worked in action!<
I really liked Predators as well. It was a novel twist on the concept (mixing the "alien hunts badasses" premise with a sort of Fortnite battle royale setup).
If I had to rank them, it'd be Predator, Prey, Predators, AvP, Predator 2, AvP 2, and "The Predator" right at the fucking bottom because my God, that movie has no right to exist.
Because I’ve never found him to be that bad, but when people here were so triggered by him, I thought I should re evaluate that. So I looked him up and read some interviews. Turns out I was right, he’s nowhere near as bad as the people here who shit on him say.
Most of these Youtube firebrands are just grifters who hit on a gravy train by exploiting Internet outrage. They don't sincerely believe the shit they spout; off-air, they come off as normal people.
They're still fundamentally immoral, because they know exactly who their audience is and exactly why they're making money, and they have no real problem with it so long as they keep getting paid. "Selling grief to misogynists" is not an ethical business model.
Lol imagine your whole experience ruined cuz of existence of woman character in movie. Why even watching any movie anymore if you're that sensitive? What a snowflake.
Not only that, but a few "Alien vs Predator"-comics from back in the day would involve a human woman surviving a hunt, earning their respect, then being accepted into their "clan" iirc.
Soooo… the movie he’s been shitting on ever since finding out that the protagonist would be a non-white women, turns out to _not_ be very good? Imagine my utter shock.
I just don't understand why you would watch a movie that looks so terrible in the trailers like I love me some batman and extended bat family content I wont even go near that gotham knights show that is coming out because it looks terrible and I dont think ill enjoy it why force myself to try
1. The movie had great pacing. If he wanted a 1h30 action sequence, there's a ton of films like that.
2. The dialogue was done really well.
3. Any female main character is pandering to him.
4. Nope, all the references were good.
So basically, to put it short:
I didn't like this movie because of a woman in it, not to mention the woman is a POC, which automatically means that this movie is woke and therefore I must tell my audience how much this movie sucks without acknowledging the positive reception.
So basically, to put it short:
No one can ever say anything bad about a movie with a woman or PoC lead because that means they are terrible racists and misogynists.
If someone have been “”critical”” with a movie before its release basically just because “woman protagonist” then yeah, there might be a chance that this someone is actually racist and misogynist lol.
Especially after that “heavy-handed pandering to female empowerment”, that in the movie literally translates in “there is a woman and she is the protagonist”, because that’s what the movie does...
I mean come on, it’s the critical drinker, let’s not act like this is his first time...
But it’s not because “woman protagonist” and the movie was intentionally marketed as “female empowerment” before it released, so it’s really disingenuous for you to claim that it translates simply into “woman protagonist.”
And, yeah, it’s Critical Drinker, so I’m willing to give more of a benefit of the doubt, since he’s a lot less far out there than any of the other people that get lumped together as TFM YouTubers.
It’s literally just a woman as a protagonist, that’s it, if someone finds a flaw in having a woman as a protagonist than maybe there is a problem lol. Imagine if it was a man, a young hunter, I don’t know. That would have been “male empowerment”? No of course not, and most importantly that wouldn’t be a flaw of the movie. But it is if there is a woman. Seems kinda unfair to me...
(And I’d like to see where you saw this super woman empowerment marketing before the release of the movie. It’s literally just a woman. That’s enough for some people to believe it’s forced of some kind of agenda. Again, imagine a guy as a protagonist, none of this would have happened...)
This is the plot synopsis that was released originally:
>The story will follow Kee, a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior. Many years ago – in a time before any Europeans had ever encroached on their lands – the Comanche people had a well defined society and gender norms. Kee is very close to her younger brother, Taabe, who is being groomed as a leader. As capable as any young man in the tribe, Kee has always been a teacher and source of inspiration for Taabe. In the Comanche way – she is Patsi – the elder sister that has helped to shape him. Kee is a truth teller and has insight that others do not. A tomboy, she wants to prove herself in the masculine world of the Comanche. When danger threatens them all – Kee sets out to prove that she is as capable as any young warrior.”
“Male empowerment” is a false equivalency. Why do we need to empower males? They’ve pretty much had the power for, like, ever. It wouldn’t make sense to even discuss “male empowerment,” as I literally wouldn’t even know what that is supposed to mean. Female empowerment, on the other hand, is a noble goal, and something that can actually be discussed, since women have not always traditionally been empowered. And no one is even saying female empowerment is even a flaw. I think the stated flaw was the “heavy-handed pandering,” which is its own thing. I haven’t seen the movie, so I can’t comment on the accuracy of the statement, but it’s not an inherently unfair statement as you seem to believe.
Yes, I “simp” for someone when I think they are unfairly attacked. I also “simp” for Rey, & the ST. The world would be a much better place if more people “simped” like that.
Incorrect. Let me provide examples. The Predator in this movie is somewhat inconsistent with what he considers a threat. The final fight between Naru and Predator was kinda anti climatic compared to all the other fights in the movie. The side characters don’t get much development which is a minor complaint since it is only an hour and half long but still. Those are all issues I had with the movie. None of them are sexist or racist. TCD biggest complaint with the movie was “heavy handed female empowerment” something he complained about from the first trailer and is straight up wrong anyway. There’s 1 character who makes 2 comments on Naru belonging in the village in the whole movie. He’s literally only saying that since the lead is a female. That makes it sexist. His other issues are completely made up. Overlong- The movie is 1 hour and 30 minutes no credits. Predictable- yeah it’s a Predator movie. It’s going to die. Bad acting-Midthunder killed it but an argument can be made that the side characters weren’t as good. I’ll give TCD that. -
Weird references- There’s one reference to Predator 2.
So basically, to put it short:
>I didn't like this movie because of a woman in it, not to mention the woman is a POC, which automatically means that this movie is woke and therefore I must tell Reddit how much this movie sucks without acknowledging the positive reception.
I didn't think the movie was heavy-handed with female empowerment at all. It must suck when you have to uphold this schtick of "Anything where a woman does something competent is woke."
I can't think of a more unoriginal, boring shtick than White Guy Edgelord Who Thinks Being An Alcoholic Is A Substitute For A Personality. Who finds this entertaining?
It's so cringe. Like, I enjoy whiskey quite a but myself, but it's just something I like. My Instagram username isn't like, "whiskey.guzzler.1974" or whatever.
That's what he always does, he bitches and moans because of a trailer. Then, when the film comes out, he praises it in the most backhanded and condescending way.
Prey was pretty good despite how basic the premise is. My only complaint would be how the characters speak in a modern sounding way while intercutting the occasional comanche word into their sentences.
Really it's not a big deal just something that bugs me personally but when my biggest complaint is that it goes to show how decent the movie is
Edit: also the female empowerment of the film is very strange and handled in a different way compared to medis dude's like this hate. In the film >! The main character beats the predator not because she's just inheritantly better than the male characters but because the predator initially doesn't see her as worthy prey giving her an edge that the male characters don't have where the predator just ignores her until she proves herself worthy to be hunted but by then the predator is already wounded and she's seen all it's tricks so she's able to beat it. The predator had every opportunity in the world to kill her but chose not to until it was already too late for it !<
The empowerment for this film isn't really "women are just as strong as men" (even though that is in the film) but more "don't underestimate people based off of perceived weaknesses" which I think is a great message.
I think I would’ve probably preferred if all the characters had actually spoken Comanche throughout the whole movie and it’d all been subtitled. For me it would’ve added to the overall authenticity.
YOU HATE WOMEN, DRINKER, I DON'T LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE. YOU HATE MARVEL, THAT'S FINE FOR YOU!! I WANNA COMMIT SUICIDE IF YOU CONTINUE COMPLAINING ABOUT STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS IN MOVIES. YOU LACK RESPECT. YOU LACK APPRECIATION. YOU ARE PLAGUING MY TASTES OF MOVIES!!
So... By his logic a game series like Horizon ( Zero Dawn and Forbidden West) is female empowerment pandering because we have young woman as a protagonist in a coming of age story ,who is a hunter, part of a tribe and trying to prove herself and her place within said tribe ,overcomes incredible obstacles, survives against all odds fighting deadly mechanical beasts with a bow an arrow and saves the world
Aren't those games universally loved ? Or am I missing something.
Part of the issue is putting 18th century Comanche culture on the back burner to make room for an empowered female lead. All the reviews I see praising this movie aren't for it's story, culture, or effects. It's for "how important of a movie it is". I've had Hulu a long time, they've never been good at making content and this is going to be another example.
I think most people are just saying, it’s hardly surprising that a movie he’d been shitting on ever since they announced that the main character would be a Native American woman, ends up being bad (according to him). Also, his complaint about it being overlong is ridiculous considering it’s only 90 minutes… any shorter and it wouldn’t even officially count as a _movie._
If only they’d make a Predator flick that pandered to white guys 🥺
What they should do is make a Predator movie where a female Predator carves her path through a bunch of male leads.
Actually, how do we know that the Predator in 1987 _wasn’t_ female?
Pretty sure the Yautja females have tits. They're basically 'death by snu snu'.
I saw this in Xvideos
They kind of did that with the original, though I would say it crosses all racial boundaries and panders more to just men in general.
That’s the joke
Oh, well I thought that might be the case, but it threw me when you added the racial qualifier.
Even the first one didn’t do that but of course dude bros confuse social commentary with buffed guys trying to kill an alien.
Also, the dialogue in Predator movies is always cheesy... it's part of the fun (outside of the movie before this one where it made me want to tear out every single character's tongues.)
>overlong the movie is 90 minutes long
Ikr, it’s such a dumb criticism… if a movie is less than 80 minutes long then it technically doesn’t even count as _feature length._
Ong did they forget that literally in the first predator movie it was like 30 -40 minutes until we seen the predator do something. It works because it added some uneasiness
All I remember from the last movie was something about weaponized autism?
Yes , The Predator literally puts autism as the next step of human evolution
God that was a terrible movie Like how do you fuck up a Predator film so badly, it's the most insanely simple premise imaginable
I thought it was marketed on the whole Predator in Native America thing?
I said “in part,” as they were hyping up how the protagonist “defies gender roles” or however they put it before release. And I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, just acknowledging that it happened.
Have you seen the trailer for Aliens? If that aired today, these asshats would also accuse it of "female empowerment"
Alien absolutely fucking IS empowering for women. Why do you see that as such a bad thing?
He doesn’t you dolt, Critical Stinker and his buddies would/do.
No, I mean why does he see it as such a bad thing when they “accuse” it of female empowerment. I didn’t mean he thinks female empowerment is a bad thing, lol. I guess technically I don’t know how he feels, but I can hope we would agree it’s a good thing.

I wanted to watch it, but didn’t see it on D+. Is it not releasing there in the States?
Shit, maybe not. I think it's on Hulu in the US.
>heavy-handed pandering to female empowerment Translation: a woman is the main character and me no likey
Don’t forget that the woman isn’t white. Critical drinker isn’t happy about that either
A Native American woman… gotta get that in there for that crowd.
LMAO literally

That's basically every other movie in this franchise, but Prey was the only one who came close to the first one IMO

...I enjoyed The Predator.... But yeah, it was bad and deserved the criticism it got, haha.
Duh…
> Overly long Its like an hour 40 with credits what did he want a fucking short film?
What a miserable pathetic life this guy must lead to the point where he wired up his brain to hate everything he watches. Just sad really.
He doesn’t hate everything he watches, just everything without a cishet white male lead
It seems like an alright life… wife, a couple kids, a bestselling series of novels, and a YT channel that brings in about a $750k a year.
This dude is married and has kids? How’d he trick someone into that?
Jesus, those poor kids.
I’m sure being a millionaire doesn’t hurt. But I also think he’s probably not as bad of a guy as his YT character makes it seem.
Oh, so he's only PRETENDING to be racist and misogynist. Oh ok, that makes everything better.
I was talking about the degenerate alcoholism, but you do you.
This dude is married and has kids? How’d he trick someone into that?
Lol why do you even know this. Why are you like this.

The Predator just shows up and is awesome at everything, no training whatsoever. Total Gary Stu.
“Overlong” is how you know he didn’t actually watch it. The movie doesn’t even hit an hour and a half without the credits.
Lol imagine your whole experience ruined cuz of existence of woman character in movie. Why even watching any movie anymore if you're that sensitive? What a snowflake.
My man clearly just doesn't even like movies Also women, he doesn't like women either
90 minutes is apparently too long for him so yeah it makes sense that he hates every movie he sees lol
"Heavy handed pandering to female empowerment" This man is terrified of women being on the big screen and being main characters.I love it.
this man is terrified of women
In lore....the female yautja( predator species) r bigger and stronger than the males....
Not only that, but a few "Alien vs Predator"-comics from back in the day would involve a human woman surviving a hunt, earning their respect, then being accepted into their "clan" iirc.
Literally the first AVP movie too!
I think that's where the movie got the idea.
They made Predator political smh /s
Soooo… the movie he’s been shitting on ever since finding out that the protagonist would be a non-white women, turns out to _not_ be very good? Imagine my utter shock.
"I HAVE LEGIT CRITICISM!" "HULU IS CALLING US ALL MYSOGNIST RACISTS!"
“Cheesy dialogues” I presume he never watched a single Predator movie lol Also Female empowerment=woman as a protagonist, of course...

Speaking of female empowerment, I’m pretty sure I could kick seven shades of shite out of this degenerate on a bad day
I’d pay money to see that
It's cause he's got an agenda ya see
It feels like he knows it’s better than he’s letting on.
I didn't think the movie was heavy-handed with female empowerment at all. It must suck when you have to uphold this schtick of "Anything where a woman does something competent is woke."
But he love Ellen Ripley! So he can't be sexist!
Piss drinker is a good name for him, he’s coping because of how beloved the movie is, it’s easily the best one in the series.
At this point he can just feed an AI all his tweets and videos and it will write all of his reviews for him
Guy went into the theater expecting himself to hate it already.
He didn’t know what’s going on because his brain is much from all that ethanol
I am not worried about the idiot himself, I am worried of 1070 hacks who think themselves smart.
It was predictable yet nothing drinker actually predicted happened
A man named after his alcoholism is drunk, what shock
I can't think of a more unoriginal, boring shtick than White Guy Edgelord Who Thinks Being An Alcoholic Is A Substitute For A Personality. Who finds this entertaining?
Probably people in the 90's when the idea of an Anti-Hero was stillkind of new, shocking, and groundbreaking?
It's so cringe. Like, I enjoy whiskey quite a but myself, but it's just something I like. My Instagram username isn't like, "whiskey.guzzler.1974" or whatever.
Oh hey it’s every criticism he throws at anything else he dislikes
I wonder if they’d call Predator 2 or Alien vs. Predator “woke” nowadays for starting a Black guy and a Black woman, respectively.
I call him The Critical Sipper because he's never drank hard liquor in his life.
NGL it’s much more positive than I expected from him
Well he probably doesn't want to lose too much credibility by shitting on a generally well liked movie
Really it's not a big deal just something that bugs me personally but when my biggest complaint is that it goes to show how decent the movie is Edit: also the female empowerment of the film is very strange and handled in a different way compared to medis dude's like this hate. The predator had every opportunity in the world to kill her but chose not to until it was already too late for it !< The empowerment for this film isn't really "women are just as strong as men" (even though that is in the film) but more "don't underestimate people based off of perceived weaknesses" which I think is a great message.
Ah, "Toilet humor" the hieght of wit. Drinker uses it in his videos because he's drunk, what is your excuse?
I found this to be an acceptable compromise
Funny how to them, too much female empowerment is when it's basically non-existent.
I thought this subreddit was star wars related whats critical drinker got to do with this?
Does this sub take shots every time someone who criticizes the Monopoly Mouse has an opinion on something?
So... By his logic a game series like Horizon ( Zero Dawn and Forbidden West) is female empowerment pandering because we have young woman as a protagonist in a coming of age story ,who is a hunter, part of a tribe and trying to prove herself and her place within said tribe ,overcomes incredible obstacles, survives against all odds fighting deadly mechanical beasts with a bow an arrow and saves the world Aren't those games universally loved ? Or am I missing something.
Had the best action out of any Predator movie and is arguably better than the first one. Will needs to piss off back to his shitty novels
Now do the other terrible predator movies, cringe drinker.
"totally unrealistic as female was never dominated by strong man" that is, man-alien-vaginaface
I'm just surprised he didn't like The Predator, seems like the kinda "not woke" movie he would like
This man is definitely in denial that he liked it lmao
Wait y’all say this is really salty? The bruh was just stating a complaint! Not everybody has to love everything you love!
