Yes! We had this just a few weeks ago on Banshee’s eye, nose and lip on her right side. I took her to a vet who told us to watch it for a few weeks and to come back for a Lab test if it didn’t improve. About a week later it started getting black pigments again and now it’s almost completely black again.
I don’t know what it was, possibly allergies or an injuries, but it pretty much went away by itself. Now there’s just a few pink pigments left I see no urgency to do the lab tests, but if you’re concerned, you should phone your vet.
This would be my guess. He probably just scraped off the (pigmented) top layer of skin by chewing on something. Doesn't look serious and it'll probably grow back quickly.

That last sentence there is good advice for pretty much anything.
Maybe from chewing on something?
