My GW3 is scratched decently but doesn't really have any dents or gouges so what do I put for the trade in question about physical condition? Also how likely is it that sometime in the near future there are designer or other special editions of the watch 5 or buds2 pro?

GoingNorth2400

My son has forgot his pincode and is locked out. Is there anyway we can gain access without factory restarting? Our phones are linked up via fanilylink.

dnkmaymays

I am wanting to get a uv steriliser phone but am having a hard time finding one that will work with my Galaxy Z Fold3 any advice? Idealy I would like to be able to clean my phone unfolded to maximise surface area.

Substantial-Coffee33

Is it worth trading in a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G for an LG V60 ThinQ? I know the S21 is technically better (performance, camera, whatever eSIM is), but the LG has expandable storage and a headphone jack....which are 2 of 3 big pluses for me.

Substantial-Coffee33

Is there a way to make a Samsung Galaxy as secure as an iPhone? Right now Samsung has all of the features I love about it (headphone jack, 5G capable and expandable storage), but I keep hearing iPhone is more secure than Samsung and it gets more updates. How can I keep up with iPhones, security-wise?

Thortok2000

You got biometric security and the secure folder. Like, you're being super vague here. What do you even mean by 'secure'? To be fair I can't really speak to this. I've never cared about security, and I don't really get the mindset of people who do. Any time I've had to worry about security it was for work or something work-related, and that's their job to tell me security policies and I just follow them.

I'm interested in buying the Buds Pro (or maybe Pro 2) but I'm a bit lost with all the info and types of music quality. I'll appreciate any kind of help. 1. Can't Bluetooth deliver high quality music? Hi-Res/lossless files such as FLAC will sound like a common MP3 from YouTube? Or maybe with limited quality? 2. What are the best types of files that can be played from TWS such as the Buds Pro? I've read somewhere about aptX/aptX HD audio. 3. Can the Buds Pro handle the 320 kbps of Spotify's premium or even greater sound qualities such as those of Tidal? 4. Do all Samsung phones deliver better music quality with Samsung buds? Even new mid-ranged phones like the A53? Or TWS such as the Buds Pro will be a waste on them? Like bottleneck. 5. Is there a huge difference between the Buds Pro and Buds Pro 2 when it comes to sound quality and comfort? I know lots of questions, I'll keep my research too. Thanks in advance.

I'm having issues with the play store. Got a galaxy fold 3 yesterday and since then I've had a notification from the play store saying, "completing setup unstalling 6 out of 11 applications," I also cannot download apps. It only says pending. I go to my updates and downloads and nothing is updating or downloading, though many apps do need an update. I see no reason why the apps shouldn't be able to download. I've tried resetting the phone, but it doesn't help. Whenever I try updating an app, it just says pending. Not sure what it's waiting for. Anybody know what's wrong and how I can fix it? Also, when setting up the phone, i transferred the data from my previous phone via smart-something (I forget the name

TheDrunkenBird

I can't decide between the galaxy bud 2 and the 2 pro. I currently have the galaxy bud+ but those are kinda broken because they randomly turn of and the sound has really become a lot quieter. So I want to upgrade but don't now which one to get Because the pro are almost €150 more expensive is it it's money worth and is there a clear difference in sound quality

Xryphon

I would get the Galaxy Buds Pro because they feature noise cancellation; if that isn't a feature that you need, choose the Buds 2.

jesterMIDAS

Our TV keeps repeating acrions that i press on my remote over and over and over again. When we turn it off it turns on and off and on and off and on and off until I unplug it. When we hit menu it cycles the menu over and over and over again until i unplug it. Ans thw weord part is it does all of this even when the batteries of the remote arw out. Any ideas of how to fix this or what is going on? It was fine this morning and then i got back from work and it suddenly started doing this.

HatcherTM

How to get rid of red mute icon on top right of screen on Samsung smart tv? I’ve pressed every mute button imaginable and it’ll say muted or unmuted but the red icon in the top right still says mute and won’t go away how to fix?

Thortok2000

Are you sure that's a mute button and not a notification?

Xryphon

Have you fully shut down/ restarted the TV?

I've got an extra $200 off Phone+Buds+Watch bundle for the Samsung US site - PM me for details!

I guess I'm reposting because they don't allow this post as it's own topic. I'm surprised by that: Earlier this week, there was a thread (either here or the Android sub) talking about Face ID and how it might have improved over the years. One of the reasons I went to Samsung from Apple was because I didn't like Face ID very much. I decided to try it out on the Samsung phone and I found it really inconsistent, and the same issue I had with Iphone and laying in Bed was also with the Samsung phone. Has anyone else had issues with Face ID. I would say it worked about 80% of the time, but if you were outside and there was a sun glare, the phone wouldn't recognize the face. I immediately have gone back to Touch ID which is a lot better. I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong.

Thortok2000

Ever since I did 'dynamic lock' and set it in a way that was convenient for me, I haven't even tried to do face unlock. Fingerprint works just fine for the rare occasion that isn't covered in dynamic lock. Generally I don't even like locking my phone at all though, only do it because something somewhere required it, I forget. May not be who you're looking to get an answer from. Back when I used facelock, about 80% of the time sounds about right. It did work even when wearing sunglasses or mask (back when covid measures were a thing) though, but not both.

Most built-in apps can be disabled. *Every* app can be hidden. Can even hide the Phone app if you want. Just checked on my S10 work phone since it was in arm's reach. This is just speaking for the apps that are visible in your apps list. Apps that are an innate part of the operating system are already kind of 'hidden' already.

Ever since we bought our tv, years ago, it had 4 sections, like 4 squares that create the entire screen, and whenever there’s a fast moving scene in any piece of media it plays, you can see the separation in the screen, with the top left box being dominant and not pixellating. 72 inch tv My family tunes it out, and ignores it while knowing it’s there. I just can’t stand it, hurts my eyes when watching literally anything and ruins the experience of good shows. Is this some sort of frame rate problem? Or is it a physical issue?

Thortok2000

Can you take an image or video of this? It's probably service but I'm having a hard time picturing it from your description.

My Samsung M30s motherboard has some issues and hence I cannot turn it on, I decided to buy a new device instead of getting the old one repaired as the repair cost was enough to buy a new phone, unfortunatly my new smartphone is not a samsung device and hence I cannot access my samsung notes, is there a way I can get my notes back? Thank you

Thortok2000

I believe you can still install samsung notes even on non-samsung devices. If so, then you may be able to backup/restore using samsung account.

SuperSpaceApe2

I can't install samsung notes on non-samsung devices. https://imgur.com/a/rR8jkl0

Hello! I tried turning on Data-Roaming on my Samsung Galaxy S20+ but I don't see a slider to turn it on. All I see are options for Disabled, National Roaming Only, or All Networks. I've tried multiple Internet searches, they all led me to the same exact place, where there's supposed to be a slider for me. But I don't have it. What's wrong here? I can't seem to figure it out. https://imgur.com/a/7eKzDQF

Thortok2000

Are those three options what you get when you tap on 'Data roaming'? If so, then the reason you don't have a slider is because you have more than just a yes/no option, probably because of your carrier. You can choose whether you want data roaming but only when you stay in the nation, or, you want data roaming even when traveling internationally. Or the off setting, of course. Those are just my best guesses at what those options mean: if you want to be sure, ask your carrier.

MrIous17

Still, it doesn't work at all :/ I'm in France currently on vacation, and I'm the only one in my family who doesn't have access to the Internet, everyone's roaming works just fine

Thortok2000

Call your carrier.

I have a 55" Q70T tv and yesterday I noticed half of the panel had a different tint, kinda purple-ish. I don't think it is related to the backlight, because is distinguishable both with minimum and maximum brightness, HDR on and off. And as far as I know, LED TVs don't get burn-in. I took a couple of pictures, it's easy to see what I'm talking about [here](https://i.imgur.com/6HUjDAF.jpg) and [here.](https://i.imgur.com/NY5Ud3O.jpg) I use it for watching online content (yt and streaming platforms) and gaming. Did a picture reset and a factory reset but nothing helped.

Xryphon

Is it possible that the brightness makes it appear weirdly? I know that this occurs on some phones, so the same logic might apply here as well considering LCDs can have uneven backlighting, and this TV appears to have that issue as well.

[deleted]

I think is possible but unlikely, honestly. I've had this tv for 2 years now and I just found out about this issue. I noticed it first on a screen of a game I play really often, so it's likely i would have seen it before.

BnJova

Trade in and pre-order or hold and wait for better sale? Been holding out for a phone for awhile. Really like productivity phones and a larger real estate to work with. I was wondering if the pre order price would be the best or wait till black Friday or some other date for the price to go down? I'm still running the S10 and their giving me a trade in value of 500 for it. With all the discounts I'm given, it's be 1100ish for 512gb z fold 4 with pen and case.

Xryphon

I would wait unless you want to get rid of your S10 as soon as possible. It's almost Black Friday, and if you can wait till then, there will likely be some good deals available.

sawyersnizzard

Would a standard Samsung Galaxy S22 be a massive downgrade from a Note20 Ultra? My screen is broken but the cost to repair that is high. I thought about getting a new phone but I want to pay less monthly - hence looking at the standard S22.

Xryphon

The only true benefit you would be getting is the extended software support (two or so years). The cameras are a downgrade, and the display differences are hardly visible when it is essentially just a specification battle.

AppleCider421

I have a question regarding the option to login with my fingerprint on a Samsung device. When I enable this option on my phone, how is my fingerprint processed exactly and where does my phone store it? Does it store the raw data of my fingerprint, or something else, like a hash? Also, when I enable fingerprint login for other apps (for example banking apps in order to not type my password), do these apps have access to whatever data my phone stored about my fingerprint? Thank you!

Thortok2000

I'm just guessing. Pretty sure other apps are just seeking a "validated" response from the built in OS fingerprint checker. The other apps don't care what your fingerprint actually is and don't have any way to access it. They just know the OS of your phone gave them the green light that you're approved. Can't even guess as far as how data is stored.

purplewaterbottle123

Samsung A51 with broken screen. Any way to salvage internal storage photos? - The screen is completely black and doesn't react to the touch for the most part, although there are no visible cracks. - The Samsung findmyphone tool is unable to find the phone. WiFi was on when it broke, but somehow the phone seems to be disconnected from it now. - Connecting the phone to a monitor with an USB-c to HDMI cable doesn't work for some reason. The Samsung support team is clueless and are unable to provide an explanation - All the data recovery apps I have tried don't allow me to select the right phone model I'd be really grateful if anyone has any other ideas

purplewaterbottle123

Thanks, but if you read my message you'll see that that is exactly what I did, it didn't work and Samsung tech support were unable to explain why

Thortok2000

The article explains why: Some models don't have that feature. As the A series is low-end, that could be why. Those are really your only options. In the future, set automatic cloud sync on your photos so this doesn't happen. If there's anything worth paying money to keep, you could always try forensic data recovery. It can be super expensive, though, and rarely worth it. Could also just try getting the screen repaired and asking them not to reset the phone while they do it....if that's possible. I've never gotten a screen repaired.

RBElectrical

I upgraded to a SU22 from a SU20 and I can't figure out how to get my Message+ messages over to the new phone. It sycs 90 days of message and that's it. I have messages going back years on my old phone through the app and would like them on the new phone. When using smartswitch it seems to only pull the messages from the native message app (which I do not use) and not the Message+ app. What am I doing wrong? I was able to get Message+ on my iphone, but it also only syncs the same time period of 90 days.

Thortok2000

Seems like an issue with the Message+ app. Ask them how you're supposed to transfer stuff between devices, or backup/restore message history.

CatacombSkeleton

Is it a good time to upgrade to the S22 Ultra? Since new phones.are out will the S22 Ultra go on sale soon? I'm curious because right now my trade in value at Samsung for my S20fe is 450 bucks and apparently that's like some special trade in rate right now and with that 150 discount on Samsung I can get a Ultra for about 800 after tax. Is this a decent deal? Should I wait? Is there much better out there?

Xryphon

Considering it is nearing autumn, I would wait for a while to see if any more discounts come around instead of just upgrading now. The S20 FE is still a decent phone.

Starbush

When they state "Any wireless earbuds in any condition" for the trade-in, would that encompass a super old pair that I paid £30 for 7 years ago? (Only one works lmao)

Thortok2000

If they are wireless, and they are earbuds, then that seems like it answers your question.

Starbush

Thanks, just seems a little too... good to be true?

Thortok2000

Feel free to read the fine print if you're unsure, but I'm betting that they could probably afford to give you that trade-in discount even if you traded in a piece of paper with a drawing of wireless earbuds on it. (Don't do that.) My point is if they're offering this, then it's because they're still coming out ahead, either in every case or at the very least, on the expected average. I personally like the concept of trade-in as an environmental way to get rid of old devices and recycle them.

jackson92g

I can't pre-order the fold 4 is the site gonna be down forever?

Xryphon

Assuming that there are also many other people trying to preorder the device, then yes, expect the site to be down for a couple hours. This happened last time with the Fold 3 and S22 series as well, I believe.

iredNinjaXD

Can you use the new watch with the iPhone?

Xryphon

There is a Samsung Wearable application on iOS, so I would assume so.
