I have mine but it was Navy Blue and also satisfied with its built and performance . The screen was so beautiful and comes with free Galaxy Buds FE and 25 watts charger.
Well, what country has the 12GB/256GB Variant. In my country, it was only 8GB/256GB variant. But regardless, it was still enough since I am not gonna use it in intensive task.
Enjoy your phone!
Comes with free Galaxy buds FE and 25 watts charger? Damn! That's so nice. I didn't even get a screen protector for free.
I am in India. I wasn't knowing that 12GB variants aren't available worldwide.
Thanks! You too!!
How's the transition from using the s21+ to the a55? I'm planning to change mine to the a55 also coming from a Xiaomi mi 11 so I wonder how's your experience with it.
1) Feels bulkier
2) Display isn't as good as S21+'s. The blacks aren't that black.
3) Bezels on the display are huge
4) Speaker isn't as loud as S21+'s.
- The phone feels smooth. As good as S21+. I use it anyway for basic tasks.
- The battery performance is really good. Better than S21+. It will only drop 2 or 3 percent when left overnight unlike S21+ which would drop by 10 or 15%
- The SD card support is an added advantage
- The phone will not get the AI features ๐
I'm so happy they moved to aluminium frame on the top A series!ย I was so pissed to only see plastic frames on that range. Maybe this Sammy will push more brands to improve their game.
We have the A52 though, which is very close spec wise... 6GB of RAM vs 8GB, but it's got a Snapdragon something.
We got one for our kid. It's crazy how good looks for what it cost.
Thanks man.
I did 2 things for that:
1) Installed Nova Launcher and used OneUI icon pack. This shifts the icons 90% down. I am not a fan of OneUI's massive gaps between icons.
2) There used to be a gesture handle/hint at the mid-bottom which utilized the rest 10%. The current OneUI 6.1 doesn't let you hide that gesture hint. That option has been hidden which only can be recovered by using a Goodlock module called Navstar. However, that version of Navstar is only available for S24 series. So i downloaded that variant of Navstar from the internet and used it accordingly. Worked like a charm.
Let me know if you need help.
Waiting on mine right now. Placed the order yesterday alongside a pair of buds FE and Fit3. Unsure how long it will take to arrive. Oh boy, the wait is killing me!
I got mine in Malaysia with a buds FE & Galaxy Fit 3 for $422, There was an offer recently for it for that combo for $38, but I had already bought it by then. And now my buds FE have a weird sound on the left, so I'm going to have to take them in for repair.
I also purchased Galaxy A55, my first A series phone. This phone is beyond my expectations. The thermal is so good, battery also good, and exynos 1480 can handle every app that i use (Social media, Youtube, & Gaming (Mlbb & Wildrift). It run smoothly without any hiccup and keep the thermal cool (mostly I'm using my phone with wifi).
The only thing bugging me is the screen colors, it's not as vivid as previous samsung phone. I think they changed the Vivid color profile on their new released phone (S24 series also have this "issue" but they get an update to control the vividness level), and i hope A55 also get this feature ๐ค๐ผ
Camera is good enough. Good enough for basic photography, sharing etc. You do get the editing tools offered by Samsung like object eraser. I am not fan of phone photography anyway. I prefer to use my conventional camera.
I bought it for the looks. The performance is decent.
Nevertheless, if i see it becoming slow even after the suggested remedies, this baby will be sold in no time.
Yeah, I'm just saying that the GOAT of the A series was the A73.
Also I think that the cameras on the A series are secretly pretty good, but they're never really touted as such. You don't get the extras of course, but they tend to take good photos. I also like the "key island" which is good for quick feel
Oh and the Navy color is tight.
Oh and mSD!
Yes, the mSD โค๏ธ
Oh, i didn't know that about A73. But there was no A74 i guess. I wonder what would have happened. Anyway, i hope A75 drops in NA and you get to buy it.
Best wishes!!
The S23 series had somewhat curved sides. This is literally just flat as it is in S24 series. The sides are so flat and sharp that you can cut yourself if you are inclined enough.
Thats a first, cut from the back if your phone lol
The edges are flatter than my old phone on this though (A52s), but I can't really compare it to the newer models
It's just been 2 days so can't really comment on that. But so far, its been buttery smooth.
I am planning to keep this for atleast 2 yrs and in pristine condition, both hardware and software wise. For hardware, i just have to be careful, put on cover all the times, install a tempered glass, stay away from water and what not.
But for software side, I'll be deleting junk files time to time, delete older messages, reboot it once in a while and stuffs like that. I hope it works. Let's see. ๐ค๐ป
Damn! You might as well get S24 if you drop in a 100โฌ more.
I don't why Samsung does what it does. I learnt from the comments that it is not even coming to North America. Seriously.
Flagship any day than premium medium range.
If the condition of S23+ is good, then go for it. And it's just an year old so you wouldn't be missing out much.
No issues like that so far. I have been using this for mainly calls, messages, social media, Youtube, OTTs etc and haven't faced this issue.
I am neither doing any photo or video editing on this one nor gaming. Possibly it'd perform but then again, it'd probably heat up or be laggy.
What are the productivity apps you are talking about?
No I am considering it for purchase but the Amazon reviews are not giving me confidence as they mention about overheating so just confirming with the actual user.
Not sure if you're still on the fence about this, but I have no overheating problems at all. The only time it's been noticeably warmer is during charging (which is normal). During heavy use it never even touches 40ยฐC.
I just got the s23 fe yesterday and was surprised this phone had circle to search etc. I thought the a55 would get it too but I guess it's processing isn't enoughย
A series doesn't have that kinda clearance yet.
S series however, regular or the FEs, they are the flagships. FEs might not get some hardware, but surely will get most of the software features.
I bought it offline because the seller was giving me this with โน3000 discount. The official price for 12GB/256GB was โน46k but he gave at โน43k. I couldn't say no. You can check out at Reliance Digital, Croma, Samsung outlets etc. I bought it from a local store which deals with all the brands.
Till now the performance has been great. No stutter anywhere at all. However, i do not play games and edit videos/images in this phone. The battery performance is really impressive. The battery drain is very slow. It easily lasts me whole day with 20% left.
Worth buying... I can't really answer that for you. Reviewers say that it does not offer much at this price range which is kinda true. Hey, but it is Samsung which is offering 4 OS updates, 5 yrs security update. My intention of buying this was straight i.e. lightweight work like YouTube, social media, calling, messages, mails etc. The other factor was the looks which is just marvellous IMO. It's just a beautiful phone, NGL.
I hope i clarified your thoughts. However, if you have more questions, comment down. Thanks.
I am also interested in upgrading to the A55 but I am skeptical 'cause of the issues with the exynos chips getting heated. do you think such is the case with this phone too all this time while you've been using it?
It's been 2 weeks since i am using it and there has not been a single instance when the phone heated up. However, do consider the fact that i use it only for light stuff.
Aaah okay! I was thinking India gets ALL the good stuff ๐ because for me the key island is pointless and just makes it harder to press the keys. Do you think the key island has been okay when you use it?
I have been using this for the past 2 days. I can briefly tell a few things.
Cons:
1) No Dex
2) No wireless charging and 45W ultra fast charging
3) No IP68. It's IP67
4) No UFS 3. It's UFS 2.
5) Massive bezels
6) Not an LTPO display panel
Pros:
1) Good looking and feels premium
2) Software experience is top notch. Smooth and buttery.
3) 4 years Software update (until Android 18)
I already have an S21+ which i would be using for editing and other heavy stuff. I bought this phone because i accidentally busted the camera of S21+ to the point that it can't be used anymore unless replaced. S21+ was already 2 years old and hence i thought to go for a something a little cheaper and hence bought this. I'll be using A55 for basic stuff.
If any one of the cons is a deal breaker for you, don't go for it. However, if you have any questions for me, please let me know.
Thanks.
1. Never had nor used dex so not a big deal
2. Never had a phone with and never used wireless charging
3 I dont plan on diving with the phone so not much of a problem, IP67 is still waterproof tho only a bit shallower
4. I have no idea what this is
5. Dont mind the bezels
6. I have no idea what kind of panel this is so not much of a difference to me
I just need a reliable phone for everyday use nothing fancy, not a gamer or streamer or whatever other types hardcore users are there. Also i need a durable phone that will last at least 4 years if not more.
How is the battery holding on? Do you see massive drainage at the beginning?
UFS 2 means the data transfer rate would be slower than UFS 3. The difference is significant. However, if you do not have any needs like that, then UFS 2 is good enough anyway.
LTPO panel means the refresh rate can go as low as 1hz when there is nothing moving on screen which ultimately saves battery. A55 has the refresh rate of 120Hz which consumes battery but you can set that in the settings to conserve some battery juice.
Battery has been really good so far. There is no dramatic drainage.
I think you are golden. Go ahead and buy this however i would suggest to not load with junk which do manage to accumulate overtime. I would suggest you do a cleanup once in a quarter to keep everything in check. Other than that, you are good.
Good Luck!
I don't see UFS version mentioned anywhere on the GSMArena spec page.
>plus i did a file transfer and it was so slow that i felt i am in stone age.
I think you are confusing USB with UFS. Those are two completely different things. Please look it up. And if you were referring to USB standard, yeah, A55 only has 2.0.
If you can, try wireless file transfer through Wifi 6 router as it can theoretically achieve much higher speeds than USB 2.
[Screenshot ](https://imgur.com/a/0YN3CKx) of my conversation with the Samsung Support.
As far as i know -
128 gb - UFS 2.X
256 gb - UFS 3.1
to confirm this, download Antutu from galaxy store and run a storage test. Let me know too (I have a 256gb version)
Yeah if i had the budget... Where i live the a55 with 8gb/128gb will be retailed at 450 euros max in the beginning and later(around september) will for sure drop to 400 maybe even below 400. The s23 is still going for 600 euros USED and dont let me start on the s24 you cant find that below 1000 euros used and new is about 1300 euros. So yeah i dont think i can buy any of the S series, besides this a55 is new
The FE versions are also not bad, but they seem to be having problems lately. I would recommend oppo or realme like the realme GT5 pro which has the snapdragon 8 gen 3 chipset and cost a fraction of the price compared to this garbage which gives exynos 1480 can't even do gaming or take a decent picture without lagging hard and costs ridiculously expensive your just paying for the ddr4 ram, screen and storage space that is basically it.
S23 was โน15000 (~185$) costlier than this let alone S23+ and its Ultra.
Regarding Samsung not focusing on their cheapies, I'll have to see. This phone is a bit costlier than what the others are offering at this price bracket but the looks man, it sold me. I wanted to have the feel of S24+ without suffocating the bank balance. And besides, my major heavy stuff will be handled by S21+. This I'll be using for basic stuff. So i hope it lasts atleast 2 years.
I have mine but it was Navy Blue and also satisfied with its built and performance . The screen was so beautiful and comes with free Galaxy Buds FE and 25 watts charger. hey how much did you buy this for? What was your previous phone? how do you like this phone after a month's usage?
I bought it for INR 43000. My previous phone was S21+. So far, everything is top notch...no complaints so far.
How's the transition from using the s21+ to the a55? I'm planning to change mine to the a55 also coming from a Xiaomi mi 11 so I wonder how's your experience with it.

It will only drop 2 or 3 percent when left overnight unlike S21+ which would drop by 10 or 15% - The SD card support is an added advantage - The phone will not get the AI features ๐
my flagship 1800 $ s23 ultra has 8 gb of ram ๐
S23u have faster ram i think
may i ask how did u change the color of the fingerprint sensor? but congrats
Oh, i didn't. It's maybe lighting or camera glitch. Not sure but believe me, it's just white.
yah no problem and cool setup btw
I almost thought it was a S24. Good for the A series to be this close to the flagships
I know, right! The looks had me.
Yes beautiful. And also that's why I still prefer S23 over S24, theirs are recognizable by the LED.
Wow, that looks great! the A55 is definitely samsungs most premium midrange phone yet!
Yes...definitely!
I'm so happy they moved to aluminium frame on the top A series!ย I was so pissed to only see plastic frames on that range. Maybe this Sammy will push more brands to improve their game.
This phone even supports microSD. I might choose it over my S24 if it came out first despite being a mid-range phone. LOL.
I am up for trading if you want ๐
they should have called it A75 and made a smaller version called A55
fire lockscreen bro ๐ฅ

Such a shame it's not available in the United States
Damn! I didn't know that.

Great home screen layout. How did you get the apps to go further down?
Thanks man. I did 2 things for that: 1) Installed Nova Launcher and used OneUI icon pack. This shifts the icons 90% down. Samsung Knights... Rejoice!!!
Damn that looks great too, wish they brought this one to the states... Samsung said we can get the S23 fe in its place
I am not sure why Samsung does that
Waiting on mine right now. Placed the order yesterday alongside a pair of buds FE and Fit3. Unsure how long it will take to arrive. Oh boy, the wait is killing me!
It's worth it. I hope it arrives earlier than expected. Good luck!!

How is the camera?
Camera is good enough. Good enough for basic photography, sharing etc. You do get the editing tools offered by Samsung like object eraser. I am not fan of phone photography anyway. I prefer to use my conventional camera.
It is heavy. You have damn strong hands if you can hold it. Can't imagine how heavy will it be with a mask on.
Heavier than my previous phone, YES. Heaviest phone yet? NO. I have used heavy phones before. Not a big deal for me.
Yikes.
What happened?
Those phones have bad reputation.
I bought it for the looks. The performance is decent. Nevertheless, if i see it becoming slow even after the suggested remedies, this baby will be sold in no time.
Glad you have a plan.
I really wish the A73 was released in North America. I want one so bad.
A73? Bro, this post is about A55.
Yeah, I'm just saying that the GOAT of the A series was the A73. Also I think that the cameras on the A series are secretly pretty good, but they're never really touted as such. They decided that 2 versions of A series was best. The A7x was the big version back in the day.
A55 has 12 gigs of RAM?! Woow!
Apparently, not available everywhere.
Oh, that explains a lot
It looks like the S24+.
I know, right?.....Wanted to buy that but my budget was tight so got this.
I think this is a better buy! If it looks like a flagship phone but costs a fraction I think this is better.
Thanks! ๐๐ป
Interesting. It looks literally identical to my S23 lmao
The S23 series had somewhat curved sides. This is literally just flat as it is in S24 series. The sides are so flat and sharp that you can cut yourself if you are inclined enough.
Thats a first, cut from the back if your phone lol The edges are flatter than my old phone on this though (A52s), but I can't really compare it to the newer models
It literally looks identical to my S24+
Wow, you are rocking a rockstar already. "Hey, can i copy your homework? Yes, but make it look different so it doesn't look like you copied it." ๐คก
How is the haptics?
Vibration motor is on point.
god damn this a baller A series. more ram than my S23U
lol yeah but probably not as efficient
S23U definitely still faster; but to be real if A series keeps being this good my next phone probably will be an A series
I have my eyes on this. This or A35 or A54 (maybe not since closely priced and A55 has the edge) or Nothing 2A. How's it going so far?
So far so good. Can't keep my hand off of it.
Somehow that phone got more ram than my z flip 5๐๐
Z series is a high end flagship. I am pretty sure that RAM management in A55 won't be as good as it is in Z Flip 5. ๐๐ป
Probably tho and also a bit faster, but still
How has performance been?
It's just been 2 days so can't really comment on that. But so far, its been buttery smooth. I am planning to keep this for atleast 2 yrs and in pristine condition, both hardware and software wise. For hardware, i just have to be careful, put on cover all the times, install a tempered glass, stay away from water and what not. But for software side, I'll be deleting junk files time to time, delete older messages, reboot it once in a while and stuffs like that. I hope it works. Let's see. ๐ค๐ป
Why tho? For that price you can grab an s23 which is on a different planet to the A55.
I could've but it was 180$ costlier
Then the S22 line. S22 ultra 256gb refurb would be less than a55
Probably... didn't think about that
I might go to this when my S20FE takes a dump. No I won't, $1,000??
$1000 for A55?...i don't think so
Still...$500 is a bit crazy for an A series.
I understand...its a bit costlier. Its not offering much taking its price.
Interesting phone! Iโm curious to know how the performance holds up after 6 months
Yes, me too...!! Hoping for the best ๐ค๐ป
Bhai kitne me gira offers laga k

Is it possible to buy in eu 12gb version ?
I have no idea about it. I am in India. Have you enquired in stores or online? Good luck!!
Saw just in india markets online and they ships just for india adress or ebay for like 800โฌ ๐

Is it ice blue ?
Yes, it is
Wich one would you suggest me buying a used s23+ or a55 ?
Flagship any day than premium medium range. If the condition of S23+ is good, then go for it. And it's just an year old so you wouldn't be missing out much.
I have read on the reviews that it has very poor thermal performance, overheats even while using social and productivity apps. Any views on that ?

Is the a55 in one ui 6.1? And has a circle to search thingy like in s24 variants?
No, those features are not there

Bro I bought samsung A35 becoz it came under my budget but it's doing good so far
Great buy. A35 and A55 doesn't have much difference. Same looks, same build but i guess there is just change in camera and processor.
Yeah. Mine is 8gb ram 256 gb storage it's pretty good tho. I'm not a gamer and this phone is suit for me
How is the performance of this exynos? Do you reccomend upgrading from an older a series like a33?
I am also interested in upgrading to the A55 but I am skeptical 'cause of the issues with the exynos chips getting heated. do you think such is the case with this phone too all this time while you've been using it?
It's been 2 weeks since i am using it and there has not been a single instance when the phone heated up. However, do consider the fact that i use it only for light stuff.
Hey a quick question, does it have circle to search?
No, it does not. Its a S series only feature (S22 onwards)
Wait... so the indian 12gb version doesn't have the key island??? I need to take a trip back there xD
No, it IS present. Just not visible from this angle.
Aaah okay! I was thinking India gets ALL the good stuff ๐ because for me the key island is pointless and just makes it harder to press the keys. Do you think the key island has been okay when you use it?
Yeah, it doesn't bother. If you install a case, it literally becomes invisible thereafter.
Mine didnt have charger nor buds, fucking Telcel(Mexico)
Same shit here
Please write a review after the initial settling in. I am very interested in buying this phone and i would like to hear a first hand experience

I talked with Samsung Support and they told me all the variants of A55 have UFS 3.1 storage
Well that's not what the GSMArena says...plus i did a file transfer and it was so slow that i felt i am in stone age.
Holy shit...you are right!! It's embarrassing. I'll try the wireless transfer thing.
As far as i know - 128 gb - UFS 2.X 256 gb - UFS 3.1 to confirm this, download Antutu from galaxy store and run a storage test. Let me know too (I have a 256gb version)
Sure but i am not optimistic about it. I'll let you know.
I don't think Samsung guy knows it!
Please Don't buy this overprice piece of garbage only one which is worth is S23 and S24 series. Samsung Don't focus on their own cheapies.
