HidaTetsuko

William Morris and anyone from the arts and crafts movement. Rossetti and anyone from the Romantics movement.

isabelladangelo

The pre-Raphaelites were the original SCA.

zoey_utopia

Yeah I consider these folks to be the original Medieval Nerds

HidaTetsuko

Many of them went camping too

elspethswannthedruid

Julet Gordon Lowe would be a great scadian, I could see her becoming a pelican

DistortedSquid

Idk if this counts because she's still alive, but Natalie Dormer. She is apparently an excellent fencer, and a lot of the actually historically correct parts of Anne Boleyn's role in the Tudors TV show are things she fought to include or portray a certain way. She knows a lot about history, not just playing it on TV or movies.

Morgan_Pen

I think Charlemagne would have killed it honestly.

houinator

Jack Churchill seems an obvious fit.

ViscountNik

I'm not sure if this fits, but... The New York Giants had an offensive lineman back in 2000 named Glenn Parker who I always thought would do quite well in SCA... 6'5, 300 lbs.  Looked like he could swing a stick and have fun doing it ...

clayt666

He was Count Glynn from Caid (I believe). Met him as Estrella War one year when he was no longer allowed to fight (for contractual reasons). He also played for the Chiefs and Buffalo, IIRC.

ViscountNik

Huh! I called it! 😉

Tannlin

Yes. Earl Glyn ap Rhodri, mka Glenn Parker. Also played in 5 Super Bowls.

wistric

Paulus Hector Mair

Academic-Primary-76

He’s the type to teach a clinic in sickle fighting at 2am. -a student from one of those clinics taught by a great man years after

thenerfviking

I mean the obvious answer is John Hargrave, because in many ways the Kibbo Kift was a forerunner to groups like the SCA. It was a sort of mixture of scouting (in the Boy Scout sense), what we’d now call neopaganism, utopian politics and the general love of dressing like people from the dark ages and running around the woods.

gecko_sticky

Teddy Roosevelt probably would have had a field day with armored combat

TheOtherMaven

C.S. Lewis *and* J.R.R. Tolkien!

wrgrant

William Marshall :)

Academic-Primary-76

Alice Roosevelt.
