[Battle Beyond the Stars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD0tIQMwtmk) is a great Corman watch, with incredible spaceships designed by young James Cameron. It's simultaneously a cheap knockoff and an innovative genre classic.

Yeah, just watching the first ten minutes it looks both massive and cheap. I love it.

Also James Horner's first major soundtrack, which led to him getting work on the Star Trek movies and becoming big.

I am devastated over the loss of Mr. Corman. Though he may have been known to make 'B' movies, he will always be an 'A' list celebrity to his fans. :'(

He's often overlooked due to this link with B-movies but he's been important for cinema with his independent productions.

First Forrey Ackerman, now Roger Corman. Where am I going to get the NEXT "Little shop of horrors" or "The Dunwich Horror", or "Tomb of Ligia"? OR THE TINGLER? where have all the great movies gone?

Yeah, anyone who only knows Little Shop from the musical should really check out the original movie sometime. It's a fun little flick, as well as being infamously filmed in less than a week on a budget that would barely buy a car in 1960.

And BOY does it show!!!

Maybe it’s not his best film, but *Rock & Roll High School* is a classic.

He was a mentor to many directors and stars, his St Valentines Day Massacre is classic with a young Jack Nicholson getting one line in the film.

So many names that are very famous now pop up in his old productions!

I just watched "Galaxy of Terror" few hours ago... Started it few days ago, but finished yesterday. I looked into his Wikipedia page and he was still listed as alive. And now this...
