Can you get some pictures of the leaves? Also did you make sure there wasn’t any poison ivy growing on or near where that tree was

brymc81

Yeah that looks a lot like a seeping rash from poison ivy. Even if the vine has no leaves the stem can cause the same reaction.

schmidt_face

Can confirm. Walked through some of these once and did not have a fun time afterwards.

Sexcercise

RIP OP, they've abandoned post

One-Permission-1811

Wait arent you the person who posted here [asking if a cut finger needed stitches?](https://www.reddit.com/r/seriouslyalarming/s/kLkb7Qf4rP) That was only four days ago. Are you doing OK OP? Having a rough week?

kairu99877

Karma farmer.

throwaway76881224

Nah look at herprofile. She's just having a rough week lol

kiki-mori

Looking at their history it is all over the place

Gemini-Observer

Any giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) in that area by chance?

EyeChihuahua

I got some giant hogweed for ya

Devils_A66vocate

I’m short on weed but a fat hog I can provide.

top_of_the_scrote

what about a small hog in big weed

IzSoopid

That was my first thought. Hogweed is terrible to deal with but that plant doesnt look much like it.

CitizenFreeman

That's what I was thinking. Def looks like a hogsweed blister.

Dissabilitease

I'm not asking to reveal where you live, but this is going to be a tough one to figure out without leaves or location. Searching online for Plant Dermatitis + Thorns + Location hopefully gets you to narrow it down. >*The number of plants that cause dermatitis is legion, and they are found throughout the world...* *...The thorns of a flowering plant or spines of a cactus can penetrate the skin and cause fungal (Sporothrix), bacterial (Staphylococcus aureus), and other disease.* [*https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/plant-dermatitis*](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/plant-dermatitis) The bacterial aspect is quite alarming here and I wouldn't be able to leave this in a good conscience without recommending you see a Doc. They're familiar with anything growing in your area that might have caused this. Take care!

AgentOrangeZest

If you're in the American south east possibly the manchineel tree?

ocean_flan

Oh god we have these here??

GaySheriff

I doubt it's this dried up branch that caused the rash. Probably some other poisonous plant that you brushed against and didn't notice.

GLACI3R

It looks like black locust tree. "Dermatitis can occur in humans after exposure to black locust wood, Robinia pseudoacacia. The leaves, bark, flowers, and seed pods of the black locust tree are poisonous, and contain a toxic substance called robinine. Exposure to the tree's toxalbumins can cause minor dermal effects, such as: wounds, erythema, numbness, and edema." "More severe outcomes can occur after being punctured by the tree's thorns, including: Neurologic symptoms and Local tissue death (necrosis). Symptoms of skin contact with poisonous plants can include: 🔸 Red rash within a few days of contact 🔸Bumps, red patches, or streaking 🔸Weeping blisters 🔸Swelling 🔸Itching"

TipDependent1783

This. The branches depicted really remind me of Robinia pseudoacacia. It's wood/ sap is known to cause irritations and other stuff, in contact with skin.

Specific_Pear_6275

There’s a free plant app called PictureThis that can identify the vine

puddle_divr

The thorns/ bark looks like Black Locust to me. I get a similar rash if I mess with it. I don’t know if it’s a normal reaction, or if I am just hyper sensitive to it. I’ve got a small one growing on the side of my driveway that needs to go, but it’s been too hot here to fully suit up and remove it.

kasperkami

I’d say poison ivy, but it may be posion oak which seeks into anything. Saying this from an individual that can get poison ivy from being around it,(I.e the air) don’t scratch it. At all Edit: don’t puncture the bulb. It spreads. Be like me, be pissed that it wants me to scratch it

Dart2255

That rash is almost certainly something caused by urishol so poison oak ivy or sumac . Not from that branch probably a vine near it though or the tools you used has some of the oil on it

NaturalSuspect5109

Thank you

Dart2255

Don’t poop the blisters let them hear on their own. Taking a hot shower or running your arm under hot water ( as hot as you can stand without scalding) will relieve the itching for a couple of hours at a time… edit don’t pop the blisters though I suppose you also should not poop them either

Rebelo86

Could be angustifolia. Could be honey locust. I think it’s locust.

whosgonnapaymyrent

third photo bottom left virginia creeper possibly? Known to cause skin rashes

Palanki96

ask a doctor dummy, even if it's just sad karma farming

Slovw3

Try [r/whatisthisplant](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisplant/)

s3mtek

It looks like Giant Hogweed burns, you must keep it covered and out of the sun. You also need to go to the doctor for Antibiotics and Steroids and buy some Antihistamines. It's a nasty plant that breaks down the ability of your skin to protect from UV light, and you can end up with third-degree burns just from direct sunlight

Stupid_Bitch_02

Try r/whatisthisplant theyre pretty good at ID-ing plants

coffeequeen0523

Ask r/arborists

THEJUWC

Looks like a bad reaction to an ant bite. Check for fire ants.

TheGreatTruth5

My poison ivy looked just like this!
