I'm normally one to insist you post better pics if we are to analyze the fit and make corrections. However, pic #2 appears to show an unnecessary flair at the armpit. Take the jumpsuit off, and using safety pins (for safety) pin out about 1/2" or so on the double (so, 1" total) right at the armpit. Add a couple more pins not taking in so much, aiming toward that spot where the flair starts. Pin both sides, try the jumpsuit back on, see how you like the fit. Adjust as needed.

Does it make sense for OP to put it on inside out before pinning. I feel like I've learned or seen it done that way?

I have never preferred to do it that way, but it works well for some people.

Works if you're fairly symmetrical, but not if you aren't.

Thanks for your advice !

If possible get someone else to pin it. May seem easier to do it with your arms out but once you drop them it will be too tight so stand as naturally as possible. Get whoever it is to pin both sides tapering it down to waist seam. Once its off measure the amount taken in on both sides and even it out (i.e if one side is 6cm and one 4cm make them both 5cm) Turn it inside out and pin it together along your sewing line and sew it again tapering to waist. If you prefer you can baste it (larger stitches on machine or by hand) to check the fit. Try it on again before cutting off excess.

Waistline seems to be in the right place, crotch looks long enough if you're comfortable sitting in the jumpsuit, but def the bodice sides are too wide. I also notice that the front legs seem to be buckling on your thighs. If that still happens when you're standing at ease with your arms down, you might try pinning a horizontal tuck just below the shoulder seams on the front. With luck the reduced front length will help but won't pull the waistline up excessively. The buckling could also be caused by a front crotch issue, but it's hard to tell from the single photo. If you do end up raising the front at the shoulders, you may need to shorten the waist dart, as it's already running up into your apex when it should end below that. Nice jumpsuit though, and worth some work to make it really stand out.

Thanks for tips! Much appreciated. Yes the jumpsuit is really nice! Got it from Lulu Lemon on sale.

I have this jumpsuit that is too large at the top.. what would be the best way to alter it? I have a sewing machine and general knowledge and tools for sewing and I can be very meticulous, but I’m not sure what’s the best way to alter it. I’ve uploaded close up pictures of the bodice, front and back to show the existing darts and seams. Will appreciate your inputs!

If you haven't hemmed it yet, I swear Lululemon does free alterations/hemming.

I'm looking to hem a jumpsuit from lulu with the same fabric. Do you have any recommendations on working with this type of material? Special settings I should use on my machine?

-MsBrightside-

I ended up returning it 🥹 I was gutted because it sold out, but it would’ve been too difficult to do it myself, and professional alteration would’ve been to expensive.
