It is possible you ARE lvl3 so devs are probably thinking you are new and as you lvl up more when you die they actually get promoted, but since you are lvl3 they think “let’s just give this guy another chance, and make up sum bs to save yo cheeks”

Later on, you stand the chance of loosing Captains to this feature.
I just wish the soldiers had random names like, **STEVE of GONDOR** SAVIOR

During the first chapter, there's a very high chance of Gondorian troops saving you from grunts. Since yknow, you don't have recruited orcs who can.

I'm pretty sure this is possible only when you're in a human occupied city or when you're doing a mission with human companions
I was once saved three tunes in a row by men of gondor surprisingly clutch in the early game haha
