Invent a pump ventilated fire/hot oil proof suit for deep frying workers with these cup tops and like a big hemostat sticking through. Sell that on shark tank with whoever has the best situation to work with 7-11 for those tops.
Easy Beignets Recipe
How to make Beignets
Gather the ingredients: yeast, shortening, sugar, milk, egg white, and flour. Have the oil in a large, deep pot with a thermometer clipped to the side. In a medium bowl, add 2 tablespoons of warm water, ½ teaspoon of active dry yeast, and a small pinch of sugar. Stir this together, and let it sit for 5 minutes to become foamy. In a separate bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of shortening, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 3 tablespoons of whole milk, and the egg white. Whisk very well to combine. Pour the 3 tablespoons of boiling water slowly into the shortening mixture. Test this mixture with a thermometer, and when it is between 110-115-degrees Fahrenheit, stir it into the yeast mixture. Once everything is combined, add 1 ¼ cups of flour and a pinch of salt. When the dough is fully mixed, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise in warm place for 1 hour. You can make this dough up to 3 days ahead of time and store in the fridge. Let rest at room temperature until its easy to roll out and proceed. Meanwhile, heat the oil to 360 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the risen dough on a floured surface, and roll it gently into an 8-inch by 4-inch rectangle. Use a pizza wheel to cut it into 8 pieces--cut it in half first, and cut each half into quarters. You may also make 4 large beignets instead of 8 small ones! When the oil is at 360, drop in 3 pieces of dough. Fry for 1-2 minutes, flip and fry for another minute. Move to wire rack to drain any excess oil, and then toss with powdered sugar. Repeat with remaining dough, monitoring the temperature of the oil to ensure it stays near 360.
Beignet Recipe Easy tips and tricks
Use a thermometer to ensure your oil is at the proper temperature. This is the one that I like. Use a deep pot anytime you are frying to prevent oil from overflowing. You can make this dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days before frying.

I agree. It just needs to be constructed from flame retardant materials so it doesn't get fused to his arm when a grease fire pops off from that dirty-ass stove.
Oh Lord the one and only time I ever had any, it was being used as buns for a hamburger. I don't know what in the Paula Dean possessed them to do this but they shouldn't have. Both tasted great, but that much grease all together as a sandwich...no.
I mean, I don't know anyone who is hard up for food personally...(That sounds a bit insulting about a traditional native American food, to be honest) it's just a traditional bread, and it's really good.
Wait, am I missing something? Yeah it's a fair bit of oil, but...I mean...is it shitty? Because, boy, do I have a story for you about how french fries are made.
It's not about the grease even though that is one factor, it's more that nobody can understand or identify what the food that is being cooked here even is, as I'm not even sure if it's beignets and I'm the OP 🤣
How would you use an air fryer if you're starting with a wet batter? I'm not being accusatory or suggesting you're wrong; I just love what comes out of my deep fryer, but hate the cleanup process. I've never been able to get anything battered to work properly in my air fryer.
You sorta don't tbh, you could use a silicone basket but it's not gonna work that well.
Air fryers are just mini convection ovens that heat up super quick and use much less energy. Super convenient and living alone I've not used my oven except when I have people round.
I’ve been in my apartment for two years and I have never used the oven. I have a million kitchen gadgets (convection oven and air fryer combo included), so I don’t see the need for the oven.
I suppose I could use it if I needed a pizza larger than 12 inches, but on the occasion that I make pizza for a party, I make them to order and just bring them out when they’re ready. Quality over quantity.
Yeah, even a dedicated deep fryer is more convenient. Both a pretty damn cheap. Hell, even a big pot is more convenient. Less splatter everywhere with the higher lip. That's as cheap as it can get.
Luckily, it's a well known fact that you only have to follow OSHA or their "rules" in front of state, local or corporate inspectors and customers you can't intimidate- otherwise you do what works!
Caribbean fry bake/fried bake/johnny cake. Supposed to be cooked like that. End product is not oily at all if you do it right; it's light and fluffy (on the inside).

The grease gauntlet is genius
Grease gauntlet. You should coin that and sell a product like this.
I second this, and send both of us some residuals from the earnings 😃
Bro you invented it lol. Start producing!
....But I'm lazy 🤣🤣
Does that mean you don't have a full suit of this on?
... It's patent pending 🤣

Is that fanta?
It's FANTAstic
he invented it? wtf WE JUST SAW A PICTURE OF IT. What are you suggesting he produce?
Mass producing, make more of them, sell them, profit
it's a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off
The prototype may be janky, but it's more a proof of concept
That's the top actually
Might have to cross post this to r/redneckengineering
Go for it my man

Only at the “as seen on tv” store at dying malls across America!
How can one be so innovative, and at the same time, live with this gross-ass stove top?? 😭
They're deep frying all the time. It will just get greasy again!
By making your own hazmat suit with the empties i guess 😆
Disadvantage on dexterity checks though.
HI BILLY MAYS HERE FOR GREASE GAUNTLET!!
Too bad he'll never be available for this one. Gonna have to settle for the ShamWow guy when he gets out of jail for beating up a hooker.
Damn, had no idea he's been locked up since 2009
It was that long ago? Fuck I feel old now.
My dumbass would accidently end up scooping oil into it and it would melt and burn down my arm knowing my luck...
This name is genius.
I love OP so much for this, totally marriage material with the creativity (if they aren't married yet)
It’s brilliant
I agree. It just needs to be constructed from flame retardant materials so it doesn't get fused to his arm when a grease fire pops off from that dirty-ass stove.
I was just about to post this.
Nice armor
Plot Armor
I'm pretty sure it's polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, also abbreviated as PETE. So, PET armor. But you were close.
Nah, I like PETE Armor better
Maybe PETE and plot armor make a strong combo ![gif](giphy|gvnBUe6e3ZRxC)
Wonder Twin Powers Activate!
You take 1 damage per turn cus plastic
At first I thought he was holding the pan over a soapy sink, and I realized that's just grease sitting on the stove top.
Yummy huh? 😂
Downright scrumptious...
Bannock (frybread) shields.
Ohhhh, you are the first person to maybe identify what this abomination is they were making, I didn't even know, are beignets close?
Its fry bread for sure! super cheap to make, a Native American delicacy
Never even heard of it but that's pretty cool thanks
Haha, I'm from the West Coast of Canada, so it's pretty common, and I may or may not have totally seen people do this irl😅
Oh Lord the one and only time I ever had any, it was being used as buns for a hamburger. I don't know what in the Paula Dean possessed them to do this but they shouldn't have. Both tasted great, but that much grease all together as a sandwich...no.

Why abomination? Are you so unfamiliar with deep frying?
Yes. Both yummy af
Greasy greasy fry bread
Wait, am I missing something? Yeah it's a fair bit of oil, but...I mean...is it shitty? Because, boy, do I have a story for you about how french fries are made.
So it was finally identified as "Fry Bread", a Native American delicacy, directly stated by another couple of commenters
I have to disagree. I still think it's fried green tomatoes
The plot thickens!
Along with our arteries! I'm not complaining, though...
We need Gordon Ramsey.
We need Unsolved Mysteries on this one, or The X-Files
*Ramsay
I knew there was an a in there somewhere
Ah, makes sense then. Fry bread is delicious! I wish it was easier to get Navajo tacos here :(
aren't donuts technically also "fried bread" ?
It's not about the grease even though that is one factor, it's more that nobody can understand or identify what the food that is being cooked here even is, as I'm not even sure if it's beignets and I'm the OP 🤣
NGL, you got me thinking about all the delicious things that can be shallow fried. I sense there may be a funnel cake in my future.
Sounds delicious 😋
Looks like a chicken patty like in an Mchicken
The soda armor is really smart, I just hope the sharp edges on the other side are sanded down! Ouch!
True lol
Chicken patties, maybe
Beignets and donuts are always fried
It ain't stupid if it works
Fried pupusas maybe. Idk why they’d be fried I’ve always seen them grilled on a flattop
Same, pupusas are where my mind went at first. And you're right, they're traditionally cooked on a flat top.
Yeah I don't think it is them, unless they are making them in a very unorthodox fashion
You are a fucking genius for that grease armor on your arm lmaooo
Looks like fried green tomatoes to my southern eyes. Which are amazing!
Omg the bottle.
This is so smart holy moly
Aren’t beignets almost always squares/rectangle pillows
Actually genius I am doing this now
At some point, an air fryer is actually more convenient.
How would you use an air fryer if you're starting with a wet batter? I'm not being accusatory or suggesting you're wrong; I just love what comes out of my deep fryer, but hate the cleanup process. I've never been able to get anything battered to work properly in my air fryer.

Yeah haha, but I'm not even sure what they're making, beignets was a total guess
Reminds me of arepas. Cornmeal fried til crispy, then split open and filled with meats/cheese.
Protect
A food warrior needs its food armor, respect
Invest in a pair of long metal tongs
Please don’t show this to OSHA. They’ll mandate all fried food has to be cooked with some stupid oil burn prevention guard.
Luckily, it's a well known fact that you only have to follow OSHA or their "rules" in front of state, local or corporate inspectors and customers you can't intimidate- otherwise you do what works!
Arepas you fool!

The grease protector can become permanent if you poar the grease directly on it.

I'd say frozen breaded chicken patties that he decided to reheat with oil instead of an oven or airfryer.
Biutiful
Greezy
Smart as
looks like bacalaítos to me. never seen deep frying in action before?
Finally, some good fucking plastic.
Was the pop bottle some flavor of Ohana punch i don't know about?
It looks like it’s Ohana Raspberry Lemonade
Upvoting for grease gauntlet. Reminds me of my old 3.78L fruit juice gravity bong but with safety in mind
Those look like fried green tomatoes
This is a post from an engineer. Not a cook.
Points for the hand guard you made yourself
I’m thinking crab cakes.
I’m so impressed by this innovative grease shield
😄😄😎
Mmm, can almost taste the melted plastics...
Ah plastic in food yum
Too late for that already I’m sure
There's plastic in my balls now. We are far beyond worrying about plastic in food anymore
