Ahhhhh ok so considering the pacers are smushed in there too fucks it up for our season series with ORL. Welp need the hawks to do something useful for once then
Bucks still has something to play for (assuming they don’t beat OKC). So, finger crossed
And Hawks may still play hard, because Trae Young could use another game to get his condition back
But he didn’t play down the stretch in a close game. Since the play in game might be on Tuesday I think the hawks would do something similar against the pacers.
A bucks win pushes the sixers to the 6 seed and keeps the knicks in the 3 so that would be our matchup assuming a pacers win. A bucks loss and knicks win pushes us to the 7 seed and the knicks to the 2 seed so a play-in game win would still give us a sixers-knicks matchup. It seems like it will be sixers-knicks. It’s just a matter if we’ll have to win a play-in game to get there first.
Well, I think the Bucks can easily beat the Magic if they play their starters (minis Giannis). If I were them I'd want to be the 2 seed and not the 3. Especially since the only way to GUARANTEE they don't play us round one is to beat Orlando (as long as we beat BK).
If they drop to the third seed and the Pacers *still* lose to the Hawks then we still get the six seed. And they would have to play us instead of a much easier team like the Magic. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it seems obvious to me that they should try and beat Orlando.
The Bucks can even be the 4 seed which I am sure they desperately want to avoid.
If they lose, and the Knicks and Cavs win, they end up in a tie with the Cavs. Head to head is 2-2 so Tiebreaker goes to division record and the Cavs get the 3 seed.
Bucks have a lot to play for Sunday.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. They probably wouldn't mind the three seed, but they won't risk dropping down to four. That means the Celtics in round two and they don't want those problems that early. Especially with Giannis probably still trying to get 100%.
I want to believe, but I don’t see the Magic losing that game at home after their past few games. Hopefully the Bucks show up - do they have any incentive to win it?
Glenn underperforms with superior talent and overperforms with inferior talent.
So let's just hope that he continues that pattern and we slide into the 6th seed. Because I do not see the Pacers losing to the Hawks.
I think we’re second of three in that scenario but regardless the Magic won their division so they win the first in the three way.
Edit: and then we lose head to head to the pacers.
I thought the same thing as you initially, winning a division means so little nowadays.
Pacers are 3-3 against the Sixers and Magic.
Magic are 2-4 against the Pacers and Sixers.
Sixers are 4-2 against the Magic and Pacers.
TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR MULTI-WAY TIES:
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Division won-lost percentage for teams in the same division
(4) Conference won-lost percentage
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(6) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(7) Net Points, all games
Can someone explain?
For the record (pun intended) we are 3-2 against the Magic and pacers. 2-0 against Orlando and 1-2 against Indiana. I’ve been looking at this crap for days now.
Super lame we lose out to seeding to two shit teams that will go out in 4 or 5 to whoever they play.
And btw we swept the Magic. Losing any tiebreaker to a team you swept is bullshit
I’m butthurt and confused why h2h record isnt the tiebreaker??? Am i missing something
When it’s a 3-way record tie you can’t do H2H. So they have to do weird stuff like division winner and conference record

They’re putting up a great fight against the Timberwolves right now. I think they’ll play hard Sunday, too.

Dont forget the pacers could just fuck everything up
A pacers loss and cavs win (easy game vs cha) would give us the bucks
doc without his star players? let him cook...

Can any of you enlighten me on the Damien's status for the next game?
I want to believe, but I don’t see the Magic losing that game at home after their past few games. Hopefully the Bucks show up - do they have any incentive to win it?
If Doc Rivers has any talent, it’s coaching undermanned teams. The man turns into Popovich without his star player.
Glenn underperforms with superior talent and overperforms with inferior talent. So let's just hope that he continues that pattern and we slide into the 6th seed. Because I do not see the Pacers losing to the Hawks.

Ohhh I see, thank you for explaining. Damn that sucks. Hoping we make it out of the play-in with the bucks or hawks winning.

After the 3 way tie is settled it then goes to 2 way tie rules for the remaining 2 teams. Which we don't have over indy
😭 sucks but I’m glad we are getting hot at the right time. A play in game still scares me but thank god embiid is back. Let’s get this run going.
