Dont know why everyone is complaining pretty easy to read thanks op

A_Huggable_Cactus

No problem! I enjoy playing out these scenarios. The NBA has some odd tiebreakers

shakehasbignuts

We’re pretty much playing the Knicks first round right?

A_Huggable_Cactus

Most likely outcome is yes, but there are scenarios where we get the Bucks or shockingly even the Cavs. For instance if the Bucks and Knicks lose, and Cavs win, the Cavs are the 2 seed. If the Bucks lose and Knicks and Cavs win, Cavs are the 3 seed. In either of those scenarios depending on what the Sixers and Pacers do, we can end up playing the Cavs. Basically it is all still very complicated with only 1 game left.

sixersfan87

The Cavs being 2 and us being 7 might actually be the best seeding scenario for us even though we’d have to be in the play-in game. I think the Knicks have the best shot of the other teams at taking down the Celtics so I’d prefer them to be 4.

Shweter_Weather

Hey OP, if the Bucks, Knicks, Cavs all end with 49 wins, won’t the Bucks still have the 2 seed because they are a division winner? I got confused with this on another thread. I still think we can get the Cavs if we snag the 5th seed with a Sixers win and a Pacers loss. I may be incorrect though. I agree with you these tiebreakers are fun to determine, and it’s crazy how major changes can happen to seeding scenarios with only one game left.

A_Huggable_Cactus

Cavs and bucks are both in the same division and tied head to head. But the Cavs have a better division record, so they would win the division if tied

A_Huggable_Cactus

Waited on the first of the raptors/heat games to finish to post this because it impacted the rest of the chart. But importantly we can somehow still be the 6 seed and have a great shot at avoiding the 8 no matter what.

SerfTint

Fan of a different team (apology), only here to look at the numbers and not discuss fandom. I am under the impression that TOR/MIA does matter if the Bucks, Hawks and Nets all win. Miami would win the division and take the 5 seed, and then doesn't PHI lose 3-way tiebreakers to ORL and IND? Wouldn't the Sixers drop to 8? Thanks for your help and patience.

A_Huggable_Cactus

In this case because Miami wins the division, the Magic no longer lead that three team tiebreaker. They only won before as the division leader. In this case it would go Pacers-Sixers-Magic.

SerfTint

Thank you. If you could do me a huge favor, I need to try to compile these for someone. Can you briefly look through these and make sure they're all correct? If it is too much work, or you just prefer not to, please feel free to decline. Order (i.e., if each of these teams wins): ORL, IND, PHI, MIA (5, 6, 7, 8 seed) WWWW, WWWL, WWLL, WLLL, LLLL: ORL IND PHI MIA WLWW, WLWL, LLWL: PHI ORL IND MIA LWWW, LWWL, LWLL: IND PHI ORL MIA WWLW, WLLW: ORL IND MIA PHI LLWW: PHI MIA ORL IND LLLW: MIA IND PHI ORL LWLW: IND MIA PHI ORL Thank you.

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

Why do we concern ourselves with this?

LiamIsMailBackwards

I’m a fan. Not a 7ft Cameroonian demigod. I like looking at numbers and thinking about possibilities. I can’t make 3s and dissect a defense, but I can look at what OP made and not look like a fucking moron to all the Knicks fans I gotta work with tomorrow. Embiid is gonna dominate whomever he plays against. I’m just glad OP made the playoff possibilities make sense.

InfieldFlyRules

Except OP fucked up his tiebreakers in the other thread, so you probably will look like a moron tomorrow.

Cleanupdisc

English only. Seriously this chart blows. I dont see the sixers. I want english!!!

Basic_Mongoose_7329

Seriously, I don't even know what I'm looking at

A_Huggable_Cactus

If the Sixers were to lose to the Nets on Sunday, the final column shows the seeding outcome for the Sixers based on the other 3 relevant games being played Sunday. Those games are Bucks/Magic, Hawks/Pacers, and Raptors/Heat. If they lose they can finish anywhere from the 6-8 seed.

Thegrandmistressofoz

I thought this chart was easy and intuitive to read, don't know how they can't even interpret this lol

Basic_Mongoose_7329

I get it now, but you need to explain that first. Also, you need to put them in the same order. Columns 3-6 need to be in the same order as 1-3

A_Huggable_Cactus

Oh good catch about the column order, yeah I copied the order from a previous version and it not lining up 1:1 does make it a little more confusing and less intuitive. Though columns 3-6 aren't actually as important as the results and seeding at the end.

Basic_Mongoose_7329

Sorry, one more suggestion. Title the last box "Sixers" Seed. That's where I was confused. Who's Seed are we talking about. Yeah, get rid of columns 3-6

Cleanupdisc

Its rediculous. The whole chart is rediculous.
