Right to Ricky Sanchez did a good spot on this. The franchise hasn't earned fans respect enough to forgoe earning 5x on playoff tickets.

TheRoyaleShow

Yeah like what I'm gonna pay a ton of money and drive down there to watch them forget how to shoot and rebound at the end of the game?

grandchester

Also pricing out sixers fans. NYC has a significant cost of living, much higher than Philly. Playoff tickets are well outside what is acceptable for die hard blue collar fans. NBA should hold tickets during playoffs so 75% of the crowd is home, but they just want money. So the real fans get screwed.

in5trum3ntal

How would that work? Tkt prices don’t go 5x because the nba wants more money. They go 5x because the people who have them are selling them for 5x and people are buying them. The ticket industry as a whole is a scam, f Ticketmaster, bots and scalpers.

rag5178

But the Knicks franchise has?

Barmelo_Xanthony

Lol exactly. They haven’t been out of the 2nd round in over 20 years. Honestly a horrible look for embiid after we’ve defended his dirty play this entire series

Nobodylovesboston

Never would’ve happened in an eagles or Phillies game, never ever

JimmyB3574

An eagles fan would get charged with murder before they allowed a giants fan to run their stadium

Not-a-bot-10

It’s a mix between the Knicks finally being relevant for the first time in decades and Sixers fans being constantly let down. It’s like being in a new relationship with a crazy chick vs dating her for a couple years Not an excuse though, we were only down 1-2 and one of the two losses was straight up robbed by the refs. We had a great chance to even the series and just embarrassed ourselves

heli0sphere

The Knicks haven’t been all that bad since 2020 though. I think it’s because Knicks fans will drop money being that everything is expensive in NYC and Philly is only a train ride away.

upghr5187

It’s not like the Knicks are suddenly good this year. But they have been improving and are more excited about this years team than last years team. Been a while since you can say that for that sixers going into the playoffs.

thewealthmattress

No it is a direct result of the sixers losing every year in the 2nd round and the Knicks finally having a team that relevant. Idk why ppl are surprised Knicks fans showed up lol

LesCousinsDangereux1

tickets are 1/3 the price in Philly. I came very close to going

throwawayjoeyboots

Have the Phillies lost in the 1st/2nd round for a decade straight?

forbin05

No, but thankfully they’ve made the World Series, and won one, in the past 23 years. And the Eagles have made it to multiple Super Bowls, and also won one, in that time as well. Sixers haven’t been to a finals since pre-9/11 and haven’t won one in 41 years. That’s insane. Why should we believe this time is gonna be different? That’s why fans have completely lost faith and I don’t really blame them either.

throwawayjoeyboots

I mean that’s what I’m saying. The Sixers don’t deserve unconditional fan support the way the Phillies and Eagles have earned it. P

forbin05

Gotcha. (Clearly haha) agree 100%

ender23

Also cuz Knicks haven’t been good in a while.  So there’s no intense hate for the Knicks.  More Philly fans would show up to boo ben Simmons than the game today.  So if it was an opponent Philly hated it wouldn’t even be this way

Jako21530

Two decades. If you wanna get really down on the team. Only once since 1985.

le_fez

A few years ago Red Sox, Yankees, and Mets fans would take over Citizens Bank Park every series Definitely wouldn't happen at an eagles game though

MikeTysonChicken

Phillies playoffs a bit different. Regular season it happened, esp when they were bad

caesar____augustus

Yeah that series in 2021 against the Yankees was pretty crazy. It was right after CBP went back to full capacity and it was at least 50/50. My entire section was full of Yankees fans. It was pretty brutal. Phils blew them out though.

NotFroggy

There were so many niners fans at the Eagles-Niners game this year. Like way too many. I’ve been to plenty of games and I’ve never seen so many people from the opposing team.

bloomin-onion69

Eagles & Phillies have earned that support though. Eagles are one of the best run teams in the NFL for 20+ years & Phillies are filled with heart & made playoff runs despite being underdogs.

DickTreeFactory

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The fucking Phillies made it to the WS 2 years ago. Did everyone forget this?

attention_pleas

I’m pretty sure that person’s entire point is that they were underdogs during that world series run. They finished 3rd in the NL East that season

tehFROZENyeti

Exactly right. Sixer fans are tired: we love them but it’s the same shit every fucking year excuse my French

Critical-Adhole

It’s almost as if intentionally putting together the worst four year stretch in NBA history just to draft multiple busts has a negative affect on the fanbase

OmegaRed_1485

It didn't to the Orioles, but their prospects actually panned out.

CoreyH2P

Pretty sure the tanking process isn’t why fans are checked out, it’s the consistently coming up short in the playoffs every year part. No reason to believe this year would be different.

toepherallan

Fair to say that the sixers have given the fans a reason to really cheer for a long time after choking time and time again, and today was no different. Doesn't help the owner and GMs don't run the team like the phillies or eagles. And the owner wants to take the team to Jersey, good riddance.

215engr

in a playoff game I agree this wouldntt happen. but a regular season game for sure it could happen if the team is garbage. don't see that happening though in the near future

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Knicks tickets are prohibitively expensive compared to Mets and giants tickets.

TaeKurmulti

Wish he'd be this pissed off that the team (including him) can't even be bothered to battle for rebounds.

wontonloup8

Fair.. It looks like he’s relying on momentum to carry his moves currently. Starting from a dead stop is beyond his ability level right now unfortunately. No excuse from the rest of the team tho.

Kdrew416

I wanna see Paul Reed at the 4. Even if it’s for 3 minutes. It could be a horrible idea but it’s better than watching what I saw today.

BurntPoptart

Paul Reed is not the answer to this team's problems 😑

Kdrew416

I want him on the floor with Embiid. We’re too short

_bea231

he cant jump anymore + team is smaller than ever before. he's not averaging 10 boards a game ever again

indoninjah

Is it?? We’ve been playing two small guards out of necessity but basically always have two genuine forwards out there. It’s not like the Knicks are a big team either. They play Hart at the 4 ffs

TaeKurmulti

He's 7 foot tall with long arms, you don't need a vertical to get rebounds. Look at how many aging veteran centers can still chase down rebounds. All it takes is effort to chase down boards.

BigTippy

I understand, but with his injury issues - it’s a hard spot mentally to go after boards with the sort of intensity that is required in some of these playoff match ups. He’s always getting tangled up and falling on top of someone, we hold our collective breath a couple times every game when there’s a tumble. It’s a lot of pressure for him. Can’t fully trust his body and he’s so big that the falls can be devastating, he must also know that he can’t get hurt or we’re cooked. There’s too much pressure on him constantly because we have never built a suitable supporting cast around him. The big high effort explosive play he has made was his lob off the backboard in game 2 and it almost cost him the season again. I love the Sixers will all my heart but man, it’s torture sometimes.

Jimbabwr

Yeah he had one bad fall this game and didn’t jump for the rest of the game.

_bea231

He's not even bothering to jump for rebounds anymore.

AmaimonCH

His "rival" Nikola Jokic averages 10 rebounds and he can't jump over a dollar bill. The man needs to put more effort.

ThisHatRightHere

It’s been the whole series. I get Joel’s knee is kind of fucked right now, but it disappointing to see the team just unable to stop second chance points.

BDNjunior

He has 1 fucking knee, he cant battle for rebounds every possession. Hes been boxing out but no one else crashes

MaterialCritical8036

If he cant stay healthy for each year, it is a bit annoying to see the excuses all the time (stomach, concussion, knees, ankles...). It is unfortunate but it is not fair to ask the fans to still be buying the excuses if it happens literally EVERY season for like 6 years.

Genocide_Angel16304

Tim Duncan has been playing on one knee since 2000, still played up to par for over a decade more. What's Joel's excuse?

VerseShadowx

The man has like a six inch vertical right now, what do you want him to do?

WrastleGuy

Everything

realog173

I agree with Joel, but the fans are simply too discouraged to care. Knicks fans on the other hand are excited to finally have a somewhat relevant team after years of irrelevance. That and taking the Amtrak down to WFC is cheaper than getting in the door at MSG.

hushed-shush

Resellers are pricing the common fan in PA out. New York has too many people that are more than willing to pay and afford the high cost. Usually because a game at Wells Fargo is nearly half what a fan would pay in MSG. Joel and the team should be buying and giving tickets out to the Philly fans.

partingtheredditsea

Me after Joel scores 1 point in the 4th quarter of a do or die game: “It’s disappointing. It kind of pisses me off”

Kdrew416

I’ve never seen a Philly team quit more than the 2023 Eagles last year… just saying

IcyAd964

They’ve had more success in this decade than the sixers will ever have despite that bad season so there’s that

Kdrew416

I just think it’s a little over blown. We heard how loud the Wells Fargo Center was when the sixers were lighting it up in game 3. The sixers didn’t give the fans anything to cheer about in that 4th quarter.

Lbmplays2

It’s a lot easier for New Yorkers to go down on a Sunday afternoon than after work during the week mate

River-Rat-1615

This!! I was there for both games- Knicks fans were obnoxious but in game three Sixers delivered and shut them up! Today Embiid and the team can look in the mirror - what exactly did we have to cheer about in the 4th quarter? Missed lay ups; throwing up threes that didn’t have a chance; turnovers, and oh yeah a coach that didn’t recognize that his two starts needed to be rested a little and that maybe anyone would have been okay for a few minutes to save the big guns for the last five minutes! The players make a lot of money, the game is their job. For those of us that support them win or lose it takes a lot to turnover the kind of money we spend for little return. I’m just as pissed as Embiid but I did my job, I showed up; the team didn’t!

Domestic_AAA_Battery

Luckily the off season has gone well. That was despicable. Legitimately some of the worst football I've ever seen. We sometimes looked better in 2020 with 5% of the talent level... And we looked horrible all year too. Almost win was entirely luck-based with multiple turnovers.

muscles4bones

I think we learned why it’s important to hire veteran coordinators with a proven track record when you have more of a “player’s coach” like Sirianni. Penn State and Franklin are the same way, except I think Sirianni is at least capable of managing a play clock and a hurry-up offense.

ohnoyoudidnt21

Someone this game was more frustrating to watch for me. At least that team made the Super Bowl the year prior. This Sixers team just chokes and disappoints time after time

Capt_Cat_Hands

What about the 2015 Eagles?

From_Bynum_to_Embiid

This shouldn't even be a fucking discussion point being down 3-1.

PHLANYC

How about a contingency plan next year. Get an actual C that can play 20-25 mpg and cut Jo’s mpg. I think the move is to sacrifice Jo’s regular season production. Cut his minutes and see if that keeps him healthy enough for a playoff run. Tired of the obvious issue being ignored. Jo can not give us 70 gp at 35 mpg and stay healthy. Let’s try something else other than praying to the basketball gods for a different outcome.

CoreyH2P

Prioritize the backup center position? Noooooo why do that when you can sign a washed Bamba or Harrell and then rely on a middling rookie contract guy like Reed in crucial moments?

IKillZombies4Cash

Watching the sixers is basically waiting for jo to get hurt now, it’s not fun, and realistic expectations are low. I hope they win, I hope he is healthy but it’s like watching a slow moving train crash

Runmiked

Maybe don’t lose in the second or first round every single year. I’ve really enjoyed Embiid’s time here but I’m not sure you can build a real contender around him at this point because of the constant health issues.

Admirable_Essay3440

The org has also let him down by surrounding him with garbage and taking away the one player he liked in Jimmy and wasting the next 5 years with Tobi!

Runmiked

Completely agree with that. The supporting cast has been mediocre at best post Jimmy. I’m not judging Embiid for being injured or unhealthy at playoff time either. It sucks but you can’t build around that uncertainty.

Admirable_Essay3440

This is the first year Embiid had a real coach but Kuminga “fell” on his knees so that was that for the MVP season he was having until then. He has no protectors. He’s the only line of defense against everything. Imagine how tiring it is for him. He could easily ask for a trade.

McBrungus

He was hurt well before Kuminga fell on his knee. Agree with the rest of it, but sounds like it had been an issue for.most of the year

WeirdLitIsBetter

Yeah, I don't want to use Tobias Harris as the scapegoat, but I sincerely believe that if we had any other similarly rated PF for these years our history would be drastically different.

Gamemusic6

There is no reason Sixers should've lost to the Hawks in a Game 7 at home, as well as the Celtics in Game 6 at home. That shows y'all had no dawg in y'all.

LionelHutz802203

This is the key point. All blame aside, the centerpiece of the franchise was in a place to close out two key series and games. He didn't get it done. Trash supporting cast aside, it was RIGHT there for him. Failed.

rodrigoa1990

> 5 years with Tobi! Feels like 20

FatBottomGurley

I feel the same way....I don't think thus dude will ever win a championship regardless of the team make up..he's probably one of the greatest regular season players ever but by the time the playoffs cone around he's got nothing left...it is what it is but it's a common theme at this point.

cvc4455

The way they built around him this year was basically throwing away a year by looking at what they did. They basically only signed or traded for players that would be free agents or have unguaranteed contracts after this year. Only Embiid and Reed are signed after this year and Reeds contract isn't guaranteed if we do lose in the first round of the playoffs. So it could just be Embiid with a guaranteed contract and we'll give Maxey a max contract but that will be after we make any other signings so we can go over the cap to resign Maxey. So basically the team was put together this year not with the best players possible but with the best players that only had a year left on their deal so we'd have the most flexibility possible this coming off-season. Since we basically threw away this year to maximize next year I think we need to take one more chance at putting a real team around Embiid and Maxey. We need to draft Bronny James and call LeBron James bluff on if he's really gonna go to whatever team gets Bronny so they can be on the same team before LeBron retires.

IcyAd964

You’re right on the money somewhat. We need to blow it up and draft a generational talent that’s a dawg like an edwards kinda guy. Hopefully we draft a generational guard one day or any talent for that matter, but alas nba drafts are dogshit 9/10

gr33nalways

We have a potentially generational guard?? Maybe not #1 on a title team level potential but easily #2

BigPoleFoles52

Been saying this for years. Joel is an amazing player but he is only getting older and players with his build tend to get hurt a lot The org has def fucked him over a bit with mismanagement, but might be better for both for them to part ways. I dont think embiid can lead a team to a championship but he can 100% help facilitate one

RomanDeltaEngin33r

And you can be 100% certain he ain’t gonna use that as fire to do damn shit.

sjm320

Stop supporting this organization.

thegoodnamesrgone123

Don't move to Chinatown you dont deserve you're own stadium

Just-Photograph1890

More importantly, they’re going to alienate a large swath of fans as tickets will be more expensive and there’s no where to park. I’m not coming from Jersey if it’s in Chinatown. It just doesn’t make sense.

throwawayjoeyboots

Of course the toxic positivity dorks are now taking out their anger on the fans. You all can’t just admit you simp all year for an organization and players who let you down every single time and time and time again. Your delusion has gotten you nowhere and there’s nowhere else to point the fingers.

The_New_New

Lmao, there are people who say act like being a true fan means always being positive about it. As if Eagles fans don't bash the team, decisions etc at times, but they are passionate regardless Honestly those type of fans are just mad you are ruining their vibes, but don't want to say it. I am fine with people being optimistic as long as they aren’t trying to aggressively silence others who aren’t. There’s quite a bit of “positive” fans who tend to be fairly aggressive when demanding positivity

Domestic_AAA_Battery

100000%. I never understood that. People will blame fans and coaches and almost never the players that are *actually playing the fucking sport*. That's like being an esports fan and blaming a loss on your team's controllers. "Man, fucking Razer! If only they used Logitech they would've nailed that headshot!"

hoagieclu

i got downvoted a while back for saying that i stopped watching once embiid went down earlier this season. like idc if it makes me a fake fan, i’ve watched enough losing over the years to just be done supporting a bad product. that’s one of the reason you have knicks fans flooding wells fargo, not a lot of people believe in them anymore. can you blame them?

PessimistSixersFan

This probably doesn’t happen if the Sixers weren’t constantly disappointing

terententen

Let’s see, make a quick hundred bucks selling your tickets or watch the Sixers choke in the playoffs for the umpteenth time in a row?

lilbismyfriend21

This is a lame response. A chance to tie up a series and we can’t even have home court advantage because a bunch of season ticket holders would rather make an extra buck instead of going to the game or selling to a sixers fan. What happened in the arena the last two games is nothing short of embarrassing

thebobbyshaw33

I’d argue Game 6 against Boston was the final straw for a lot of people with this team and I wouldn’t blame them.

gezerim00

> 1 chip. chip? man i am okay with conference finals

BigTippy

Exactly, let’s walk before we can run. We are nowhere near a chip. Let’s make the fucking conference finals first then talk about chips. We’ve woefully underachieved over the past 5 years. Imagine someone telling you after the Raptors title year that it would be 2024 and we still wouldn’t have sniffed a conference finals? That may have been the peak of this Sixers era sadly. It pains me deeply but the reality of this era of Sixers basketball gets bleaker every season.

River-Rat-1615

Were you there? I was and what was most embarrassing was the way the Sixers played, especially in the 4th. It would not have mattered how many Knicks fans were in the house if the Sixers had played like they should have those Knicks fans would have been quiet! Bad passes, bad shots, bad coaching, just plain bad!

PessimistSixersFan

I think my answer is reasonable, if the team were better and not dishing out constant heartbreak people would find a way to show up and support You don’t see this happen to the Phillies and Eagles because they’re not this much of a letdown

KryptonicxJesus

It’s hard to argue against selling 1-2 games to pay for all of next year

dioitwasme

Are they making 5 figures for selling these tickets lol

phillyfandc

Did you personally not sell your tickets?

LiveLaughLebron6

You think the ticket holders cared who bought the tickets? Lmfao

rob105100

The point is to get them to real sixers fans. The majority of season ticket holders aren't real fans. * At least not die hard fans

PessimistSixersFan

How would ticket holders be able to reliably get these to Sixers fans? How does one go about vetting a persons fandom?

lilbismyfriend21

By not selling them on secondary markets. A lot of college football programs have rules where if you get caught selling on secondary markets twice you get your season tickets revoked. Not saying that’s what the sixers should do, but that’s a way to vet

Specific-Economy-926

Spent almost $1k to go to your MVP game last year Jo. You shit the bed. Tell it to Josh Harris.

jewdreammachine

What people dont seem to get about the phillies and birds is that even when they are playing like garbage they own it. Last year’s eagles were horrendous, lets not pretend otherwise. However, after each tough loss you could bet that locker room interviews all the players blamed themselves and said they played like garbage. They owned it and it felt genuine. For the phillies when trea was ass last year, we gave him heat but he owned it in interviews and we learned he was in the cages till after midnight trying to better himself. He earned our respect hence the SO he got. We like when our players show heart and that draws us to the stands. With the sixers, other than Maxey i just don’t see heart in the team. Embiid always just gives up but thats my opinion

DisGuyFawks

This pretty much guarantees a 4-1 Knicks series win. Embiid gonna come out and mope next game.

NotJustSomeMate

Can Lurie also buy the Sixers and Howie run them too???

DemonsReturns7

Now it’s time blame the fans huh? The problem between Brunson and Embiid/ Maxey is that he consistently plays to his strengths whereas those are two don’t….. often at times during games they do things that makes you question the thought process there And then at the trade deadline The Pacers and Knicks were aggressive going for difference makers type players in Siakam & OG while we got buddy who just got DNP and forgot how to shoot (now I won’t clown the Sixers too much because I don’t know behind the scenes stuff with trades) but to my eyes they failed to get difference maker type players…

Black_Dumbledore

I mean, he’s right. I’m glad he was honest about it. Having away players hyping up the crowd in your building during a playoff game is absolutely embarrassing. I also don’t think he’s necessarily blaming the fans here, just acknowledging that it was frustrating. It’s not worth getting all defensive over y’all.

philly-buck

Disappointed and pissed off, Joey? Welcome to the club.

DisGuyFawks

Loser mindset

No-Reach-8074

Loserrrr organization

tehFROZENyeti

Fans are tired. This would never happen at an eagles or phillies playoff game because they’ve actually got farther than the second round. I love my sixers so much but it’s legit the same shit every year man. Every. God. Damn. Year.

LionelHutz802203

I'm sorry, was it the dudes in Section 117, Row 12 that got all those rebounds? Was it the folks in Section 202 from Queens that went scoreless in the last five minutes? No. It's this stuff from Jo and the whole team that drives me nuts. They are not a serious organization or team.

philsphan26

Every year it’s the same BS with Embiid. He’s always tired , no endurance etc. it’s old at this point

JDameekoh

Didn’t he score 1 point in the 4th? Were mad too cuzzo

Weak-Cable-4672

Joel doesn’t realize what a generational pussy he was in game 6 and 7 last year. Keep chasing those regular season awards

Physical_Anybody_748

What’s disappointing is having an MVP caliber player who gets hurt EVERY year dude. When do we get a season where this dude carries the team to the finals? Let’s be honest that’s what separates good from average teams. He has the potential but dude has SOMETHING every year come playoff time.

Shweter_Weather

Shotout to the Sixers fan in front of me who stayed calm when a Knicks fan flipped the bird an inch from his face and screamed “f you.” There was also a 5 year old kid in my section chanting “fuck embiid” every time Joel went to the line. Where was his dad? Right next to him chanting the same thing. 😬

Original00King

Lets be real… we do the same shit 😂

JF803

As we should; as they should.

HussellCrowe

Man this is what we do and what we encourage our kids to do.

Shweter_Weather

I don’t understand the pride in that. Kids shouldn’t be modeling that shit. It’s embarrassing.

zz_x_zz

> There was also a 5 year old kid in my section chanting “fuck embiid” every time Joel went to the line. Where was his dad? Right next to him chanting the same thing. 😬 You ever been to Philadelphia man?

NotAriGold

They'll go back to being Yankees fans in two weeks

phasesofthe

Tragic

InsideYoWife

There was also a time a couple years ago when a couple Sixer fans kept calling Melo “boy”. 😬

Cjs8181

I mean Embiid is out here half blind on one leg scoring 50 points without being able to pick his feet up off the ground and you have scumbags on Reddit saying we should trade him or we can’t build around him or whatever other asinine internet hot take you want to spew for likes. Bottom line is this team has awful ownership, has for decades, and hasn’t built a winning team since Julius Erving; we failed Allen Iverson who died every night on the court; we’re failing Embiid who dies every night on the court; I’m not telling anyone not to be frustrated but aim it where it’s deserved; straight to the top of the chain. It’s ownership and somewhat morey; it’s not the players or Nick nurse, they’re not going out there trying to lose.

illadelphia_

I used to enjoy this sub, but people are so quick to forget what it was like before Embiid. The only reason we get to even be disappointed at the end of a season is because Embiid brought life back into this franchise. Did works through every injury at the end of a season to try and drag this team through playoffs. Then will parrot about one bad game or even one bad fucking quarter without give credit to his performance and effort as a whole, and we can’t even show up to support the team as we boast about our proud fan base.

nanonanu

Not him blaming the fans

Calcutta637

Me too Joel

WrastleGuy

Knicks haven’t been good in forever and they are very close to Philly.  This was inevitable.

Whatmovesyou26

And he had a single point in the 4th quarter. Way to come up really fucking small

suprise_oklahomas

Who the fuck would pay that kind of money to see this team play?

Just-Photograph1890

I am old enough to remember when the MVP who falls down repeatedly scored 1 point in the 4th quarter of a pivotal home game. Don’t give us that trash Joel.

dantonizzomsu

Fan blaming is the start of excuses on why he can’t get it done in Philly and will want out / trade to another team.

hibbjibbity

Brother, YOU are the reason. nobody truly loves the sixers anymore like they do other philly teams. we watched him completely give up against boston last year on the home court. you lost a lot of sixer fans wit that one

robeyn10

he is also the only reason we’ve been remotely relevant over the last decade

PearlsofRon

I mean. Both things are true. He's the only reason the sixers are relevant, but he's also never taken over a series that wasn't against a massively inferior opponent 🤷

CupAdministrative710

I’m a season ticket holder. My tickets are $45 a piece for the first round. If someone wants to pay $300 a ticket for my seats for the 1st round, I’m gonna let them. Me being there isn’t gonna help the Sixers rebound. If you care so much, you buy season tickets.

Goldzinger

Thug life

gezerim00

> Me being there isn’t gonna help the Sixers rebound true

cool939393

Maybe don't let opposing team get 6 offensive rebounds in one possession and try not choking in playoffs every year. But ofc it's on fans lol. Bro literally got owned by two midgets in Trae Young and Brunson. Superstar my ass.

zz_x_zz

It pisses everybody off but there's a lot of causes and it's beyond any one person's control. The only thing Joel can do in that situation is use it to motivate himself to win the series so we don't have to play a giant city that 90 minutes away.

RustyShackleford454

Too many fans learned their lesson paying playoff prices the last few years..........

heavyslimereal

Michael_bubble

iCantCallit

It’s always an excuse with this organization.

Bkenny1889

Shut up embiid, try winning. We will be there when you do. We are sick of the mediocrity

hagetaro

You could tell the window was closing this year. Rebuild around Maxey?

ExileOnBroadStreet

Sixers fans don’t want to hear it, but Maxey is not the caliber of player you build around unless he takes another huge leap.

DisGuyFawks

lol I said it before the draft this year and got downvoted to hell. Embiid was peak value then

I had seasons in 20-21 and went to about 30 of the 41 home games, mostly selling Lakers games or friday/Saturday games to subsidize. If I was given the chance to sell tickets when we were 0-2 for 5X sticker and to recoup 20% of my SEASON (you know, filling the stands on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) tickets per game, I'd be doing it too and so would most people on here. If you wouldn't you're either rich or bad at math - either on ticket returns or odds of success. This sucks but is life as a sixers fan and will continue until we don't have a max tied up on a mid role player when the rest of the league can fill a roster efficiently.

Play better. The bank in October is the best stadium in baseball, same market. the consumers aren’t the issue, the product is.

Bro… it was Ben Simmons, then James Harden, now no one to blame you start blaming the fans?

I mean I wish he would've said this after game 2 not now but he is absolutely right even if some fans in here don't want to hear it and feel called out lmao.   Having a Knicks fan front row jumping up after ever shot is fucking embarassing. Having Carmelo front row like its a damn Knicks home game is fucking embarassing.   Personally I put this more on having an owner that doesn't give a fuck about anything other than money.

Bdawksrippinfacesoff

I thought teams could limit the zip codes allowed to buy tickets.

lasco10

Also probably has to do with the fact that the tickets in Philly plus the train ride is probably much cheaper than tickets in nyc.

buc_nasty_69

I don't think I ever seen a Philly home crowd get taken over like that. This organization is an embarrassment to the city at this point.

Aggravating-Nature16

He played to F Embiid chants on home court but entire comment section is about how the team doesn’t deserve to have fans. Look in the damn mirror

PhillyT

you do see this with the phillies lol, they are finally good for the first time in a while, If we have a big series against the mets, the same thing would happen

Kruckenberg

Both are right. Fans are right to not want to spend money to see us when our playoff performances are like this, year after year. It's not even the fucking losing, it's the way we lose. Just shit effort, execution, etc. Sixers players also right to be pissed there were so many Knicks fans. The corollary would be "yeah it's great having so many Knicks fans here at \[at our home game\]". The environment was fucked for both games, it was embarrassing for us as a sports city (even if there are justifiable reasons). Like, did you hear the MSG? Or OKC? Goddamn.

“How every New York Team is fucking garbage” Yeah ight bro😹 go cry

It was nearly $300 to be in the building on StubHub after fees. I can stomach that for a Conference Finals game, but for a 1st round game, not so much.

LooseEndsMkMyAssItch

Embiid, you are the best brother, but tell your franchise to get their respective shit together

bossman757

I get what Jo is saying, but he needs to at least understand *why*. Fans usually get burnt out after 82 games as it is, even without the stink of previous failures. We don't live in a vacuum - given recent history, you cant blame fans for not feeling 100% bought in for 6-8 more weeks

RRJEB

Pricing prevented me from going.. I didn't want to pay $200 for a first round playoff ticket.. im usually looking for center court 200 level.. last year I think I paid just under $100 for the first playoff game vs the Nets.. the previous year I paid about $120 for a 2nd round game vs the Heat.. High priced Sixers tickets are still probably cheaper than tickets in NYC.. for instance.. NYC minimum wage is $16/hr, PA/Philly is $7.25/hr

seebegee

The fans sold away home field advantage. We have the right to criticize the team and they have a right to criticize us when we don’t show up.
