Could someone explain why jzargo is liked so much ?? I get he levels with the player but he kind of only uses lightning magic and that's it, at least for me
"There is much for J'zargo to be sure of. There is skill in magic, there is charm, and there is a strong will. J'zargo will be successful, of this there is no doubt."
The fact all you did was put a cloth over your cat’s head, and it was instantly the perfect cosplay, and everyone instantly knew who you where talking about.
I'm in the middle of a wake and bake so leave me alone 😭😭 but the confusion I had was real 😹 I have only played it on switch so far so I'm thinking those are pc modded graphics lol so lifelike
Yea, Serana's definitely my favorite. The first time I played the Dawnguard questline and discovered you can't marry her (vanilla) was a kick in the nuts, but of course, if you pay attention to the lore of her story, you probably understand why.
Bitch can’t die and is a competent stealth/combat mage. After my 5th game I realized she made me lazy. I lover her character, but she’s kinda broken as a follower.
One thing i loved about the Rigmor of Cyrodiil, Beyond Skyrim Bruma mods is you get to personally beat the shit out of Molag Bal
The whole time I was in that fight I was like “THIS IS FOR SERANA YOU PIECE OF SHIT”
Honestly you not being able to marry her is kinda understandable after all the shit she went through. I usually let her chill in my house cuz she needs some rest.
"It's so bright out here :'( That must be the great weather of skyrim. Can we go inside now? But not in a cave? NOOOO I DON' T LIKE CAVE! Can we go away from here? In a tavern or, like, into a cave?"
Yeah, but every single instance of the "Wow, this place is beautiful, I'm glad you're here with me" quote causes the annoyance built by all of her previous weather comments instantly disappear.
Yes, and no. I could see it both ways. After being basically forced into ritual r@pe by a Daedric lord by her own father, then being abandoned by same father for his obsession of fulfilling a prophecy, and then being forced to participate in killing him, she's just too 'scarred' to have any notion of marriage or a family of her own. She has dialogue that says something about she'd be too afraid to go into a temple, and she's happy with her relationship with the Dragonborn as it is. But, I could also see the argument for the much more rosy outcome where she cures her vampirism, puts it all behind her, and rides off into the sunset with the Dragonborn. The game devs obviously didn't like option B.
Let’s not forget family dynamics we’re not exactly healthy. She’s like that kid who constantly says “man I wish my parents would get a divorce, they need it”
Exactly, one could justifiably assume that she would start a new chapter and be open to romance after being cured.
And the whole thing about being scared of temples is wild because she had no problem being in the temple when I married Ysolda.
I think we just have to face it that Serana has issues with her self-esteem and, therefore, doesn’t think that she is worthy of being with the Dragonborn. That was a common theme among women with daddy issues back when I used to get involved with them 😂, so that’s what I tell myself about Serana.
I gave Erik the Slayer a chance. I thought we'd take down the World Eater together and unite Skyrim under 1 banner. I was a fool. He abandoned me during a slap fest with a hagraven, and now he'll work on my farm just outside of Rorikstead for the rest of his life. Always begging for another adventure every time I swing by to collect payment.
My answer is an armored troll. They won't break your heart.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Lydia.
That being said. I do not like having a follower since I play as a stealth assassin. Having a follower ruins the immersion.
I do not have a favorite follower either. Unless death thrall is allowed.
Stats-wise the Housecarls are absolute damage sponges with a very good level cap of 50 compared to the majority of followers, there’s a reason why you’re given Lydia so early.
Lydia is always in the way, too aggro and she shot a fucking fox for no reason that had a name(i dont remember the fox's name, maybe peaches? Or something but i saw the name and got closer and she shot him with her bow right in my face, so I kinda killed her on the spot lol Replaced her with janessa asap and Lydia asked to be the person that stays at my manor so now she protects Lakeview and doesn't die cuz she saw a bear halfway across the map and now is dead lol (I save like every 2 minutes so going to a save where she is still alive isn't a big issue for me)
Teldryn Sero is the best by far. He's actually intelligent, has great vanilla commentary, and uses his skills appropriately. Serana is the simp choice.
Imo, Serana is not really a "follower" she a main character like an NPC player character. Every elderscrolls game is about you the player, but the dawnguard dlc is about Serana and that elderscroll on her back is her profacy. She is a follower but you're kinda her follower too in some cases throughout that dlc.
I hired him for the first time last night to help me haul some loot across the Rift and he’s fantastic! My character is a warrior so having a mage is a great combo, and he’s really competent with his lightning spells. I also love his dialogue when you want to trade items, the way he mutters ‘oh very well, make it quick’ is endearing.
Kharjo is the best character in the entire game so definitely him. He’s the only character that acknowledges how dangerous his mission is, and that he doesn’t want you to help him if it’d risk your life.
“Be careful. I miss my amulet, but a life cannot be replaced as easily."
I had Erandur with me when I went to Dimhollow and they turned on each other during the boss fight. I guess it makes sense since he’s a priest and she’s a vampire, but it wasn’t ideal.
Erik the Slayer, despite him being a cheeky shit and charging for his services I like to pretend I'm taking him under my wing and teaching him how to be an adventurer.
Her or Kharjo. Kharjo you can get by grabbing the amulet he wants back and he’ll be your follower. It’s kinda hard to find his traveling caravan, but I know I found him in Labyrinth and Dawnstar
Kharjo was my first long-term follower and I love him. My only complaint is that I won’t give him helmets because they’d squash his little ears 🥺 and I’m a console player so I can’t get a mod for it
Inigo. Every time I jump in water he tells me to catch dinner. Tonight he told me to hurry up and finish looting so we could leave a ruin. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also I rather enjoy Vorstag. He's always nerding out about the Dwemer.
Argis is my favorite silent murder machine.
i mean... i vibed the best with Jenassa, although she did die a hundred times in our many battles, and one day i decided to let her rest in peace for good and moved on.
https://preview.redd.it/1e8casiv0b8d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ddfa17814fc352d083defddc4706811f205c0824
Him, without a doubt the funniest badass spellsword mercenary you can hire .
100% my favorite, I have here alongside Faendal a d the three of us are known as the Dragonborn Triad in my game walktgrough, bandits and draugrs and necromancers tremble when they see us coming! Specially when they see Serana's Ice Spikes or my Lightning bolts spells / flaming sword (I use a Dragonbone sword of Emberfire which does 40pts of fire damage) and Faendal's Ebony explosive fire (crossbow) bolts...
Cosigned. His redemption arc is peak, he's handy in a fight and all the little comments he makes about the places you take him are just adorable. I also love that he has nice things to say about just about every location except Windhelm. No one likes Windhelm, not even this sweet, Dunmer cinnamon roll.
Not a fan of followers tbh. But I do just want to talk about why Serana is such a popular follower. She's just the best written character that is a follower. She has the most story and dialogue than any other follower in the game. I remember reading somewhere that people think Serana was a prototype companion that would eventually become the companions in fallout 4. Which makes sense imo. Every follower in 4 has a story and a quest tied to their story. Serana has that which really helps you bond with that character.
Rn I have BOTH Illia and some goblin as followers. It’s great. The two of them are such great support when I put my heavy armor on and start slicing
Illia dual wielding ice spikes literally sends bandits and beats *flying*
Except when Barbas knocks you off of ledges. “Ok boy. I’ll give you pets later. Go over there. No Barbas! I’m trying to sneak a shot on that Falmer Warmong….(falls to death)” 😆
Lydia with improved follower dialogue, Remi, Daegon Legacy version, Sa’Chil, Auri, Dzarkim (funny af), Flint the Minotaur (although not used him yet - looks well made and funny), Baba Yaga, Insect companions (funny af), Light and shade - Eris…to name a few, not got as far as recruiting Serana yet but probably worth a mention with SDA and a few others I’ve left out
Valdimar!
His battle style for the early game is fantasticly unique.
Nord battle mage who uses oak/stone flesh, ice spike, restoration, turn undead and can hold his own with one handed when the battle gets close up.
Not much in the way of personality, typical noble Nord housecarl dialogue (comes with wonderful moustache)
I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new early game follower to become Thane of Morthal and give him a try!
He scales until level 50 like all Housecarls.
https://preview.redd.it/addjhac27c8d1.jpeg?width=747&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc4ee942ef6cde1c35d9918980dccdcccac1b55f
Yes, who would've guessed ? Someone randomly pull this good ol' Adelaisa Vendicci from nowhere.
Just love the idea to have an experienced soldier from the Imperials being competent in other things than just "bam bam hurt you hard" ( she have some stats in stuff like Alchemy or Smithing ), you can imagine that when she's not with you in a town she's trading or selling stuff. Makes you feel like you're with a person and not a tool for battle, yes she is really weak and doesn't have a lot of dialogues but hey, I love her type of voice ( French version) and the little bits of personality she shows in her quest, wish we could've gotten a bigger development in her character, like many other followers. 🥲
And if I need to pick a more popular one it shall be my boi Deerkhetus 😎
Janessa. She is the best combat archer in the the game. She has hunters discipline, so she picks up alot of arrows. At any give time she has all kinds of weird arrows. She has a pleasant dialogue. She has flexible morals, as she helps me with being a criminal, she does not care who I kill or what crime I commit. She dual welds, which makes her invaluable versus the Forsworn, she cuts them down. She can also pick master level locks. And finally, she seems to want to always be with me.
Just my opinion.
Well my first comment was removed because the NSFW bot thought that my SFW picture of Misty Skye was NSFW lol.
Anyway, it's Misty, Serana, Mjioll, lydia and then the Wild Nymph just for kicks.
Illia. She womps everything with her ice spears, will typically use any light armor I provide, and doesn't break my stealth attacks. Tough, powerful, doesn't gripe, and tactically sound.
Honestly? Hear me out. Iona the housecarl you get from Riften is my #1. I don’t know why. I just love her. She’s gotten me out of some bad situations. 😂
J'zargo is my number one dude forever.
He's the man! I named my guitar after him
I named my cat after him and everyon just calls him jiz
lol poor lil guy.
Poor Lil jiz
Lucky lil guy imo
Me too!!
J’zargo the goat
Just started a new game after a couple years long break. Just got Lydia but will be getting J’Zargo shortly.

J'zargo wonders if you can help him with something
The fact all you did was put a cloth over your cat’s head, and it was instantly the perfect cosplay, and everyone instantly knew who you where talking about.
It wasn't my actual picture, so i can't take credit, unfortunately . (Your point stands true, though)
My dumbass was like "whoah they really changed the graphics on this one" hahahaha but it's a real cat!
Bruh
I'm in the middle of a wake and bake so leave me alone 😭😭 but the confusion I had was real 😹 I have only played it on switch so far so I'm thinking those are pc modded graphics lol so lifelike
That's fuckin great 😂 I love it 😭
Khajit has wares if you have coin.
My humor is too far gone. Whenever someone says a Skyrim quote I just die
She's not the only invincible follower in the game, but I completely agree with what you're saying.
I have never used followers until this playthrough I'm doing now. Who else is invincible?
The companions leaders before the end of the quest line and Mjoll are the ones off of the top of my head
You said that really weird, but I know exactly what you mean.
One thing i loved about the Rigmor of Cyrodiil, Beyond Skyrim Bruma mods is you get to personally beat the shit out of Molag Bal The whole time I was in that fight I was like “THIS IS FOR SERANA YOU PIECE OF SHIT”
Also in the Vigilant mod too, so you can do it twice
You also get to do it canonically at the end of the base game Main Quest in ESO.
I thought that game wasn't canonical? EDIT: NVM, the game's canonical.
Honestly you not being able to marry her is kinda understandable after all the shit she went through. I usually let her chill in my house cuz she needs some rest.
After sleeping in a cave for 1000 years?
The method of which she became a vampire was very traumatizing
I’d love Serana if she didn’t complain about the weather ALL THE TIME…
"It's so bright out here :'( That must be the great weather of skyrim.
![gif](giphy|3o7TKB3oifq46DDhOE|downsized) Mfw I can’t marry the vampire goth girl with daddy issues
On Talos!
"Oh a cave. I wonder what's in there" we just went through there Serana you know this!
It would make sense to have been able to marry her after curing her of her vampirism though
But, I could also see the argument for the much more rosy outcome where she cures her vampirism, puts it all behind her, and rides off into the sunset with the Dragonborn. The game devs obviously didn't like option B.
I could fix her
Let’s not forget family dynamics we’re not exactly healthy. She’s like that kid who constantly says “man I wish my parents would get a divorce, they need it”
Exactly, one could justifiably assume that she would start a new chapter and be open to romance after being cured. Bro took the safest choice ever made by mankind
Teldryn Sero. When I first met him, I knew I'd never go back to Lydia.
Same. Bro is a beast.
Based dunmer, imo he has the most interesting lines, best spells, coolest armor and a simple but cool backstory.
I never even gave Erik a chance. I just had a chance you couldn’t take that small town crofter boy out of him. He takes care of my farm just fine now.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Lydia. That being said. I do not like having a follower since I play as a stealth assassin. Having a follower ruins the immersion. I do not have a favorite follower either. Unless death thrall is allowed.
She has blocked to many doorways in her time. But stats wise she is great.
Stats-wise the Housecarls are absolute damage sponges with a very good level cap of 50 compared to the majority of followers, there’s a reason why you’re given Lydia so early.
Lydia is always in the way, too aggro and she shot a fucking fox for no reason that had a name(i dont remember the fox's name, maybe peaches? does Teldryn Sero count. I have on multiple occasions completely restarted a dungeon because I accidentally killed him
He only gets killed when my dumbass tries to fight enemies with way higher level than me.
Cicero… unkillable, funny af (yeah I know some of you think he’s annoying lol) , dual wields like nobody’s business
Let's kill someone!
Here for Cicero!
Cicero stans rise up!
Based
Dude keeps me laughing the entire time he’s with me.
He would die for you and entire time is praising you
And when I spy a chirping bird, I'll snap its neck before it's heard.
i love him
Teldryn Sero is the best by far. He's actually intelligent, has great vanilla commentary, and uses his skills appropriately. Serana is the simp choice.
He also has commentary for a bunch of the holds across Skyrim. He also likes Riverwood, should you take him there.
you should try ralis sedarys someday. he's actually cracked asf
But when you think about it he did kill a bunch of miners on his own
1 he was more or less possessed by a daedra and 2 he's one of the best followers in the game so i couldn't care less
>daedra Dragon Priest actually - and one that's was a ridiculously skilled mage when still alive at that.
ah yeah dragon priest he kinda had a moment of horror when he woke up lol, but he is probably the best dual wield dps
Ralis? Don’t you have to kill dude?
You get the option to spare him. I always choose to end him though.
Oh yeah you do I forgot cause I always kill him
I spare him, then use him as a sacrifice for boethia lol. Fucker wants to screw me over, let's see how you like it.
That’s what I did too! Nobody deserves getting sacrificed more than Ralis!
Playing with him as a follower now. The mans is READY TO FIGHT
serana aswell, she reminds me of kate beckinsale in underworld
Derkeethus, no I will not expain
No need, he is excellent!!
It's not needed king.
Derkeethus being so strong we should have 10 gods instead of 9
Inigo and Xelzaz. I love how fans can write characters who have much more content and are more interesting than any character in the vanilla game.
Inigo by far, even if he is modded he’s the GOAT.
Daring today aren’t we?
me when my video game has only one fleshed out follower and I choose her as my favorite one
Teldryn was pretty cool, but for the most part I agree
Man, she just complains too much.
Frea
I love the skald people so hell yes brother
By the Allmaker I Scrolled way too far down here to find the right answer.
Best follower hands down is inigo. Great lines story and he's just cool. Plus, he's a cat that doesn't speak in the third person!
I wish Babette could be a follower. Imagine the stories she’d tell you on your travels together.
Babette is such a cool character
this. She can't die naturally so.... TODD! make her a follower in TESVI !
And the sass!
Same for favorite. I never take her home because I love having her as companion. She hamlet armor and will never die and fights amazingly well.
Marcurio, for both of our spellcasting spam can turn any foe into ash
He’s maybe the only spellcaster who knows how to fight. Sometimes I’m like “dammit Marcurio you just killed everyone - let me do some fighting.”
I’m an apprentice wizard not a pack mule

and hes funny so 😭
daring
Kharjo is the best character in the entire game so definitely him. He’s the only character that acknowledges how dangerous his mission is, and that he doesn’t want you to help him if it’d risk your life. “Be careful. I miss my amulet, but a life cannot be replaced as easily."
Maiq the Liar because i follow him around
Serana killed Meeko when I had them both as companions. I despise her.
I like Erik. I dunt mind posting him since I make stupid amounts of money. 500 gold is practically nothing to the Dragonborn by level 10.
Her or Kharjo. Kharjo you can get by grabbing the amulet he wants back and he’ll be your follower. It’s kinda hard to find his traveling caravan, but I know I found him in Labyrinth and Dawnstar
Kharjo was my first long-term follower and I love him. My only complaint is that I won’t give him helmets because they’d squash his little ears 🥺 and I’m a console player so I can’t get a mod for it
On PS3, I gave him a dragon priest mask. Sometimes he’ll pop up outta nowhere when loading into another place and scare the shit outta me
"If anyone sneaks up on us, I'll hear them coming. Or, I might not. We'll see" Hehehe, too adorable
Mjoll the lioness, give her some upgraded armor and an enchanted great sword and it’s rare that she will go down, she also cannot die.
I was like "why none is talking about Mjoll the lioness, she's litteraly immortal" and there you are
Jenassa
Inigo. Every time I jump in water he tells me to catch dinner. Tonight he told me to hurry up and finish looting so we could leave a ruin. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also I rather enjoy Vorstag. He's always nerding out about the Dwemer. Argis is my favorite silent murder machine.

This is the answer. Serena for life
100% my favorite, I have here alongside Faendal a d the three of us are known as the Dragonborn Triad in my game walktgrough, bandits and draugrs and necromancers tremble when they see us coming! Specially when they see Serana's Ice Spikes or my Lightning bolts spells / flaming sword (I use a Dragonbone sword of Emberfire which does 40pts of fire damage) and Faendal's Ebony explosive fire (crossbow) bolts...
Ghorbash the iron hand and Jenassa. Always my go to followers. ❤️❤️
Aranea Ienith. If you’ve taken the steps necessary to get her to come with you she always takes the time to remind you of how important you are.
And she packs some serious punch in magic.
Anneke. Hottest milf in skyrim.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Ahtar, mf is a beast with his axe.
Erandur! Freaking love that Dark Elf priest of Mara!
Cosigned. His redemption arc is peak, he's handy in a fight and all the little comments he makes about the places you take him are just adorable. I also love that he has nice things to say about just about every location except Windhelm. No one likes Windhelm, not even this sweet, Dunmer cinnamon roll.
Completely agree! Not many followers have his level of interactivity.
Erandur is underrated!
My shadow😎 I just don't like playing with companions
I thought I was the only one
If we don't count serana. It's mjoll, a very well rounded character to have on the adventure.
Let’s kill someone!
Not a fan of followers tbh. But I do just want to talk about why Serana is such a popular follower. She's just the best written character that is a follower. She has the most story and dialogue than any other follower in the game. Frea best follower
Here we go again with this thread
Teldryn Sero? Anyone?!
Teldryn Sero is my favourite. What a guy.
The best swordsman in all Morrowind
Errander
Teldryn Sero
My boy Stenvar. He's simple. He likes fighting things. Also favors the two handed lifestyle. He's been a good friend to me. That means something.
Serana is for cowards, real men know Erandur is the one who deserved simps That being said, Derkeethus
Rn I have BOTH Illia and some goblin as followers. It’s great. The two of them are such great support when I put my heavy armor on and start slicing Illia dual wielding ice spikes literally sends bandits and beats *flying*
SmartBlueCat
J’zargo!
Benor of Morthal, Argis the Bulwark or Mjoll the Lioness.
Erik the slayer
Indigo and Lydia
Katria, followed by Eola, then Jenassa.
I like Niada Stone-Arm because she's a fun, bratty wifey who tanks damage good while I line up spells.
Lydia
Karliah. The voice
Lydia
I like Faendal. Every time you level up, he levels up your archery.
I like Barbas, Mjoll, & Serana. They're all invincible.
Except when Barbas knocks you off of ledges. “Ok boy. I’ll give you pets later. Go over there. No Barbas! I’m trying to sneak a shot on that Falmer Warmong….(falls to death)” 😆
Yeah. That's why I only have him with me when I'm not doing a stealth playthrough.
Wow so brave and unique
"I'll get a favourite follower thread." "How original." "And I'll start it by simping Serana." "Feeling daring today."

As soon as Dawnguard is over, Serana’s dismissed. And I immediately head back to Whiterun to get: 1: Jenassa
New play through, decided to go with Marcurio. He's my new favorite follower. Just ignore is uppity attitude and slightly racist slurs.
Valdimar! His battle style for the early game is fantasticly unique. Nord battle mage who uses oak/stone flesh, ice spike, restoration, turn undead and can hold his own with one handed when the battle gets close up. Makes you feel like you're with a person and not a tool for battle, yes she is really weak and doesn't have a lot of dialogues but hey, I love her type of voice ( French version) and the little bits of personality she shows in her quest, wish we could've gotten a bigger development in her character, like many other followers. 🥲 And if I need to pick a more popular one it shall be my boi Deerkhetus 😎
J'zargo for his humor and voice-acting.
J'zargo. Bro will kill anyone.
Inigo Fight me
Inigo. Do I need to say more?
Shes great when she's not stealing my FUCKING kills (I just got the game a few weeks ago and I'm trying to level up vampire lord)
Straight facts tho
Ahh the monthly “who’s your favorite follower, mine is Serana” post.
It’s a mod but Inigo.
Illia. She womps everything with her ice spears, will typically use any light armor I provide, and doesn't break my stealth attacks. Tough, powerful, doesn't gripe, and tactically sound.
Inigo
Erandur is a real one, bro was indoctrinated into a cult that he managed to escape from only to then take the whole thing down.
She stopped following me after I was banished from her home 😢
Proceed the dawnguard main questline and she'll be back.
Your favorite follower is the one who is the most fleshed out and developed in the entire game???? No way!
Honestly? Hear me out. Iona the housecarl you get from Riften is my #1. I don’t know why. I just love her. She’s gotten me out of some bad situations. 😂
I don’t get how serana is everyone’s favorite. Shes so basic. Has the same voice actor as every other female in gaming and with the same personality
I think you mix her up with Lydia? Serana is voiced by Laura Bailey, who only voiced her and someone in ESO iirc.
I’ve never heard Lydia’s voice before. Laura Bailey is her, Kait from gears, Black widow, Louis Lane. And they’re always exactly the same
Serana is the daughter of a vampire king basically, and was taken by Molag bal as a mere young woman, she shows emotions and she is a mage so hell yes
She’s an exact copy as every other character the girl voices. It’s so boring
Best follower
None. They can't stealth, and will eventually get stuck or die.
Vanilla - J’zargo. DLC - Serana. Both absolute GOATS
I just use a follower plus Serena
I love Cicero
