It's the (apparently awful) accent for me. I don't care. I'm American. I'm too dumb to know most fake accents from real ones. I love his voice and the way he talks and he's the only character I'd consider marrying.
I’m actually an American of Scottish descent and his accent is just an Americanized soft Edinburgh. He doesn’t roll his Rs as hard as my GranDa’, but his inflection is identical.
Most of the people complaining about Robin Atkin Downes’s Scottish accent are Americans who aren’t familiar with all of the regional dialects in the UK. Downes is BRITISH. He knows what a Scot sounds like.
I’ve done nine years of community theater, including being a dialect coach and playing Harry in *Brigadoon*. There’s nothing wrong with Brynjolf’s accent.
I see your Brynjolf and raise you a Grim Onwig from Kingdoms of Amalur… he calls the PC ‘Dove’ regardless of gender and I love him so much

It's clear she's not going to marry any rando who's nice to her so she wouldn't just fall for you because you told Mikael to fuck off, and she has a cute kid who's important to her, and she's a merchant in her own right, so there's potential for a nice story quest in my opinion where you'll have to do something more than the usual NPCs if you want to win her heart.
There are a couple mods that make her marriageable if I recall.
Ingun Black Briar
Im doing a crime boss to be type playthrough, so being a part of the Black Briar family would make so much sense. And Ingun is definitely a special one lol
I thought she had dialogue that said she wanted to do Maven proud? I don't think she'd turn her back on the Black Briars.
And on that note, I'll take Maven Black-Briar as my wife.
I can fix her. Throw in M.E.I and a visual replacer/overhaul and she's golden.
Heh. I've been screwing with her & her family on my current playthrough. She just sent thugs after me. I'm trying to think about what else I can do to her.
Dude, she's a textbook psychopath, with viable black widow and angel of death subclasses. You could never eat, drink or wear anything you stored in your house, and still might not be safe.
(She is a candidate for either poison maiden or toxic lipstick or lube after dosing with antidote or chelation, so no sex either.)
It was nice knowing you...
I remember I once had this mod installed that turned Mjoll into a Khajiit. I think it was called "Mjoll the actual lioness" or something like that. So, I guess there's that option if you want a Khajiit wifey (but she kept her human voice).
I had a marry anyone sort of mod(not sure which, it was ages ago) and married her. Called myself High King. Saved and quit that game.
Can't win any more than that. I have seen the top of the mountain... no, the other one.
The political aspects of the Dragonborn marrying Elisif would have made a great quest/story tbh. The High Queen of Skyrim marrying the most powerful being in Tamriel and a living legend idolized by all Nords would make a lot of sense to legitimize her rule after her husband was murdered in a way that many Nords consider to be a viable challenge to the throne and in a time when civil war is brewing. It would also have been cool to see NPC's react to you being the High King or Queen, although from a lore perspective it would make little sense for the joint ruler of the country to be out doing fetch quests for the Companions in abandoned ruins
I mean... whose gonna stop the Dragonborn from doing fetch quests? Falk ain't gonna do it and you just know Elsif would roll over after being stern at first.
Niranye. Easily the prettiest elven woman in the game and with a hidden dark side to boot.
Angi is a survivor and the humble life she has built is admirable. It a waste that she isn't an option.
YES! No disrespect to any Taarie lovers, but Niranye was the Altmer marriage candidate we deserved. Would’ve been ideal if Taarie was the Windhelm fence and Niranye was the Radiant Raiment owner, but I don’t mind her dark side 😏
I really like Eola. Something about her charms the pants off me. Maybe it’s the way she exclaims “Now that’s a REAL man!” when you absorb a dragon soul. I don’t know, but the combination of her voice actress, (Susan Eisenberg), her tiny but fearless demeanor (body weight .68), flaws (blind in one eye, some mods add facial scars) and the way she unflinchingly accepts her cannibalism and devotion to Namira just makes me weak in the knees.
Of course, blow jobs would be off the table. And if I find barbecue sauce on the nightstand it’s Fus Ro Dah time.
I love the one that has a pet dog. He is cute despite being a pissy cccaant. Sanguine is good as a bestfriend for dragonborn, and that I have a thing for Hermeus Mora that I can't explain, the tentacles and shiet.
Marrying clavicus vile sounds like a good way to get yourself enslaved for eternity. The guy is known for twisting his deals against you.
I remember how you could ask him to end the civil war and he says “done! I’ll just kill everyone in Tamriel. No more war!”
Svana Far Shield, who works for Haelga at her Bunkhouse in Riften.
Had a hard time working, and is an Argonian Sympathizer, so I kind of want to marry her at some point.
Since I was also an Argonian and the Thieves Guild Master, am willing to help her out financially.
But I guess not, probably too young, I guess? Pranking Haelga with the Marks of Dibella is enough.
I did reverse pickpocket her 1000 gold, Robin Hood style, at least.
A single khajit or bosmer character. It’s odd that these weren’t included, but multiple options for the other races were.
Let me have Anoriath so we can run a tavern together, damn it!
I would treat Sapphire like the queen she deserves to be. But I understand why she is not available for marriage, after what she has been through. Same with Serana.
It's kinda weird on the other hand though. I really like the fact that they leave some characters unmarriable because they're not emotionally ready for it, but it would've been nice to see a quest line where you help work through someone's past. Overcoming trauma and grief together is how a lot of relationships start. It also would've been a lot more immersive than the romance for characters like Ysolda and Camilla Valerius imo.
Ralof, literally went through hell together in Helgen and then war together if you choose stormcloaks. *Sigh* but he only thinks of you as a shield-sister 😩
Aela the huntress, strong indipendent doesnt let anyone disrispect her and She Is tough as fuck.
Or delvin Mallory, great thief, very clever and smart (sometimes a smartass) and probably Rich as fuck and knows tons of people.
Susanna the Wicked. She is super nice to everyone if you get the chance to meet her, one of the more attractive npc models, and I always feel bad that there is no way to save her.
The Argonian jewelry stall owner in Riften. Think his name is Modesi. I think he's attractive for a lizard dude and he'd be a good husband for my female Argonian.
Teldryn Sero, full stop. Every time the question comes up this will always be my answer. You can get mods to take his helmet off and he’s shockingly handsome underneath it.
I want Gelebor to be marriageable. He can continue snow elf bloodline with female dragonborn. Also I found him rather charming and that I just have a thing for Albino men and endangered species.
Nazir. that face, that voice, the fact that he’s able to basically manage the dark brotherhood while you run off doing whatever the fuck, he skill with those scimitars, like goddamn. and did i mention his voice??
one of the few fictional characters ive actually fantasized about.
and also, can we get some redguard men please??? i hate to break it to you but my gay redguard ass is NOT marrying a nord lmao
I wish there were altmer men to marry in vanilla. I always marry Rumarin from the Interesting NPCs mod, but I would go for Ulundil, the stableman outside of Windhelm. Yes, he's married to Arivanya already. We could remedy that 😏
Ingun black briar. I did her alchemy ingredient request hoping I could a long time ago but sadly you cannot romantically whisk her away from riften and give her an alchemists dream homestead. I could do it with mods but for my actual playthroughs I’m old fashioned
Here's a list:
Elisif, so I can be high king and have a reason to join the Imperials
Elenwen, because I have a habit of dating women that I should hate and that I know will mess my life up.
Serana because she's the most interesting character in the game.
Niranye would be my "Skyrim is ONLY for the Nords" characters wife because I think it would be hilarious
Paarthurnax. I just love him so much...
Edit: But Borkul like in the picture is a good choice too. I honestly wish that polyamory was seen more in video games...
Hadvar my true Skyrim love ❤️
There should just be more options in general. I like to do playthroughs that are focused on different cities as a home base where the DB will get their house, spouse and kids from one city and focus on the quests there. My latest playthrough is based in Falkreath, and my DB hasn’t found anyone who will marry her there!
Rune in the thieves guild. He's so nice.
Also, Sapphire in the thieves guild.
She is a walking red flag bro
Bro can fix her
Nah. She can ruin me.
Oh yeah, and add his cut quest as well
I kept trying to get his quest, it sounded interesting.
Based
Yes! Seems like the cut storyline type with lots of writing potential. And he's hot and sweet.
REAL he’s a sweetie!!
Brynjolf 😂
It's the (apparently awful) accent for me. I don't care. I'm American. I'm too dumb to know most fake accents from real ones. I love his voice and the way he talks and he's the only character I'd consider marrying.
Don't get played like a fiddle, he is going to steal your skeleton when you sleep.
That’s how I lost my medical license!
Patient woke up, skeleton missing, and the doctor was never heard from ever again! r/unexpectedtf2
Hold the fucking phone, you're telling that the medic voices brynjolf?
He’s voiced a [LOT of stuff](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Atkin_Downes#Filmography). I’m sure there’s a medic in there somewhere.
Yeah he voices the medic from tf2
He’s literally my pookie in all ways except physical
Yay, mods!!
Aye lass
Its the way he says lass for me 😫 (and the fact that some of the things he says can be taken as innuendos lmao)
I see your Brynjolf and raise you a Grim Onwig from Kingdoms of Amalur… he calls the PC ‘Dove’ regardless of gender and I love him so much https://preview.redd.it/3mjslvrzr5ad1.jpeg?width=157&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed19f4867b41b3cf68a6fc968026ab4cc8185451
im not saying this is on my 'to play' list bc of this reason alone... but i just wrote it down s o 🤷♀️
I really wish they would make him a candidate I would marry his ass so fast he wouldn't know what hit him.
He is #1😭.
Carlotta Valentia. The hot single mom.
And then you’d be a parent to the sweetest little goldfish-loving angel, Mila!
Did you know she works with her mother, to sell fruits and vegetables? And that it's fun most days, but hard work?
Yeah she does harp on about that market gig lmao
I do
And did you know that some fruits grow better with the cold?
But not severio pelagia's crops
Mikael and the rest of whiterun agree
It's clear she's not going to marry any rando who's nice to her so she wouldn't just fall for you because you told Mikael to fuck off, and she has a cute kid who's important to her, and she's a merchant in her own right, so there's potential for a nice story quest in my opinion where you'll have to do something more than the usual NPCs if you want to win her heart. There are a couple mods that make her marriageable if I recall.
Where there’s a will, there’s a mod
Yes!!
Literally any khajit. Some of them even have quests that could easily make them marriage candidates like khajro
how about maiq? he certainly is interesting
Mage collage cat. Become archmage, do his mission , then put a ring on that kitty
Kharjo is my bro every playthrough, I religiously seek him out the moment my ass reaches Riverwood XD
Ingun Black Briar Im doing a crime boss to be type playthrough, so being a part of the Black Briar family would make so much sense. And Ingun is definitely a special one lol
Ingun, but more to indulge her rebellious side and emancipate her from Maven.

(She is a candidate for either poison maiden or toxic lipstick or lube after dosing with antidote or chelation, so no sex either.) It was nice knowing you...
Astrid. She's just so crispy.
I second that.... soooo crispy
She’s into werewolves I think so y’all aint never tried that I bet.
I'm a werewolf every playthrough mostly bc I marry aela but also bc I find being a vampire is not as beneficial as being a werewolf.
https://preview.redd.it/dlrl3033e5ad1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c972488d1ffb9436facb0cb1756155526427ae90
I think I might actually die of laughter this shit is so funny
Why has no-one mentioned my boy J'zargo yet?! Sure I can have him as a follower all the time if I want but it's not the saaaame 😭
Just lean into the roleplay. Me and jazargo "live" at myrwatch with my wife that I say I married for tax purposes
Friend of mine feels the same.
One of the female khajiit. I don't know why Bethesda excluded some races and genders from marriage.
I think a huge improvement would even just be one option for a husband and one for a wife for each race. Just to be fair to all my characters
Yeah you would think that would be in but it's not. We don't even get a female khajiit companion.
they hate the Khajiit, first game they were actually cats they were mostly slaves. guess bgs is bunch a dogbros
I remember I once had this mod installed that turned Mjoll into a Khajiit. I think it was called "Mjoll the actual lioness" or something like that. So, I guess there's that option if you want a Khajiit wifey (but she kept her human voice).
Ma'kara from khajiit will follow is the best female khajiit marriage partner IMO.
It's just an incredible follower mod all around. It's crazy that it isn't up there with the likes of Inigo, Lucien, and Sofia
Interesting charecters that are well voiced. Ma'kara sound way better than the vanilla female khajiits.
not just marriage, i wish children also had different races, imagine having a cute khajiit child running around your house
There's a mod that spawns argonian children at several docks, but they're creep AF because the models are just shrunken adults...
I'm still mad about not being able to marry Kharjo 😭
Friend of mine is upset he couldn't marry J'zargo.
A lot was excluded because of various reasons. There was supposed to be so much more content.
Elisif and not even for the political intrigue.
Wait you can't marry her? If you do her quests she has the voicelines from other marriagable npcs?
I had a marry anyone sort of mod(not sure which, it was ages ago) and married her. Called myself High King. Saved and quit that game. Can't win any more than that. I have seen the top of the mountain... no, the other one.
I think its literally called Marry Almost Anyone. I have that mod
I've heard marrying her was a cut quest
You could also kill her in a cut Boethiah quest and Erikur would have taken her place as Jarl.
Ulfric should have just done that.
Supposedly she was supposed to be a marriage candidate but Bethesda decided not to despite the dialogue being there
The political aspects of the Dragonborn marrying Elisif would have made a great quest/story tbh. The High Queen of Skyrim marrying the most powerful being in Tamriel and a living legend idolized by all Nords would make a lot of sense to legitimize her rule after her husband was murdered in a way that many Nords consider to be a viable challenge to the throne and in a time when civil war is brewing. I mean... whose gonna stop the Dragonborn from doing fetch quests? Falk ain't gonna do it and you just know Elsif would roll over after being stern at first.
This is the correct answer. The High King may have been murdered but someone still has to fill that other void.
Bro she JUST lost her husband.
Rebound spouse
Game is game
the Argonian Maid and i will not elaborate
Excuse you her name is Lifts-Her-Tail
Spreads-Her-Legs
Oh, you don't need to elaborate. 😏
There is plenty of time to elaborate my sweet, plenty of time...
Playing the scales, are we?
a playa gotta play
Delvin! Best character by a fucking mile.
Delvin: "You're the best damn thief in the place-" DB: "Alright, bro. But please, marry me."
Speaking for manly Orcs, we appreciate your appreciation
Currently on my first playtrhough. I'm an orc. Anytime I see an orc or an orc is mentioned I get excited. Even though most are rude
Sorine Jurard from the Dawnguard DLC
Yes! Give us our crossbow girlie
Brynjolf because... Brynjolf.
Eola. Perfect choice for an evil playthrough, or a reachman roleplay.
An individual of malicious culture… I tip my hat to you
I really like Eola. Something about her charms the pants off me. Maybe it’s the way she exclaims “Now that’s a REAL man!” when you absorb a dragon soul. I don’t know, but the combination of her voice actress, (Susan Eisenberg), her tiny but fearless demeanor (body weight .68), flaws (blind in one eye, some mods add facial scars) and the way she unflinchingly accepts her cannibalism and devotion to Namira just makes me weak in the knees. ... I... don't know what to take out of this.
username tracks
Kharjo… I will not elaborate
ERIK - What a total sweetheart! I love his enthusiasm.
Frea from Dragonborn dlc
I console commanded that situation one time. Was fun, except when you wake her up in the morning she proclaims, "Why? WHY?!!"
any of the daedric gods
I love the one that has a pet dog. He is cute despite being a pissy cccaant. Sanguine is good as a bestfriend for dragonborn, and that I have a thing for Hermeus Mora that I can't explain, the tentacles and shiet.
Marrying clavicus vile sounds like a good way to get yourself enslaved for eternity. The guy is known for twisting his deals against you. I remember how you could ask him to end the civil war and he says “done! I’ll just kill everyone in Tamriel. No more war!”

Illia. She's like Serena but without all of the reasons why I think it's uncomfortable to marry Serana
all the jarls
I ain't saying she is a septim digger
But i aint seen her with no broke alik'r
Jarl Balgruuf!!! 😍😍
Paarthurnax is best girl 🥰
Valid and based.
Sapphire for me....
That would involve Bethesda actually hiring a writer.
Tsun in Sovngarde! I know he’s technically a god(?) but like loooook at that man
Ralof, literally went through hell together in Helgen and then war together if you choose stormcloaks. *Sigh* but he only thinks of you as a shield-sister 😩
Still carrying a torch for the girl from Helgen he was sweet on from years ago
A Khajiit or Erik the slayer
Any of the khajiiti. Please, I need a man for my girl. (Switch player)
Aela the huntress, strong indipendent doesnt let anyone disrispect her and She Is tough as fuck. Or delvin Mallory, great thief, very clever and smart (sometimes a smartass) and probably Rich as fuck and knows tons of people.
You can marry her, I’m married to her!
Bros getting cucked by skjor once they get to the afterlife.
Hadvar. I just like him
Hroki - some busty goddess who works the Markath market but I have no idea what she does.
in game she’s flagged as being in the child class so i think she’s intended to be a teenager
Well now I feel creepy. Argh - im mentally deleting this but it IS informative.
Narri from Falkreath also wears those clothes lol, and she flirts with male players
Shor's bones! A handsome man in Falkreath!
Isn't she the only one flagged like that in the game though?
Illia, I just like her honestly.
Olfina Gray-Mane
Idgrod the Younger... Morthal Jarl's daughter.
Cicero! I wanna marry my bloody lil stab goblin 👺
Honestly same, seeing the reactions from the rest of the brotherhood would be priceless
https://preview.redd.it/akvj28uww5ad1.jpeg?width=1095&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae59c59a3f295fe73f9f82f078a88fcd80a86486
Was looking for this comment, because same lol
Teldryn Sero. Thankfully there’s a mod that lets you.
Erdi from Solitude because she always flirts with my female character.
Yesss Erdi would be my answer as well. So lame we're never doing that girls trip...
I get why you can’t but olfina gray-mane. I CAN handle the sight of a strong nord woman and I could so take Jon Battle-born
Susanna the Wicked. She is super nice to everyone if you get the chance to meet her, one of the more attractive npc models, and I always feel bad that there is no way to save her.
J'Zargo!!
Ulfric Stormcloak
Delvin Mallory for sure. He always treats the dragonborn like a competent adult and doesn't have any misogynistic dialogue. Plus the cute accent.
Captain Lonely-Gale
Valindor, bc he is adorable.
Takes a serious man to get like him to get arrested for lollygagging
Idgrod the Younger 😣💔
The Argonian jewelry stall owner in Riften. Think his name is Modesi. I think he's attractive for a lizard dude and he'd be a good husband for my female Argonian.
Teldryn Sero, full stop. Every time the question comes up this will always be my answer. You can get mods to take his helmet off and he’s shockingly handsome underneath it.
Why are people so fucking weird? The obvious answer is the night mother.
Nazir. There's no redgard males to marry 💔
J’Zargo. Him and my Khajiit will forever go on adventures to become the greatest mages in Skyrim.
I cheated to marry this Orc...
I want Gelebor to be marriageable. He can continue snow elf bloodline with female dragonborn. Also I found him rather charming and that I just have a thing for Albino men and endangered species.
Delvin or Brynjolf (or even Glover, since Delvin's got it bad for Vex). They've been my favorites from the beginning.
Nazir. that face, that voice, the fact that he’s able to basically manage the dark brotherhood while you run off doing whatever the fuck, he skill with those scimitars, like goddamn. and did i mention his voice?? one of the few fictional characters ive actually fantasized about. and also, can we get some redguard men please??? i hate to break it to you but my gay redguard ass is NOT marrying a nord lmao
Inigo. Best kitty is best kitty.
Neloth
His marriage prerequisite quest would be making the perfect canis root tea.
He'd make a great tsundere spouse
Ondolemar. Dude is a sweet tsundere sub. And I refuse to believe anything else.
I wish there were altmer men to marry in vanilla. I always marry Rumarin from the Interesting NPCs mod, but I would go for Ulundil, the stableman outside of Windhelm. Yes, he's married to Arivanya already. We could remedy that 😏
Ulfbert Warbear 🫠 he keeps asking me out for a drink but I know he's married to Adrienne. Typical!
Ingun black briar. I did her alchemy ingredient request hoping I could a long time ago but sadly you cannot romantically whisk her away from riften and give her an alchemists dream homestead. I could do it with mods but for my actual playthroughs I’m old fashioned
I don’t wanna marry Borgul, I just wish there was a fourth option for convincing him to let me pass 😋
Alduin easy pick…If donkey can screw a dragon so can I!
https://preview.redd.it/hfxa8esc76ad1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7287d3bd24b1e3830021cc7441cbbbd44469100 [The War-bear himself](https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/rm0ajm/ulfberth_warbear_a_baddass_looking_guy_who_does/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Susanna the Wicked. Nord, kind, flirty, not racist, also thicc.
And also dead. ... Oh, you dirty birdy.
Serana... need I say more?
Here's a list: Elisif, so I can be high king and have a reason to join the Imperials Elenwen, because I have a habit of dating women that I should hate and that I know will mess my life up. Serana because she's the most interesting character in the game. Niranye would be my "Skyrim is ONLY for the Nords" characters wife because I think it would be hilarious
Faralda is the only Altmer I would simp for, personally.
Niranye would be my pick too. Wish there were more Altmer spouses
Valindor. Love me a handsome short elven man
Marcurio because if you squint he looks like Kevin from the Backstreet Boys
Eola, because she can make me worse, and Delphine, because I am not immune to mentally unwell samurai women
Erik the Slayer
Partysnacks.
Lisette, she’s just so so pretty 🥺 plus my adopted daughter Sofie wants to be a bard and like who better than her as a mentor and mom?
Brynjolf 💙
brynyolf. and because yes.
brynjolf 😩
The frost troll that likes to rough me up on my way to High Hrothgar. He likes it rough. I like it rough.
Illia from the Darklight Tower quest
Okay, hear me out. Belethor.
Suddenly, I’m deaf.
Paarthurnax. I just love him so much... Edit: But Borkul like in the picture is a good choice too. I honestly wish that polyamory was seen more in video games...
