Lol that’s a strong contender.
This guy is WC, which isn’t my favorite. But he’s in quarantine and luckily he looks really healthy. And no he’s definitely not my first candoia. I used to have a group of five amazing future breeders that I deeply regret selling. These are probably my favorite boa species that I’ve ever worked with and I’m so happy to have one again. ❤️
This one is a ground boa. Don’t let the name fool you though, they are fantastic climbers and they really like to perch. They stay pretty small. Around 3 to 5 feet. And males tend to be significantly smaller and lighter bodied than females.
What made them your favorites? I LOVE the high white animals, but have kind of avoided them because they are almost all WC and baby lizard eaters aren’t easy. I do have my eye on some viper boas but the Solomon ground and tree boas are incredible looking.
Their small adult size and appearance are definitely a big part of why I love them so much. I LOVE their keeled scales and their little pumpkin seed shaped heads lol. I love how strong they are, and how well they hold onto you when you’re holding them. They might be called ground boas, but they’re definitely semi arboreal. They also tend to be incredibly easy to tame and socialize in my experience. The only downside to them in my opinion is the fact that feeding can be an issue.
And Yeah I’m not gonna lie, I am pretty nervous about feeding this guy. I know WC Solomon island boas are notoriously difficult to feed, but I feel pretty confident in my abilities as a keeper. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve (and a great exotic vet for backup lol) 😁
That’s awesome! I’m excited for you. Idk why someone downvoted me lol. Your animal is cool and I wish I had one. I LOVE keeled scales but non venomous options are limited.
Aw I’m so sorry to hear that 😔. That is such a common outcome with WC. I was told that he’s on anole scented mice. Fortunately I do have a pet store near my house with a steady supply of anoles, so I can keep working on the transition to rodents. I’m just crossing my fingers that I don’t have to assist feed in the future. Hell, If all else fails I’ll start breeding anoles 😆
I was scenting with lizards frogs trying live mice live anoles and dude was just not having it, he was a younger individual so I didn't have as much wiggle room with not eating I guess. Definitely not gonna get another WC one but in the future I want to get a CB individual, I love the candoias so much.
Café!! Cheetah, twine lol, mocha, cream, cello

The breeder I got my kenyan sand boa from has been selling these guys & they are beautiful snakes!
If I had one I'd name it Quartz. Just a granite-like marbling & of course that timekeeping hourglass. 😉 Enjoy your new snake!
Cuddles lol. When you ask houseguests if they want to meet “cuddles” tho looks on their face will be hilarious, and I’m sarcastic when I name pets most of the time anyway
Isn’t it wild? They’re one of the craziest looking boas that I know of. The scales are all keeled, so he feels rough, like a little dragon. I swear some day he’s gonna open his mouth and fire’s gonna come out lolol

Call him "Loading" because he has an hourglass on his head! 🤣
Ooh something time themed would be pretty cool actually lol
On that note, Kronos would be badass
kala or kali could be cool, they’re both hindu goddesses of time.
Got my upvote I like it.

Should name him "Buffer" since it's called buffering.
That is the best name. 🤣🤣🤣

Macho Man Randy Savage. What a beaut tho. Is it CB or WC? Is it your first Candoia?

How big do they get to be as adults? Is this a ground or tree boa?

I picked up a WC one of these who refused to eat for me and ending up passing 😕, what's this guy eating rn?

I think mine was just not dealing with the transition, I couldn't even get him to eat anoles.
