I think it’s best to stick with the base game trucks when playing the base game maps for the most part. You might make things too easy too early. The tire pack is a good dlc to dive right in though.

yes, makes sense. I leanrt the same in Expeditions where i daownloaded a MOD or two then deleted them because the challenge was gone.

Stick with the base game for now, it can take over 200+ to complete, including all released dlc from Y1-Y3 is easily 1000+ hours. And FYI, the aniversary dlc is free, it includes the international HX520 and CAT CT681, both are very good for being free early game trucks. Year 4 I’m going to say hold off for now, let them release season 13 and see how well the first dlc is received.

Wow, thats a lot of game and good to know. Awesome !!!

So there are three completed year packs (that have 4 seasons) that also have several vehicles included in each....some being pretty good imo. Year 4 isn't completed so not sure what will be included. Then there are several stand alone truck DLCs not included with the year passes. Many people have qualms with the atom being top heavy etc, but I quite like it for a stand alone DLC but it doesnt outshine any other 8x8 really. It is also an exceptional model imo. If I was you, I would play the base 3 maps with the base trucks. Ensure you enjoy it, then buy all year packs when they go on sale. Then buy whatever stand alone truck DLCs you like most. My current favorite vehicles are the Atom, Step Pike (year 3 I think, maybe 2), Tayga 6455 (again year 2 or 3), and the F750. Don't quote me on what trucks came from where, been playing a while and it all kinda got blended together in my memory. You can Google specific trucks and it will tell you what you need to get them, like Fandom or something similar. Maprunner is also a good source. Also I like the tire pack a lot, mainly for esthetic purposes.

great stuff, i'll take all this into consideration.

I went the exact same route with my introduction to the game series. I got all season passes for the snowrunner and with it came few DLC trucks that made starting the game much easier. Now I think that the snowrunner is a much better game than expeditions. Its more fun to have a persistent enviroment where you can play with your trucks the way you please. In expeditions you just go in with stuff you select and then get out. Its not that fun.

Goatface-E3

yes, I get it now. I'm glad I came back.

If you're really keen on spending money before you're done with the base game (I know I did, so no judgement here), maybe avoid the landrovers unless you really like the looks. From what I understand (I don't own them but LOTS of people are very angry about those), they vastly underperform. However it might be due to the Defender being such an iconic vehicle that having it merely okay might have pissed alot of folks off. The best deal is to buy a "year X" edition when on sale. You get alot of bang for your bucks. But if you wanna spend now, and only pick a few, then I'd advise you look up trucks a bit and buy the season that has your theoretical favourites. The one with British Colombia specially comes to mind, the big ass Kenworth is a beast to have, the map itself is pleasant, and there is even the Mack Defense in there, which is one of my personal favourites... But to each their own :) As for standalone truck DLCs, they're more flavour than power. Meaning they give you something different but aren't usually pay to win. With one notable exception : the Mastodon. It's an absolute monster. If you can't do it with that truck, you can't do it, period. The one thing it can't do is squeeze into tight spots, but it's okay, you'll get over it. And I mean it quite litteraly : you will get **over** it. Among those standalone trucks, I can recommend the Crocodile, which is a pretty good small truck that can be used as a long range scout, or to pull moderate loads. The rest is really up to your taste :)

Goatface-E3

good to know thank you. I have a Landrover IRL life so i feel like i need it lol. I got the atom and i am pleased with that so far. I'll take your others into consideration. Thanks again :)

Rick_Storm

Glad to help. Have fun, mate :)

Your best bet is to get the year pack when they're on sale, as for priority, i honestly don't know, i only got the first 2 years, and my game progress reset bc cloud sync isn't cross platform (windows and linux), so i'm just going to be doing the base game from beginning again, and only start using DLC trucks and stuff when i complete it

coolfarmer

Wait what, there is a learning curve in Snowrunner?

Rick_Storm

I think it's what we usually call "that brick wall with auto targetting rocket launchers at the top".

Goatface-E3

**Nothing major just one i couldnt be assed with innitially. Expeditions made me rethink that ;)**
