I'll say a few, if you don't mind:
* It's far better off-road than people think: I've used it in [Alaska](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/sv0o4t/transtars_alaskan_adventures/), [Wisconsin](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/vg5qi8/transtar_offroading_in_wisconsin/), [Don](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/10tfseu/don_and_dusted/), and other regions.
* [It's fast](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/v45pvy/you_can_get_pretty_good_air_with_a_transtar/) and it sips fuel.
* [It can even do long logging](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/papw35/logging_with_the_transtar_they_see_me_rollin_they/), as long as the log station is not too muddy.
On paper, it looks bad; no AWD, no diff lock, no mud tires - but with a bit of weight on those UOD II rear axles, it'll pull through far deeper mud than you'd think.
Is it ever going to beat 8x8 permanent AWD+diff lock trucks in terrain? No, it's not. But it might give you a bit of a challenge instead, and teach you how to be a better Snowrunner driver in the bargain.
Happy trucking!
I have used it for long logs in black river and it can drive up the hill from the logging station next to where you find the c70 in H gear with no problem. The P16 or the WWS cant do that.
To bad it cant handle mud at all.
>To bad it cant handle mud at all.
With some weight on the rear axle it can handle shallow and medium mud no problem. The real deep stuff though, you're better off picking another route - but that goes for every other truck as well ;)
Cabovers are cool in general.
It’s an interesting relic of a time when the laws were different in the states and you wanted as short of a cab as possible because there was a limit on overall length of semis. Barely enough room for the driver and that’s all you get
It’s funny bc cabovers are still pretty standard in the rest of the world but not bc of the same reasons and also not at the expense of driver safety or space.
>not bc of the same reasons
In Europe at least, it *is* mainly because of the maximum permitted length, including the cab. In recent years, they started changing the legislation slightly to allow longer and more aerodynamic cabs (environmental reasons).
The Terminator 2 truck was a [Freightliner FLA 86](https://www.imcdb.org/v006433.html).
Edit: But, as u/Wednesdayfrog123 correctly states, there's [a Transtar 4070A in The Terminator](https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1034-International-Harvester-Transtar-CO-4070-A.html). Better go rewatch it :)
It was THE highway truck in the US for like 20 years and it's inclusion in the game is a direct nod to it's history and relevance to the trucking industry
Not necessarily, it's actually decent off-road. Just give it proper tires and a lift, even with that the lift is optional. Your only real concern would be deep-deep mud. But it's quite capable. I've found it to be a handy log truck and ice-road truck too.
It's a good highway truck, and while I didn't use it in Michigan cause there's too much mud for this fuck, it was a good truck in the road heavy Alaska, mostly for smaller loads and to do a little scouting, but it is a truck that deserves to be used.
Great Yard truck or truck to use on repaired roads.
Great pull behind. Use a big 6x6 or better up front and use this light weight to pull behind.
Fast and not tippy
Good leave behind and cheap. Leave one at the base of the strip mines or as mobile fuel/ maintenance truck.
a very specific job for a very specific map only: michigan tank refueler in the checkpoint to drummond
cool truck still, whistlindiesel has one, or had one
Helped me long log in Michigan, as it and the fleetstar were the only long log capable trucks i had at the time, was a little rough getting up the hill from the station but it got winched up.(The fleetstar was pulling it to save me an extra trip.)
Fast, fuel efficient, and decently powerful. I've used it with chains in Amur to run cargo down the line to fix up the road and had to refuel it once.
If you don't mind doing transfers or setting up trucks to pull it through bad spots it's a good way to run the roads. Personally I prefer the CLT 9000 but the Transtar is perfectly serviceable in the right situations.
I've got a few for this one, as a base game truck with no front differential, it's actually not too terrible off-road, given proper tires and a lift. Just stay out of deep-deep mud and you're good. It's also good at towing large loads over the roadway and not eating gas like a pig, especially compared to the White-Western Star 4969 or the International Fleetstar. Doubly so if it's using the Freeway transmission. It's not the best truck at either of these, not by a long shot. But if you give it a shot, it will surprise you. Also, when it comes to large loads, I've had maybe 1 time where this truck has been stuck in a tight point. The thing has got a short wheelbase and a fantastic turn radius. I'm going to try it in NC today to see how it does.
You can drive the one on Smithville Dam to the garage on its own power...it is capable to do things as:
On maps with roads you can even use it as a fuel efficent transpost vehicle for fuel hungry trucks.
I won gold on Food Delivery in Black River and taking the shortcuts doing New Nest in Smithville Dam with it and the high range gearbox.
I wanted a cab over for the New Nest contest as I needed to see as much of the road as possible without the engine blocking my view, the camera movement in first person view disagrees with me.
I have discovered a new fondness for this truck that wasn’t there before.
It's a good truck to separate good snowrunners from those who have skill issues. If you think it's a bad truck, you have skill issues.
I'm probably going to be downvoted to hell with that, but it's the truth.
I mean, after you fix the roads, especially in Alaska you can do almost every mission with the highway trucks. Plus it's fun to give yourself a challenge after the number of hours most people on this sub have played.
Once you get in the dlc maps with using a generator it's good for working those. Throw a fuel add-on on the back, even if you got to drag it's azz through the mud over to where it's needed.
It's great for people who like to challenge themselves. I have helped many new players on the Michigan playing this because I didn't want to "out-truck" the host. It can basically go anywhere as long as it's carrying weight on those back axles combined with good tires.
It's a great mobile garage. I put the service van body on it, fitted it with offriad tires, and used it to tow the fuel carrier trailer. Now, I have everything I need for fill-ups and repairs in remote areas.
I use it as a service rig to leave on the side of the road on maps with no fuel or service station. I put a fuel tank on the back and drag a service trailer with it. Has saved me many times
It's a great lot truck if you need to unload, reload, or store supplies for trucks or if you want to reorganize a trailer/truck. Crane and flat bed combo works well.
Despite it's on paper poor state, it's proven itself absolutely surprisingly useful. After I used it as a last emergency fuel opportunity, I pulled it out again in my last few contracts for Wisconsin, and kept pulling it out again to do tasks over and over again until it planted itself squarely in the Ontario fleet and hasn't needed to be ejected yet. I've only ejected two trucks entirely, one of those for poor performance, (and the other for the game breaking and deleting it) and neither are the Transtar 4070a.
I use this truck all the time, especially for smaller loads. Put a flatbed with a load and this thing will handle itself well in moderate mud. Not gonna say it doesn’t need to get winched, but it it’s a better truck than people give it credit for.

I use this truck all the time.
Upgrade tires to AT. Add fuel tank. Go find another fuel trailer on the map.
I keep it to the main paths, but it's my main fuel hauler. It's an awesome little truck.

Truck require skills, so it separate bad drivers from good drivers
It's free
This, and you can sell it for cash
And for good reason
You don't sound like a trans ally.
Huh?
Transtar
I like how it looks visually
I like how it sounds audibly
I like how it looks mentally.
I like how it smells, oily.
Pug
I'll say a few, if you don't mind: * It's far better off-road than people think: I've used it in [Alaska](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/sv0o4t/transtars_alaskan_adventures/), [Wisconsin](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/vg5qi8/transtar_offroading_in_wisconsin/), [Don](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/10tfseu/don_and_dusted/), and other regions. * [It's fast](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/v45pvy/you_can_get_pretty_good_air_with_a_transtar/) and it sips fuel. * [It can even do long logging](https://www.reddit.com/r/snowrunner/comments/papw35/logging_with_the_transtar_they_see_me_rollin_they/), as long as the log station is not too muddy. This guy snowruns.
This guy Silicone Valleys
This guy Stardew Valleys.
This guy Derail Valleys.
This guy was probably a B-130 speedrunner in the OG Spintires and/or Mudrunner
This guy fucks
This guy trucks
This guy likes the transtar ^
Dang ol' St Jobe back at it! Keep spreading the truth brother!
And it's pretty good-looking
I got a bit of use out of it in the 2nd map in Yukon. It worked great for carting cargo along the icy roads
The real deep stuff though, you're better off picking another route - but that goes for every other truck as well ;)
I use it as winch point
me as a fuel truck
It's a great fuel truck, I park it on a main road in a remote area, and now I have the extra fuel I need.
Same
Cabovers are cool in general. It’s an interesting relic of a time when the laws were different in the states and you wanted as short of a cab as possible because there was a limit on overall length of semis. Barely enough room for the driver and that’s all you get

It was my understanding that it was because of smaller roads. I thought the maximum length only applied to trailers.
It's terminator truck
The Terminator 2 truck was a [Freightliner FLA 86](https://www.imcdb.org/v006433.html). Edit: But, as u/Wednesdayfrog123 correctly states, there's [a Transtar 4070A in The Terminator](https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1034-International-Harvester-Transtar-CO-4070-A.html). Better go rewatch it :)
I think he means the Terminator 1 truck
[Terminator, not Terminator 2.](https://www.imcdb.org/v001034.html)
Ah, gotcha. My bad :)
It was THE highway truck in the US for like 20 years and it's inclusion in the game is a direct nod to it's history and relevance to the trucking industry
It has its own uses. Shreds Alaska. Honestly it’s great and unique. Let’s not just have 50 of the exact same AWD/Diff lock trucks.
The most powerful engine of all base game old US trucks (excluding heavy).
I use it once the map is together to pull the heavy loads. Doesn't matter that it doesn't have diff lock AWD, the weight puts the wheels to the mud
It reminds me of the old-school Optimus Prime
Personally I love COE’s
Suspension travel is better than most of the trucks
Player filter. No, I wont elaborate.
Its got a horn.
Strong, fast, economic, and poweful, but only in asphalt.
Not necessarily, it's actually decent off-road. Just give it proper tires and a lift, even with that the lift is optional. Your only real concern would be deep-deep mud. But it's quite capable. I've found it to be a handy log truck and ice-road truck too.
Terminator 1 truck
Cab-overs Fuck. Thus, the trans star fucks. But it’s a good starter truck, and pretty capable with wait on the rear. And very gas efficient.
Love the challenge it provides in places it has no business being, yet had no problems getting through
You can mount a fuel tank on it and afterwards throw it in the next best ditch as "mobile gas station".
The paint scheme looks good
It’s the most realistic truck in the game
Makes a good yard crane.
It's the best for transporting the construction rig trailers to the drill sites in Michigan.
It's a good highway truck, and while I didn't use it in Michigan cause there's too much mud for this fuck, it was a good truck in the road heavy Alaska, mostly for smaller loads and to do a little scouting, but it is a truck that deserves to be used.
It pulls like a train
Reminds me of the firetruck from Radiator Springs in "Cars".
It's a cool cabover design with a great turning radius.
This vehicle deserve more.
Great Yard truck or truck to use on repaired roads. Great pull behind. Use a big 6x6 or better up front and use this light weight to pull behind. Fast and not tippy Good leave behind and cheap. Leave one at the base of the strip mines or as mobile fuel/ maintenance truck.
No >:(
It buys you ANX.
Barely uses fuel, looks cool, can do logging, doesn’t tip too easy (from my experience)
It's not plagued with LEDs disease
Better tractor than the TUZ warthog. Adds challenge to a game on easier maps.
It starts
It’s fast, on asphalt.
The horn sounds good.
a very specific job for a very specific map only: michigan tank refueler in the checkpoint to drummond cool truck still, whistlindiesel has one, or had one
Dollarplays
Helped me long log in Michigan, as it and the fleetstar were the only long log capable trucks i had at the time, was a little rough getting up the hill from the station but it got winched up.(The fleetstar was pulling it to save me an extra trip.)
Its a good meme
It's a lovely shade of red
Santa Claus colors
Fast, fuel efficient, and decently powerful. I've used it with chains in Amur to run cargo down the line to fix up the road and had to refuel it once. If you don't mind doing transfers or setting up trucks to pull it through bad spots it's a good way to run the roads. Tiny but mighty
it gives me money when I sell it
Optimal for selling
It can be sold
Truck

It reminds me of Richard Hammond
Free
It reminds me of a Kraft Single. Just a li’l ol’ slice of cheese.
Its a rwd intersmashable not much good to be said about it. Irl they are good shipping crate?
You can drive the one on Smithville Dam to the garage on its own power...it is capable to do things as: On maps with roads you can even use it as a fuel efficent transpost vehicle for fuel hungry trucks.
It gives 50’s diner vibes
It's a classic. A collectors piece
Terminator Truck.
I really like it's horn.
It builds character
He has strong brothers😂
It's a good truck to separate good snowrunners from those who have skill issues. If you think it's a bad truck, you have skill issues. I'm probably going to be downvoted to hell with that, but it's the truth.
It's really useful around the garage positioning trailers what nots.
It is v-hickle
Makes a great anchor point one turned on its side.
It will surprise you if you don’t act like a noob and straight out sell it without even trying it.
It’s the easiest truck to sell with no regerts
It's tires stay inflated. (Hard to blow a tire when you're stuck in 2 inches of mud)
Looks like a pug 😂
One nice thing about it
It's got the same type of face as my pug!
It’s ugly but also kinda cute, like a pug.
I mean it looks cool
It's a great truck, very useful. Don't put a crane on it and use saddle low. It's my fuel trailer retriever. Either way it handles really well.
It’s beautiful
It's rewarding to get jobs done with it
no hood
It's a cabover, what's not to love
It’s red
It’s red (I like red)
The ladies will think you look REALLY cool- Mom
If you can find a smooth road it's quite nice.
It is the HARDEST working truck in the game, and doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
It's in terminator
It’s easy to tow when it’s part of a stuck vehicle mission. That’s all I got.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, in snowrunner
A cheap fuel truck outside the garage
It looks cool.
Its cute
Cabovers are sexy.
I mean, after you fix the roads, especially in Alaska you can do almost every mission with the highway trucks. Plus it's fun to give yourself a challenge after the number of hours most people on this sub have played.
It’s fast and fun to stick a high range gearbox on if you don’t mind smashing into shit and probably rolling over 🤣
It looks cool
Once you get in the dlc maps with using a generator it's good for working those. Throw a fuel add-on on the back, even if you got to drag it's azz through the mud over to where it's needed.
You can strap a fuel tank on it and park it outside your garage to make pit stops faster.
I believe this truck is in the Terminator movie. That Arny is in when it explodes. Best movie ever made
Hey, that trans star can get stuff done! I use it mostly on "roads" but it can get along thru the mud. A bit.
It's absolutely beautiful
Its a international
It's great for people who like to challenge themselves. I have helped many new players on the Michigan playing this because I didn't want to "out-truck" the host. It can basically go anywhere as long as it's carrying weight on those back axles combined with good tires.
It’s fuel efficient, very good on ice with proper tires, and is an all around good truck.
I enjoyed every moment I've been using it for fuel tanks carrying or spare parts trailer, with chains it's a good enough off-roader
Cabover ❤️
steering,suspension,European (I am Dutch),nice,realistic
I like the paint job and older trucks make me happy :)
It's personal hygiene is beyond reproach
it has the right dimensions for my fave tow bed mod
It reminds me of the one sitting on the street on the OG Nuketown map
It looks good. I have a soft spot for old cabovers.
It's a great mobile garage. I put the service van body on it, fitted it with offriad tires, and used it to tow the fuel carrier trailer. Now, I have everything I need for fill-ups and repairs in remote areas.
✨personality✨
Hes cute
it’s an international
its optimus prime maybe it will transform ?
Reliable
It smells nice
Efficiently uses space! It's cab is only like 4 feet long.
Efficient, long routes with a lot of ice are it’s kingdom
It's frank.
Optimus prime Uhe eeh hee eh
Terminator 2 truck scene DOLLARplays approved
I doubted it's abilities
It looks neat
Is this the one with all the cab attachments?
I use it as a service rig to leave on the side of the road on maps with no fuel or service station. I put a fuel tank on the back and drag a service trailer with it. Has saved me many times
i cant
It's a great lot truck if you need to unload, reload, or store supplies for trucks or if you want to reorganize a trailer/truck. Crane and flat bed combo works well.
You can download mods to make it more capable.
Fuel tank + generator trailer = crafting mule
How about two? It's fuel-efficient and fast as hell!
Optimus Prime truck :)
Fun to drive down dirt roads.
It has wheels.
Its drives forward sometimes
It was a great help, genuinely… when I needed $$$ to upgrade another truck
It's an International. My grandpa had International tractors and trucks his whole life. Swore by them.
Surprisingly good even with a few upgrades
one nice thing about it.
It goes fast.
It looks nice
Has a participation award.
It holds its resale value
Its nice looking irl
Awww so cute
Looks cool
Autobots, Roll out!!

It’s a truck? It works?
I am Optimus Prime
whenever I see one on the road it makes me want to play snowrunner… with any other vehicle.
That's my dedicated fuel truck.
Challenge level: Impossible
Looks funny… like a pug
It was one of the first trucks I ever recovered and I was very excited when I got it
It got tires
It can roll
Turns good
Does deliveries on US maps super fast with a highway/highrange gearbox
