Dantallian11

Still have it in him.

[deleted]

Diving like a 20 year old, what an inspiration!

Dantallian11

It did bring a smile on my face, [and took me for a trip to memory line.](https://youtu.be/4Ucw6C8oufs) I hated this fucker for so many years. Can’t help but smiles seeing him still trying this on youngsters(?) more than ten years later.

xepa105

God, seeing Kaka in a Real Madrid kit is still such a trip. It's one of those player-team combos that should've been so iconic, but because of how it went it now just looks weird.

pumped_it_guy

I think his best one was against lampard. Wasn't even close lmao https://youtu.be/QGJU7x7EiXI

Plaetean

Why is the ref laughing after making a terrible decision?

12minds

Lol. He's so shameless.

Powerful_Artist

So many are to blame for the same thing. Frankly, I blame the refs and those in charge of the rules for not trying to more consistently card this type of dive and eradicate it from the game as much as possible. I rarely see cards for simulation, and see lots of diving. It's a disgrace, and so many players do it

callycaggles

but leverkusen bayern was literally the ref looking to give cards, you know? when it is a foul, you have to give it. I think there is a lot of area for play on, unless the play is super obvious like CR7 here. gotta card these types of stunts.

shorewoody

The blame lies in someone committing the dive to try to trick the refs, not the refs. It is a lack of athletic skill while supposedly being a professional at the sport.

atomiser2003

If refs gave fouls when players get kicked without going down, that would be great also

LilHalwaPoori

Half the tactical fouls committed by the teams considered the best like City or Bayern or Real are basically just taking down an opponent player when you know there isn't time for your defence to get back in position.. That's due to a lack of athletic skill to stop the defender fairly too..

MadhavNarayanHari

That team. Holy fuck! Those were el classicos. Also, CR7 not trying to laugh is hilarious.

Rickcampbell98

Rolling back the clock, "he's not fucking finished" lol.

mattcrick

He's not finished, he's only 38!

lilbelleandsebastian

imo if you dive you get the yellow, but if you dive and then complain to the ref about not getting a call that should be STRAIGHT TO JAIL

fischarcher

Timeless

bass1879

he even does it against luxembourg lol

RumJackson

They were winning 4-0 at that point too haha

[deleted]

A hat trick chaser

BedSideCabinet

The irony is that that probably contributed to him being subbed off shortly after.

[deleted]

Like trying to take change from a blind homeless man

Rickcampbell98

Hey, a man's gotta eat. Needs to buy penalties to farm even more before he goes back to the desert.

Ornery_Barnacle2625

That’s the funniest part for sure

[deleted]

It’s ingrained in him

Igoze94

[Not the first time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FotJQeSVQuc)

mcrajf

Disgusting.

cyborgsid2

This is football heritage.

pricelesslambo

This is why I always hated Ronaldo. Fantastic player but the diving and arrogant personality on and off field, makes him so incredibly unlikable. Same problem with Bruno Fernandes

SilverDragonfly6794

Neymar?

pricelesslambo

Yeah his diving was never something i was a fan of.

CaninesTesticles

Who’s your favourite diver

Comrade-Conrad-4

Michael Phelps

CaninesTesticles

He was a swimmer but nice try

AlchemicHawk

Needs to dive to get into the water

doplhinsbarnicles

Never see that fella just walking around tbh, probably spawns in the water.

jamieliddellthepoet

Can confirm. Phelps is actually a naiad, and can materialise and dematerialise at will as long as he’s in, or will appear in, water.

thatHadron

He holds the record for the longest successful golf putt, or did at one point at least

HotChilliWithButter

Maybe Ronaldo actually just wants to become a professional diver

[deleted]

Einstein over here

LOMOcatVasilii

Then I nominate Jason Statham (google it)

Diagonalizer

Robben

JohnnyKossacks

Robben was so open about it too

cmalaimo7

Robben was hurt so much some of his diving felt like PTSD

DesmadreGuy

https://youtu.be/3gylDN7pWzU

robotnique

No era penal?!

LordCommanderCam

That one who had the argument with Elon Musk on twitter

Blitzed5656

It has to be Jason Statham. https://youtu.be/xrxH5n93CzM

TheGrieving

That's a bit different from "This is why I always hated Neymar"

LordSibya13

Anda pasha bobo Anda pasha

kukaz00

Neymar dribbles > opponnent kicks him > Neymar fall down > Neymar have idea > if fall down enough free kick given > more free kick more goal Banter aside, Neymar is probably the most fouled player in activity, but when he goes down, he makes a big deal out of it.

[deleted]

Exactly, what he does isn't diving, he embellishes

FlufferTheGreat

Least he broke his back that one time so now we never really know.

Pow67

I’m curious how you felt about Luis Suárez as a Barca fan then lol.

[deleted]

Diving is an embarrassment to the sport no matter who’s doing it so yeah I feel the same about Suarez in that sense

killerboy_belgium

pretty much every forward does and the ones that dont get tackled way harder and shorten there career. hazard for example didnt dive and get his ankle broken multiple times and got kicked so much jesus at arsenal also doesnt dive as much and he gets manhandeld at times and ref dont call it if refs would call fouls without the forward make theatrical performance out of it they might dive less and there should be post game reviews to get diving punnished more. But as long those things dont happen i dont see it improving

Stand_On_It

Yeah good points. But it’s why players like Hazard deserve more respect. They respected the game enough to not make a mockery of it with diving, they deserve our respect for that.

pricelesslambo

Same problem as Ronaldo, but just like Ronaldo, he was a crucial striker for the team

shuaibhere

As barca fan, before we signed him I hated him with my gut6. When the rumours came out I prayed that it shouldn't happen. But after signing for us it was pleasent surprise. I think sitting 4 months away from football changed him a lot. He was less aggressive, wasn't diving or cheating as much as he used to before.

_szx

Exactly my experience. He really won me over. He had some moments but they were few and far between.

TheSqueebMonster

What's Bruno's off pitch attitude problem?? He seems like a lovely guy tbh

pricelesslambo

Yeah that was wrong wording. I meant on field for Bruno. You don't really read anything about him off field

ny2803087

He did say some stupid stuff about FIFA conspiracy to make Argentina win the World Cup.

Key_Inevitable_2104

Pepe said the same thing after Portugal lost to Morocco

jon_stewrt

That was gold....The Argentinian ref caused Portugal's elimination from the world cup ...coz everyone knows of the historic bloody rivalry between those two countries...

toasterb

“Dreams can’t be buy” is probably his most notable off the field moment. Otherwise he seems like a really good teammate, lots of playful rubbing of his teammates, and always focused on his family.

NdombeleAouar

The comments after the game against us (Morocco) spring to mind.

clantpax

Then there's the journalists trying to cause drama just cause bruno didn't smile while ronaldo was talking to him smh

Awkward-Mix-4124

Bruno arrogant off the pitch? Hello?

overshoulderboulder

Also there's all those rapes.

LeStiqsue

My brother used to say that gravity increased on Ronaldo by 6000% when he entered the 18 yard box.

garynevilleisared

Bruno Fernandes is actually a great person and super genuine person away from football.

tabz3

Of all the players out there you choose Fernandes. Maybe you just don't like United.

cyborgsid2

Tbf, Ronaldo cut out a lot of this stuff the last few years I feel. I only dislike Ronaldo for his off the field antics. And the opposite with Bruno. Off the pitch I feel like Bruno is a really good guy.

Rickcampbell98

He didn't cut it, he just stopped dribbling and even then he still goes down very easily.

LowSnow2500

This is a 38 year old, one of the greatest players of all time, while being 4-0 up against Luxembourg. Old habits never die, and these will never not look hilariously stupid

[deleted]

It's like those greedy rich people squeezing every last cent out of whatever shit they're doing while sitting on billions of dollars till they finally say goodbye to this world. They do anything to make the numbers go up.

Gerf93

The allegory is extra fitting, as "greedy rich person" also fits with the extremely wealthy Ronaldo going to Saudi Arabia solely for a last paycheck instead of rounding of an incredible career playing anywhere even semi-relevant.

AndyVale

I'm sure I've heard him say he'll finish his career at Sporting. But that's assuming they would want him when it is time to go. They're a serious club fighting for trophies on multiple fronts and just dumped the Premier League leaders out of Europe.

Gerf93

He’s never going to play for Sporting again, it’s just pandering. He already gets paid mostly for his brand in a sport washing endeavor.

buythedipster

The rich are often rich using any means necessary. And for the ultra rich, why let up on your strategy?

qenia

Because time should be a more valuable currency than money at some point in life.

[deleted]

I love Ronaldo not finding refuge in the heart of United fans.

LipD

Legendary.

minomserc

Still got that dawg in him

jay_alfred_prufrock

One thing Jack Grealish is absolutely better than Cristiano Ronaldo is this

raymondliang

Tbf his calves are massive, more surface area to make contact with

Fatty5lug

Why is he still doing this shit? 😅 at some point you have to see this as something embarrassing right?

Faposaurus-Rex13

muscle memory at this point

robotnique

Why stop? His fans will be ok with it and the people who hated him already will still hate him. He's got virtually nothing to lose while he might pad his stats a bit more if he gets away with it. And as to the issue of self respect... well it's clear the man is in love with himself and has been for years. Honestly I kinda worry that Ronnie's post football life will be a trainwreck. Messi I can see transitioning into a full time dad and goofy grandpa with a pudgy stomach and lots of trophies. But Ronaldo? Man is going to be on every drug imaginable to keep him looking and operating like a 30 year old man at age 65. I can't see Ronaldo surrendering anything willingly to father time. He will be running ultrmarathons and the like to spit in God's face until some horrific injury completely stops him as his knee disintegrates or something.

JoeBagadonut

He will play into his mid-40s in weaker leagues, then land a coaching role that will go about as well as Thierry Henry's management career.

Key_Inevitable_2104

I feel like Ronaldo could’ve stayed at United until May 2023 when his initial contract expired, then could’ve joined Sporting on reduced wages and played his final years there instead of going to Saudi.

Gerf93

He could have done that, but more importantly he wanted to make as much money as possible.

Bubble_Bowl_XLVI

Sounds like Tom Brady lol

HaggisTheCow

Yeah the man cares for nothing but himself and his image.

External-Piccolo-626

Not him, it’s embarrassing.

missurunha

The goal is not to simulate a foul but to force one. He leaves his foot behind to increase the chances that the defender will touch it and the ref will give a foul. On this case the defender didnt touch him and he looks dumb, but it often works and the ref gives a foul even though the player was diving way before any contact happen.

[deleted]

lmfaoo

jnce12

At 4-0 up against Luxembourg. Different level of shameless. 😭

I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69

Nah bro this is football heritage

MH18Foot

Ronaldo is almost 40 and he is still pulling this shit smh.

MissingLink101

Against Luxembourg at 4-0

[deleted]

I love it. Ronaldo back to his old self, scoring and shamelessly diving

televisionting

If this was his old self he'd have a two hattricks against Luxembourg.

Imnotar0b0tIswear

[Great dive] hashtag# GOAT🐫

WhenWeTalkAboutLove

Where is the fall on d'floor tag

ChrisWood4BallonDor

Good refereeing. It's relatively easy to see this as a dive in the comfort of our homes and with slow motion replays, but that's not an easy call to make in a split second.

gart888

Would this even be a foul if it wasn’t a dive? Is the attacker really allowed to barge directly into a stationary defender and win a foul?

FirstRedditAcount

Extremely good refereeing.

Heisenberg_991

Pique definitely knew what he was saying when he said "Cristiano has a habit of throwing himself to the ground"

lbushi

Somehow the fact that he is 38 makes this even more shameful!

Gilgamerd

That's why he is the GOAATT!!

Beneficial_Garden456

Grass-stained of all time!

DeffDeala

Why you diving vs Luxembourg 💀

iamscr1pty

Get a penalty, score and stat pad

ForSiljaforever

embarrasing

Holycrabe

Against fucking Luxemburg man that’s really pathetic.

boom_slim

Pathetic

K0WAHBUNGA

He threw his arms up, then realized where the referee was and was like “ah shit”

patw420

Preparing for a legendary dive to win a pen…in Saudi Arabia lmao

RelentlessJorts2

Luxembourg, not that it's any better

patw420

Preparing means it’s practice for the weekend

GuiltySigurdsson

“Sunday, the King dives 👍”

Ecstatic-Coach

Straight red. That’s shameless

inflamesburn

peak ronaldo, 4-0 up against one of the weakest teams there is and still cheating

pinniped1

Lol flopping against Luxembourg... Great look bruh

PowerAccordion

The stupid thing is he nutmegged the guy lmao, why not just go for the play

Lucas_DR3

Diving should be a red card

49RedCapitalOs

I agree. It’ll cut this bs out super quickly

[deleted]

SIIII(M)UUUUULATION

[deleted]

I will always hate him

paindotexe

What a waste of a nutmeg

ghee

I love how planned this move was, turning mid-fall to face the ref

Mehlitia

He thinks he won the free kick lol

[deleted]

"But ref, stop the steal"

fallen_d3mon

He definitely went fishing for contact. It wouldn't have looked like a dive if the defender didn't retract his legs at the last second.

lizziegal79

Dude should be a B movie actor, he’s so freaking dramatic. Always has been. He’s a good footballer, but a better actor.

Reapper97

Against Luxembourg lmao

Tessarion2

Embarrassing. It's easily the most malicious form of cheating in the game and yet a yellow card is the harshest punishment they can get.

FistThePooper6969

Embarrassing

Deep-Thought

Imagine diving against Luxembourg

maxbang7

My god is that pathetic.

[deleted]

Imagine having to dive against Luxembourg 💀💀

fatBoyWithThinKnees

pathetic

MarshmallowSandwich

Should be red by VAR review

WooNoto

Doing this up 4 is pathetic.

MattiaKa

Well he doesn't care about scoreline, all that matter is the number of goal he is going to add to his wikipedia.

LiamAddison

4-0 up against Luxembourg and still diving😂

LeVidzzz

*when your legs dont work like they used to before*

[deleted]

*when the ref no longer falls for your decades old tricks*

televisionting

Bro is so shameless, good ol' Rolando.

MeatballDom

In fairness that's an MLS player in front of him there and he's not used to such a step up in competition skill level from his regular job.

Quazz

Pathetic. It's shit like this that makes me rate him way below Messi

AhoyDaniel

Can't believe he gets hated for no reason🤬🤬🤬

[deleted]

"The hate for Ronaldo is just ridiculous in these threads. Why are people so jealous of him, can't you just learn to appreciate him for the greatness he is. Also, can you ignore the diving and antics? Okay, if not, can you at least pretend that Messi does it too? No? Well then fine, you guys are just hateful towards Ronaldo."

grishaoniani

GOAT masterclass

eveel66

Why I will never give him respect. Always does shit like this

bruiser95

Man did this while 4-0 up Vs Luxembourg 💀

AtlasHugged2

Gotta dive against MLS defenders. No wonder he went to Saudi Arabia.

HeyItsStevenField

He can keep diving, and he can kiss the euro championship goodbye too after the World Cup loss

Pipkin81

I fucking hate this behavior. Almost as much as I hate people celebrating this.

arigyrotouzeppelin

Dude's jacked up as shit, dived like a 12 yo

TG24129

Old habits never die

UnicornForce

He needs to cheat against LUXEMBOURG?!?!?!?

basedjuicer1

Gotta respect the hustle, at 18 and at 38

gunningIVglory

Imagine diving v Luxembourg Levels

lj243572

Been perfect his technique for 20 years

Timely_Airline_7168

Shameless

SkrKr6

They don't call him Dolphinaldo for nothing.

starburn82

Absolutely shameful!

[deleted]

Pathetic

Lon72

Sad man

Rojow

What a disgrace. Dude it's almost 40 and dives like a teenager. What an example!

[deleted]

Imagine this being your GOAT 🐪

TiagoFigueira

This actually bothers me now… why? Why still do it so far into your career and supposedly at such a mature age in life. There is a point in your adult life when you actually stop doing most of the shenanigans you did when you were 25. This mfer is almost 40…

Run_Rabbit5

When you realize you've lost not one but two steps.

sbuck23

Siuuuuuuu

Johann122

Classic Ronaldo

whistleforme

fall'on da floor

LanatusGG

I see Bruno learned from the best.

Supermalt418

Rolling the years back what a diving GOAT

Bobo_fishead_1985

How the mighty have fallen over

CarlesPuyol5

Pendu doing what he does best... GOAT!

Munchihello

He wanted the hat trick so bad

KungFuFlames

SUI LEVEL

Madouc

Almost a perfect diver. What a shame.

derpferd

Forever a showy preening hollow wanker

Von_Rickenbacker

Divey little scrote.

stumac85

Diving against bloody Luxembourg 🤣

kosembnihat

Grown ass fucking man you are, Cristiano.

LOKl31

Look at him still thinking he plays in a CL quarterfinal or something

gmoss101

This y'all GOAT???

logan5-jessica6

There's nothing new here then. At least 50 of his goals came from cheating.

yesiam45daughter

This is the same shit he did and won a penalty from it during the WC

bremmmc

I don't know why people hate him for this... I work at a senior home and old people fall all the time.

toalome

still a cunt 👍

MaSta1986

Thats the reason why he will never be honored on the same level as Messi. Why does he need to do that? If its a final-game ok i would understand but against Luxembourg?
