Lifetime ban

[deleted]

How about actual prison

Brave-Salamander-339

Did he try to do a Solar Flare move?

ComfortableNo2879

Why man why? These type of fans should be banned from entering stadium

Ghune

And charged.

WalkingCloud

Bit harsh just because they're disabled

Big_Red_Bandit

lol I mean based on the flair it may just be history repeating

Choice-Magician656

that’s actually dark asf lmao

gengenpressing

💀

Food-Oh_Koon

ouch

xckd9

Looooool

Redbullsnation

Switcharoo

Whenwillwerealize

😂😂😂

Derpwarrior1000

In my town someone launching a flare in the forest made the provincial news. Flares can be wildly dangerous

iAkhilleus

Cause for some of these numbnuts being a fan of some team is their entire personality.

DrXyron

And go to jail

mild_manc_irritant

Bro what the fuck. Why. Just fucking why.

JmanVere

Some people are just fucked in the head. Fucker needs a lifetime ban from football yesterday.

FlamingLaps1709

He needs jail time

Unholysinner

Or just have a flare thrown at him and he has to firm it

Don_Quixote81

Nah, don't throw it. Just light it and stick it up his arse, hot end first.

PioliMaldini

Wouldn’t you rather just stick it there and let it burn if you want to cause max pain? Sticking it in would just kill the flame right?

SwagLurker

Or it ignites the methane in his colon and he goes boom.

arkashyap

r/brandnewsentence

AnnieIWillKnow

A friend was working at an A&E in London on Bonfire Night. Saw a patient he put a firework up his bum for a dare, then lit it. Got a colostomy.

Don_Quixote81

Hmm. You make a good point.

R_Schuhart

Flairs have their own oxidizer in the fuel, they even burn underwater.

AnnieIWillKnow

This man flares

CraicFiend87

So much they spell it flair.

bleak-hause

or maybe he has to kiss his nan with tongues

Unholysinner

Actually I’ve got a new one He can go on date night with Braverman and Patel

bleak-hause

too far mate

johncosta

No excuse, but you have to think they were aiming for the pitch and it landed short.

mild_manc_irritant

So he's a fucking dumbass with a noodle arm?

johncosta

Hahahah exactly

WorthStory2141

It might have hit the netting and bounced back

alb92

There's no netting during the match. Only net is before kickoff.

Liam_anon

Their netting where the flare hit.

cdbriggs

fucking noodle arms man...

feage7

As much as I dislike Liverpool "fans", I really don't think having that disabled section Infront of the away fans was a good idea. It's so close, good chance an absolute melt didn't know it was a disabled area when they lobbed it. Got to remember this is someone lobbing a flare at a group of people so their intelligence is already in question. Also got the possibility someone who didn't bring the flare had a melt next to them and just though "fuck this flare, picked it up and chucked it away". Trying to give benefit of the doubt, not on the twat who brought and set off a flare but just that they didn't actively target a group of disabled people with it. I prefer to live in a world where that aspect wasn't intentional. Edit: just because of the DM's. I thought my flair would have given away my impartiality here. I'm fully aware there are horrible people in the world, but when I am simply an observer I'm choosing to believe it was just an idiotic ignorant moment than someone intentionally throwing a flare at a group of people in wheelchairs who can't even quickly move away. Not forgiving the throwing of a flair and also yes it is naive, but I'm not the police, a judge or a jury on this, just someone sat at home watching TV trying not to be overly cynical.

chrisb993

I've stood in the away section for the rugby league and it's clear as day it's a disabled section below. Agree it's a bad place for it though, it becomes an issue at least once a season. The disabled section should stay where it is because of the surrounding area & facilities, and the away section should be in the corner of the Bobby Charlton stand

feage7

Even just add a net maybe? It's easy to say how it's clearly marked, but your also not allowed flares either. So we're already talking about someone willing to break rules.

chrisb993

Think a net catching a lit flare might be a hazard in itself, I wouldn't want to be below that. Think it's just easier to relocate away fans to be honest, not like we don't have the space anywhere in the lower tier for them

feage7

I think the idea is they wouldn't throw the flat at a net surrounding their own fans.

ravenouscartoon

It’s made worse with this being an FA cup game meaning instead of 3k Liverpool had 9k fans. The section was much bigger.

cmf_ans

There's people in visible wheelchairs with their caretakers and spacing is different to the rest of the stadium.

feage7

From pitch side yes. Deep into the away stands as they're well Infront and below, is it that obvious to a regular bellend? Again, not excusing the behaviour, just hoping the intent was less of a dick move than what happened is all. Still throwing a flare is a twat of a move.

SpaceMurse

Yeah making no excuses for this fuckwit, they need a lifetime ban, but agreed that the design could be a lot better. Every team has their shithead fans, and eventually more things like this will happen bc the opportunity is there.

Free-Eights

The easier thing would be to move the away fans further away from the disabled section but a 9k away fan section means there probably would be some unavoidable overlap unless you put them in one of the larger stands.

mild_manc_irritant

You know some right assholes, man.

PennyG

Idiots.

dandpher

Identify them and ban them for life. Completely unnecessary

PoliQU

I’ve never understood why Man United has that section placed directly below the travelling fans. Whether it’s scumbags like this or even unintentional it does feel like you’re placing vulnerable people in a spot that is ripe for this type of thing.

[deleted]

we put the disabled fans there bc its closest to all the facilities they need and is the most accessible for them imo we should just move the away fans to a different section no need for them to be right by each other

PoliQU

Yeah as I was looking into it a bit more to respond to some other comments, it seems like the accessible facilities are top class, just in an unfortunate location. The best solution seems to be moving the away fans.

ocean_train

Id recommend that be moved to the parking lot section.

Charlie_Yu

I can’t bring my bag and have to be checked by security when entering OT. How the fuck this got through

cdbriggs

The pat downs are pretty brief. Probably not hard to slip a flare into a coat or pants

OSullivan14

Wasn't the case at the game today, took an absolute lifetime getting in

Ticket_Fantastic

? No, it was brief as normal.

OSullivan14

Was where I was going in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand. Only got in 10 minutes before kick-off. Maybe that section were just enthusiastic but had to show inside of my jacket etc. which was a first.

el_doherz

It's entirely dependent on the specific staff you get and the time.  Some are thorough and slow. Some are just slow. Some give zero fucks.  Also if you go close enough to kick off, the security tend to start half arsing it because the queue starts getting tetchy when they've got a serious chance of missing kick off because of the checks.

PUNlSHEDVENOMSNAKE

How thorough is the search though?

the_bag_and_the_duck

Need to do a complete search 🧤

Used-Fennel-7733

A complete search 👆

Quirky_Assumption460

He had it up his arse all the time

eruditezero

Prison wallet

DrXyron

In his prison wallet

Melanjoly

I think throwing flares at disabled people warrants more than a stadium ban, absolute scum.

Parish87

Surely it should count as some sort of assault or attempted assault.

maxime0299

Tbf, throwing flares at any section with other people in it warrants more than just a stadium ban

Thanos_Stomps

That’s true but I think most people can agree it’s worse for the section designated for people with disabilities, if for no other reason their reduced capacity to retreat to safety. It’s just that much more heinous. But you’re still right cause in any crowd people can get seriously hurt, trampled, burned, etc.

jesuisgeenbelg

Yep. Ban him for life but I hope the police get a hold of him too. Don't need shits like that in our fanbase.

JmanVere

Lifetime ban from all football matches, and a prison sentence. Nothing less.

oklolzzzzs

ban him

SlushyRH

Fucking idiots. Hopefully they get banned from all football and some jail time or a heavy fucking fine

RockHardValue

Embarrassing

tomahawk277

Ah man

Spastic_Hands

I will say, the fact that we moved the disabled section to right next to the away fans is another long line in a series of awful decisions made by this football club

wallpaper_01

Yeah was thinking that the other day actually.

UpsetKoalaBear

I pointed this out back when we played Arsenal and someone was getting pelted with coins. https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/s/Ty0oydoRak It’s happened before and it’s simply because the club decided that it was a sick idea to put them there. The Disabled Supporters Association for Manchester United also raised the issue years ago: https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/manchester-united-disabled-supporters-211082

LUHG_HANI

Yeh we really bleed irony.

ronweasleisourking

Disgusting. Fucking scum

MathematicianNo7874

Press criminal charges. Press criminal charges. Press criminal charges.

LipiG

Really helping ourselfs aren't we? Dumb cunts

Beatnik15

I imagine this bellend undershot the pitch

Lolcraftgaming

wtf, lifetime ban and assault charges

eztegao

Honestly, I still can’t believe we thought the best seats for our most vulnerable fans is right underneath drunk, aggressive away fans.

VHLPlissken

Who was the fucking idiot who that stupid idea? These are the kind of people that we should be publicly shaming as idiots.

whistonreds

Mad isnt it, even for a normal game it can't be enjoyable for these people sitting there

NeitherIndependence

Jail.

[deleted]

100%

Real_Callahan

Disgusting

Ankoku_Sein

Ban them for life and get to jail you fuck

bigbear-08

For fuck sake

BIM-GUESS-WHAT

their flares mean more

goodyear_1678

They invented flares in football.

_AlwaysWrong_

classy flare throw respect moment

-Gh0st96-

It's about pashion

CousinBethMM

They’ll be copyrighting that soon

JoBoltaHaiWoHotaHai

You'll never walk ~~alone~~

MustGetALife

Shouldn't laugh but..

Leckie15

Should be banned from all sporting events for life. Idiot

Nicox37

Classy as always

diaboquepaoamassou

Lifetime ban please

pratyush_1991

I always wondered why United have disabled section near away crowd. Considering how juvenile some supporters can be, it’s certainly not the ideal place. Hope the identified and ban for life. Maybe some police charges should also be there because i feel this amounts to physical violence

DispensedPez

Assholes

Callum1710

Easy fix for flares, point deductions in the league and instant disqualification from cups. Things are stupid and dangerous in such an environment.

luke_l7

Banned for life from football. Let alone Trafford. I’d imagine it wasn’t purposeful but the negligence needs punishing to the fullest extent.

BrickEnvironmental37

Not that it's any less but English people tend to call smoke bombs flares. Hopefully it wasn't the 1000c degree burning distress flares. *And obviously nobody should be throwing anything into sections. Not coins, smoke or flares.

Gazzadona

Fans like that are pure scum that ruin football

slappywhyte

Classiest Liverpool fans

Mo_SaIah

Coming from the supporters who chanted that Mo Salah was a terrorist suicide bomber. Ironic

thatguyad

Might want to wind it in there

TinyJoseph

Chelsea ffs.

Kreissler

Classy as ever

essemh

Ffs.

dispelthemyth

For the amount of instances where there are passionate and in cases like this scummy fans we should move the away vendor disabled section. I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often especially with European away fans.

JessieLou13

Twice.

fairlyrandom

That's so fucking low, yikes.

HappyVibesForver

This happened? Oh dam. Why are some 'fans' so utterly reprehensible? Lifetime bans warranted, no less. And if any of the fans underneath were injured as a result, haul the degenerate in front of a judge

Faeluchu

Scum of the earth.

Redbullsnation

Fuck em

This-Kaleidoscope-70

Disgusting

eri-

Well.. it would appear that the real disabled section was on top

dudududujisungparty

Pathetic fanbase

DifficultySalt4231

Scum

Montana_Blue_17

What assholes are these Liverpool fans. Haven't they trown plastic bottles with coins in on the heads of city fans last year.

kwm19891

Pint glass full of coins it was, it hit a teenage girl in the face.

Soberdonkey69

Scumbags.

BehindEnemyLines8923

I still just do not understand how flares are allowed in stadiums. I get it’s cause I’m American, and we just don’t do that, but feels like such a huge safety issue.

EmpressRey

I mean they aren't. At least not at any stadium I go to. People just smuggle them in!

eo37

Will need to keep a checklist to the amount of scumbag things the Liverpool fans do at this stage

BeardedGardenersHoe

Nah it's never their fault mate.

DampFlange

It was most likely a fan of another team trying to get them into trouble, after all, they have no previous 🙄

thehibachi

You can both say what you really want to say, it’s okay.

GerryAdams32

Scumbags

L0laccio

I hate flares in football. Full stop. Then you go and throw it at other human beings ☹️

PaltsiLepa

Flares are great, but should never been thrown.

ValleyFloydJam

It's not safe.

kw2006

Ban on liverpool fan next match.

PestisPrimus

I’m sure Liverpool will do what it always does and claim to be the victims in the situation, then blame the police for letting them in the stadium with flares in the first place.

S-BRO

Must be Cities fault.

PUNlSHEDVENOMSNAKE

Flares are such a great addition to crowds but there’s always cunts like these and Bohs fans to ruin it for everyone else

Sectumsempbraa

Scousesque

forbiddenmemeories

For fucks sake, some really are just sick. That's got to be a lifetime ban plus a criminal charge at the very least.

Anal_bleed

It's awful if they did this! Does anyone have a video of the incident?

Joshua10red

Who the f gave English fans flares without instructions?

Jack_King814

They wouldn’t understand anyway

vsquad22

Disgraceful behaviour. All football fans should call out disgusting behaviour like this regardless of the teams they support.

ijoinedtosay

Genuine dirty cunts. Shouldn't be allowed near a stadium ever again.

Let’s not use disability as a punchline.

MintharaEnjoyer

>Liverpool fans do [Insert inhumane thing here] Shocker

boycey86

Fucking animal.

Automatic-Sundae-850

And no chance it'll be reported by the major news outlets. They'll be sore enough that Klopp's farewell party was spoiled.

RurciMojas

Obviously this sucks but why put the disabled section right beneath the away fans...

Adammmmski

It’s been there for fucking years pal.

PUNlSHEDVENOMSNAKE

It’s really such a bad idea to have the two so close with how idiotic some people get at football games

cheersdom

yeah geez, just like why would she go out in a mini skirt if she didn't want to get raped?

kurruchi

Arsenal will probably not copy this one don't worry guys

jesusthatsgreat

Typical

slackboy72

Sing songs about Liverpool fans -> arrested and banned. Attack disabled person with incendiary device -> lol it's just a bit of fun. FFS

Traditional_Serve597

Assuming it's the same for FA cup but at OT there is a big disabled fan section in front of the away fans. Seems like a terrible layout decision. I saw two disabled people hit with plastic bottles that away fans were trying to throw onto the pitch.

pellep

Fucking asshat…

WLScopilot

Bunch of idiots - get them out

JackTuz

Back it up, Terry!

JackTuz

Back it up, Terry!

Squiggles87

Deserves police involvement and hopefully than can identity the culprit. There was plenty of tragedy chanting from the United end, too. All these bellends need kicking out the game.

[deleted]

Were there any other reports of this?

Crono_

Straight to jail.

PigeonHurdler

Shame on them, wankers

diesel1889

That’s really disgraceful. Why did they put the away section anywhere near the disabled section though

BaldEagleNor

Nah, wtf man. Imprisonment and lifetime ban

Poian999

Disgraceful, should be banned for life and put in jail.

Salty_Intention81

Bloody hell, as a Liverpool fan I say these “fans” should be banned from the club for life as well as facing criminal prosecution. Utterly disgusting behaviour. Unfortunately I’ve seen first hand the damage that can be caused by these things. I hope nobody was hurt.

Beanz_Memez_Heinz

Can't be true. Liverpool fans never do anything wrong.

Arcuran

Disgusting. Plain and simple. Forget football. This needs police involvement. I don't want/need these sort in our fan base. Hope they are able to identify the twat.

LilDiamondtoxic

Most well behaved Liverpool fan

CommenterAnon

LFC fan here, fuck that guy 👍

Henry-Gruby

Animals.

[deleted]

They'll probably blame the disabled fans

jesuisgeenbelg

No, not *Liverpool fans*. It's one Liverpool fan. Who hopefully will get found and banned for life from our games while also getting done by the police. Thanks.

The-Florentine

There's a video of each fan grabbing hold of the flare, counting down from 3 and then collectively lobbing it into the disabled section.

RandomGuySayHii

That stupid mf

ToshJoWe

You're stupid if you think it'll just be one fans doing. They will have had some sort of egging on by surrounding fans.

as1992

Thats true. This is the first time Liverpool fans have behaved badly at football games
