pawksvolts

I still don't know how he made that pass to Mainoo, the awareness was incredible

TheUwaisPatel

Before the ball was passed to him, he had seen mainoo behind him

PeaAccomplished2492

It’s still impressive awareness

Agents-of-time

Thrice.

Express_Sand_7650

He was checking on Mainoo the whole run up to the box. It was shocking that City defenders were lackadaisical in their marking. Maybe they were too wary of the threat of Garnacho they forgot about Mainoo.

dadaknun

That's the hollywood pass he likes to do.

mcchino64

This needs raising with Football Cliches, not having that as a hollywood pass

ike_manutd

"Manchester United with Bruno Fernandez, miskicked it... MAINOOOO!" Awkward to say the least!

BuckfuttersbyII

Effective scanning off ball.

LiteratureNearby

Miskick innit

Grenache

It’s really time for Martin Tyler to retire.

Dio_my_senpai

I dont understand why he continues, he is 78 ffs he was born the same year the 2nd world war was ended. He has made a lot of money, he doesnt need any more money. Just enjoy life man ....

4096b

That’s his way of enjoying his life maybe?

Elektro_Shox

Doesn't sound like it, that's the point.

Minor_Edit

He lost his voice a couple of years ago, didn't want to give it up. Unfortunately he just clearly doesn't have it in him to be energetic any more so should be retired. A lot of these commentators genuinely love doing it week in week out, it's not just a job. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68816738

BlacknWhiteMoose

He’s 78… he might be enjoying it but doesn’t have the same energy he did in his younger days.  It’s not his fault he keeps getting commentating gigs. Why would he retire if he’s getting paid well and enjoys what he does, despite what you think?

costcokenny

I doubt it’s about the money - I imagine he’s made buckets over the years? If we’re speculating I’d guess it’s more about holding onto what gives his life meaning.

HST_enjoyer

For a lot of people retiring means admitting you're old and passed your prime, some people just can't or haven't come to terms with it yet.

CharGamer12

Did he not already?

RedMoon14

Just from Sky Sports, sadly.

19nineties

Watched it on mute first time around and then I saw this comment and thought it can’t be that bad…but sheesh

lots-of-shawarma

He honestly ruins matches for me

Lazywhale97

Try hearing him solo commentate the 2022 WC final us Aussies had the greatest pleasure of hearing him sound unexcited for one of the most exciting international games of all time lmao

Lazywhale97

Us Australian's had the greatest pleasure to have Martin Tyler not just commentate the world cup for us BUT SOLO COMMENTATE it was the most miserable dreadful thing you could imagine for the most exciting sporting event, luckily half of the games we had another commentating duo who were pretty good but unluckily Martin got the final and hearing his dead pan solo commentating for arguably the greatest WC final was an experience.

nshriup19

As grim as this season was, we will have a team to build around Bruno, Garnacho, Mainoo, Dalot, Martinez and Hojlund from now on. Solid list of players to be proud of.

[deleted]

really impressed with mainoo and garnacho in this grim season

Safe-Particular6512

Mainoo especially, I hope kicks on like Garnacho has. Those two have been a highlight of a grim season. Dalot has improved which is nice to see - I can’t say many United players have improved at the club in recent years

ItsMeJaredBednar

yes but has anyone mentioned how grim this season has been

Safe-Particular6512

This season? Don’t think so.

Sleepless_Voyager

Surely diallo has to be included in that even with his limited game time, why did ten hag not use him more cos he genuinly seems quite decent

GambianSlange

He’s been injured

BeyondTheStars22

Yes. And who put that together? The guy that's getting sacked.

larsmaehlum

According to a guy that’s Tier 2 for Chelsea.

Fright13

And Tier 3 for United. He’s not getting sacked.

PhD_Cunnilingus

We can bet. If he gets sacked, you will wear a city flair for a month. How about it?

Fright13

I’ll wear it for a year. What’s your wager?

PhD_Cunnilingus

You choose.

PhD_Cunnilingus

Well, have you decided?

penguinopph

You know the letters PhD come after your name, right Dr. Cunnilingus? That's why they're called "*post* nominals."

PhD_Cunnilingus

What does that have to do with anything?

penguinopph

Ya know, I'm not so sure you actually have a PhD....

PhD_Cunnilingus

You are not sure I have a PhD in cunnilingus and am not a fan of the Virgin Islands? Wow, incredible.

mushy_friend

How tf are you the downvoted one in this thread lmao

IscoTheLemon

Sure

Pxel315

Wouldnt be too sure, that ratcliff handshake with ten hag couldnt be more cold if you try meanwhile ratcliff was almost  making out with guardiola post game.

Titan4days

Also the guardian ran it so must be well sourced.. Jamie Jackson at the guardian is well connected in Man U

Fine_Assignment5397

Yeah let's not forget the 100M fidget spinner

sarthakmahajan610

And its a huge reason why Ten Hag should be excused for not going all defensive throughout the season to save his league campaign.. Despite the shit backlines, he continued to play the system which plays to the strength of these players instead of a system that tries to simply protect the backline.. I strongly believe despite the awful results, our buildup play and passing from the back has improved a lot and it will be very noticeable once we fill up the remaining positions

Adrianm18

Bruno is probably one of the best attacking mids . I wonder if he leaves if he doesn’t see improvement in the team . He can almost walk on to any team .

rtgh

Go away Real, you have enough top midfielders

psaepf2009

I agree with you, but the top comment every year I swear is "we've got a team with all these players around to win"

JPVazLouro_SLB

Don't know about Garnacho, I don't see much in him aside from decent dribbling. For the little I've seen, Hojlund, for example, looks like a much better player and with more potential. Mainoo of course looks way ahead of both in terms of current quality and potential

SonyHDSmartTV

Nah Garnacho is great, he is only 19. Got lots of pace, full of flair, fearless, good work ethic and stamina. Gets you goals and is direct, he is not the finished article but he's shown a lot this season, he's basically the archetypal United wide player tbh

JPVazLouro_SLB

I agree with those characteristics of him, I just don't think that is what makes a great player, even with him being only 19. Of course that he can develop other areas of his game that can take him to another level, I just don't see that in him when he plays, that's all. It was just an opinion, I think he can still be a good player, just not an out of this world winger that is among the best in the world. If you compare him to other players around his age that were on the pitch, like Mainoo or Doku, the gap between them is huge

SonyHDSmartTV

He didn't have an amazing game yesterday and the second half of the season he hasn't been quite as good, but he's played a lot this season - probably too much. I rate him very highly for a 19 year old, he's getting into the team on ability rather than just potential

Titan4days

Garnacho plays his age as in he’s raw and exciting but very talented.. Mainoo plays like he’s 28

Magallan

Any reason you don't include McSauce on this list? Every year United spend 80m trying to replace him and every year their season is a disaster until he's restored to the first 11

spiralism

He was one of the squad leaders in minutes this season tbf. Was injured yesterday. Ten Hag has a laundry list of mistakes to his name this season, but he figured out fairly early on how to best utilise him.

Lost_And_NotFound

Dalot is not a player to build around.

Tsupernami

Change your flair

MajesticAd5047

Heart & soul of United

Raphii_11

Don‘t forget the brain

Zandercy42

And the balls

LensCapPhotographer

In his first post match interview he had tears in his eyes The man **cares**

Josho94

That's basically what he's being hated for, showing emotions in the wrong way.

timmyctc

Ah look hes being hated for being a whiney bitch, which he is, but ultimately every single team is filled with divers and whingers. (Kovacic ran 50m to cry to the ref 2 mins in the game because haaland lost a header vs Martinez for example) But what you cannot fault the man on is committment and sheer fucking talent. If Bruno plays in a super set up like Real or Man City the man is fighting for the Treble and Balon D'or. Instead he's at the most dysfunctional team in the world and elevating them to a level they have no right to be at, and I wouldnt have it any other way.

Unova123

He was the same here , playing in a horrible team but pulling miracles playing a ton of minutes running his ass off every game ,there isnt a club in the world that wouldnt like to have Bruno

msonix

Well put

TheAwesomeroN

Exactly, the fact of the matter is that Bruno is both (1) a whiney bitch. and (2) a fantastic football player. People just love to ignore the second part.

alanalan426

There's so many Fantastic football players why do i have to like one thats also a whiney bitch lol

TheAwesomeroN

Who said you have to like him lmao? No one gives a fuck if you like him or not, I’m talking about people who refuse to acknowledge how good he is.

ocean_boulevard

Showed more emotion and passion than City's entire XI combined

bvengers

So happy and so relieved to see Bruno lift a major trophy!!!! He's a world class player and was annoying to see him empty handes

Robert_Baratheon__

Technically the league cup is considered a major trophy even though we all know that’s bs

AsheAsheBaby

Nah it’s a major trophy. It might be the lowest of all the major trophies, but it still is one.

Zandercy42

It isn't this season but it was one last season

mindedj

Perfectly said

[deleted]

Robert_Baratheon__

That’s the league cup. FA Cup is just called the FA Cup. So yes that’s what I said . Thank you for reiterating?

Melanjoly

A world class player and a great United captain, fully deserved.

pearlz176

Yep, he's genuinely world class

[deleted]

He deserves it Really really happy for him

Apronauts

I love the man. He absolutely deserves it. Just hope he eventually wins the league some day

Dispari7y

don't worry, we're winning the tinpot treble next season

Apronauts

I'll take it. Treble is a treble.

mrsauceboi

City fans have tried to argue that the super cup, CWC and league is a proper treble

KingOfDatShit

It is *a* treble, but not the big one.

Robert_Baratheon__

Community shield, Europa and League Cup?

Senior-Temperature-5

Aah the Jose special

Paapa-Yaw

Bruno bruno bruno!!!

Nimonic

Came from Sporting like that other fellow whose name I can't remember

jokerisrekoj

Nani

bootlegportalfluid

No real Utd fan disrespects Ronaldo even after his 2 exits. I bet you’ve never been in the stadium with the fans singing Viva Ronaldo all game long.

Nimonic

Respectfully, piss off. What kind of "real Utd fan" tries to start a fight about this nonsense the day after we beat City to win the FA Cup? Have a word with yourself.

jubza

Wild that Prince William is handing Bruno the trophy

Food-Oh_Koon

he's the ceremonial head of the FA, so he has to do it every year

jubza

Logically, yes fine, but the royal family handing a trophy to a United player just sounds so strange

thebyrned

First FA cup for you?

jubza

I mean, I'm born and raised in Manchester and a season ticket holder but I guess it's a very normal every day occurrence and one I should be accustomed to expect.

deepit6431

I mean, literally yes, yes it is? It happens every year?

JonnyForeigner

Guardiola being obliged to shake hands with a primary school kid on the podium after that display absolutely sent me.

-watchman-

Imagine the kid gets closer after the hand-shake and whispers "Manchester is Red"

sarthakmahajan610

Is he a fan of any club?

jubza

Pretty sure it's Villa

sarthakmahajan610

Then him giving Bruno the trophy isn't really THAT wild I'd say

iamnas

His spawn looks like a psychopath

TamedTaurus

Woah!! So unnecessary.

Mackieeeee

inject it

artyom__geghamyan

Next station is Euro 2024

motez23

The deadpan bounce along with everyone else from ETH was funny

SkyDefender

Honestly i love this guy..

akshatsood95

William should really get a hair transplant. Nice face let down by the 60 year old grandpa hairline

batti03

Nah, just shave it.

KenHumano

Shave it, grow a beard, hit the gym.

CurbYourThusiasm

Is this like a bald mantra or something? I see every day.

Buccos

Don’t even need the beard. Secret to that hair is go bald and get in shape. Bruce Willis, Jason statham. Mr clean. That’s the secret.

youshantpass

You forgot step 1: be good looking

stochastaclysm

99% of being good looking is getting in shape. Most ‘attractive’ celebrities don’t have conventionally pretty faces. But they’re in shape and dress well (and your subconscious also knows they’re wealthy and popular so adds a few points for that too).

fracked1

Dude would rock the EtH look

kazegraf

Don't forget to take uefa a license in order to become one of the legendary bald fraud in the league.

Renegadeforever2024

Goat

capiiiche

Trophy is a trophy nevertheless. Congrats to United fans.

WalterHenderson

This poor man is doomed to always win cups but not league titles. Happy for him, though!

SonyHDSmartTV

Doomed to only win cups, there is worse things tbh

WalterHenderson

You have a point. I feel like a player of his calibre should have won more by now, though.

TheMuff1nMon

Could be worse - could be Harry Kane

zamGlobal

Congratulations happy for them

MertOKTN

Funny to see Altay, forgot he was their summer signing

radiokungfu

Why does the announcer sound so somber lol

plantsarepowerful

Good on em. At least SOMEBODY finally beat City.

Anforas

Proud!!! He deserves it, and more! What a player.

smelly_diarhea

so sad maguire wasn't there to celebrate, has been solid in united's lackluster season

stridered

He was at the corner with Shaw.

RadioHonest85

Why does mctominay look like he is 12?!

Difficult-Tackle-985

A real underdog story this United Team.

Zandercy42

Still a bit sore?

gtrsdrmsnldsbms

Lifts the FA cup trophy in the soccer match final.
