To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. EdWoodwardsPA

Some Saudi club is going to have Varane and Ramos as their cb pairing.

PonchoHung

Meanwhile Pepe still playing Champions League football at 41.

cuentanueva

He won't next season. But in the end it's a choice. I'm sure Ramos could go into a many CL teams (which may not be the top teams, but still CL teams) as a starter easily. Now, if he would be ok with playing on those it's another matter.

janoo1989

aight so hear me out..

[deleted]

Wasn't Ramos spotted at the NBA finals in Dallas on Friday cheering on Luka Doncic? (P.s - they have a Real Madrid connection) I doubt he goes Saudi. Him being in the states tells me something's cooking with an MLS team more than likely. FC Dallas? San Diego FC or perhaps even Inter Miami.

Desperate_Study_9076

Or he might just be there to watch the biggest stage in world basketball. For these dudes with that kind of money, flying over for a game and returning is like buying chewing gum for regular folks like us.

dakaiiser11

Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t even spend a penny of his own money to go there.

adfdub

“World basketball”

superdrone

Dallas does have a large Spanish speaking population, but those aren’t in the fancy high rolling parts of the city. Also FC Dallas plays in a far northern suburb that’s so bland and generic it hurts. I would be very surprised if he played here.

Xx_Anguy_NoScope_Xx

Yeah, don't think he'll like Irving all that much. Or playing for FC Dallas. Plenty of bigger teams with better marketing opportunities of he does decide to try his luck in the MLS.

superdrone

Fc Dallas actually plays in Frisco, which is even worse lol

Xx_Anguy_NoScope_Xx

I said Irving for the Spanish speaking population, but yeah. All the suburbs are pretty boring compared to Paris and Madrid or other US major cities

FUThead2016

Inter Miami would be amazing

GrandePersonalidade

Don't be so quick to count Avaí Futebol Clube out

PrestigiousEcho1468

Inter Miami see ya soon

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

They really could use him on that back line

luffyuk

He'd absolutely transform them with his defensive leadership.

reza_f

I hoped to see him in AC Milan jersey

DDD3N15

Don‘t worry he‘ll join r/ACMiami

xYEET_LORDx

Wtf is that sub bro lmao. Didn’t know what to expect going in but was not disappointed

hypnodrew

It's like if r/soccercirclejerk was funny

ItsMeJaredBednar

The thread about them beating Real Madrid in the UCL final had me laughing hard

wavetoyou

I prefer the post on Sperminho playing for their U1 squad

classyboner

The lineup post is killing me Vamos

SiriocazTheII

It was conceived in soccercirclejerk, funnily enough

hypnodrew

Ah so a time capsule of when that sub was funny

cgcego

Just joined!

Angry_Old_Dood

That is a fucking fever dream

21Maestro8

Doubt it. Doesn't seem like we have any interest in Hummels, I'd be surprised if it were any different for Ramos

ArtemisRifle

Leadership is what we call it now?

MissingLink101

Wasn't Varane being linked too?

Evolving_Dore

Miami gonna field a starting XI of 35+ year old CL and WC winners.

El_Giganto

Varane is just 31!

MissingLink101

Ed Woodward should apply for a job on the board

Redditname97

And win flawless like the FCB Femeni team

HumanInHope

There's surely a limit to how much you can fudge the books to get another 'designated player'

Kasceon

MLS is actually really rules driven. They can trade away to acquire a designated spot from another team to get Ramos, that being said idk if they are close to their salary cap (designated players only count as 10k a week for the salary cap which is really decent)

KingSweden24

That’s the inherent tradeoff of US pro sports - it’s very rules driven, and the clubs/leagues take that very seriously, but in return we have to swallow the “build me a new stadium or I relocate your beloved team” blackmail song and dance

oblio-

See, you guys don't make it emotional and personal enough. Imagine if some US billionaire based in New York would buy Partizane Belgrade and try to move it to, dunno, Sombor. Partizan ultras would probably blow up World Trade Plaza, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty AND the owner's dog.

KingSweden24

Lol that got a good chuckle out of me This is why I laugh when people claim that Americans are “obsessed with sports.” We enjoy sports. Obsessed is European football ultras

chak100

Go to Argentina. That’s obsession beyond belief

ramurthy_avare

Damn you didn't have to get so personal.

Logseman

Relevant Bill Shankley quote: >Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.

WheresMyEtherElon

> dog That's out of line. Take it back. Cats on the other hand...

DirtzMaGertz

You can't trade DP spots. You're likely thinking international spots.

TerrenceJesus8

I’m like 99% sure you can trade away DP spots, and even if you could, almost no team would actually do that

tiwired

You cannot trade DP spots. Every team gets 3.

TerrenceJesus8

Yup that’s what I thought. Ramos would have to take a pretty big pay cut to come to Miami

DeapVally

Oh, many teams before them, in many different sports, have found a way around that, don't worry. I'm sure some Miami property could be made available to him for an excessive discount, well away from the books, or his direct ownership. That's the standard way.

TerrenceJesus8

MLS is usually pretty good with enforcing the salary cap rules. Miami got fucking nuked a few years ago for trying to work around it The last thing the owners want to do is spend more money lol

AdonalFoyle

Like what teams other than Miami got caught with salary cap circumvention? You act like it's a common practice

DeapVally

From another sport, Saracens in Rugby. Google them. They got relegated for it. Then there's 115 FC themselves arent above paying people off the books, so innocent in fact, they are taking the PL to court over the legality of the rules.

tiwired

Galaxy was sanctioned more recently than Miami. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/major-league-soccer-announces-sanctions-for-la-galaxy-for-violating-salary-budge

toasterb

> almost no team would actually do that I'm sure the Whitecaps could find a way.

penpen35

How the heck can they fit him into the squad, is he going to come in with a minimum contract? Is that a thing in the MLS?

DirtzMaGertz

It is but Ramos likely wouldn't sign on it. If they were to try and sign him he'd likely have to sign on a DP contract that is low enough in salary that they can buy down the cap hit with TAM. I don't remember the exact number but he'd have to take something like 1.5 million per year or so to do that.  Seems more likely he'd take a bag from a team like San Diego but who knows.

Breklinho

Rumor has been the new team in San Diego has been eyeing him for next season

ancara_messi

He's been said to join San diego

dont_shoot_jr

I know Ramos was teammate with Messi at PSG but it still would seem weird to me to see him running over to congratulate Messi on a goal instead of kicking him

Fidelos

It's ok MLS is not canon

jetsetmike

As someone that’s actually been an Inter Miami fan since 2020, I still feel like this is true haha

Evolving_Dore

Wow, one of the old guard!

dont_shoot_jr

Not even Reggie Cannon

WheresMyEtherElon

Don't worry, they weren't exactly best friends at PSG. Ramos was part of the European clan (with Mbappé and Hakimi), which clashed with the South-American clan.

basedjuicer1

Gonna sign for the Dallas Mavericks

oblio-

Physical and experienced, probably a good mentor for Lively.

EstateTotal6434

Saudi league or mls

The_Rolling_Stone

Yup it's pasture time

KokonutMonkey

I get that the money is there, but playing in MLS seems pretty hard on the old timers.  An average away trip is closer to the furthest away trip on most European leagues. They get to freeze their balls off in Minnesota and New England in March/November, then swelter in Houston, and the occasional astro-turf game. All while getting kicked at by a bunch of youngins.   Saudi seems worse though.

hazelpillow

Fat tax free payday awaiting him in Saudi. Oh to be a footballer

tenacious-g

He wasn’t really one to pay his taxes anyway.

Esteban7593

Oh but I thought only Messi and Barcelona players did that??? /s

Willem20

or .. .. BESIKTAS

antigonyyy

Anyone know why Sevilla didn’t extend him? I thought he played pretty ok this season (started every league game and all)

LSeezy

Sevilla wanted to extend his contract but he didn't want to stay. According to Quique Sánchez Flores, this season wasn't what Ramos expected: relegation candidates, toxic atmosphere around the club, etc., and it's only going to get worse.

ferkk

Yes, he was saying at the start of the last season that they could win the league or the Champions League. He had some very unrealistic expectations considering the state Sevilla is.

madueitor0

either del nido power struggle with him or deducting salary since their wage bill gotta decrease by over 50% for this season

R_Schuhart

His wages, Sevilla have financial issues and struggle with the wage cap.

Shinkopeshon

I know we need an experienced defender but don't even think about it, Redbird

Maverick_1991

Y'all should get Hummels. He'd be perfect in Italy

Shinkopeshon

Absolutely agree but apparently, we're not interested for some reason lol I hope those reports are wrong though

brandidge

Well Hummels does seem to want to stay in Europe, so maybe Milan would change their mind? He would be available on a short term contract and his wages wouldn’t break the bank. If he works out then extend and if not then it’s only a year long contract. This seems like a no brainer to me.

Ron-_-Burgundy

No no no, Hummels is coming to Roma thank you very much! We need all the help we can get.

Fingering_Logen

Why not? His season was really good despite his age, including 7 headers. If he was 20 years old, every club would be trying to sign him.

Maverick_1991

Yeah, but he's pushing 40

Fingering_Logen

Thats only an issue if he demands more than 1 year of contract. Also he'd probably ask more money than he asked Sevilla. But for a reasonable price you'll get brand value and, based on this season performances, a top CB with tons of experience.

raizen0106

What brand value lmao i don't think many people will line up to buy a ramos shirt or if he'd bring any sponsor

Fingering_Logen

11th football player with more followers in Instagram, 63 millions. https://www.givemesport.com/most-followed-footballers-instagram/ Sergio Ramos is a legend, like him or not. Legends bring value. Edit: put updated numbers

the_dough_boy

If your mother had wheels, she'd be a bicycle

Fingering_Logen

No ifs, this is a fact. Right now, Sergio Ramos is still a better CB than the ones playing the Euro with Spain

CoaxHoax

The effects of Monchi Magic will be felt for the next years

MereGuest

Bah gawd that’s the Saudis music

knobiknows

It's the Sheikh and his money in the bank briefcase!

Average_Pimpin

Custody of Sergio ladder match

PoisonHIV

He is coming to Coruña boys, back off.

FlippingFlip69

That would honestly be wild. Cool, but wild.

dazedan_confused

Manchester United next? Low expectations, high wages?

HCHLH

every former Madrid player have turned out great for United

just_another_jabroni

Better late than never after those 2008-2010 links I guess

cotch85

I thought that at first, but now I’m thinking Saudi or USA

dazedan_confused

Probably Miami, to link up with Messi again.

Wubadubaa

Inter Miami would make so much sense.

ProfessorBeer

Who else are we supposed to replace Varane with?

PitifulAd5339

De Ligt is available and Juventus would let him go for cheap. EDIT: of course I meant Bayern, silly. Not editing my comment to show I’m an idiot.

flaffl21

Fyi he's been at Bayern for a couple yrs now

dazedan_confused

We'd probably pay Juventus for De Ligt, tbh.

grilledcheesybreezy

Its bound to happen

khoadiemhuynh

High wages, low expectations, passed it, become more injuries prone? Don't you threaten me with a good time.

dessmond

I don’t know! I’ve seen him make a few mistakes last year that he never made in his prime.

DisillusionedSinkie

Come to Besiktas

boywithtwoarms

it was announced just today Pepe would not play for Porto next season, which is a shame because having both starting would be hilarious

makamaka8

They're both going to Fenerbahce. Mourinho wants that Turkish title by any means

rajmahal93

Probs MLS, saw him on TV attending Game 4 of the NBA finals in Dallas

bd1047

Very possible, but he also might’ve just been there due to the Luka Doncic RM connection

SmokinSkinWagon

Or because he’s filthy rich and enjoys basketball

xsonwong

Ramos Varane De Gea, Free Agent trio.

ImTurkishDelight

de gea still free?? dang

stpstrt

Probably will retire tbh

MrEnganche

That's sad. He's only 33.

stpstrt

No one seems interested and this point he’s been sat on his ass for a year.

kabbajabbadabba

He's still a top top cb, those who've watched him this past season will know he's still one of the best in the world. ik it's not going to happen but capi..... Madrid is kinda in need of 1 backup since nacho is leaving.

sevillista

I watched every match. He was fine, but he was nothing special.

stpstrt

Nah we’re good, thanks. Leny Yoro is the one.

kabbajabbadabba

kinda agree 👍🏻

Specific_Account_192

Come to Corinthians

Geoff_Uckersilf

Come to brasil

lowellJK

I see him reuniting with Mourinho, mark my words

Zeconation

Ramos and Ronaldo unite again?

danny_phan

Come to the A-League Sergio. You may be one of the greatest defenders of all time, but can you do it on a hot and humid night in Campbelltown?

Arlborn

Are we finally getting a Thiago Silva + Sergio Ramos partnership? We are, right? Right? Please...?

xsonwong

Varane Hummels and De Gea. I found a backline.

SpudBoy9001

INEOS dont you dare

Silent-Act191

Just rename to Real Madrid's Retirement Home FC at that point

NaturalApartment9828

This ain’t 2013

detectivehays

Come to Fenerbahce intensifies. I wonder what's his relationship with Mourinho, but Ramos fits his CB profile.

ImTurkishDelight

Nah man nah. After Lugano scoring ~10 goals a season I'm not ready to witness that shit again

Derek-Onions

I am sure Sergio Ramos’ big dream is to come to the Columbus Crew

poopy_toaster

Low key perfect for Philly lol

AFrozen_1

Weird way to say FC Cincinnati but ok.

aelfwine_widlast

Either Miami to complete Great Geriatrics FC or Saudi somewhere.

spect8me

"Come to..." amateur scouts working after hours on his social media

LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Ramos to Barcelona, here we go ! Sell Arujo to Bayern and sign Hummels

Cartmaanbrah

Perez pls make it happen

Gondawn

Don’t think Perez is gonna do it. He didn’t do it for Ronaldo, despite him wanting to come back badly and I don’t think he’s gonna do it for Ramos

dragcov

Manchester United here we go 🔴

xNullxF

He's always talked about Clam Chowder, so it's obvious he's going to the New England Revolution 🔥

kiersmini

Oh god. Please Inios don’t.

Waste_Economist_7861

Is it crazy id take him at chelsea for more of experience winning mentality sorta thing to guide our young ones

Mo_SaIah

Isn’t Ramos still really, really good? Like, too good for the Saudi and MLS level? Though tbf, Messi was as well so I guess Ramos’s current quality doesn’t necessarily mean that would stop him from going to a lower level.

stpstrt

Not really. He’s not “still really, really good.” He can do a job I guess.

pratap_10

C'mon perez bring back El Capitán for the next season if Nacho leaves for Saudi and yoro is too expensive because our team needs someone alongside Rudiger as both Militao and Alaba will need a lot more time to rediscover their pre acl form and level and Ramos can be good addition to it. I know perez doesn't sign players who are 30 plus anymore but surely Ramos can be a quality addition to our team if the likes of yoro and other defenders are quoted at a premium price by their respective clubs during the summer window.

stpstrt

Stop it.

mattijn13

Sergio, you have won everything there is to win, you have made tens of millions of euros. You are 38 years old, just retire man.

Arvivald

he is still good and his injures seems to be gone, dont see why he should retire just yet

Zuran

Is 38 that old for a CB?

Gondawn

Him and Pepe could unironically still be our starting CBs and it wouldn’t be too bad

stpstrt

Ffs the crap you have to read. They would be turned inside out by anyone who can move faster than 10mph.

Gondawn

Did you watch Sevilla this season at all?

stpstrt

Yes, they were a shambles. He can do a job still, but not for us.

Gondawn

Let’s agree to disagree I suppose

stpstrt

Doesn’t matter cause if you know our club you’d know Florentino is never bringing him back (as a player.)

Gondawn

[You wouldn’t believe it!](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/EewCStSWwr)

stpstrt

Very good. I’m proud of you.

ZMartinez

Ofc it is. Ramos being this good at this age is not a normal thing.

ExpiredMilknCheese

I mean tbf Maldini played until he was 41

Shadie_daze

Maldini is also arguably the best defender of all time, Ramos is in that group. It’s not normal at all

ExpiredMilknCheese

I know, but if maldini can do it, Ramos probably can too

mattijn13

38 is old for any position

mattijn13

Yeah, the only CB 38 or older who are still kinda good are Thiago Silva and Pepe and they have massively declined compared to how good they were 10 years ago or even just 2 or 3 years ago.

stpstrt

About the Euros… rumours in Spain that he hasn’t made the best decisions with his money. I don’t know much about horses but I guess they’re mega expensive.

essemh

Miami or Saudi?

glowingmug

Get ready to learn arabic buddy

Comunicado Oficial: Ramos

Inevitable-Tank137

How much you wanna bet he’s gonna come to liga Mx

xXRoachXx789

There were rumours of him talking with San Diego a while back, could that be the move for him now?

Tinkerman21

Actually he played really well for Sevilla. Wonder why he is leaving.

imtired-boss

Second time a former Real Madrid legend returned to his former club only to realize it has gone to absolute shit. Which is weird.

adonWPV

Would love to see him in the EPL

atlacatl

Inter Miami bound. Anyone related to Messi will eventually go hand out with the little dude in the US...

Ah I now get why they hate some arsenal fans lately
