Makes me wonder if the commentators of different countries use the same source for the trivial facts they often drop here and there. All these commentators of atleast four different countries simoultaneously talking about Lunin having a great season seems too big of a coincidence..
What do you mean same source? You don't need a source to know if a Real Madrid starting goalkeeper(well until Courtouis came back) who reached CL final had a good season or not
More it shows a lack of imagination among commentators in general
I've seen even worse this tournament. The german commentator for the Spain - Croatia game could barely finish saying that Croatia have control over the game before Spain scored the 1-0, and like two minutes later it was already 2-0. Really funny watching that live.
I really like Romania. Beautiful country, beautiful people, great food. Papinasi, gogosi, sarmale, visinata, zacusca... beers at caru cu bere and Manuc's in Bucharest (touristic pubs but still nice). Driving the transfaragasan or transalpina. Visiting beautiful old towns like Alba Iulia. The black sea and the Danube delta. It's a great land. So go and win it
When I got to Transylvania a friend put me in touch with her godparents to show me around a bit. A retired couple who didn't speak English, except that the husband was a huge fan of the Beatles and other British music from that era. So we basically communicated in Beatles lyrics and song titles, which was hilarious.
And they met me at the train station at 6am, gave me a shot of țuică and some slanina to welcome me, then we drove in their little old car around many beautiful towns like Alba Iulia, Sibiu and the castle in Hunedoara. So I was fortunate to see a local's perspective of the place.
I'm Australian and I spent 4 and 1/2 months working in Romania running training programs in a different city or town every 2nd week. It was amazing I got to see so much of the country (tourist spots as well as spending time with everyday folk) and quickly fell in love!
They offered me a job at the end of the program but I had just signed a scholarship deal back home that had locked me in so I couldn't accept but it was very tempting.
So they are the country I am supporting this Euros and I was very happy watching the highlights when I woke up this morning
> Driving the transfaragasan or transalpina
Are trucks allowed on those roads? They don't show up in Euro Truck Simulator 2, which is weird given the Switzerland rework where they added all those mountain roads.
Not only a shitty ball back by the stopper -- but also a lack of movement from all the other defenders, especially the left back.
If that left back tracks back, that striker either tracks with him leaving the clearance open or leaves the player open for an easy out.
You're right, I often feel like people only watch the ball. This was, before everything, a great pressure by Romania. Then stopper didn't have any real options besides passing back to Lunin. Then Lunin tried to pass the ball instead of clearing it, because they are obviously instructed to play from the back.
> because they are obviously instructed to play from the back.
I grew up playing indoor soccer as a goalie, where a sweeper keeper is basically the norm. Nothing drove me more nuts than a coach that beats it into you that you have to play out of the back.
If there is nothing there, go for the safest play. Touchline, Corner, whatever, just not to a player. You're the last player.
It's definitely a tradeoff. Alternative is Pickford yesterday booting it every time and losing possession. Some goalkeepers can either play out well under pressure or have some level of targeting on the long balls. Only some though.
Both are at fault, the keeper shouldn't be looking for the perfect pass, he should just clear it.
Reading the situation > being a perfectionist, wins you games.
The entire defense is at fault. Shitty pass back. Left & Right backs aren't opening up. But of course, it's easiest to blame the one guy on the field who isn't a specialist playing with his feet.
And after about 10 minutes he hit the crossbar from a CORNER, and yes, it passed Lunin so it would have been a goal. Great vision and technique by Stanciu.
Keeper is going to get a lot of crap because of his ball, but what on earth is the CB doing holding on to the ball that long and forcing a hurried pass from the keeper. Yikes!
Awesome finish though.
Lunin really doesn't deserve the blame there. Terrible from the defender to even think about giving it to him in that position instead of just booting it away. Put him under unnecessary pressure and made him rush his clearance.

What a strike
Banger tournament in only 3 days
Most of the games have been open and entertaining.
> most Sad English noises
Subdued Danish mumbling
Slovenia played very openly in the second half!
Belligerent Scottish rebuttal
Confused Mongolian throat singing.
The Group of Death(ly boring football)
Cries in Norwegian...
Hey those first 4 minutes were pretty entertaining
Sad but effective English noises. The Southgate Song.
top bins
Him "furiously" asking for the ball convinced me that he will send it over the stadium roof. Boy was I wrong.
Stanciu very much.
BINE BAAAAAAA STANCIONEEEE
MANCA-T-AS PULA TA, NICUSOARE!!!
Corect gramatical
BINE NICOOOOOOO
I-am deflorat pe ucrainieni.
All timer commentator curse moment lmao
Even they acknowledged it themselves lol.
Our commentator in kazakhstan was also talking about what a great season Lunin had, lmao
Same in Estonia lol. Seems like a lot of commentators around the world cursed Lunin at the same time.
Danish commentators were also talking about his great season lol
Makes me wonder if the commentators of different countries use the same source for the trivial facts they often drop here and there. All these commentators of atleast four different countries simoultaneously talking about Lunin having a great season seems too big of a coincidence..
The only coincidence here is that everyone knows he had a good season, and i think it's pretty easy to know when you play for Real Madrid
What do you mean same source? You don't need a source to know if a Real Madrid starting goalkeeper(well until Courtouis came back) who reached CL final had a good season or not More it shows a lack of imagination among commentators in general
What were they saying?
That Lunin has had a great season at Real Madrid
Great season at Madrid & how he’s practicing cross claiming. All timer moment
In the USA the commentator said “keep an eye on doku, he’s very exciting” during the throw in
I've seen even worse this tournament. The german commentator for the Spain - Croatia game could barely finish saying that Croatia have control over the game before Spain scored the 1-0, and like two minutes later it was already 2-0. Really funny watching that live.
WE ARE WINNING IT ALL, SORRY GUYS

You forgot palinca, mici... but cheers mate, all the best from Transylvania🍻🍻
This guy mamaligas
How could I forget mici? It's easy to forget țuică though after a few glasses! And of course, mamaliga must be mentioned.
All the best to you for the kind words!
I googled Romanian food. You guys seem to have awesome food culture! Enjoy the euros man
Alba Iulia is a cultured pick.
When I got to Transylvania a friend put me in touch with her godparents to show me around a bit. Fuckin A mate, glad to see people enjoying some good ol fashioned hospitality. That tuica and slanina greet is such a classic.
That sounds like a lovely way of experiencing new locations!
Nicolae Stanciu is actually from Alba Iulia

the transfagarasan is only open periodically, and only during the day most times.
Start a British campaign “Is coming Rom”
I can think of the Polish one - it's coming do dom(u) I'm sure we could come up with one for every country France - it's coming pour homme
Er kommt nach Haus' Er kommt nach Haus' Er kommt nach Fußball kommt nach Haus' https://youtu.be/a3AaRdVenw8
> France - it's coming pour homme doesn't mean anything but I appreciate the effort 👍
The best campaign ever was the “is coming Rome” after 2 month of bombarding us with its coming home and the homeland bottle job.
*English, let the jocks be annoying in their own special and unique way

Best goal so far, what a banger
..and this title lasted what, 30-40 mins? Until their third goal, which was an even bigger banger :D
That's one way to punish a keeper mistake. My god.
Keeper was put in a tough spot by the defender
Yeah I agree. Not only a keeper mistake. The defender stalled on the ball too much. But what a strike.
Not only a shitty ball back by the stopper -- but also a lack of movement from all the other defenders, especially the left back. If that left back tracks back, that striker either tracks with him leaving the clearance open or leaves the player open for an easy out.

Fucking boot it out like the good old days. I’ve seen so many goals being conceded like this lately.
Most teams are just refusing to go long in this Euros. This is very odd and stupid.
Wait until we play and Mert awakens Rüştü/Volkan genes and boots everything into throw-in.
I've seen a lot of scenario where that didn't ended up being a goal. Really great finish.
In Lunin's defense that goal is 5% keeper error, 95% outrageous finishing
He even started running away to celebrate before it went in. Must have been such a satisfying hit.
Of course but I'd say the CB that passed him the ball is more at fault here. His hesitation and the terrible pass led to that mistake from Lunin.
defender was at fault but saying he's more is just delusional
The entire defense is at fault. Shitty pass back. Left & Right backs aren't opening up. But of course, it's easiest to blame the one guy on the field who isn't a specialist playing with his feet.
A banger
Certified banger
Big mistake but that banger shot deserved a goal

Just as the commentator praised lunin
Proper thundercunt that.
And after about 10 minutes he hit the crossbar from a CORNER, and yes, it passed Lunin so it would have been a goal. Great vision and technique by Stanciu.
BBC commentator cursed Lunin
Tbh the BBC commentator is cursed himself, he's atrociously clueless about both teams.
Best goal of the tournament so far, absolutely beautiful.
Goal of tournament. 💯

Wow this game amazed me, a better game than expected.
Stanciu my beloved (why couldn't he do that when he was playing for us why why why)
He did. Once
The purists rewarded for tuning into Romania Ukraine at 2pm on a Monday.
Lunin fked up but pass to him was also stupid and risky, defender took too much time to pass to him.
Yeah everyone is focussing on Lunin while the pass to him was already really bad and brought him into a bad position
Horrid pass from Lunin but what a strike. We're spoiled this tournament
Another slotter. This tournament is a neutral's wet dream
Absolute banger but that was awful from Lunin
Dunno what the defender is doing either, took an age on the ball and put lunin under unnecessary pressure
What missing the Real Madrid plot armour does to a mf
Hai România!
Just listen the stadium roar. Unbelievable, I think we have the best supporters along Albania.
Lunin without the Madrid black magic be like:
(Great Strike)
Keeper is going to get a lot of crap because of his ball, but what on earth is the CB doing holding on to the ball that long and forcing a hurried pass from the keeper. Yikes! Awesome finish though.

Is this 94 Romania with the bangers?
There's no Sweden in this tournament, we're going all the way baby!
That's one goal for the next 20 years of best goals compilations sorted.
Aia-i bă!!!!
Poor goalkeeping but that’s a cracking goal
Lunin really doesn't deserve the blame there. Terrible from the defender to even think about giving it to him in that position instead of just booting it away. Put him under unnecessary pressure and made him rush his clearance.
What a banger
A fucking ROCKET
NUMA NUMA YEI
Hagi’s son is playing like he never seen a football field in his life
What a hit!!!!
What a superb goal.
by the way, 8 matches in the Euro - 8 matches with at least one goal.
What a strike by Stanciu, curled it right into the top corner. Lunin needs to do better there though.
Some teams need to relearn how to blast the ball away when pressured, not everyone can play their way out of it.
Football manager legend Stanciu achieves final form :)
Aha just as the commentator was praising Lunin
Can I start to believe?🇷🇴
Awful from Ukraine, but fantastic strike
