GnolRevilo

Imagine if the steward just spear-tackled the little guy

enbyloser

as god is my witness, he’s broken in half!

cjyoung92

BAH GOD!

Antique_Cricket_4087

Someone send Boris Johnson

HappySmilingDog

Where is Hazard when you need him

LukasNation

He's there, can't you see him? The kid is the hazard

HarshangLad

xButtHead

This was great thank you

blakezero

Red card for Casemiro.

acwilan

Well done, he’s 13

ned_rod

Like a steward did to Gonçalo horta?

Jimmy_Mac69

Ronaldo wouldn't see anything wrong with it

PM_ME_YER_BOOTS

That’s good bone-crushin’!!

Sciss0rs61

Yeah this is sweet and all, but start banning or fining the parents for situations like this.

WengerBaby

This along with “can I have your shirt”. Most of them end up on eBay.

TheJoshider10

This shit is always weird to me because why would you ever want to buy a celebrity related thing unless it had a certificate of authenticity with it.

chapeauetrange

Even if the signature is real, I don’t get the appeal.  Someone else got to meet the famous person, not you.  You did not get that experience.  You just have the guy’s name written down.

TheJoshider10

To be fair I get the idea of wanting something personal that was touched by a sportstar you have some attachment with, especially if you're a collector where certain names have insane value and there's almost a bragging right to having an item of value like that just like any collectable really. But yeah if it's without a COA then it's a waste of time as it won't hold any value.

Present-Forever1275

You should see the 45 year old grease balls that hang outside restaurants in LA with piles of merch for famous people to sign. They’re a sad state of desperation.

wizoztn

I can never degrade myself to the point of doing that or being paparazzi. Just zero self respect

L0laccio

I hate that. I was contemplating when did that all start? I’ve been a regular at Highbury and then the Emirates since mid nineties and i am sure it’s only been six or seven years but it’s definitely becoming more common and a frankly unwelcome theme. I know I am getting old and grumpy but it’s a bit entitled imho. In the old days the players would occasionally chuck one in to the fans, but it was more common for away games. Selfies have always struck me as a bit narcissistic aswell but I’m in the minority I suppose and don’t like my face ruining a good photo 😛

AsymmetricNinja08

>Selfies have always struck me as a bit narcissistic aswell Agreed. Interactions with celebrities are weird anyway because you mean nothing to them, especially in 5 to 10-second Interactions but in some cases if you can meet with a celebrity in a lowkey place & chat with them for a decent amount of time when they aren't being hounded by hordes of people it can be meaningful. Most celebrities talk about fan Interactions with disdain, especially selfies.

L0laccio

I know. They’re concentrating on the game and every time they come to take a throw in you distract them with your silly home made sign ‘can I have your shirt please’? I wouldn’t let my kids do that. Embarrassing

RushPan93

That's still harmless enough. Running onto the pitch is all kinds of dangerous for both player and runner

jug0slavija

Aren't they already? Weird if not. Or at least whoever is taking him to the game

carinafield

A kid ran onto the field to hug Ronaldo in Latvia some years ago. Latvian football federation got a pretty hefty fine, which they put on the family of the kid.

Sciss0rs61

They should. Also, as seen in the comments, people should stop romanticizing this behaviour.

ChiefSoldierFrog

It led an unprecedented amount of fans running to the pitch like 6 incidents. Ronaldo has to ignore all of them.

Sct1787

It’s not on the player, besides, people would find a way to critique and shun him if he snubbed someone off like that. It’s on the authorities to up the ante on fines/charges. I’m choosing a random number but let’s say it’s a $20k fine. Ok, you want to do it and pay $20k for a selfie with Ronaldo, be my guest, just know that fine is coming.

Complex-Acadia7720

This happened in Ireland before and the child was praised by the media. https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2021/1112/1259442-addison-whelan/

Sciss0rs61

Yeah, romanticizing security breach for attention is disgusting. Also, no doubt the parents are to blame for this, not the kids.

Available_Bit9019

Children do lots of dumb things, it’s a natural part of growing up. There is no child that would run onto a crowded football pitch in a crowded stadium to take a selfie with someone unless told to do so by their parents

RushPan93

Uh, you seem to be saying children do dumb things that parents can't control, and then you seem to be saying children don't do dumb things unless parents tell them to. What are you saying, man?

Malepronstar87

What kind of parents let a small child slip away from them in such a crowded space? I'd imagine even a small kid would need more than few seconds to get past all the people without the parents noticing. I might be wrong though.

RushPan93

I mean the kid could have gone with a brother or an uncle. But nope, assume it's the parents why don't we.

CoMaestro

I mostly hate this because the one kid who doesn't listen to the rules and thinks he deserves attention gets everything he wants, while all the other kids who behave will never get an experience like this. So fucking unfair to them man.

setokaiba22

Honestly stop it too. It’s sweet but it shouldn’t be happening and condoning it means it will keep happening. People saying kids do dumb things yeah they do. But there’s millions of kids who go to games who don’t run into the pitch and know not to do it

xButtHead

I'd say ban the kid for life and fine the parents

PizzaPlanet20

All pitch invaders need to be banned. They literally can pose a danger towards the players.

Hare712

In Germany there is "Eltern haften für ihre Kinder" meaning the parents are held responsible to shit their kids do.

DoorHingesKill

No there is not. That's written on plastic signs sold at Baumarkt so people can tape it to their fence in an attempt to scare away kids. It holds absolutely no meaning in the German legal system.

superbee993

Exactly. Parents are responsible for the "Aufsichtspflicht" which means they have a duty of supervision. In my understanding, in this scenario, if a child runs onto a pitch, the parent will not be held responsible for the act of running onto the pitch, but they will be held responsible for not adequately supervising their child.

North_Paw

This kid in particular is a Turkish fan, his parents are probably furious at him haha

cryptoislife_k

parenting in this day and age haha what a preposterous idea

CometChip

it always seem like security at games are the slowest beings on earth lmao

TheKingMonkey

They are on minimum wage and short term contracts. Can’t blame em for not being the most motivated bunch.

Pferdesauerbraten

They dont even get paid there, they are volunteers (imagine working for free for a institution like UEFA)

goombagoomba2

Often they would have the usual stadium stewards there as well though. Can't just have all volunteers

ExMoogle

pretty sure you get to watch the game for free at least.

Reese3019

If you have ever been to a football game, no, you do not.

Glorx

You have to buy a ticket to work as a steward?

ExMoogle

pretty sure hes talking about the security people have to watch the stands, not the game. These ones looked like they where watching the field tho, thats why i said "watching the game."

edn-

No, you just don't face the pitch.

Songrot

german security are not minimum wage short term contract. there are basically two types. one are professionals for corporations which are employees with contracts like everyone else and the other one are professionals but from the clubbing and streets. they oftentimes are well connected and know their bosses as buddies and are proud as fuck people. it's not like are a mafia or family gang but they wouldnt accept minimum wage. but they are also not pressured much. they just do whatever the fuck they want. migrants from turkey, balkans and poland brought the bro culture to germany which is sometimes a bit sketchy

PoeticKino

I've done football stadium security. First, in the UK at least, getting an SIA licence is incredibly easy. You don't even need to pay attention through most of the course. Second, a lot of the work when I was doing it was zero hour contracts, piss poor pay, and without any specific site training. At one stadium I worked at they were making teams based around the knowledge that certain workers didn't give a shit and they didn't want all of those in the same area lmao.

CreepyOctopus

The difference between the regular stadium "security" and actual security is painfully obvious. Whenever there's a pitch invader, it's obvious stadium security is just random people with minimal training and probably minimal pay, so all they do is awkwardly run until the invader pretty much lets himself be caught. When there's real security at a match, it looks different. At the 2010 World Cup final, there was some pitch invader who tried to grab the trophy before kickoff. But there was a real security detail guarding the trophy - police close protection officers or similar. That invader ran across half the stadium being chased by the much slower untrained security, and when he approached the trophy, one of the real security officers threw a punch and the guy was on the ground.

Wuktrio

They don't wear studs as well, which is why they are always sliding all over the pitch.

AdGroundbreaking3853

if you see at the end of the video it seems like there is a soul leaving the kid

pukem0n

You get what you pay for. They probably get minimum wage or even less through some loophole. Couldn't be arsed for that pay.

margolite

Awww. Now ban him for life

theglasscase

This really isn't cute or funny. Guaranteed there will be a moron parent helping this kid get onto the pitch and then effectively abandoning him because he gets taken away by the stewards. It shouldn't be happening and players shouldn't be rewarding it by posing for the photo.

ivodaniello

We had 4 episodes today.

50lipa

5 pitch invaders (4 successful) during the 90 minutes, and 2-3 more after the game

ItsMeJaredBednar

Pitch Invaders 4 - Portugal 3 - Türkiye 0 the worlds first ever 3-way football match

620five

I have no proof, but am 100 percent certain this is what happened at the last Colombia match, where a little shit ran to the field to take a picture with James Rodriguez. Fuck that kid.

Flylatino24

Bro you was at that East Hartford too, it was killing the game at the end

KnowledgeFast1804

It's kinda funny to a degree. But yeh I agree overall . Even if Ronaldo is like yeh no sweat leave him but then 100 kids try this next time

zizou00

Area 51 style, they can't stop all of them. Unleash the endless waves of kids! Storm the pitch!

Altruistic_Finger669

Completely agree. One day somebody will get hurt

skrztek

It's the whole Boris Johnson/Donald Trump 'If I can get away with it, it's ok' philosophy. I have had enough of it!

jimmyherf1

I'm sure this a straight A student at school and not a nuisance in the classroom.

morph1973

Make him delete the photo, more effective tactic than having stewards

Jorgemeister

Too late https://twitter.com/marca/status/1804637521986392495

GTA2014

This is, unfortunately, now a historical document. We’ve rarely seen Ronaldo at this angle. He actually looks his age. Also, he dies his eye brows, probably to accentuate the appearance on stadium TV cameras, confirmed.

imneversingle

Lifetime ban 😤

AdGroundbreaking3853

if you see at the end of the video it seems like there is a soul leaving the kid

imneversingle

Fuckin hell 😭

Neither-Ad-1047

Lmao kid was speedy

Shinkopeshon

[Great Run]

prestigiousdumb

Get him an NFL contract

Remarkable-Job4774

Titans got their guy

iChopPryde

honestly disgusting to interrupt an important game for your own selfishness i hope the parents are charged with a huge fine same for every pitch invader

symanpt

Can we have a rule in this sub against these posts? This behavior shouldn't be encouraged, there were 3 or 4 fan invasions that stopped the game in this game alone.

oklolzzzzs

security has had a stinker

Melanjoly

Ban the little cunt and his parents for life.

ClockLost3128

And while we are at it delete the photo he took and smash his phone

Conscient-

Needs to be further and ban all family members too

Lack_of_Plethora

ban from all stadiums for the next 3 generations I'd say is fair

frippmemo

Ban everyone for this child’s actions.

hibikir_40k

He is banned! And his children! And his children's children! For one year!

PuzzleheadedBoss4516

RIP Donald Sutherland.

QBEagles

Yes! Yes! Kill them all! Salt their fields!

Dunstfett

The whole village!

BigTomBombadil

All family members who took no part and likely had no knowledge of this? Yeah, that’s a no from me, dawg.

Conscient-

It will stop people from doing it because of the family repercussions 💀

someone_stk

the North Korea way, i like it

alex_co

No, it definitely won’t.

friebel

It might actually encourage some.

BigTomBombadil

Narrator: “It did not”

okaythenitsalright

Yes it would. Imagine having to explain to your second cousin twice removed that they're banned for life because of what you did. People would think twice about whether that selfie with Ronaldo is worth it.

yatzo

Do you have a dumbass family member? Like a second cousin or some sort? Now imagine that dumbass telling you that YOU can’t go to matches anymore, because he was stupid. Pretty sure you would think that’s not fair.

KristupasMeme

Lol wtf is wrong with you

DeapVally

Rules is rules

BigTomBombadil

Similar to the law, rules are often applied differently when you’re a child compared to an adult. Kid should get reprimanded in some way, but a lifetime banning for something you did when you’re 10 seems harsh.

KristupasMeme

Why call him a cunt tho

Krasnystaw_

Maybe because he stopped the game watched by millions to his own desire.

Next_Exam_2233

Yeah go ahead, let's ban a 7 year old kid permanently because millions of people who are sitting on the coach have to wait a minute for the game to resume! How dare that kid violate our rights?!

KristupasMeme

You really think he has any clue of what is happening, he’s clearly a very young kid. The only cunts I see here are his parents, who allowed him to do this thing. But if you get upset over this kind of moment so much, that you’re willing to call a clueless child a cunt, then that’s your problem

Krasnystaw_

So he is a brainless young cunt who doesn't understand implications of his actions. He has genes of his ancestors which are, safe to say, brainless cunts. Why do we need these people in society. Life time ban is not enough, I call for public execution all involved.

HaroldGuy

Brat? Twerp? Rapscallion? Bugger? What descriptive word would you be happy with? "Little cunt" may be a strong insult to you but it it's an appropriate level of phrase to use where I'm from.

Krasnystaw_

Who's upset. You are an idiot, plain and simple.

North-Reference7081

ban the parents. this shit isn't cute.

finneas998

Why do fans cheer this on? Pathetic Yeah I love spending insane amounts of money to attend games like this for it to be interrupted by some attention seeking clown.

FatBaldingLoser420

>Why do fans cheer this on? Pathetic Because it's a child. I bet his parents made him do it just to get a little bit of clout.

JB-TheThird

Absolutely baffles me that moments like this are constantly brushed off, and in fact people find it “sweet” because it’s a kid doing it, yet if that same person was 5-10 years older he’d get rugby tackled by the security and likely get a lifetime ban. Only a matter of time before something bad happens to the players or a member of the security because the pitch invader is carrying a weapon.

BadCowz

I will be disappointed if the parents do not get a lifetime ban (which will probably only effect the remaining games in this tournament anyway). We already saw in the English Premiership where a parent placed their child over the barrier and instructed them to run to the player. The father then got phycho aggressive with officials who stopped the child running on.

AetherialMan

Faster than rashford

kraeutrpolizei

You know he‘s gonna read this right? Just give the man a break!

Thraff1c

fuck of you brat.

TiredHack

Ban him for life.

imneversingle

One day, a player will be stubbed and they'll put measures to stop this behaviour

iQuteBromance

Shocking that the security is lacking when UEFAs head of security is Ceferins childhood friend

BillMcN3al

Kick him down!

hewlett777

This needs to stop.

wrdb2007

Messi?

ninjapenguin12

With that pace and only being 9 he will be starting for Barca next year

coreyperryisasaint

Chelsea have already signed him to a deal until 2046

WannabeAntel

Perez is staring project Mbappe 2.0 with this little bolt

BitterSheepherder27

Little brat

version2_0

Is Little Portugal also playing this Euros?

subrhythm

Shouldn't have taken the pic, why would you want to encourage more selfish arseholes to send their kids onto the pitch?

sixseven89

we have lost the impact of shame on our society

Zvyraznit

my goat 🐐

mathen

Speedy Gonçalves

hahaxdRS

That's my goat

TheStraggletagg

Why was it so easy to pitch invade this game? Was the security not on par with other games?

weenysandwich55

fuck that kid

rahtid_my_bunda

I was hoping to see the little cunt get boomfa’d I can’t lie.

doddi

At what point should Ronaldo be banned for encouraging this shit?

White-Tornado

Shitty parents

simplytom_1

Kid did more running than Kane on Thursday

-Dear_Ambellina-

🤮 (panting) he's the fastest kid alive

enigmaticsince87

Honestly this got old about a decade ago.

PerformanceOk4186

Honestly, this kind of stuff makes me so glad I’m an American. We don’t have these problems at our sporting events — our fans are too fat to run.

clipjo

you might also get the shit tased out of you

heatup3

Slow asses should be fired 😭

TroopersSon

Kid should be playing rugby the way he dodged those stewards.

boxlifter

Dude that kid is fast lmao

OneMushyPea

Uncle Frank from Home Alone voice: Look what ya did ya little jerk.

Chrisixx

Kid got legs.

Sallgoodmannnnn

That's some pace 😂

DefLoathe

Kenobi Leia getting chased by Flea vibes

letsridetheworld

In the USA the fat police would tackle this kid

No-Signal-2207

Discusting behavior. Stop being dumb savages. Or I guess starve to death after 2030.

flavianpatrao

Kid is lucky the steward had the speed of Eden Hazard but not his viciousness.

Questionss2020

Bro got pace

PedestrianMyDarling

This fucking bullshit needs to stop

stoneandnjpwfan

Parents are aseholes for letting him do that

L0laccio

His parents should be ashamed

CalumGoulding

The guy in the back not even trying lmao. I know he can run faster than that

ididnotchosethis

I bet tons of people are willing to pay 10k for that phone.

Ece_guy_234

Lmao

OneTinySloth

This need to be punished, even if it's a child.

DBIGLIZARD

I’ve always wondered… Do pitch invaders get any sort of consequence? Or are they just taken out of the stadium (assuming they can’t watch the match anymore)

kraeutrpolizei

If your parents enable you to do this I don’t wanna know what kind of skewed reality you have to live in day by day. Like, this screams of main character syndrome

GutlessTrophoblast

Who are you going to show this picture to? Everyone will think you're an idiot for running onto the pitch to take a f"&kin selfie.

Mintopforte

This can be risky. Security should be upped

petawmakria

Thankfully, the game was effectively over. But, yeah, don't do that.

2cu3be1

maybe make a sponsored pregame segment for these pitch invaders and let it be like 5, like they do with the kids walking out with the players, no?

LetterheadLower1518

That steward went to the school of Obi-Wan Kenobi toddler chases.

Spin_Critic

Legendary status at school. Grounded for a week by parents. Life's all about balance.

BidWeary4900

its like they gave a chimpanzee 500 euros in budget and 2 hours of planning time to organize security

SowwieWhopper

Kids got mad pace, get him in the starting line up

TheRealMylo

New record for Ronaldo! 4 people invaded the pitch to take a picture... and people said he was finished. Did you see the second goal? Haters will say he stopped running because he's old... but Ronaldo knew the defender was going to f*** up.

frippmemo

Little guy was hustling!

PM_ME_YER_BOOTS

Let’s acknowledge the fact that he ran off as quickly as he could and surrendered to the stewards. Had he been tackled, the game probably would have taken longer to resume. Stupid move to run onto the pitch, but maybe he at least had some respect for everyone’s time? 🤷🏻‍♂️

saschajf

Balls of steal...I'm proud

SimRacing313

Is the little fella rapid or are the security just unfit? 🤣

zeekoes

I imagine Ronaldo saying "Now run." right before that first steward arrives.

JazzyButternuts

German security is way wayyyy too lenient.

ShufflingToGlory

Well I for one quite enjoyed that. Won't be joining in with the calls for this child to be hung, drawn and quartered.

ToxicCobra023

Grumpy reddit users everytime on posts like these acting like little kid invading pitch is the worst thing to happen in the history of the sport, go outside please.

SeawardOfStanley

Little shit
