Kind of? I find the length of the game comes from thinking through the best moves rather than legislating the rules. Maybe if your brain starts to work faster, it will pick up, but I tend to take it slowly, since it's an extremely chill experience.
I just got this too and absolutely adore it. Very chill but thinky fun, with oddly some push your luck on tiles that might come up. I’ve played it a few times so far and it’s around 20-30 minutes to solo. Playing with others slows it down a bit as you can trade tiles and there is a bit more to think about (still probably not more than 30 minutes I’d guess once you’re used to it).
Grove looks interesting - I had read about Orchard 9 and looks like this is similar. I'm a little wary of cards though. Ideally I'd love something with chunky tiles like Hive but also playable at 1.
Orchard / Grove are fantastic small box card games with dice for counters. It plays incredibly quick (probably could get two games in in 15 minutes). The cards are thick plastic so they are resilient and have some heft.
Maybe Tiwanaku? A minesweeper meets sudoku.
Most of the roll and writes could also work like On Tour or Rawr and Write
Also something like Patchwork or King Domino (Origins)?
Should add for the record that I was inspired by the idea of “A Gentle Rain” but I can’t find it for sale anywhere
Railroad Ink is perfect for this
Agreed, the game I play the most outside.
Hive
Hive is definitivly a nice game for this scenario :)
Hard to solo.
He said 1-2:)
Hive in Five is a great little solo variant / brain puzzle: [https://www.tarpeygames.com/hive-in-five](https://www.tarpeygames.com/hive-in-five)
Beacon Patrol. A chill, cooperative, puzzle-like score attack game. It's like a fun version of Carcassonne.
Looks super cute - BGG says 30-45 min, does it go faster once you know what you're doing?

I like Grove.

Might run a little long till you get good at the flow, but how about Cascadia?
Kingdomino maybe?
Lacuna would be perfect for this setting with the sleek mat and posh components. Set up is instant and the box looks great as well.
I'd like to get Lacuna generally and still may! It is 2-player only though so wouldn't fit my entire need T.T

Azul has heavy tiles and I think there is a solo mode on bgg
