Yes it does. There is just no foam you can buy that will isolate a cartridge from the vibrations coming from that sub and speaker pair - especially through a wood cabinet.
I had my single five horizontal and loved it, but when I got the second one I decided to place them vertically to get a richer listening experience, and I honestly love it, I sit on a bean bag in front of the speakers and enjoy.
Seems perfectly reasonable. I would highly recommend getting that sub off of the shelf and onto the floor. Hopefully that's feasible given that it's wireless!
None of these people will ever be in your room so will not know how it sounds. By all means play around with the placement of your speakers but remember it’s your ears that are judging. You have a nice set up if it sounds good to you then it’s good
The one's are humidity resistant so safe to use in the bathroom. No need to keep the move in there unless you just want It to always be charged to actually take with you.. If you never leave the house with it, than no point having the move in their unless its a gigantic bathroom.
Will sound better if you can separate those speakers a bit more, but that's really only relative if you sit center to it. If not, not too big a deal as if your off to one side or the other, the stereo imaging won't be noticeable anyways.
I like the lights \^\_\^
In my case I had the ARC , the gen 3 Sub and a couple of One’s put together. The sound was great but once I replaced the with the Five’s it was like WOW 😯
Are your turntable and desk in different rooms or the same room? If they are in the same room, that is overkill. Position the Fives around your desk and move the Ones to another room. And in that case, I’d pair the Sub Mini with the Ones; the Fives have good bass by themselves.
Your one SLs are also too close and shouldn't be facing inward. Ideally you want left and right audio separation, at head height. I'd suggest wall mounting if you need sonoa for a stereo setup, at least for the SLs
I have to agree with you…you’re getting old. The arc and 1’s don’t have that much bass, I can’t imagine my arc, 1’s, sub living room setup without the sub.
The bass on the Five in my kitchen was absolutely bonkers on some tracks, Trueplay totally fixed that. 100% would recommend running Trueplay if you have the same kind of bass resonance issues as me.
Once you connect the turntable to a Five, you can send the same audio to your other sonos speakers. The audio will be the same and no delay. Although, when you set up the turntable, you have to select the 2000ms delay from vinyl to speakers, this is to get the best audio experience.
Just interested why you think 2000ms delay is better than 75ms delay? I have mine set lower without any connectivity issues, even when playing grouped with other speakers around the house.
overkill would be lining every square inch of all 4 walls with fives and lining every square inch of the ceiling and floor with subs. this is normal.. except the location of that sub. put it in a corner.
How’s the sound difference adding the mini sub? I’ve really enjoyed the bass with the five by itself when playing vinyl, but always looking for additions.
When I had my single five I enjoyed it, then I got the sub, it’s a game changer if you really like to feel the boom on your chest, you can easily turn down the bass intensity on the app. I just turn down the sub at nights. I do feel the difference with the sub, you should check it out
Hell no, you should see my whole house. I’ve got a 65” OLED with Beam, Sub Mini, and two Play:1s in a room that no one uses 🤣. The rest of the rooms are, well, a step up.
I’m planning on selling more of my cool clothes to remodel my traditional home theater. I want an Arc, 2 subs and 2 era 300s. So I’ll let you know if I do it
A good book for learning about placement of speakers is The Audiophile Guide: The Stereo, by Paul McGowan. It really helped me figure out placement and angle of speakers in the room. The book is available for no extra cost if you have Kindle Unlimited on Amazon.
Overkill isn’t a real thing. But you should move your sub out of that cabinet to get better sound
Yep, subs belong directly on the floor
I will do this, thx for the suggestion:)
Also potential vibrations could make the needle jump or skip. Better to move it away from the turntable
The fives are too close together.
The sub directly under the turntable seems like a risky move to me. You don't have any issues with the vibration?
I have the turntable placed over some big foam pads, no vibration hits the turntable:)
Yes it does. There is just no foam you can buy that will isolate a cartridge from the vibrations coming from that sub and speaker pair - especially through a wood cabinet.
No one noticed the Kermit the frog cosplay in the 2nd pic?
That’s my buddy the big frog, have had it for a couple of years now.
Forget kermit how does the cat like the set up?
Cat loves the setup :D
If you enjoy it. Then it isnt overkill :)
how do you like the 5's vertical? I always had mine horizontal for more of a wide sound stage
I had my single five horizontal and loved it, but when I got the second one I decided to place them vertically to get a richer listening experience, and I honestly love it, I sit on a bean bag in front of the speakers and enjoy.
nice!! glad you're enjoying them. i'll definitely do the same when I grab a second one then. thanks!!
The real question is… what does your cat think of your setup?
Oh she loves it, when the musics playing she gets close to “inspect” the speakers 🥹
Seems perfectly reasonable. I would highly recommend getting that sub off of the shelf and onto the floor. Hopefully that's feasible given that it's wireless!
I will take this into notice, thx my friend
None of these people will ever be in your room so will not know how it sounds. By all means play around with the placement of your speakers but remember it’s your ears that are judging. You have a nice set up if it sounds good to you then it’s good
Ayeee! Thx for the positivity

Imo it’s not! I have two fives a Gen 3 Sub and an ARC. The sound is just awesome!
I currently have 2 x fives and an ARC. Did you see a large improvement with adding the Gen 3 sub?
In my case I had the ARC , the gen 3 Sub and a couple of One’s put together. The sound was great but once I replaced the with the Five’s it was like WOW 😯
How big of a room did you put that setup in ? I was thinking of replacing my ones with fives aswell but I'm afraid my space may be too small
Are your turntable and desk in different rooms or the same room? If they are in the same room, that is overkill. Position the Fives around your desk and move the Ones to another room. And in that case, I’d pair the Sub Mini with the Ones; the Fives have good bass by themselves.
Put you cat in the cabinet and the sub where the cat is at! Have a great miaow. I mean sound
😂lmaooo
Now you just need a Sub for your bathroom, lol. 😆
Bathroom surround sound, with a 65” flat screen…. Oh and a hot tub 🤠🤠
Both sets of speakers seem too close together for stereo.. And of course the main thing for vinyl will be why don't you just use analogue gear..
Speakers do seem close. And that’s not the main thing for vinyl.. especially on this board. Analogue gear is irrelevant in todays world, it’s all DSP.
Your one SLs are also too close and shouldn't be facing inward. Ideally you want left and right audio separation, at head height. I'd suggest wall mounting if you need sonoa for a stereo setup, at least for the SLs
Tell me you live at home with your parents without telling me you live at home with your parents.
I’m fucking 19
Show us the bathroom!
Maybe I’m getting old but just a few ones and arc is too much bass for me(I had to turn the bass on the EQ to -5) so I canceled by sub order.
I have to agree with you…you’re getting old. The arc and 1’s don’t have that much bass, I can’t imagine my arc, 1’s, sub living room setup without the sub.

I wouldn’t say it’s overkill. I have Sonos around my house with likely expansions coming. Living Room: Arc + Sub Bedroom: Beam Bathroom: Roam
The Twinkly tiles look great. Are they easy to program?
They are easy to program and instal, also easy to expand your set
Could you add a link for these?

Awesome, thank you!
It only matters If it is ok with you. It is your room.
Nothing is overkill, ever. If you like it and it makes you happy, job well done.
It’s not overkill, it’s a mess
Have you considered getting some 45 deg speaker anglers. That way sonic frequencies can align for better immersion.
How do you have the turntable connected to the fives? Preamp to five? And then play through all? Or preamp to sonos amp and then to all?
My turntable has a built in preamp, so I just use a 3.5 cable and plug it to the five
And then do you play through the other five and ones too? Do you get any delays? Thanks for the info tho! It's what i'll look to get now!
Once you connect the turntable to a Five, you can send the same audio to your other sonos speakers. The audio will be the same and no delay. Although, when you set up the turntable, you have to select the 2000ms delay from vinyl to speakers, this is to get the best audio experience.

Oh I didn’t know that, I just had it on 2000ms because Sonos app said it was the better option
Maybe it is a better option, and I'm missing out! :D
You should definitely check it out :D
Have you tested your setup with and without the sub mini? I'm trying to do the same set up and I'm not sure if the sub is going to be worth it
Second this! I find my Sonos fives pretty good with bass in the room I have it but wondering if the sub mini really helps out
I was on board until you said the bathroom. Not sure what freaky stuff goes on in there, bur dont want to know.😅
My friend… music while you shower????
Let's go with that....👍🏻 😉
I specifically bought a move so I can put it on the counter when I shower. Who tf doesn’t like listening to music while showering? 😐👎
No, no.....I hear ya...I listen to music when I "shower" also. 🤣
Looks balanced to me
Overkill and I love it!
love ittt
Not enough really….
Yeah but what does the cat think about it?
It’s only overkill when Sonos upgrade the system and tell you your old devices are unsupported.
💀💀😭😭😭
