>Ran a 4.25 and said “nah I can do better”
Very honestly am surprised he ran again. Must have had high level of confidence that he would do better, as if the second run was a 4.32 that would probably really hurt him
Exactly. He is doing his biggest effort, putting a huge strain in his body. Already had a heck of a time so it was unnecessary. If Al Davis was still alive we know he’d be his first round pick for the Raiders even if they needed every other position first
The bigger question is does he believe in the Sun? Or black holes more importantly?
He’d gain more speed by slingshotting around the sun considering it has a much stronger gravitational pull.
*My form is perfect, I'm like Jerry Rice. Feel that striiide.. so fluid and fast. I've got the stride of a gazelle. A beautiful beautiful gazelle person. My body is achieving a perfect symmetry right now. It's that long lean muscle I've worked so hard to achieve. Hm.. I should've popped my shirt off.. God damn it I really should've popped my shirt off. I wonder if any women are watching from the sidelines.*
It’s crazy the difference between this and the already ludicrous guys in the 4.4x range. This guy seems like the fastest man on the planet. He doesn’t even look like he has to work hard. He’s just lightspeed
And then you realize the world record for the 100 meter dash is 9.58 seconds and realize this run doesn’t even come CLOSE to that speed. Fast people are fuckin scary.
The second half of the 100m is much faster though, since getting up to speed takes time. For example the world record for 50m is 5.56s, which isn't too different speed wise from 4.21s for 40 yards.
He also seems to be at ease. Like when you watch sprinters, you can tell they are giving it their absolute all. Dude just beat a record and, honestly, looks like he could beat that too lol
Honestly Ross’s 40 was only timed faster because the timing technology is better now. They did that simulation side by side and Chris was faster. Was probs faster than worthy too
Other players have run faster. Just not at the combine.
Darrell Green had a 4.15.
Bo Jackson supposedly got a 4.12.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/148958-the-fastest-40-yard-dash-ever
Those times from the 80s and 90s are such bullshit. You can’t compare them to the combine today where they’re all running in the exact same conditions using the exact same standardized timing systems.
Exactly my first thought!
Though I think you went the opposite way with it. It should be number of steps to number of yards. (For non-marching band folk, 8:5 is the standard marching step size. i.e. 8 steps to move 5 yards). So 8:1 would be 8 steps to move 1 yard, which would be a very small step size.
By my eyeball measurement, this was roughly 5:10 at peak sprint (5 steps to go 10 yards). So roughly a 2.5:5. Which is crazy. And awesome.
Yeah, I was just trying to measure his peak sprint step size, but for the whole thing you’re right! Imagine marching just over 2.5 yards per step for 40 yards. 😂
I’d say he’s an exception to the rule. I’m not trying to take an away from the kid for running that its impressive but NFL wise I’d take Zach Wilson as qb over him and as a jets fan that was extremely difficult to type out
Not really, you’d be surprised, having watched or been to most Texas games since he’s been here he is very VERY durable. There’s many huge hits or hits he’s delivered himself where he’s never gotten hurt or even shaken up.
I don't know, but considering Bolt was always slow to start (mostly due to his height), probably not as fast as many others.
It's the last 20-30m when Bolt usually destroyed the competition. In the 200m it was rarely even close.
No way any football player could get to in-his-prime Bolt's max speed and maintain it for a full 100m, much less 200m. That's why he remains (as far as we know) the fastest human being that ever lived.
I can’t answer that one. Only explanation I have is that they were video-taping it and went frame by frame for a more accurate time? I don’t know how the NFL does unofficial and official times.
This would be a absolutely ridiculous 100m time of 10.31 seconds, only 0.73 seconds behind the world record. Taking his pace for the final 10yds and extrapolating that to finish the 100m. Given he can maintain that pace for another ~69m though.
I'm thinking of Tyler Owens, I just remember the article where he said he didn't believe in space it mentioned he was expected to break the 40 record so I assumed it was him

Ran a 4.25 and said “nah I can do better”
He allegedly said he’s running again purely to break the record! Thats confidence 😂
"Nah. I'd win."
Love the follow through! Looks like he could score some TDs so y not
27 TDs in 39 games so yes he can score some TDs.
>Ran a 4.25 and said “nah I can do better” Very honestly am surprised he ran again. Must have had high level of confidence that he would do better, as if the second run was a 4.32 that would probably really hurt him
It wouldn’t hurt him at all. Teams take the best time. They don’t average it. The risk with re running is injury
Exactly. He is doing his biggest effort, putting a huge strain in his body. Already had a heck of a time so it was unnecessary. If Al Davis was still alive we know he’d be his first round pick for the Raiders even if they needed every other position first
Al wasn't wrong, he was just gone before Tyreek got here
This is something purely in your head
Do it with pads. After that? Do it against Bama. Then do it in the Super Bowl.
He beat Alabama.
Then he just needs to do it in the Super Bowl.
Then he needs to do it in space against a conquering alien civilization
Put Xinu’s rings in a box, put Jerry Rice’s rings in a box. Who has more rings
Then do it against a team of terminators, then do it on the surface of the sun, then come talk to me.
Til then? ZERO rings, Dan-O. The key to never losing a sports argument is having mobile goalposts.
Stugotz is that you?
Iiim gettin to it
“And I Just kept runniiinngg”
"I'm pretty tired now, I think I'll go home"
“Sorry I ruined your Carolina Panther partay.”
And running runnin'
What
Poor guy just quoting Black Eyed Peas “And Runnin Runnin” and getting downvoted. Lol
And here I was assured there's no disrespect in this context.
Cant win them all. 😂
But does he believe in planets tho
Yes, because he can use two planets to slingshot himself to even faster speeds
The bigger question is does he believe in the Sun? Or black holes more importantly? He’d gain more speed by slingshotting around the sun considering it has a much stronger gravitational pull.
They need to put an average Joe next to him so I can see how fast. Not me, I’d give up at the jump
Have him run with Rich.
Rich in his suit
come on now, give the rookie a chance
after boozin w Wade Boggs, RIP
I'm sure there's a Richard in his pants
They did an overlay of him against Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes didn’t even stay in the same shot, lol.
https://youtu.be/w9QJJzz0-fs Surprised someone hasn't AI done this for every combined run so people can do head to heads for everyone.
Jesus the difference between their strides was immense. It’s like Mahomes has never had legitimate running form training
https://youtu.be/AX8o7FKf6UU?si=j7HWs3ucQiBGGEFt An older video but it gets the point across https://youtu.be/2i28MU8-lcw?si=NUdTLNvxbgXueU1C
Rich eisen did one and they had an overlay, pretty neat watch if you ask me.
You ever seen the video of women’s Olympics where the daughter of some official somehow joined the 100m? About as close to avg Joe vs pro as it gets 😂
I think they just call it the Olympics
I'm a soccer referee (non-pro, lower level games), the fastest 40 I have run lately was 5.84 seconds.
Which is slower than Worthy’s college teammate, T’Vondre Sweat who is a DT. He ran a 5.27 40 at 6’4” & 365 pounds.
They are in top shape, I referee for beer money.
I don't think he was trying to slight you. Just point out that even the big boys in the NFL are freak athletes who can outrun 99.9% of people
To me, sometimes I see guys run fast 40’s and think, “that doesn’t look THAT fast.” This guy looks like he’s absolutely flying.
*My form is perfect, I'm like Jerry Rice. Feel that striiide.. so fluid and fast. I've got the stride of a gazelle. A beautiful beautiful gazelle person. Real champs eat at McDonald’s. I’m lovin’ it. Can I get the check.
That’s NOT the guy from the Cosby show… that’s not the guy… that’s… you know what, SPRIIIIINNNTTSSSSSSS SPPPPRRRRIIIIINNNTTSSS!!!!!!!!!
That is not Donavon McNabb!
The golden god himself
THIS ISN’T A STARTER CAR, THIS IS A FINISHER CAR! A CHARIOT OF GODS!
It’s crazy the difference between this and the already ludicrous guys in the 4.4x range. This guy seems like the fastest man on the planet. He doesn’t even look like he has to work hard. He’s just lightspeed

This. He basically doesn't reach max speed until 30 yards.
I’ve always wonder what 40 times would look like if they started 20 yards out and hit the start while in full sprint pace
25%(ish) faster is quite a bit faster.
Did you take the different distances into account? It's around 6% difference, not 25%.
I did not! Took a second to register even after it had been pointed out. Welp, off I fuck.
Ya, doing the math, this time would only be 11.55s over 100m. 🙄. Slow as fuck! 😬
>11.55s...Slow as fuck! Fuck you man!!! :)
It's the shoes!
The shoes?! It’s gotta be the shoes!
For me it’s about height. Taller guys having longer strides and makes them look less “quick”
That is for sure the biggest reason why fast guys don’t seem so fast to me.
I had exactly the same reaction. I’m not sure it’s actually true, but my perception was that he was accelerating all the way through.
Yea, towards the end he’s gonna break the matrix
He looks like he could take off if starts flapping his wings.
It’s like 15 steps over 40 yards or 120 feet? That’s 8 freaking feet per step on average and 4 steps per second! Insane
He also seems to be at ease. Like when you watch sprinters, you can tell they are giving it their absolute all. Dude just beat a record and, honestly, looks like he could beat that too lol
Will definitely get drafted by the Raiders. They love drafting WRs based on 40 times alone
That’s when Al Davis was alive
Henry Ruggs was under Mark Davis. Don’t think there is much of a difference between Mark and Al
I’d MUCH rather look at Al’s hair
Even present day Al has better hair than Mark
This joke just bowled me over.
Mark looks like a GTA character who survived an explosion.
Haha. He looks like he still drinks breast milk
Q: About how long would a 40 yard dash take going 156 mph? A: Depending on good behavior, somewhere between 3 and 10 years.
Damn 🥶
[удалено]
Remember when you drafted Jamarcus Russell
Yes
"Wide Receiver go fast!"
I was thinking that same thing!
He’s the fastest kid alive.
it’s just beer, it’s just beer.
I don’t know, can you?
Prepared to be fucked by the long dick of the law!
He makes *Speedy* Gonzales look like *Regular* Gonzales!
Yes! He edged out my old record by 16 seconds, and 4 minutes, and 12 hours.
I’ll finish someday, Kif
Nice
What was the previous record?
John Ross’ 4.22s in 2017, which broke Chris Johnson’s record time of 4.24s in 2008
thanks, scrolled too far down for this info
Honestly Ross’s 40 was only timed faster because the timing technology is better now. They did that simulation side by side and Chris was faster. Was probs faster than worthy too
Other players have run faster. Just not at the combine. Darrell Green had a 4.15. Bo Jackson supposedly got a 4.12. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/148958-the-fastest-40-yard-dash-ever

yea iirc christian coleman tried 40 yard dash a few years ago and got 4.12. Aint no way Bo can have the same time as a world class sprinter
not just a world class, the best 60m sprinter ever with the first 40 being his strength. He's got the world record.
Cowboy fans from the 80's having vicious flashbacks
Willie Gault's best unofficial was a 4.12, and he ran a 4.27 at age 48.
Legend says he’s still running.
Marching band 8:1 step edit: correction, 1.25:5 final edit: 2.13:5
Exactly my first thought! Though I think you went the opposite way with it. It should be number of steps to number of yards. No, you’re right! edit: wait, 2.5:10
Oh, I was actually a little off. From the 20 to the 30, and from the 30 to the 40, he takes about 4 steps every 10 yards. So 2:5!
I count 17 steps before the 40, so 2.13:5. ✅
Yeah, I was just trying to measure his peak sprint step size, but for the whole thing you’re right! Imagine marching just over 2.5 yards per step for 40 yards. 😂
Tough to keep horn on face at that pace
"From that day on, if I was going somewhere, I was running!"
[удалено]
Blazing fast
Hook’em!
What’s more crazy to me than his time is the fact that the dude is 165lbs. He’s gonna turn to dust if he gets hit in the nfl
Yeah but they’re gonna have to catch the muthafucka first
I’ll give it pre season and he is caught lol
People said that about Devonta Smith and he's been very durable
I’d say he’s an exception to the rule. I’m not trying to take an away from the kid for running that its impressive but NFL wise I’d take Zach Wilson as qb over him and as a jets fan that was extremely difficult to type out
He's 20 years old. It's not outrageous to think that he can put on some 20 lbs between now and his first couple of years in the league.
Not really, you’d be surprised, having watched or been to most Texas games since he’s been here he is very VERY durable. There’s many huge hits or hits he’s delivered himself where he’s never gotten hurt or even shaken up.
4 minutes, 21 seconds? Pshhh! I can beat that 🤨
Inb4 another “what’s the point of the 40 yard dash”
It tells you if they are slow as fuck. That’s about it.
I want to see how fast they run in full pads. Running at the combine is not the same as running during a game.
I bet this guy is also pretty fast in pads
Are you telling me they haven’t played a game up until this point?
Welcome to the ~~Oakland~~ Las Vegas Raiders
Hes basically running 10 yards a second 🤯
Just curious, what’s Usain Bolt’s 40yd time?
I don't know, but considering Bolt was always slow to start (mostly due to his height), probably not as fast as many others. It's the last 20-30m when Bolt usually destroyed the competition. 🤘🏼
Which is 31.2 km/h
Fast
Eyeshield 21
Why don’t they do these in full equipment? You don’t play a game dressed like this.
Big deal Put the equipment on everyone then have them run this. That would make more sense.
Bengals 1st round pick
[удалено]
That's the unofficial time. His first attempt was 4.25. Don't ask me what happens btwn the original clocking and making the time official
That was the unofficial time
I explained that right below the video my man
[удалено]
I can’t answer that one. Only explanation I have is that they were video-taping it and went frame by frame for a more accurate time? I don’t know how the NFL does unofficial and official times.

Should make them do this in pads.
This is what happens when you don’t waste any points on intelligence.
Went to school at one of the best universities in the country. Kid can run a 4.21 and is probably smarter than you on top of that.
Kid doesn’t believe in space or the other planets. Something tells me probably not.
Wrong kid, bud.
And when your mom doesn't waste any points on prudence we get you, the asshole who assumes the fast black guy is dumb.
Is this not the guy who said he doesn't believe in space?
This dude automatically assumed it was because he was black 🤔 quite suspicious
I'm thinking of Tyler Owens, I just remember the article where he said he didn't believe in space it mentioned he was expected to break the 40 record so I assumed it was him
It is not.
Sure but Deon ran a 3.78
But can he caatch and run routes in pads in the pros?..
Yard lol
Stop, Forrest, stop.
Dude should have bought those brakes from Pep Boys.
Is this the "space doesn't exist" kid?
No, sadly that's a TT kid who transferred from UT.
It said 4.22
Official time is 4.21.
Bo Jackson somewhere: “good try”
Why is this deemed impressive?
But does he believe in space and stuff?
I don’t believe he exists.
Should have him run against Buzz Aldrin so he can punch him for not believing in space.
Not even the same guy
Damnit.
That MF is fast
