Stupid question but why do totals rise or drop in pregame, only for the opposite to happen. For example Suns Vs Spurs was at 225 and then dropped to 224 but went Over and Magic Vs Clippers total was at 218 and then rose to 220 and it went Under. Usually when a total drops in the NFL the Under hits, why is it different in the NBA? Are totals in NBA just a crap shoot or what?

Vegas makes the initial total. After that, any movement is determined by people betting on the under or over.
