Rolls Royce sold 185 Wraiths globally in 2022. There isn't a chance in hell Cadillac are touching anywhere near 100 per year. I'd be surprised if they make 100 in its entire production run.
This is almost certainly not privately owned but instead a preproduction model or test mule. Those doors appear to be covered with some fabric to disguise the shape a little. Note also lack of center caps on the wheels - there would be a Caddy crest on them. And rearward if the front wheel notice the white material there - more camo from GM.
Tbh haven’t heard it in a while myself. It was pretty common thing to say in Australia (especially during the 90s. It was even in a tv show named Comedy Company taking the piss out of teenagers at the time. Time for a comeback now that a lot of things are Fugly these days ;)
There will probably be a multi year waiting list and not everyone on the list will get one. Not sure why you think Cadillac will have trouble selling these.
I mean its got nothing on a Rolls Royce but I do actually quite like the styling. Not for the price though. Maybe I'm weird but I like the old Citroens so found the Cadillac quite interesting to look at.
I would have loved to be in that design meeting. I just can’t image a world where a designer presented that to management and they were all like, “Yup that’s it - exactly what we wanted.”
I mean, say what you will about the BMW grille, but at least the rest of the car looks like a BMW. This looks like that god-awfull Accord wagon-cuv Honda made for a hit moment, only worse.
Yea the car is sexy, its just the beaver teeth lol. The normal 3 series is really good looking and all of the X lineup except for the XM and iX look good
I've met BMW execs and designers. They are very German. And by that I mean reserved and formal except in a few specific areas where they suddenly become mad men.
I think this is the main reason to explain their styling since 2005. They want brash and ridiculous.
One of them really stands out in memory because during work he was pushing 70, dressed and spoke formally with impeccable English. After hours, he DJ'd techno, drank everyone under the table, had the thickest accent, drove like a banshee, and hit on every skirt.
It was the most Jekyll and hide shit I've ever seen.
I’ve typed this almost note for note about the current gen of Honda Accord which is what I first thought of when I saw this thing’s big, long, sloping booty
It’s like someone said let’s make an ev that pays homage to a Citroen ds, but has all the awful Cadillac angular styling that is getting dated and tired.
It just kind of makes me feel like we’re watching a prop car drive to the set of a bad remake of the running man.
Edit: typos
>The car pictured is clearly a test vehicle.
Clearly, and my guess is they beat the shit out of that one with the ugly stick to make it even worse,
so that people won't spontaneously vomit the first time they see a real one.
I find it ugly from the side, but I think it looks great from this angle: [https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/cadillac-looks-to-its-electric-future-with-retro-inspired-celestiq/](https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/cadillac-looks-to-its-electric-future-with-retro-inspired-celestiq/)
I know I am in the minority, but I actually love this. It's so different and bold and almost too much in your face.
The EQS is just an oval.
The Model S hasn't been redesigned since like 2010.
BMWs all look the same.
Idek what Audi is doing.
Lincoln just makes 4 versions of the Aviator.
I realize it's considerably more than those cars, so visually compared to a RR is tough.
Maybe it's a lack of options but this thing looks great for it's company.
In my opinion, it reminds me of Cadillac's earlier models in the 1900s, they stand out, it's the car you easily know whoever owns one has cash. The 1934 v-16 phateon comes to mind on this
Its very very interesting looking. Definitely give me old caddy vibes. Im not sire if i LIKE it but i definitely think its cool.
Watch in 15 years every car will look like this lol. Just like the, just like that Pontiac. Lol
I love it. Looks vaguely cyberpunk but more importantly it’s an unabashedly flamboyant car that harkens back to when Cadillacs were the standard of the world
*Shrug* I dig the look. It’s bold, it’ll turn heads, and people won’t believe that THAT is a Cadillac… Which is the point. Cadillac was all about this kind of in your face, boldly elegant looks back in the day. Plus, this is very obviously a test vehicle; it’s not gonna look as prim and proper as the final cars.
Totally agree. If you’re trying to flex your wealth, ostentatiously different looking vehicles are precisely what that demographic is after, just think of G-wagons.
Additionally, I don’t even mind the design language. Old school caddies were massive boats. I think this looks weird and cool.
I don’t disagree with the general sentiment in the comments, that at this price point an RR is an objectively better purchase, but hey, maybe your country club is littered with RR and you want to stand out??
[Harley Earl](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley_Earl) and [Bill Mitchell](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Mitchell_(automobile_designer)) are rolling in their graves.
One thing to remember is that the person getting credit for the design is the studio chief (or head of design) not the designer that sketched (before more modern methods) the original.
Occasionally the designer gets credit. My father designed the Cadillac Voyage concept in the later 80s’. Instead of then design chief, Chuck Jordan taking credit, my father was credited, and he was just an assistant studio chief.
[Source](https://www.deansgarage.com/creation-of-the-cadillac-voyage-and-solitaire-concept-cars-part-1/).
Cadillac has made SO many great "personal luxury" concept cars over the years, how do they skip past things like the Ciel, El Miraj, Sixteen, and put THIS in to production.
I am betting this is a test car since it's in Michigan. I put money on it. There is no way Cadillac lets this thing out with mismatched body panels. And if you think about it, Celestiq hasn't been seen testing or on car reviews in the wild til now
It’s what I love about it. It looks like nothing else on the road, but a Herrera GTS maybe. Not for everyone, but in the right specification, it could look seriously exotic and weird in a good fashion.

I saw one of these up close in the service shop at a dealer about a year ago. I don’t care what anyone says, it looks amazing in person. Awesome presence.
That's a massively large car compared to that Corolla Cross beside it. Mind you that the Corolla Cross is considered a large vehicle in other countries.

It's a little ugly
Just a little?
That sort of money can get you less ugly
Or more, if that's your thing.
That’s what Mary Barra is betting on.
Ugly as sin
Hey leave sin out of this
Is the paint supposed to be different on the doors? And that sail panel will never look good, no matter how much time passes.
It's got a manufacturer plate on it, definitely a test or preproduction
It’s like three cars put together badly
You mean a lot ugly
Modern day Leyland P76. That ass is fugly.
Love the word, fugly. Did you mean to write that or a typo? I love words and this one is a keeper! 👍😀
Tbh haven’t heard it in a while myself. It was pretty common thing to say in Australia (especially during the 90s. It was even in a tv show named Comedy Company taking the piss out of teenagers at the time. Time for a comeback now that a lot of things are Fugly these days ;)
Awesome! Thanks a lot for that. And you are so right about these days. Sad but true. At least we have that great word to use. 😁
Ugly?
Unappealing, unsightly, to give rise to feelings of nausea
I think it looks great but you do you
Hideous. If I could afford it I’d never waste a dime on it.
Wait, only 185?!?!
This guy cars.
ELR v2.0
ELR was just a Volt under disguise
Except the ELR was beautiful.
Amen to that!
And out of those 100, I'd be surprised if they sold 1
They are only making them to order.
There will probably be a multi year waiting list and not everyone on the list will get one. Not sure why you think Cadillac will have trouble selling these.
But, why?
To separate rich folks from their 350k
Because there’s no reason to think they can sell 151.
Bold to assume they need to produce 100 of them.
Strategery.
Feels more like a threat lol. This design hurts my eyes.
Damn bro that ain't easy on the eyes. Nice spot though...
Rear screams old Citroen
Rear screams I modded it myself
[https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000\_SUX](https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000_SUX) Close?
that's exactly what i thought it was.
I thought it was [this](https://www.wired.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/the-homer-inline4.jpg) Simpson’s did it first
I mean its got nothing on a Rolls Royce but I do actually quite like the styling. Not for the price though. Maybe I'm weird but I like the old Citroens so found the Cadillac quite interesting to look at.
I LOVE old Citroens, but I'm not feeling it from this. The Ioniq 6 felt much more reminiscent to me
Patchwork color scheme hurts my brain.
That’s one ugly mothefucka
I would have loved to be in that design meeting. I just can’t image a world where a designer presented that to management and they were all like, “Yup that’s it - exactly what we wanted.”
Also the new BMW lineup
😂 probably bmw head of design doing some freelance work for caddilac.
Maybe BMW sent him to "help" the competition.
I'd like to add the Lexus mustache to this time traveller's list.
I mean, say what you will about the BMW grille, but at least the rest of the car looks like a BMW. This looks like that god-awfull Accord wagon-cuv Honda made for a hit moment, only worse.
Yea the car is sexy, its just the beaver teeth lol. The normal 3 series is really good looking and all of the X lineup except for the XM and iX look good
Rear of iX is hideous, why make the top half so skinny. Loose a tone of space in the back because of that and looks legit goofy.
The M3 looks so good from the side. Then it turns and it's like, oof, jumpscare. 🦫
I've met BMW execs and designers. They are very German. And by that I mean reserved and formal except in a few specific areas where they suddenly become mad men. It’s like a chopped Pontiac Aztec.
Whoever designed that shit should be put to death. Not really, but God damn.
Yes! What a comparison! It’s like the same torturer tortured both.
I’ve typed this almost note for note about the current gen of Honda Accord which is what I first thought of when I saw this thing’s big, long, sloping booty
“I approve this design.” -Helen Keller, Sr VP of Product Operations at General Motors
I was thinking Aztec, but updated and a wagon, and you nailed it.
Honda Crosstour can finally laugh at something besides itself
[https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000\_SUX](https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000_SUX)
EXACTLY!
It’s like someone said let’s make an ev that pays homage to a Citroen ds, but has all the awful Cadillac angular styling that is getting dated and tired. It just kind of makes me feel like we’re watching a prop car drive to the set of a bad remake of the running man. Edit: typos
Definitely saw the DS influence
I was about to reply 'even one is too many'
I like it
Like a modern take on a station wagon, but ugly. I'd be just as embarrassed to ride in this thing as I would be to ride in a cyber truck.

>The car pictured is clearly a test vehicle. Clearly, and my guess is they beat the shit out of that one with the ugly stick to make it even worse, so that people won't spontaneously vomit the first time they see a real one.
Yeah, no. If I was in the market and could afford one, I’d buy something else not so devastatingly ugly.
Holy fuck is it ugly
It looks like if a hearse, bmw 8 series and a lucid had a baby.
It’s like a redneck maybach
It’s like they set out to make the 6000 SUX from Robocop without realizing the joke.
you can almost see the vision the designer was going for before he got to the C pillar and shat the bed.
I’m about to say. This car has its angles and colors that work, and OP caught neither. (No hate directed at OP, spots in the wild work like that.)
That is hideous lol 340k I’d buy a used rolls
You can buy a used Rolls for under a $100k and a used Bentley for under $50k.
Score!
With them needing 30k in mechanical work lol
still makes total of $130k or $80k
That’s just oil and filter!
That’s what they are trying to compete with. “Trying” is the key word
Or an RS-6 avant, and keep the extra $200k +
Also a good option!
I think you can buy several used Rollses
Rollies
A fleet then!
I'd get an M4 and a 750LI and keep the other 100k for maintenance.
This appears to be a pre-production test mule due to the mismatched color body panels.
It is. It has a manufacturer plate.
I know I am in the minority, but I actually love this. It's so different and bold and almost too much in your face. The EQS is just an oval. The Model S hasn't been redesigned since like 2010. I completely agree, it’s so unique I’m a fan. The road presence also seems crazy in a good way.

My 1978 Chevy has its antenna in the windshield.
So just like my 2018 Skoda?
My Subaru did too
Same with my Land Rover from almost 20 years ago for a whole lot less money.
Fun fact: they ugly af lol
Same with my 2012 Civic.
Is that special? Even my 7-year-old Volvo has the antennas in the rear pillars. My old Audi had them integrated into the rear window.
My old 2000 accord had antennas in the glass too
*Shrug* I dig the look. It’s bold, it’ll turn heads, and people won’t believe that THAT is a Cadillac… Which is the point. Rear QP looks like a different color, and yeah, definitely looks like the “M” is present between the two blocks of characters on the plate.
It looks like they're testing something with the back end. It doesn't match the finish of rest of the car.
its the same pre-production vehicle thats been spotted around since summer last year, hence the mismatched bodypanels and the manufacturer plate.
[Harley Earl](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley_Earl) and [Bill Mitchell](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Mitchell_(automobile_designer)) are rolling in their graves.
I’m thinking the Pontiac Aztek designer is still working at GM
[удалено]
I had no idea, I’ll admit the Aztek show car looked pretty good, as was pretty typical back then. Once they got to production they changed so much.

6000 SUX [https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000\_SUX](https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/6000_SUX)
More than should exist, it's horrendous
One of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen
Have you seen the 2024 Santa Fe?
Looks like a prop car from Back to the Future II
Lmao!
Looks worse than the Chrysler limo from Logan.
340K is diabolical. I’ll take an Aventador
Looks like a corpo limo from Cyberpunk, I like it but even if I could afford it I wouldn’t buy it.
This ugly POS is literally the 6000 SUX from ROBOCOP.
I'm getting slight - SLIGHT - 6000 SUX vibes from the shape.
[similar](https://www.google.fi/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fpreviews.123rf.com%2Fimages%2Fnitinut380%2Fnitinut3801610%2Fnitinut380161000098%2F63544952-chiangmai-thailand-october-2-2016-private-old-car-citroen-cx-2400-pallas-photo-at-road-no-121-about.jpg&tbnid=_S7QwToCrBu69M&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fhaljine-za-svadbe.rs%2F%3Fq%3Dcitroen-cx-page-classic-cars-and-yesterday-s-heroes-uu-bXP6ARHb&docid=XVMz7P5BeWnolM&w=1300&h=866&itg=1&hl=en-fi)
And the doors are a different color, just like my 16 year old neighbor's '06 Jeep Compass.
It’s ugly because it’s a test mule, a road going prototype. The GM HQ is less than one hour away.
One too many
Boomer Guinea’s wet dream:
That ass end gives me Taurus wagon vibes.
Designers be like "You know what my sporty caddy coupe needs? A diaper."
How can something so ugly be so expensive?
If they removed the sloped back and kept the \ _ it would look better Also to long
Someone actually made a 6000 SUX? Unfortunate
6000 SUX
It looks like the 600 SUX from Robocop
these look straight out of cyberpunk 2077
It’s what I love about it. It looks like nothing else on the road, but a Herrera GTS maybe. Not for everyone, but in the right specification, it could look seriously exotic and weird in a good fashion.
Looks like something from RoboCop
Looks like a fake car from an 80’s action scifi movie.
Things fuck ugly….
This car is going to have the most spectacular depreciation we’ve ever seen. High end EVs already see high depreciation even from enthusiast driven manufacturers like Porsche. Rolls has their badge as a slight hedge. This is going to be stuck in neither camp.
it looks… yeah
hopefully not very many that thing is FUGLY.
Someone paid $340k for a cyberpunk hearse
I bet the back seat area is really roomy
One too many.
Wow, it’s like the cyber truck but with Homer flare!
at 340k, none should exist. gross
Hot take: it looks like a redneck monstrosity.
Quick reminder to everyone this is still a prototype and the panels miss matching are from test builds
I’ve heard optioned out these are north of $500k. No idea why anyone would choose this over a RR spectre if they are in the market for a luxury EV at the top end.
Seriously. There’s no comparison in quality. Idc what it looks like, I would never buy a 250k Cadillac even if I could easily justify the expense.
I wouldn't buy it for $25k if it came from a GM plant.
wtf
What's with the fugly two-toneish thing going on with the body panels? Can they not match paint in the GM factory?
It’s a prototype. Notice the manufacturer plates.
[i've seen this before](https://simpsons.fandom.com/wiki/The_Homer?file=TheHomer)
Too many, I’d say.
U guys r hilarious 😂 Keep it chill tho. I put a tw for a reason lol
It’s has an M plate so I’m guessing there aren’t many
I wouldn’t imagine there’s more than a few dozen in existence, if that
The planned production would see only 150 units maximum.
Would appear to be a testing mule
Looks French 🇫🇷
Crazy presence
Kinda looks like it belongs in Cuberpunk with some Maelstrom graphics on it.
Same plastic cladding on the back corners instead of windows to reduce visibility like the Lyriq
Yall got a lot of hate for this design. While I'm not crazy about it, it does get me excited for the future of automotive design. At least companies are trying new things these days. Cars have looked so samey since ~2010
Well, it’s not quite cybertruck level ugly.
It looks like it's a prototype, but at the same time, it looks like a funeral home car lol.
That is one fucking ugly vehicle.
Huge car
Too many
They mounted the ass upside down
I saw one of these up close in the service shop at a dealer about a year ago. I don’t care what anyone says, it looks amazing in person. Awesome presence.
Tha That is a lotta $$ for a whole lotta ugly
That or a Rolls Royce….yeah I think my decision would be easy if I was a rich dude who wanted a non-performance car for $350k.
At least 1 too many.
1 too many
That's a massively large car compared to that Corolla Cross beside it. Mind you that the Corolla Cross is considered a large vehicle in other countries.
Outside look pretty ugly. But that interior looks like a spaceship, which I kinda dig
Did I not get the memo? Are manufacturers having a competition to see who can make the most ridiculous design?
That’s an M-plated car
ugh. it's hideous!
