before I had covid, I did this too, but after, my receptors are kinda fucky so I was going with the regular amount. I cannot possibly imagine going beyond double.
Yeah, all coffee got way more bitter for me. I used to love dark roast and now it tastes like how cigarette ash in water smells. And then also carrots and sweet potatoes taste like chewing on pennies. It’s still a problem, and really frustrating.
Coffee is really hard for me to drink now too. I used to be able to do drip with creamer and now I have to get flavored lattes to do any coffee ☹️ but luckily that was my only issue after covid
I don't get wanting all that extra sugar. It makes you feel great for about 30 minutes, but then the rest of the day is a complete slog as you deal with the sugar crash. Just drink coffee with some milk to balance the acidity, and you won't have to deal much of a crash at all
Pre-Gastric bypass me indulged in a very similar drink, every day for 3 years. I remember using the mobile order feature specifically to avoid the shame of saying the order.
Did the math and this should have around 638 calories...is it bad that this doesn't even sound that bad to me in comparison to some things I've seen on here?
The calories might not be terrible (although that is still more than you'd find in the average healthy meal); however, the amount of sugar that those calories come from *is* terrible.
Oh for sure. It's not recommended to eat over 25g of added sugars each day; this must have at bare minimum 3x that amount. And something tells me the type of person to order this drink on the regular probably isn't eating an entirely clean eating, no added sugars diet the rest of the day.
Just go get a pint of ice cream already!
Edit: after all of these posts, I'm convinced the people who order these horrendous "drinks" do not follow this sub.
Exactly! I honestly have a sweet tooth, but I’ve been monitoring my sugar intake as of late. I don’t drink soda though I do enjoy sweet tea or lemonade occasionally. Scary how people can drink stuff like this with 50+ grams multiple times a week.
Back when I worked in a warehouse that was close to a Starbucks, I would get something similar. I needed it after a long ass day. I had some weird need for the sugar. These days, I'm fine with lightly sugared stuff.
Nobody's talking about the fact Samantha ordered two of these behemoths? Do you _really_ think she has a best friend who also enjoys oatmilk and twenty pumps?
Im fine with adding a lot of flavor but for some reason its the extra classic that grosses me out. Ok add your 4-5 extra pumps but its still not SWEET enough that you need straight up sugar?? I’ll never understand.
I have a regular who gets a venti iced coffee, full pumps classic, full pumps vanilla, and 8 pumps sugar free vanilla with half and half and vanilla sweet cream. Comes multiple times a week
I wonder why she orders the sugar free after all the sugar from the other syrups already? 🤔 I also heard that the sugar free stuff was way worse for you.
I’m used to this as a night shift but I was told by the openers that it wasn’t as prevalent. Why should I be surprised by any drink like this anymore, honestly? 🥲
people TRULY need a reality check for their orders!! i was on dto today and someone got a trenta iced coffee with french vanilla (which is vanilla + hazelnut, for customers who don’t know, which comes to 14 pumps total for a trenta. asked her if she wanted to keep the classic and she sounded a bit confused but said yes. 21 pumps bruh!! i’m not gonna micromanage peoples orders and ask if they’re sure they want that much syrup because it’s none of my business, but damn
This post just reminded me of a regular I used to have that would order a Trenta black tea with 30 pumps of classic and at LEAST 10 pumps of raspberry. Wild shit.
I had a friend in high-school that struggled to put on weight and was encouraged to drink calories. She would drink a lot of stuff like this and milkshakes. I felt awful for her because regardless of the side of an eating disorder you're on it is horrible.
had someone order a grande iced coffee
with 5 pumps mocha, 5 pumps white mocha which almost filled to the first line. they also wanted almond milk and vanilla sweet cream cold foam.
they literally got 1/2 of iced coffee like ma’am ??😭 you’re not getting waking up bc of the caffeine, you’re waking up bc of the sugar
I mean it's probably more because health care costs so much and people can't afford to go to the doctor but sure, blame starbucks.
edit: y'all are right, it's both.
It's both, but when you add up the bad habits of many Americans coupled with capitalist greed and for-profit healthcare, it's no wonder the system is so fucked here.
It isn't. I'm in the US. McDonald's & InandOut are basically religions. And b/f anyone blames poverty- that shit ain't cheap. Also, believe it or not, there are places to get affordable produce. I have been homeless and I could still manage that.
The McDonald's in my town constantly has a lineup of at least 10 cars, and the hour-long wait time is always a main topic of conversation on our community FB page. I truly don't understand it - I'd be hard-pressed to wait an hour at a nice restaurant!
Although there’s another regular customer who brings his own 5lb bag of sugar to add spoonfuls to his coffee ☕️ the first time I saw it he had it in a ziplock bag and I thought what the…?! And he said, “It’s not cocaine! It’s sugar!” 😂 he is a kind older man and to be fair he drinks straight up black coffee with the added sugar. Not like this other madness.
If it were me, I’d get these to last a day or 2, pouring over new ice, adding cold brew, (both easier to come by than all that flavoring) basically using as Starbucks flavor concentrate.
While I wouldn’t drink the over sugary drinks some of our customers order, it would’ve been nice if OP would’ve crossed out their customers name. That’s kinda shitty. Hopefully Samantha doesn’t use Reddit. She’ll likely recognize her drink 🥲
I took a screen shot of Samantha’s order. Ima show it to the barista at Starbucks next time I go there and have them fix it for me. Ima give Samantha’s coffee a try. See how it tastes.
Maybe they just wanted to try something crazy lol. I’m usually a pretty healthy person but I probs get something like this to split w my bf when I rack up 150 stars.
There should be a limit to the amount of pumps you can add… like a government/fda set amounts of pumps of sugar syrups! This can cause a number of health issues if youre having that amount of sugar every day.
I literally order *less* pumps than are standard in any starbucks drinks, but thats just me i cant handle too much sugar and have no desire to be able to handle that much.
Nope. Only the initial charge for a single syrup. So adding vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut will cost the same as just adding vanilla. And extra pumps do not cost more.
LOL - holy crap. I went to Starbucks with my husband after dinner on Saturday night. I thought about getting the pistachio cream cold brew, but inevitably got my typical plain black Americano. Some people don't like they coffee, they like dessert, which is fine but yeah...
I have a lady get 30 pumps vanilla in a latte made with sweetcream and topped with sweet foam… the vanilla goes to the bottom line of the venti cup and the shots sit on top of the syrup when they’re pulled…. I want to tell her that this is going to kill her so bad. My only hope is she doesn’t produce insulin and this is how she gets sugar…. But I seriously doubt that
I had a guy at drive order a grande misto with 10 pumps caramel, 5 pumps vanilla, 5 pumps toffee nut and extra whip yesterday and that's stuck with me.
This makes my teeth hurt. I might be on the opposite end of the spectrum because I don’t really like artificial sweetness, but I’m a sucker for pumpkin spice. I usually just get 1 or 2 pumps on a venti with extra topping (the spice powder). Any more and i can’t drink it because it’s too sweet.
We have a regular that gets 14 pumps of classic in a venti iced coffee. Seriously in no way am I judging- I just absolutely would not be able to stand the sweetness. Lol
I always feel like I add too many pumps/make my drinks too sugary until I come on and see things like this. Makes my 7 total pumps not seem too crazy
Venti comes with 6 pumps standard so 7 pumps is still relatively normal. Lol
But 6 is still a lot of sugar already. I feel bad when I get a tall coffee with more than oat milk.
I've been halving my pumps. Always found the standard amount too sweet.
before I had covid, I did this too, but after, my receptors are kinda fucky so I was going with the regular amount. I cannot possibly imagine going beyond double.
I recently caught covid but was asymptomatic except for my taste buds (my caramel macchiato tasted bitter).
Yeah, all coffee got way more bitter for me. I used to love dark roast and now it tastes like how cigarette ash in water smells. And then also carrots and sweet potatoes taste like chewing on pennies. It’s still a problem, and really frustrating.
If it's our Italian roast, that stuff definitely tastes like the bottom of a bar ashtray.
Coffee is really hard for me to drink now too. I used to be able to do drip with creamer and now I have to get flavored lattes to do any coffee ☹️ but luckily that was my only issue after covid
Me too! I thought I was the only one that did this! Sugar is not my friend! Lol
Stevia was goat when I was a partner
I don't get wanting all that extra sugar. It makes you feel great for about 30 minutes, but then the rest of the day is a complete slog as you deal with the sugar crash. Just drink coffee with some milk to balance the acidity, and you won't have to deal much of a crash at all
Totally agree!!!
They just wanted a coffee flavored milk shake minus the shake, sub oatmilk.
With these posts, I've started looking at the top line to see what the drink started out as. Pretty sure these no longer qualify as "iced coffee".
i think a milk shake isn't even this sweet.
Ur a hero for looking up the calories
Wow I was really sure it was like over 9000
The calories might not be terrible (although that is still more than you'd find in the average healthy meal); however, the amount of sugar that those calories come from *is* terrible.
Oh for sure. It's not recommended to eat over 25g of added sugars each day; this must have at bare minimum 3x that amount. And something tells me the type of person to order this drink on the regular probably isn't eating an entirely clean eating, no added sugars diet the rest of the day.
It sounds good to me too- just way less pumps of all of the syrups
Just go get a pint of ice cream already! Edit: after all of these posts, I'm convinced the people who order these horrendous "drinks" do not follow this sub.
It’s the 20 pumps of sugar for me …..
About 100 grams alone
And then you have the sugar from the milk, whipped cream and drizzles. In US recommended daily allowance of sugar is 25 to 36 grams. Yikes.
Exactly! I honestly have a sweet tooth, but I’ve been monitoring my sugar intake as of late. I don’t drink soda though I do enjoy sweet tea or lemonade occasionally. Scary how people can drink stuff like this with 50+ grams multiple times a week.
🤢🤢🤢
Holy sugar!! Samantha, if you're reading this, please confirm you're not in a diabetic coma!?!?
Samantha is naughty
At this point just eat ice cream for breakfast
I'll tell you what tho you made that look stunning
And im over here thinking im being extra for asking for extra caramel on my frap
Back when I worked in a warehouse that was close to a Starbucks, I would get something similar. I needed it after a long ass day. I had some weird need for the sugar. These days, I'm fine with lightly sugared stuff.
Vanilla and caramel… okay fine. But why add 10 pumps classic?? As if it’s not sweet enough already??
"But it has oat milk in it so it's healthy!"
Lol
Nobody's talking about the fact Samantha ordered two of these behemoths? Do you _really_ think she has a best friend who also enjoys oatmilk and twenty pumps?
Im fine with adding a lot of flavor but for some reason its the extra classic that grosses me out. Ok add your 4-5 extra pumps but its still not SWEET enough that you need straight up sugar?? I’ll never understand.
And then watch her add sprinkles lol jk
That’s legit like 600 grams of sugar…
I have a regular who gets a venti iced coffee, full pumps classic, full pumps vanilla, and 8 pumps sugar free vanilla with half and half and vanilla sweet cream. Comes multiple times a week
She’s super nice and I adore her, but I do not understand her drink at all. I like sweet but that’s too much for me
I wonder why she orders the sugar free after all the sugar from the other syrups already? 🤔 I also heard that the sugar free stuff was way worse for you.
I have no idea. I wish I knew but at this point I’m too scared to ask
God bless Samantha's pancreas.
Or you can have a nice grande iced americano with cream - only $4.05 in my region 😅.
An insult to coffee beans.
girliepop ordering the whole menu in one drink 😭 cf AND whip????
creamie
I personally don’t understand getting both😫
I know we’re not responsible for customers’ choices, but a part of me feels bad watching people slowly kill themselves consuming this shit.
I would totally drink this and go into a diabetic coma
It made my teeth and stomach hurt just reading the tag
Me too! I probably would be seizing before walking out the door 🚪 poor people in that store!
At 9 AM??? 😳
An insane amount of sugar, yes, but I’ve learned to not question the time anymore. Night shifts and the like.
I’m used to this as a night shift but I was told by the openers that it wasn’t as prevalent. Why should I be surprised by any drink like this anymore, honestly? 🥲
Yeah, there’s not a single creation that’s surprises me anymore, LOL.
🙀😵💫
people TRULY need a reality check for their orders!! i was on dto today and someone got a trenta iced coffee with french vanilla (which is vanilla + hazelnut, for customers who don’t know, which comes to 14 pumps total for a trenta. asked her if she wanted to keep the classic and she sounded a bit confused but said yes. 21 pumps bruh!! i’m not gonna micromanage peoples orders and ask if they’re sure they want that much syrup because it’s none of my business, but damn
🤢🤢
I has a customer who would get 25 -30 packs of sugar in a tall coffee! I was … horrified….
had someone ask for a sample cup of coffee with 9 sugars on the side and i just watched him put them all in the coffee like sir 🤠
If you let that coffee cool down, it would become a solid sugar crystal with a faint coffee smell.
YoU nEeD tO rUn To StArBuCkS aNd TrY tHiS It's called *The SUGAR DUMPSTER* Here's how to order:
and then they turn around and say 'i love my morning coffee'
Wouldn’t this be around 20$ for 1 drink?? That’s absurd
I’m genuinely curious what the price is for one of these.
When I rung it up without a partner discount in the app, it was $9.09 for one and $18.19 for the two. 🤮
Thank you. I can’t get my head around the price of these things! Especially when partners tell us these are regular orders 😳
I love when they get 2 sugar monstrosities because it only leads me to believe that they told a friend “this drink is soooo good you HAVE to try it!”
This post just reminded me of a regular I used to have that would order a Trenta black tea with 30 pumps of classic and at LEAST 10 pumps of raspberry. Wild shit.
We have a regular that orders a trenta black iced tea w no water , extra vsc and 14 pumps of brown sugar😫
That’s disgusting though, FORTY PUMPS!!!
It's just a liquid dessert.
Fair enough!
I had a friend in high-school that struggled to put on weight and was encouraged to drink calories. She would drink a lot of stuff like this and milkshakes. I felt awful for her because regardless of the side of an eating disorder you're on it is horrible.
I completely agree and understand that point of view. That would be horrible
This feels like a Tipsy Bartender video minus the booze. AND THERE YA HAVE IT
Sheesh so much syrup lmao
had someone order a grande iced coffee with 5 pumps mocha, 5 pumps white mocha which almost filled to the first line. they also wanted almond milk and vanilla sweet cream cold foam. they literally got 1/2 of iced coffee like ma’am ??😭 you’re not getting waking up bc of the caffeine, you’re waking up bc of the sugar
That’s why a lot of Americans have health problems
I mean it's probably more because health care costs so much and people can't afford to go to the doctor but sure, blame starbucks. edit: y'all are right, it's both.
honestly it's both
It's both, but when you add up the bad habits of many Americans coupled with capitalist greed and for-profit healthcare, it's no wonder the system is so fucked here.
They really dont, its just a stereotype. And a really stupid one at that.
I mean, 69% of Americans are classified as overweight / obese. It truly is not a stereotype.
Same 😆In my neighborhood that's the In and Out.
Food banks offer better than all that McDonald's shit
😭😭😭RIP Sam
Although there’s another regular customer who brings his own 5lb bag of sugar to add spoonfuls to his coffee ☕️ the first time I saw it he had it in a ziplock bag and I thought what the…?! And he said, “It’s not cocaine! It’s sugar!” 😂 he is a kind older man and to be fair he drinks straight up black coffee with the added sugar. Not like this other madness.
For Christmas I would have gotten him a teeny little sugar container to carry with him. The whole bag??
Don’t worry it’s ✨Oatmilk✨
The top looks actually like really delicious ice cream i thought we started serving floats for a second lmao maybe a regional thing
If it were me, I’d get these to last a day or 2, pouring over new ice, adding cold brew, (both easier to come by than all that flavoring) basically using as Starbucks flavor concentrate.
It's the oat milk and cow milk whipped cream combo for me 🤢🤢🤢🤢 The caramel has dairy in it too smdh
Had a customer order a venti shaken espresso with 10 pumps of classic, 8 sugars, extra drizzle, extra whip, and made with half n half 😰
It's the half n half for me 🤢
Honestly with all that other extra stuff the amount of half and half was probably minimal 😬
Samantha thought it bussin and bought a second one for a friend 🥴🤢
She only ordered one today 🤣😭
Two days of calories in one drink
do you eat 350 cals ina day?
How many calories would this be?
All of them
This was really funny to me
Yes
If Samantha doesn’t have the ‘betes already, it won’t be long..
Girl go see your dentist
While I wouldn’t drink the over sugary drinks some of our customers order, it would’ve been nice if OP would’ve crossed out their customers name. That’s kinda shitty. Hopefully Samantha doesn’t use Reddit. She’ll likely recognize her drink 🥲
I could never I always made things to sweet as a kid, now anything to sweet makes me sick. Definitely someone who likes a little coffee with sugar.
Maybe they get home and blend it like a milkshake? Idk I like sugar but that seems a bit much.
With a straw
Is anyone else crying because of the pain this job causes us on a daily basis?
I took a screen shot of Samantha’s order. Ima show it to the barista at Starbucks next time I go there and have them fix it for me. Ima give Samantha’s coffee a try. See how it tastes.
You are a brave soul😂😭
What would this cost?
I'm curious too. Over 11 dollars?
8.29 if being rung up regularly and 5.91 if you use the partner discount
Thanks. I can’t imagine if this is the person’s regular order! Sugar aside, that’s a lot of money.
I hate when they get whip and foam it’s annoying
the whipped cream on top of the foam is so cursed
Seems like an ice cream shake at that point.
tastes disgusting but looks like a marble countertop
Holy Insulin to the rescue!!!!
Let’s face it these people are after a sugar rush more then a caffeine boost.
Honestly I don’t think it would be too bad without the classic syrup. I don’t know why they felt that would be necessary
They think they need the caffeine but it’s the sugar that keeps them going 😰
I always say SB is basically just a liquid candy store
You made it look so good though, i'd drink it
Hahaha, thank you 😅 I’m not gonna lie, it’s kinda a fun one to make. Thankfully each time she’s ordered it we’ve been pretty slow.
Used to work there, still a customer. Tbh, I don't know how anyone invests the caramel. Is is just sugar goo.
😂 I used to love caramel fraps until I found out it wasn’t even real caramel and then I was just really grossed out
Exactly. It just tastes like unflavored sugar. There are some good syrups and sauces but, I agree, that one is gross.
People need to read the papers on sugar and cancer growth. Truly scary stuff.
Maybe they just wanted to try something crazy lol. I’m usually a pretty healthy person but I probs get something like this to split w my bf when I rack up 150 stars.
Colace lots of Colace
Disgusting.
Doesn’t really matter if you’re splitting this or it’s the only sugar you’re having for the day. Let people try out goofy combos, sheesh
As someone who drinks their coffee black, how much money are these drinks? Doesn’t SB charge $ per pump?
Nope. Only the initial charge for a single syrup. So adding vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut will cost the same as just adding vanilla. And extra pumps do not cost more.
Thanks for the explanation, when i see these pictures I'm like my god they have like a $13 drink because all of the shots.
LOL - holy crap. I went to Starbucks with my husband after dinner on Saturday night. I thought about getting the pistachio cream cold brew, but inevitably got my typical plain black Americano. Some people don't like they coffee, they like dessert, which is fine but yeah...
Drinks cost 25$ each 🤣
maybe they love sweets ?
😭😭😭RIP
but add the oatmilk because otherwise my tummy might hurt
okay wtf
There’s no way Starbucks is still a coffee shop 😂
With our mouths
Valid, I just know my stomach would hurt so bad after even a couple sips 🥲
Samantha should change her name to Diabeeta. How can you even not get a heart attack after all this?
I got a cavity from just looking at this lol
I just get a Vanilla iced decaf holy shi...
But I seriously doubt that
Samantha's 9 am insulin buster.
I need insulin after reading this
At that point, it’s barely even coffee anymore—just sugar. Order a shake instead 💀
Coffee flavored sugar milk 😭
10 pumps of classic on top of all of that? hell no
I had a guy at drive order a grande misto with 10 pumps caramel, 5 pumps vanilla, 5 pumps toffee nut and extra whip yesterday and that's stuck with me.
This makes my teeth hurt. I might be on the opposite end of the spectrum because I don’t really like artificial sweetness, but I’m a sucker for pumpkin spice. I usually just get 1 or 2 pumps on a venti with extra topping (the spice powder). Any more and i can’t drink it because it’s too sweet.
they don’t drink it.
Home girl ordered another one today, I think she does 😭
that’s nasty. i try to not judge people’s drinks but sometimes it’s hard
No stop I really just quit my everyday trenta strawberry refresher because of the 41 grams of sugar 😮💨
I don’t get it either just go to an ice cream shop or froyo 😭😭
When I make drinks like these for mobile orders, I always think: "Welp, it's your body, your life!"
From the same country that puts ranch wherever we can? 😅
samatha, honey, what are you doing?
Ew
I’d be embarrassed to even pick that up
At 2:00 AM???
Yummy. How could you not drink that?
I’m still amazed they have the disposable income to do so.
We have a regular that gets 14 pumps of classic in a venti iced coffee. Seriously in no way am I judging- I just absolutely would not be able to stand the sweetness. Lol
💀 10 pumps classic???? 💀
