Starfox adventures had a bunch of things for me. It's been a long time so I don't remember everything. But one of them was that a press section where you push your opponent into a hole

Nod_Lucario

It's because of that segment, I am now a devotee to the Church of the Auto-fire Button (or whatever it's called).

Historyguy1

I ran a spoon over the A button during that bit.

Sharpes_Sword

I did a electric shaver lol

underfire451

I had to get my dad to beat that section for me because I was stuck on it for TWO YEARS

cloud_cleaver

Lightfoot Test of Strength. It's coded to rubber-band much the same was as Canary Mary's button mashing races in Banjo Tooie; the key is to pick up a sustainable mash rate that gradually pushes him and then only go full speed right as you get close to winning, because it takes a bit of time for his rubber-banding to ramp up.

SnooKiwis9890

Just replayed that moment a while ago. Actually wasn't as bad as I remembered it.

Joniden

As a kid I could never beat that without a trick or auto fire button. Now in my 30s, I can do it easily.

SluttyMeatSac

Test of strength in Adventures

Mohanad_Alasmri

Nothing compared to Test of fear, which I broke both my hand and the button from constant pressing.

Lazyman310

This, the Test of Fear is my most feared (lol) part of SFA each time I think about replaying it, and I always forget when it's coming up until it is too late

Mohanad_Alasmri

Yeah, sometimes the red strip just goes the other way and never stops on matter how many times you press.

SluttyMeatSac

You know what. All of lightfoot village kind of sucked

Kit_Karamak

Finding you you have to play Command AGAIN to get the other nine endings. Doesn’t make sense with the meme, which is literally about wanting to play the game, but … NINE MORE TIMES WITH A WALK THRU SO YOU CAN MAKE SURE YOU MAKE EVERY APPROPRIATE CHOICE?? Heck.

theguyinyourwall

The first run you're also locked to a certain path, so you won't be seeing EVERY thing multiple times but a vastt majority would be the same levels. Unironically pulled a Shadow the hedgehog

GAME-DROID

Unironically pulled a Shadow the hedgehog That... Is a lot more accurate than it has any right to be lmao. Never played Command myself, but I do own Shadow the Hedgehog and can say basically the same thing (except without having to play all 10 of the available endings to get the final "true ending" lol).

Kit_Karamak

Also, rescuing Tricky on the Jet Bike in Adventures before meeting the Queen Earthwalker the first time.

Chaotic_Hunter_Tiger

Me, decided to get the gold medal in all levels. The team members decide to be useful and blast one of the 6 missiles for me.

[deleted]

Oh holy hell when they blow a missile… that’s like stubbing a toe. Fuck.

Zestyclose-Fee-404

I once did a quick playthrough of the SF64 on my switch while waiting for something at an event. I mentioned to a friend that "this part took me hours of grinding to get the medal" and then I first tried it on accident and my jaw was on the floor. Cruel luck.

BaronBlackFalcon

Aquas.

Megas751

Aquas in 64 and the default route in Command

CrushCrawfish

Yeah gold medal on Sector Z for sure.

AwakenedFur

Pigma. Literally just…Pigma.

cloud_cleaver

Either the Lightfoot Test of Strength, Krazoa Test of Fear, or that dumb 4-colored spinning flame wheel water spout puzzle in the second visit to Ocean Force Point Temple. None of the more traditional games really have that pain point for me.

Narakuno

God I HATED the color flame puzzle. Thinking of it fills me with rage

Vulpgamer

Mission for saving corneria in starfox assault

HellFire-Revenant

For me its gold medal Aparoid city. At least War Comes Home had the wolfen ride

Vulpgamer

Never had a problem with thr apparoid city tho

Demi-Fiend128

The Pigma boss fight in Assault.

BrutalBox

SF64 Aquas and either of the landmaster levels. Basically if I'm not in an Arwing I don't want it.

WhoTookVanAirBrush

I always thought the train level itself was cool but yeah landmaster is a batch to use

BrutalBox

"STEP ON THE GAS!" The level is pretty satisfying when you hit all the switches and make him crash into the base

WhoTookVanAirBrush

The enemy boss dialogue really adds a ton to this game! "I cant STOP IT!!!"

New_Economy_830

"NO! Get away!"

BrutalBox

It really does. Most of them are super iconic to me. I still quote "UNCLE ANDROSSS!!" to this day.

justboston113

Sector Y in 64 since your required to play it in order to do aquas and zones

Historyguy1

Solar.

Black_Rose_0493

“My organs are melting!!!!”

Kit_Karamak

*•points to my organs•* these babies can handle temps up to 9,000 degrees!! But my sustain pedal melted, so … there’s that.

Solid__Snail

Your father would never have done such a thing

Wolf501

The underwater mission in 64

Personal_League1428

Area 6

ToadPlayer64

64: Aquas Assault: Aparoid Homeworld

JoshuaSchaferhund94

Left face: Me playing through Corneria and Meteo/Sector Y in SF64 Right face: Me realizing I have to play Aquas, Katina or Fichina afterwards

Gyramuur

In SF64: Aquas In Adventures: Lightfoot strength test, and also the part where Fox is strapped to a pole and they take turns stabbing him D: In Assault: Probably the final descent into the Aparoid homeworld. I remember it as being particularly difficult.

HogisGuy

Every drone mission in Zero. I like the game but the drones slow everything down to the point where I have actually turned the game off.

Kawan_xros

great commander from star fox 1 unless you're using nova bombs, he's really hard to hit! 😣

SkyHunter95

Test of Fear, StarFox Adventures.

Miltiadis_178GR

Peppy's sacrifice in Assault

Boba_Hutt

Slippy getting his dumbass smacked down and the team having to rescue his ass. That entire mission brings up a hatred I didn’t know I had

ruolbu

SF1 left Corneria - right the framerate SF64 Zones - Aquas Assault Fortuna - Katina Zero Star Wolf in Sector Beta - Gyrowing in Zones

GAME-DROID

The one that sticks out to me the most was Assault's Corneria. God, those radar jammers were such ass to deal with, especially on such a large map. It *kinda* made up for it in the second half of the level, but that doesn't change that the first half sucked lol.

the90snath

Out of This Dinension, Star Fox

RhoadsOfRock

Aquas in Star Fox 64. I loved every single other level in that game. Except for Aquas, that one sucked the most.

stormhawk427

64 Titania/MacBeth/Aquas Assault - Aparoid Homeworld Command - Aquas Zero - Fichina

The_Bagelmeister

Freeing the long neck in Adventures. For the life of me I cannot stand the staff controls.

Discorjien

I generally avoid Sector X, Z and Fortuna in 64 because they aren't nearly as enticing to me. But you're talking to someone whose favorite levels are Aquas, Macbeth and Solar. I have no account of taste. 🤣

rcollipal

The entire SF Command

FoxLoverNo352

That smugger’s outpost in Assault, where you fight Wolf and his crew, the space part outside was fine but GOD the inside of the base was a pain I would like to append my answer, as I have just been reminded of the hellscape that was the Apparoid city

Zytharros

That final Star Wolf fight in SF64 after Area 6. I keep getting straight PERSECUTED by Star Wolf! That said, it was the first time I felt that level of genuine satisfaction beating a video game boss.

Auraveils

Aquas in 64. Slow slow and it kills your finger.

mrplow8

The whole series besides Star Fox 64.

dxthwxsh

For SD64, I actually like Aquas. I wish the Blue Marine got more use. I hated it when I was a kid, but only because it was hard. Felt great beating that shit, though. Area 6 can be annoying, but that's only because I'm a perfectionist and always need that gold medal. Assault: Entire game is gold imo. The lack of checkpoints on on-foot levels for the silver/gold medals is annoying, but I never understood the seething about them. The default controls aren't hard or bad, they just came at a time before every shooter in the world used the exact same controller config. Which is still an option anyway, since can just change the control scheme to the modern version (Mode B) if you want! Zero: The stupid fucking forced motion controls, and dual-use of the gamepad and TV. It's the equivalent of GameFreak forcing people to use the controller all janked to "throw" the pokeball in the Let's Go games (the "GO" mechanic being forced in ruins the game enough). When will these fucking goobers at Nintendo and friends realize that literally nobody wants forced motion controls? At least give people the option. SF2: I played it for 20 mins, sucked ass, almost got nae nae'd by fucking Pigma, couldn't get used to the controls. Still need to give it another shot sometime. I haven't played the original Star Fox SNES or Command... I did rent Adventures a few times as a kid, but I blow ass at puzzley games in general. For me, the thrill of "finally figuring it out" has never outweighed the 17 hours of being stuck on some bullshit puzzle. It was enjoyable as a rental, though, and I still think it's a good game (though not really for me).

WolfKill52

StarFox on the DS. GOD SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!

Jedimobslayer

Meteo and Fichina in 64

Jedimobslayer

I always go hard route then back to easy through Katina in my games.

Angsty-Rat-Guy

When i played Star Fox 64, I always got stuck fighting Star Wolf the second time you fought them. They're so difficult, and it made me realize I was NOT good at this game, lol

gaucho-rider

The last hurrah in SF64, for some reason the whole level gives me a massive headache, don't know why

oniskieth

Test of Fear. Borderline impossible, and if you fail you have to do the dungeon again.

Joniden

Star Fox Command, the whole game.

RoyalAegisVelstadt

Test of Fear from Adventures for sure

A-New-Recipeh

SNES Star Fox Route 2, Sector Y. Screw the boss.

Narakuno

Test of Fear in Adventures. Always have and will hate that part

8MinuteAbs

Any time when I'm not on rails and in an Arwing.

3vilR0ll0

For me it was the second time in the ocean force point temple.

the-graveyard-writer

Burning skies made me cry

DirtSword406

For 64, it's Macbeth. I immediately press reset when I get there.

TheGreaterOzzie

The Corn Area?

StarwarriorMarx

For 64? Sector Z. Hands down.

Sonicboomer1

Test of Fear. Literally had to mute the game. Even when you memorise the entire pattern there is absolutely zero room for a millisecond of imprecision.

Darkfox4100

The Gyrocopter in Zero.

AdAm_WaRc0ck

Me playing mgs1 on bigboss mode during the torture sequence

DracheLehre

The "stealth" section of Cloudrunner Sanctuary in Adventures

Impenetrabler

I‘d go with the cloudrunner ride on dragon rock. The horrible aiming, constant missles and low hp was a real nightmare. I think I gonna start playing that game again soon, I really love it

The-Nsane-N-Gin

Star fox 64 Star wolf hard mode. 🥲

chakatblackstar

Aquas All of Starfox Adventures

Alex_The_Jackalope

God of war Ragnarok with the jotunheim part, it was fun and good story the first time, but after that it becomes a long 1-2 hrs of tedious fetch side quests that you can't skip and can't rush angrboda so yeah the rest of the game is great just that part is so long I get it's for story purposes, but it was so boring...as it was all fetch quests with one boss fight.

Dull_Tumbleweed6353

Star Fox Zero’s mission on Zoness with the Gyrowing. It can take a while.

kioshi_imako

FFX nailing the special move

YeetumsMageetums

the thalmor embacy makes me feel like committing several war crimes in foreign nations.

TheKnight9964

The Sector Z medal in 64
