I love how niche subreddits just kind of converge on really simple ideas like this to the point where further discussion is not even necessary.
I don’t need a standalone a/c unit but I appreciate that y’all have this whole thing figured out.
They all hate the dyson and push a much more expensive miele or bagged vacuum. They don’t understand for some people convenience is the most important thing.
I bought two off brand and refurbished models from a corner car dealer who repaired junk units for fun. $50 each. Been running for years, no issues or maintenance only cleaning.
I have one of the Midea U-shaped, and no idea what the mold issue everyone is taking about is. It's been great. No issues, not quite as quiet as advertised, but otherwise fantastic. Much better than a similarly priced random brand full-through in my office is.
Yeah. Some houses in the northern us don’t have ac built in tho unfortunately, let alone around the world where their construction style can make it hard to do central ac
We have a 12,000 btu portable in the office with dual hose setup that runs all the time when it's on. There are 4 large pc that need help cooling. A midea about a year old in the master and another one we added 2 months ago in the living room.
With texas heat rising and my residential ac unit unable to help keep up in the 70 year old rental with major fondation issues and poor insulation, our electric bill this summer is about $200 less than last year.
If you have a perfect system, then they are not really helpful, but in my "work with what I got" its the best.
I want a Midea U so bad but I can't use it because I live in a garden level unit with small windows. So I'm stuck having to stuff a traditional unit in the existing wall-hole...
IMO, GE Profile ClearView > Midea U because you can actually look out the window once it's closed, and stability doesn't depend on the window or some shitty bracket.

Ask anywhere on Reddit about dishwashers and it’ll boil down to Bosch.
Ask watchescirclejerk and a Seiko 5 is all you need
Head on over to vacuum subreddit / no further discussion is necessary, just read the sticky

Do you even vacuum, bro?
Yea they really suck
I mean I guess it depends if there are any real people in these forums or if they’re just bots or paid shills…?
I wish they'd do one about the best hearing aids for cookie bite hearing loss
I can't tell if the specific models in the pictures have any meaning or not.
Not models, model.
But why male models?
I.... uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Can't tell if I should buy this model or avoid it like the (mold) plague
I would go with the Midea.
I’ve been through 2 in a year. Not the U-shape, just a regular model.

I just got one and it’s great. Not enough time to notice any mold issues tho.
This post brought to you by Midea Midea: Try out our new U unit!
I have one of these, it's really good.
That is an air conditioner
Priapism ac unit
U shaped supremacy 👍
skyrocketing energy bill

Is that shape of ac bad? I've never owned one of that kind
No, it's the best there is.

*laughs in central air* Am I doing that right ?
My mom got one for our house in West Texas. Exact same model. Works very well but it’s new. Now I’m stressed!
