I know this book is well loved, but I can honestly say that out of like 50 King books I've read, this one was my absolute least favorite. It hits on a few things I really don't like reading about, and last time I went into detail on this people started screaming about spoilers.
Well. I started this book twice, and twice I gave up on it.
The third time I started it (I’m persistent lol) I actually did finish it. It gets better. It’s not my favorite SK book, but I ended up really liking it nonetheless
I like it a lot, but I read it quite early on my King journey - if not the first of his I picked up, it wasn't far off. I'm not sure if I'm personally biased but I think it's a good book
I flew through it with ease and joy, though it was in audiobook format and I had a long ass drive ahead of me. Even so, I really liked it apart from the ending (which I rarely like in any book anyways) so here’s another vote for you to power through it!
After I posted this I decided to stop for now and start Insomnia instead. I’m 75 pages in on that and way more interested. I’ll come back to Bag of Bones after I finish Insomnia based on some of the posts here.
Go read something else.
Y'all who post these things are weird as hell. If you bite into your dinner and it tastes bad to you, do you keep eating unless someone assures you that it won't get better?
It's in my King top five. It's a really beautiful story. All the setting pays off with interests.
It gets better. Really.
It's in my top 5 King books.

People are right that it gets better but then it gets bad again (in a different way)
Not in my top 5 or bottom 5. Felt like King decided to channel a little Grisham. Which is bound not to be every King reader's ideal dish.
I don't suppose you have access to the audiobook? .maybe that'd help get you through whatever slump you're feeling
I haven't read it in years, but remember being pleasantly surprised by the end.
Try the talisman or insomnia…
I found the Talisman to be interesting throughout. Now Black House…
It starts off slow. Really enjoyed that one overall, my mystery of the affair, weird shit at the cabin. Stick with it!
I felt the same way 75 pages in. But then it turned into one of my favorite books. Keep going.

it gets better just sit tight
Dont
I wouldn't mind if I had not read this one for the brutality that ensues. However it is a great book imo
It gets excellent and although it's a ghost story has some great horror later in as well

Definitely in my top 5, it does start slow but it gets going as soon as he gets to the TR.
Keep going! It’s a slow burn to start, but probably his most literary work to date.

Weird I was hooked almost immediately. Kings portrayal of grief was expressed vividly

If you're bored now, give up.
I felt the same, I think I gave up after 100 pages just felt so bored with it.
Nope. That was the first King book I hated. So boring.
I'm almost done with it and I think it's amazing. The first 75 pages are just setting the scene. Keep going
