You’d think that, but I visit pretty often since it’s right next to the grocery I go to most often.. the truth is this was a total fluke. They put totally shitty shades behind the glass display, like pairs of glasses I wouldn’t pay 3.99 for. Usually really bad knockoffs, I figure it was an old lady who was just working fast and didn’t even look at them and threw them in the bin. They are in amazing shape considering the fact they were in a plastic bin with people rummaging through everyday.
Yep between living what feels like an ant under a magnifying glass and getting soaked in traffic (I ride a motorcycle for transport) it’s been AWESOME! But nah I am enjoying the summer so far, the evenings have been beautiful over in pinellas, cool and breezy. The start of summer was so dry I was bummed and missing the summer storms. Stay cool out there brother.
Not to rain on the party but based on the pics posted I can't tell if the lenses are marked with the Persol logo. Should be on the left lense when facing the front upper left corner etched in. With the frames marked polarized it should also have a capital P after Persol.
When looking at a screen (phone, computer etc) can you tell they are polarized?
Yeah they are polarized and the lens Is etched you just can’t see it in the photo. Also just noticed the capital P you mentioned after Persol. Genuine article as crazy as it is.
I think, *think* they’re trying to say that the combination of heavy glass lenses and the width of the frames will cause these to slide off your face.
But who fuckin knows, I doubt they’ll come back to clarify because it appears they were suffering a stroke whilst writing that comment.
I mean sure, but why does anything cost anything? Look at trading cards, instruments, porcelain collectibles, stamps, the list goes on. Things cost what someone is willing to pay for them.
Yep, but the price is also high because of their Crystal (glass) lenses. They are ground to optical precision and have some of the best tinting on the market. I once watched a video of them making the frames. It takes a ton of manual steps & polishing to make them. Anyway, great score, enjoy!!
My basic understanding those cards, stamps, etc, are driven by rarity and collector demand. I'm not familiar with the eyesglasses though-so I'm guessing that's those things that apply to baseball cards, stamps, etc, are the things that drive retail price of $400? Interesting
Thank you you put it much better than I did and more concisely too. I questioned whether I should even respond to a question like that but they got me lol.
Great find. Now police up that mustache young fella.
I just let the wind style it.
Solid!
I’d be going there more often if I was you

I’ll buy them off you for $2. You can get a 100% return! lol jk. Nice find
Wow - tremendous find! 👏 ❤️
I actually do this on a daily basis. I resell old and rare frames on ebay. I make more money on frames than anything else.
Oh you’re the reason the thrift stores are completely picked through.
🔥
Great find!
Nice.... Keep the glasses...
this is what makes thrifting fun
"Don't mind my work clothes" Blimey, where do you work, in a Tron movie or something 😂
I’m An electrician. I do construction, that’s a weird take.
It was the combo of dark top, and glowing yellow snood
Not my style, but you be you.

Nice find. But I question why a piece of plastic is $400.

Same as any other fashion market. Steve McQueen just happened to make Persol a huge deal.
Because the factory in Italy can pour the mold and mix the acetate into nice colors and patterns about $400 better than you can

To add to the other comment, the lenses are actually made of crystal and not cheap plastic! Best lenses I have ever looked through.
