You know I agree with this, and I am anti conspiracy theory, but that first half was simply outrageous. And the past two games too it has happenned so many times. And you could see at the end in Cenk's goal how all 5-6 players were all out to be the one scoring the goal, instead of being about the team scoring a goal. I don't know what it is, but there is something causing players to not pass and play they way they should, whether it's being more familiar with certain players, friendships and chemistry between certain players affecting them (intentionally or untentionnally) to play towards certains players or certains areas more, maybe because players are playing to cover their ass and not wanting to be the one to make a mistake (hence not taking initiatives), maybe motivated by individualism, idk. Idk what it is, but those runs of BAY during the first half and the way he was not being fed something was inorganic there and really bothered me.

it doesn't have to do with anything with positioning. I can say to you with 100% certainty that either BAY complained BIG TIME or Montella warned them during the half time break in the locked room that they were not passing the ball to him and were wasting so many opportunities.

He was playing center most of the time in first half if you look at his position he swapped a few times to wing then 90% sat in the box center. It's the coach's fault for putting him there. First goal and all the big goal chances minus the Cenk goal was all created by Baris.
No, that's not true. Even in the second half he was alterning a lot between the center and right wing. In fact, in the second after the first 10 minutes of the first half he spent most of his time on the right wing.

I can’t really understand the Kenan hype. For sure he has potential but he is not as ready as Arda to play right now. Started 2 games and was subbed in 1. He dribbles and shoots pointlessly.
Also I think it is risky to start a player returning from an injury. ICK kind of winger won’t suit the Euros imo. Even Spain plays with wingers who can run.

The game was weird as fuck. I actually wanted us to play without a striker, but Montella played with 3 forwards instead. Bot sure what he was thinking separating the blocks this much but we all saw how ineffective we were.
First off Arda; he wasn’t the worst if you maybe compare him to a run of the mill midfielder. But we all know how he can play and that was a disasterclass today. He didn’t look dangerous or contribute meaningfully. He missed BAY a lot of the time and tried weird shit. Unthinkable the pressure finally got to him. Hope he clears his head and plays the game.
Kenan; tried desperately to rove himself instead of playing for the team. Montella needs to explain what’s going on in that camp because it sure isn’t “vibes” and all.

And I had foreseen that, and wrote that in the match thread : it is evident that there was a discussion about that in the dressing room during half time that the team needs to play to BAY.
BAY was playing the same way in the first half too, and for the life of me, for a team that's supposed to have so many high football IQ players, to have everyone miss those clear runs of BAY is beyond explanation to me.
BAY and Arda : I don't know what it is, but there is clearly zero chemistry between Arda and BAY. ZERO. They play bad together. If negative chemistry was a thing (and maybe it is), I'd say they have negative chemistry.
Cenk : just because he happenned to score a goal at 90+6, I hope this will not cover how we had been playing. Cenk is HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. The way he killed that one position with someone overlapping on his right was unacceptable. And just because he scored that goal, does not erase 25M of performance he displayed on the pitch.
And in that last goal position, I hope people realized the problem of this team, you know, when everyone is out to be the one to score the goal, which almost led to that occasion to be failed (like numerous ones before). And why Cenk behaved the way he did in that position of the player overlapping on his right.
And I don't know man, after that first half, the number of OBVIOUS times BAY made runs behind the line, I genuinely am starting to believe that some players, whether it's intentional or unintentional, do not pass the ball to some players, or tend to favorize passing the ball to certain ones.
BTW, I hope people realize that BAY played well not just because he was on the RW mainly, because he was also there in the first half too, but also because he was starting to be given the ball. And that's the same thing that happenned the whole Portugal game, it's not that he's bad, he's not being met with the people and his runs are not being capitalized.

We were good in moments but what worries me is how we lose concentration after we score. Happened a lot in qualification and twice in the euros now, we have to be more composed when defending a lead.
Kenan is good alone. Ferdi is as we know. But there was no build up at all between the two. Ferdi needs someone to pass, get back and create variations together. For big teams we need that. Kerem-Ferdi was better in that sense.
Baris was good, but after Chechia energy gauge hit zero he showed the most. Lets not forget they were 10 people in the second half. He also needs a connection and play with a forward thinking fellow.
I saw like Arda was put to the center and Hakan was going forward in the first half. That was too much to give to a young one. We shouldn't expect guaranteed magic from players who did not become their best yet . If it comes, we celebrate happily. Arda should be left in front and freed a bit.
I felt like nobody knew what to do in the front. No clear tactical variations, no choreography. We couldn't have a one on one with keeper when Chech weren't even able to walk in last minutes. Montella studied only how to turn the ball around. But this is a new team. Some forced choreography needed to reach the goal. But feels like we will see that from Austria better in next game.

It's about looking at things holistically. Let a player ruin countless plays, as long as he scores one goal, is not how a team is built and is not effective football. Cenk having scored a goal at 90+6 when the Czechs had given up does not erase the past 25 minutes of performance he displayed on the pitch.

What happens when you put a RW at a RW and a ST at ST (as much as I dont rate him currently). Kenan might be talented and might score a hattrick next game. But currently he attempts too many dribbles and shots. Looks like Arda was actually injured. Didn’t look like himself today. Probably held himself back. Also needs to quit shooting from 35m. Hakan was invisible despite the goal. Salih was invisible. We need more Ismail and Ferdi and Bariss. Players with tempo and stamina. Mert is a fresh breath after Zeki. But we all know how he can play and that was a disasterclass today. He didn’t look dangerous or contribute meaningfully. He missed BAY a lot of the time and tried weird shit. Unthinkable the pressure finally got to him. Hope he clears his head and plays the game. Kenan; tried desperately to rove himself instead of playing for the team. Montella needs to explain what’s going on in that camp because it sure isn’t “vibes” and all. BAY; Had a good game, not his best but still effective. He's the striker. He played 15 min and scored. What else do you expect him to do? He did 2-3 runs which were missed by the midfielders too, because they aren't used to playing with actual strikers.
I hope turkish fans are smarter than to make a player ''great'' that has been and is shit, just because he scored a goal. BAY. He made at least 10 great runs behind the defensive line in the first half and was not being fed and was so frustrating that he was starting to disconnect from the game. And I had foreseen that, and wrote that in the match thread : it is evident that there was a discussion about that in the dressing room during half time that the team needs to play to BAY. BAY was playing the same way in the first half too, and for the life of me, for a team that's supposed to have so many high football IQ players, to have everyone miss those clear runs of BAY is beyond explanation to me. BAY and Arda : I don't know what it is, but there is clearly zero chemistry between Arda and BAY. ZERO. They play bad together. If negative chemistry was a thing (and maybe it is), I'd say they have negative chemistry. Cenk : just because he happenned to score a goal at 90+6, I hope this will not cover how we had been playing. Cenk is HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. The way he killed that one position with someone overlapping on his right was unacceptable. And just because he scored that goal, does not erase 25M of performance he displayed on the pitch. And in that last goal position, I hope people realized the problem of this team, you know, when everyone is out to be the one to score the goal, which almost led to that occasion to be failed (like numerous ones before). And why Cenk behaved the way he did in that position of the player overlapping on his right. And I don't know man, after that first half, the number of OBVIOUS times BAY made runs behind the line, I genuinely am starting to believe that some players, whether it's intentional or unintentional, do not pass the ball to some players, or tend to favorize passing the ball to certain ones. BTW, I hope people realize that BAY played well not just because he was on the RW mainly, because he was also there in the first half too, but also because he was starting to be given the ball. And that's the same thing that happenned the whole Portugal game, it's not that he's bad, he's not being met with the people and his runs are not being capitalized.

It’s ridiculous to me that Arda tries a shot from halfway line every game.
We were good in moments but what worries me is how we lose concentration after we score. Happened a lot in qualification and twice in the euros now, we have to be more composed when defending a lead.
Kenan is good alone. Ferdi is as we know. But there was no build up at all between the two. Ferdi needs someone to pass, get back and create variations together. For big teams we need that. Kerem-Ferdi was better in that sense. Baris was good, but after Chechia energy gauge hit zero he showed the most. Lets not forget they were 10 people in the second half. He also needs a connection and play with a forward thinking fellow. I saw like Arda was put to the center and Hakan was going forward in the first half. That was too much to give to a young one. We shouldn't expect guaranteed magic from players who did not become their best yet . If it comes, we celebrate happily. Arda should be left in front and freed a bit. I felt like nobody knew what to do in the front. No clear tactical variations, no choreography. We couldn't have a one on one with keeper when Chech weren't even able to walk in last minutes. Montella studied only how to turn the ball around. But this is a new team. Some forced choreography needed to reach the goal. But feels like we will see that from Austria better in next game. Its low probability to me, but a tournament is where surprise can happen. Austria is very good, but in the end not too higher skill team. We can really try. Good luck, what we need i guess.
