With all that foam its just gonna sound like any other switch in a foamed board.

Bxndxgeknives

I'll most likely do a test a in 1.6 less foamy pcb but to be honest I like my tactiles in foamy boards

Boohoo foam hater

GoldflakeTheGoldWing

I didn’t say anything bad about foam. I just said it makes switches sound the same. You think that's a bad thing.

I think it's cool and I'm interested to see what they sound like and get your insight on the feel. I'm actually not a huge fan of either switch but think they're both good examples of their switch type. That said, tactile gat yellows...the ONLY thing I might do is add a stiffer spring and it would remind me of a JWK tactile! Keep me posted...foam or not! Not everyone prefers hmx on a steel plate 😉🤣

Bxndxgeknives

but I didn't think I'd be a big fan of a light tactile but I really enjoy these very similar to rootbeer floats

stillthatguy_jake

I'm glad you liked them! I'm kind of stoked on the idea altogether as I wasn't the biggest fan of the beer switches as they were. They lasted a day in my board before I tried something new.

Bxndxgeknives

hey I just posted a video of them!

ItABoye

I ordered a sample set of beers, and I have a spare set of milky yellows, I might actually try this

Bxndxgeknives

I just posted a sound test. I love them

ItABoye

Where can I find it?

Bxndxgeknives

sorry I had issues loading earlier it's there now

No need for a sound test. They aren’t a proper reproduction without a baseline to compare to. If you like the sound, then that’s all that matters. This is an interesting franken choice, imo. Rather than a sound test, a comparison would be better. Normal Beer and then the franken (or Gat yellow milky). At least that way it would be a plausible experiment.

Bxndxgeknives

I can't argue that would be helpful for others sake but I perfer this sound and hopefully other do and can try them out if like what they hear. because in the same spirit it would be best for the person interested to do it them selves to get the truest sound comparison I just record on my phone for fun. regardless sound tests are not the best way to understand how a switch sounds due to the millions of diffrent variables.
