What is anyone meant to do with this question? What is your budget, how many rooms do you need? What do you do for fun?

VeezusM

90km is a lot of travel still

Effective_Mistake84

It is

kazosk

Why 90km? Pure curiosity.

Effective_Mistake84

It’s my maximum acceptable travel time to and from work

TinyCucumber3080

You didn't provide the most important information....your budget.

Effective_Mistake84

I’ve edited, apologies

I’ve edited my post, but am looking at $650 max per week

Northmead, Winston Hills and Baulkham Hills are lovely leafy family friendly areas

syddyke

But getting expensive

BarryCheckTheFuseBox

Some of the new suburbs popping up around Camden, like Spring Farm, might be up your alley

Artichoke_Persephone

Public schools are NOT good in that area.

Funny-Bear

North Shore Sydney. Large blocks, wide leafy quiet streets, lots of parks and bushland, cafes, great schools (public and private). Think Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, Turramurra

WestOfAnfield

North shore is pretty expensive. Might be worth exploring French’s Forest too with a budget of $650

syddyke

Glenmore Park, south of Penrith. So close to M4 it's easy to get anywhere.

90km? You could try the blue mountains. Leafy, community, and still on the metropolitan/city train lines.

I would say try the Hills District (Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Winston Hills, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill etc.) - the apartment stock for 2 and 3 bedder apartments has also risen in these areas which would fit the budget - great schools, parks and ammenties - bonus is the city section of the metro opens in the next couple of months linking many parts of the North West directly to the CBD.

Flying-Fox

Corner of Marrickville near Dulwich Hill Station - plethora of parks, community garden, can hear the primary school bell, cycle path, golf course, river; lovely part of the world. My friend lives in [this block ](https://hurlstone-park.randw.com.au/residential-for-lease/5-38c-ewart-street-marrickville-0000483173.html?) - looks ugly on the outside but the people and surroundings are great. Nine parks for children are in walking distance so my friend reckons.

cricketmad14

Blacktown has good schools. Family friendly with lots of green spaces. Very safe as well. Quick train ride to city too.

SqareBear

+1. Has a hospital, major shops, bus tway access and is only 30km to city.

amyeh

Yep, feels like there’s a park on every block. Plus there’s tons of indoor activities when it rains, like play centres, bowling, trampolining, arcades, movies etc. Lots of bigger parks too for things like bike rides, plus the zoo and Featherdale.

iguanawarrior

90 km... Blue Mountains and Central Coast are affordable.

sheeba39

Try upper north shore. two train lines to get you into the city. as for school public, selective and private schools. The only problem might be the cost. I live in Thornleigh and most houses around here are 1.8 million plus, and the prices are still rising. Sydney is becoming so expensive to buy it is nuts. I have a big house near a school train station yes I would get close or over 2million but then I have to buy somewhere else which could be more.

Red-Engineer

90km from the CBD is not in Sydney.

Artichoke_Persephone

Inner west for schools. Croydon is particularly beautiful- plus Burwood girls is one of the best public schools in the state. Public transport is also brilliant. You would have to have apartment living though. Ashfield is also nice.

carolethechiropodist

Take a train to Woywoy, and a bus to Umina 70 mins on train North, great beaches, very family friendly, $650 will get you a mansion. $550 a 3 bed villa with Garden.
