This looks great, love the art style for the board

ErikReichenbach

Thank you!

rimbletick

It looks great. When you have the packaging worked out you should send samples to stores in Sleepy Hollow NY. In the fall, it is a big tourist spot with plenty of gift stores desperate for Headless Horseman merch: "Heads will Roll"

ErikReichenbach

Sounds like a plan! I’ll create a sell sheet at the very least

boxingthegame

Genius

carnivorousflowers

Love the presentation here! This looks beautiful and striking and would stand out next to other games. How does the gameplay work without player role special abilities?

malabella

The art style fits perfectly with the theme! Really can't wait to see how this plays as a big fan of spooky themed games.

drymantini

Really like the design and theme. If you want someone to look over the rules, let me know. I'm a copy editor.

ErikReichenbach

That would be great actually. Thank you!

Spruce-Studios

The artwork is so stylised! I love it! Any reason why the dice are all different, btw?

ErikReichenbach

No reason. I had them laying around! One is actually made of Play-Doh and another was a blank dice I decided to draw on with sharpie. Very high-quality materials, I know!

Aliveinlights86

I think I've messaged you before but wow this game looks dope! The artwork and aesthetic is perfect imo. Do you have a playable version on TTS?

ErikReichenbach

No I’ve been making it through the Game Crafter and will likely sell there.

Mr17Frost

Looks wonderful!

ErikReichenbach

Thank you!

Patient_Ride_9122

Would be super interested in play testing this game. Any chance there will be a virtual (TTS) version available?

ErikReichenbach

I have a Tabletopia account and can look at adding it there. These good comments are killing me, just because of how slow I work on things 😭😑 I’ll look at adding it later this summer.

Wolfgang_Forrest

Looks very interesting and very cool. Although I worry for players who get murdered, are they eliminated completely

tomtermite

How about, "You are murdered. Now you are a ghost... [some other actions available]" Nobody likes to sit around a board game and watch others have fun!

ErikReichenbach

If you play with less than eight players, there are always eight pieces on the board, snd they act as NPC’s. If you are murdered, and there’s an NPC available, you reincarnate as that character and draw two items.

level27geek

It looks stellar! The only issue I have is the location labels. The text is just a little too big for the boxes and ends up "kissing" the edge of the box which makes it look a little amateurish. Making the font just a tiny bit smaller (or the boxes a bit bigger) would solve this issue. Also, looking the the labels again it seems the letter spacing is a bit loose. You might be able fix the kissing issue simply by fixing the spacing (although you'd need to experiment to see). I should stop looking at the components (but they are so nice!) the Rumors and Stories labels on the card backs also feel a little cramped. Give them a bit more space on the sides (and for all card backs a bit more space from the top edge too!).

boxingthegame

Very impressive yum yum yum fun how’s it compare mechanically to other social deduction???

DukeOfWarts

This looks wonderful! Great job on the art. My only nitpick would be to italicize the flavor text on cards so it is visually distinct from game mechanics.

ErikReichenbach

Why would you do that in this context? The flavor is less than two sentences in most cases. I heard this in another channel with respect to a rule sheet that is one page long (single sided) and has two to three lines of “flavor”. Are publishers or players so injured by having to read for an additional 5-10 seconds? I do not understand the issue. I would understand a paragraph of flavor or non-rules added to a rule page. 1-2 sentences? I don’t think that’s asking too much.

DukeOfWarts

It is good principle to delineate features of a game for better rules comprehension, i.e. flavor and game rules. Players could be “injured”, as you said, in the sense that it grays the line between concrete rules and flavor where they could misinterpret a card’s purpose, among other things. It could definitely be a stylized choice. So long as the game isn’t overbearing in its use of this, it shouldn’t impose much on gameplay. More importantly, what have your playtesters said, and how many people have playtested the game?

ErikReichenbach

Zero playtesters, so we will find out!
