They are the cutest little things. I love their little voices and how sweet they all are. They don't even ask for help to get to their friend as they say they'll catch up later (no they won't, but bless their little plant heart).
In a forest of whispering leaves and moss,
Lived a Korok, young and at a loss.
Amongst leafy canopies and roots so deep,
His little friend Korok he couldn't keep.
The forest was vast, the trees stood tall,
Korok was small, could barely crawl.
His wooden face creased with a frown,
His friend was lost, nowhere to be found.
When out of the blue, came a man so brave,
Eyes filled with kindness, ready to save.
It was Link, the hero of time,
With a heart so pure, it felt like a rhyme.
His tunic as blue as the cerulean sky,
He looked at the Korok, hearing its cry.
With a promise to help, he held out his hand,
Ready to search across all of Hyrule's land.
Through shrines and towers, mountains and sea,
In the search for Korok, they both agree.
A quest of friendship, a story untold,
A mission of heart, a courage so bold.
Through thorny trails, they climbed and crept,
Across gurgling brooks, they hopped and leapt.
Korok's spirit felt lighter than before,
With Link by his side, it could soar.
Under the shadow of a tree so grand,
They found the lost Korok, leaf mask in hand.
Tears of joy, two friends unite,
Under the twinkling stars, a heartwarming sight.
Link, the hero, made their dreams true,
Reunited the Koroks, under the sky so blue.
And the Koroks danced, their leaves a-whirl,
A tale of friendship in Zelda's world.
In every heart, they left a song,
About a friendship, brave and strong.
Link and Koroks, under the moon's gleam,
In the land of Hyrule, a sweet little dream.
Whenever I go to the Deku Tree I always buy out all the shops (even the apples and hylian shrooms) because those precious babies gathered those resources in the hopes of helping just a little.
Honestly I'm amazed that even though there are literally hundreds of these guys throughout Botw and totk, and even though I find a couple every session I play, I'm still not tired of them or the noise they make. They did some incredible game design with the koroks for sure, the most natural feeling casual collectible in any game I've played.
NGL, when my older kid told me some kids at his school are torturing Koroks, I immediately put their names on my mental list of "no playdates at that kid's house"
Aww, thanks!! I've actually really bonded with my older kid over this game. I watch him play all the time, and I'm always nagging him to collect supplies and cook meals for later 😆
That’s so sweet! I’m glad you can enjoy it together, I miss playing games with my dad (he’s still alive we just live far apart now) Cherish this ❤️
Good, he’ll be thankful he has those meals later XDD
The dislike of the Korok isn't because of something specific to them. When people were playing Breath of the Wild they kept being disappointed when they stumbled on something that seemed new only to find that it was another Korok. The fact that if you wanted 100% you needed 900 of them didn't help on top of that
Ocarina of Time Link was adopted by the Deku tree and raised by the Kokiri, who are the ancestors of the koroks. I believe that's the reason he can see them when most other people can't.
Wait, is it canon that only Link can see the dragons? So what's going on when he's riding one? People look up and just see him floating along in the sky?
"Well, that's the least insane thing he's done this week, I guess."
Yeah, only those pure of heart(mostly children) can see the dragons. This is kinda contradicted in the BotW DLC tbf where Kass and a few Rito are able to see Dinraal.
I don't think it's *only* Link, but it is strongly implied in BOTW that most people cannot see the spirit dragons. The exceptions seem to be children and those blessed by the gods.
The Kokori are Hylians that wanted to get more in touch with nature so they moved to the forest where they were then protected by the great deity Deku Tree.
It wasn't until the great flood in Wind Waker that turned into the Koroks by the Deku Tree to allow them to keep surviving.
The Kokori are visible but just cannot age while Koroks are the ones given the ability to only be seen by those of pure heart.
I totally forgot that the Koroks only showed up in WW. and I should have remembered that - it's my favorite Zelda game and Forest Haven was my favorite island!
I'm not sure about your Kokiri origin there, but they're only visible when they choose to be. The ones in the forest are invisible until you get close (definitely not a draw distance thing like I thought as a kid), and when you leave the forest, Saria makes herself visible *after* Link passes by her on the bridge.
Koroks and I do not get along.
I will never forget the night they raided my home. My wife just recently passed and all I had left was the puppy she surprised me with.
The night they raided my home, they knocked me unconscious and murdered my dog right in front of me.
People keep asking me if I’m back. I haven’t really had an answer. But now, yeah, I’m thinking I’m back!
I don't like them because they look like when some other media are portraying some imaginary creatures that the mentally sick see and so are almost scary.
Another offender in this category is Cuphead the game.
I love the way they changed in tears of the kingdom, the ones outside in the world are annoying but the ones in the forest are perfect now. The great deku tree should have had stomach problems forever ago.
I find all the Korok torture content sort of disturbing. I know they're not real and people can play however they want to, but I don't know why people find it so entertaining and I wish it was easier to filter it all out of my feeds 😔
When I got to the korok forest I was broke, but still gave the little dude who sold mushrooms all of my remaining money. Then the other dude gave me a bed for free and said I can come chill whenever I want 😭
You are not alone . When you bring a Korok to their friend, the little "yahi!" sound they make to say "You are here!" is the cutest sound in the world and always gives me a massive serotonin rush.

This is really sweet
Excellent
I hate how when I see a poem like this I have no idea whether it's AI or not. If not; *amazing* job! If it is; shame on you for not disclosing it!
Completely agreed, I adore the Koroks and all that they do (whether they succeed or not, lol)
And the other ones are just playing hide and seek! So cute.
Yup!
The ones who pop up and aggressively sing with Hestu when you trade in the seeds are one of my favorite things
Always get me laughing
It occurs to me that that could be a reference to Age of Calamity, of all things.
I thought that too! Loved AoC, even Hestu with his wacky attacks because they were both ridiculous and included his lil’ Korok buddies 🤣
The best part about Hestu in AoC is when he gets an upgrade, his voice actor sometimes says "Da-na-na-na-nahhh!"
Only cut scene I never skip.
Whenever I go to the Deku Tree I always buy out all the shops (even the apples and hylian shrooms) because those precious babies gathered those resources in the hopes of helping just a little.
I only sleep at the Korok Inn in BOTW because the sweetheart just wants me to be well rested and wants to help.
Then they charge you.
Those metal box puzzles don't pay for themselves
That's how they getcha

Koroks are the sweetest things on earth and i can’t believe how many people torture them. They have literally done nothing wrong
I know, I don't get it. all they want is to get to their friend 😞 they don't demand your help and they reward you for your kindness.
NGL, when my older kid told me some kids at his school are torturing Koroks, I immediately put their names on my mental list of "no playdates at that kid's house"
You’re a good parent in my book have a star ⭐️

Nothing wrong? Every time you help one they shit in your hand.
Wait… people don’t like Koroks?
did you miss the flaming crosses? and the space program?
.... I mean who doesn't want to explore space?
I'm not sure if those Koroks consented to participating in the space program.
Content is a barrier to progress.
Ah, thinking like a true scientist. I love it.
I was inspired by my time as a test subject in Aperature Laboratories.
Oh, so that explains it.
living up to your name, i see...
As is only natural. Glory to Master Kohga.
Sorry, consent.
i like koroks and i think those are funny still
I thought it was just silly goofy guys havin a good ole time

My headcanon is that if Zelda's ancestors are the Zoni, Link's ancestors are the koroks.
Ocarina of Time Link was adopted by the Deku tree and raised by the Kokiri, who are the ancestors of the koroks. I believe that's the reason he can see them when most other people can't.
I think it's more that Link, like all Links, is a whimsical dork. Same reason he can see the dragons.
Well, Kass is a pure cinnamon bun, to be fair.
True
I don't think it's *only* Link, but it is strongly implied in BOTW that most people cannot see the spirit dragons. The exceptions seem to be children and those blessed by the gods.

Ya there some holes in how I said it your definitely a lot more right than I was.
A true korok ally
They are cute, I like the sad “iyaaaah…” sound they make.
Ok but which korok mask is the best? I personally love the long skinny leaf one thats almost as big as them
Peeks been my boy since botw lol
I love the sound they make when you drop the rock on their head after finding them! Next time you find one under a rock just hit B, so worth it!
I dont mind them, but I do kinda wish they were treated as characters instead of collectables. I miss Makar from wind waker. At least we got hetsu
I like the koroks and I enjoy playing hide and seek with them
I would attend a tea party of Eewoks and Koroks and anyone inclined to make fun is univinted because I love them both.
I don’t think people hate koroks. I think the hate comes from having to find hundreds of them.
Ya ha ha
You found me!
Wait your not hestu
how much did they pay you
They're cute, but i don't blame people for their war crimes against them because of the disrespect that is the reward for finding all of them...
Koroks and I do not get along. I will never forget the night they raided my home. My wife just recently passed and all I had left was the puppy she surprised me with. But now, yeah, I’m thinking I’m back!
Why did they raid your home? Did you do something to them?
They wanted to buy his hoverbike, but he said no.
Well that's rude of them. Why did they have to kill the dog?
I like that you can still drop rocks on their heads.
I don't like them because they look like when some other media are portraying some imaginary creatures that the mentally sick see and so are almost scary. Another offender in this category is Cuphead the game.
The koroks deserve the world.
I love the way they changed in tears of the kingdom, the ones outside in the world are annoying but the ones in the forest are perfect now. The great deku tree should have had stomach problems forever ago.
I took a photo of a Korok and >!displayed him in my house!<. Nice thing to see as Link is falling asleep.
I find all the Korok torture content sort of disturbing. I know they're not real and people can play however they want to, but I don't know why people find it so entertaining and I wish it was easier to filter it all out of my feeds 😔
Wind Waker was my first LoZ game. Theyre special to me too.
The little yahaha makes me love them
Fuck their lil buddies tho
When I got to the korok forest I was broke, but still gave the little dude who sold mushrooms all of my remaining money. Then the other dude gave me a bed for free and said I can come chill whenever I want 😭
When I play, I always say 'yahaha!' back to them. They're such lil sweeties.
You are not alone . When you bring a Korok to their friend, the little "yahi!" sound they make to say "You are here!" is the cutest sound in the world and always gives me a massive serotonin rush.
i love their goofy looking leaf faces
I really dislike all the Korok abuse memes and helpin a Korok find their friend always, always, always brings a smile to my face.
