Pivern

Yeah its too slow and big, only use it to get bullet time in flat ground or for mining zonite, though its a pretty good companion if you give it a frost emitter or two

screenwatch3441

Warning about putting frost emitter (and shock emitter), she CAN hit you. It’s especially noticeable during boss fights when the boss is vulnerable and everyone is beating on the boss and I would randomly get frozen or shock and dropped my weapons.

IlikeHutaosHat

She froze me and then I got hit by a white Bosskoblin. It's a miracle the cannons I give her never hit me

slickvic706

And the damn cannon :(

Right_Cricket_4096

Man I chopped down an entire forest and piled it in my truck just for it all to get blown up when she took notice of a red bokoboy

[deleted]

It really sucked honestly. Once I got hit for half my health I immediately hopped off and didn’t ride her again until we got to the temple.

kannakantplay

Yeah I just hopped off and snuck around by myself for that. Fighting another construct was one thing, but other monsters aren't worth it. She is useful for trekking right through gloom filled land, though!

SirCatharine

Yup, me too. After spending 10 minutes fighting one silver bokoblin, I did the same.

Doctor_moose02

i thought she’d have given a protection buff or tanked the first hit from an enemy or something.

insipidgoose

I feel more powerful outside of it than in it.

newthrowgoesaway

Bcus u are.

Dorko69

The damage is just lackluster for the stage of the game you get her, and the lack of damage reduction while atop her makes it both offensively and defensively worse than taking enemies on while on foot

schmoolecka

Here is the lazy coward way (no shade, I always have fun trying to cheese things): you don’t have to pilot her all the way to the temple. If you just go on foot and avoid the enemies along the way she’ll just follow you.

cheat-master30

If you have the relevant Lightroot, you can also teleport straight next to the Spirit Temple. She'll appear when you're at your destination, like the other sage avatars.

ShmebulockForMayor

Well fuck, I'd put a teleport right at the temple entrance since I figured it'd be important later, then I thought I had to go on foot anyway when I got to that stage so I didn't use the teleport. Would have saved me that hassle.

SirCatharine

This…is kind of frustrating to know. I have all the lightroots, I would’ve just skipped over everything.

jath-ibaye

Yes. The boss fight of her temple was the worst, IMO. She's too big and slow and clunky. I have her turned off most of the time (unless i need to walk over some gloom). Also, since, she is not 'spirit looking' like all the other sages, I often get scared when she sneaks ups on me and think her a enemy

Emergency_Addition67

Was the fight really that bad? I had a great time using a Frost canon with L and a spike ball with R, literally the boss couldn't do anything to me.

jath-ibaye

well, once i got the hang of controlling her it was ok? but i died like 5 times before that happened

Hot-Explanation6044

Yep it was very underwhelming And idk there's something that doesnt click with zonai combat devices ? You will have 2 cannons on a moblin and it wil take 1/10 of his health it's nonsense. I feel they preferred to overnerf zonai tech rather than rethink combat/damage

fatplayer13

I only use it to mine because I don't want to carry around 3 stone hammers all the time or wait for Yunobu to recharge

Dogtooth_Violet

Also, I use her to mine when I don’t want the gemstones to go flying every which way like they do when I use Yunobo.

Winter-Reputation-23

Sidon and Riju can both be used to mine as well, just fyi

fatplayer13

Sidon too?! Damn I knew about Riju but getting more excuses to talk to my husband are always welcome

cheat-master30

Yeah I'm not a fan of it either. It's useful for crossing Gloom, and duping items in earlier versions of the game, but its combat capabilities seem limited compared to either more traditional weapons or your own Zonai contraptions. The attacks are both weaker and slower than your normal weapons.

ChezMere

Crosses lots of other things too (one of the loading tells you about this when it says that lava is surprisingly shallow)

ShockedHearts

Most of the sages abilities and overall implementation was badly done in general sadly. Besides a few missed opportunities that are more nitpicks than anything This is also my only and biggest complaint

meatboysawakening

Yeah I have to agree. It's not intuitive as I constantly forget I have their abilities to use, and it's not convenient to use them since the sages are always running around in circles trying to get out of each other's way. They could have kept the activation from botw and still had the sages be "allies" that help out with combat.

ShockedHearts

Have them only.leave the rings in combat and have the natural activations. Tulin could stay the way he is Riju could have a toggle when using your bow (Y) or something. Yunobo could be the same when going to throw your weapon toggle him to shoot. Sidon could be toggled on shield these could all be out under (Y) as a toggle with other functions While having them only.leave the rings for physical combat situations.

Keirabella999

It's the only one I don't have active all the time. It's kind of let down

KeyAcid

Yeeeees, the spirit temple boss was so annoying since I was forced to used the mech

Dry_Championship222

I agree it is more useful for travel in the depths than battle

Quick-Audience7860

Her shield is actually useful but not any better than parrying on foot. a way she would have at least felt "cool" was dual or triple wielding. Even if I could shoot two cannons at once I might prefer on foot

PepsiPerfect

It's a fun distraction every now and then but ultimately pretty useless. I use it occasionally to walk over gloom, but that's about it.

mr_ushu

No way, it is a bigger target that is also slow moving. Imo you are better off letting it run around by itself as a distraction, specially against crowds. If you like emitters as crowd control just attach to shield to have the same effect.

Oaker_Jelly

Emitters last signifcantly longer on the construct and have a greater ability to aim.

Wonderful-Mission908

I do not like it, except when I'm in the depths. I cannot fight with it. I kept hitting "B" to move faster and not knowing why I'm not moving. I look and I realize I'm sitting on its shoulder. It's easier to fight on my own. It is great for ore deposits.

Richizzle439

Link is much stronger than any of the zonai devices on his own, that being said, it can be fun to tinker with the construct and other builds to see what you can do, besides all of them make a better ally than yunobo so I’ll use them occasionally.

Spiritual_Event9134

The problem is that it barely does damage, so there’s no point in really using it

throwaway147025836

i dont really use her to fight with but i do put a zonai fan on her back and run through the depths, great for getting places faster and not having to worry about gloom on the ground

menofthesea

I keep her dismissed to reduce visual clutter. Only bring her out to walk over gloom. Damage is very underwhelming for how late in the game you get her, I tried a few different combos of fuses and she kept damaging me.

Magiclily2020

We were supposed to do the other regional phenomena first?

LumpySkull

Uhhh.... whoops. I just wanted to know what was in the cloud.

TDAJ5

You can attach more than Zonai devices to her. I attach Captain Construct horns to her hands to make her more useful in a fight but yeah I never pilot her just let her do her own thing lol The first time I got hurt because she was damaged I never rode her again lol

trowgundam

She definitely is a bit lack luster. For wielding melee weapons, don't just press a button and wait. Kind of like the timing with a two handed weapon, you can alternate left and right to hit at constant rate. Also you can fuse things like Lynel horns by dropping them, which I find really helps her damage. At first I tried to stick to Zonai devices and the huge spike balls and fighting Silver enemies was just a slog. I gave her a Silver Lynel Saber horn on one hand and a Mace Horn on the other and the damage was way better. Even with that, I only bother using her to walk through a large section of gloom.

menofthesea

Never thought of this, I'll try it out. Maybe elemental gleeok horns? 🤔

Biscotcho_Gaming

I kinda like her tbh. But to be fair, I just got her and also just finished getting her stone. I was pretty hyped since I thought we could just put a bunch of zonite weps on her only to discover that we can only put on a max of 3. We cannot even put on combined ones. Sadness I still like her tho. It just looks so cool. I put a fan at the back just to make myself laugh at how goofy she runs with it turned on. Lol Her damage is not that bad also once you put a zonite part on her + frost emitter.

EvenSpoonier

The main uses I find for her are evading gloom or falling damage and setting up bullet time. The way you jump off the cobstruct essentially makes it portable high ground. It's not as smooth as jumping in low-gravity environments, but it makes a lot of fights a lot easier.

Bubthemighty

When are you supposed to get her? I found her before doing the phenomena so...

Thatthatboy

I am ok with it I usually just use a normal sword though

Poketrainer712

I beat a black hinox faster than ever on it

Hail-Megatron

I hope in the DLC you can upgrade her damage / defense or that of Zonai devices

Enough_Aside_4641

Nope! Not in the slightest. I had a bunch of fun using it and managing my battery. Getting creative with what part to fuse to which arm was fun. I just made a note to stay out of it’s way and we were good!

OrdinaryLurker4

Does anyone know if flux construct cores last longer than other monster parts when fused to her? I just fused a III core yesterday and don’t know for sure

Amelia1402

I’ve not used it since the mission I’m hoping there’s some bit of dlc to hopefully boost it, it’s too weak and slow

btsao1

Yea it's much easier to fight on ground with it being in auto pilot

TheKingOfSeagulls

I suggest attaching a fan on the back, for extra speed, then a frost emitter and a heavy duty weapon or material. It still can be slow and I often just use it for bullet time.

darkspd96

I was so excited to get it Me 2 min later:"this thing sucks, I'm going to die up here"
