I am unfamiliar with the software you are using, but according to their website changing the storage location should be fairly easy: [https://support.screencast-o-matic.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007459213-How-to-change-the-location-where-your-recordings-are-stored](https://support.screencast-o-matic.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007459213-How-to-change-the-location-where-your-recordings-are-stored) You may also want to flip through the settings to see if you can find some compression settings to minimize the video file size :-) Good luck.

For whatever reason, Screencast-O-Matic aka "SOM" (now rebranded as ScreenPal) uses massive (5 to 40 GB size) temporary files stored in a subfolder within your Windows user Documents folder. These stay around until you delete the recordings from the SOM app. The best method to manage disk utilization is to first export your SOM recordings to MP4 files then go back and delete the recordings from within the SOM app.

Just making sure I'm understanding (because I've had the same problem as OP, and don't want to accidentally delete all the recordings I've made): After I've exported the MP4 file that I want, I can go in and delete the folder Screencast-o-matic created for the recording on my computer? These folders include a subfolder called "data" which is full of files I don't understand that are .vc or .s, etc. and a link to open the recording on SOM. I'd love to just delete all these folders since they're taking up so much space! Just want to confirm it won't mess up the exported MP4s that I actually want.
