Uhhh, _everything?_ (gamingmodelinganimatingseedingdrawingserveretc)
I'm currently planning on buying some more HDD storage (4tb, 8tb) but man, those prices... Should I get a job?
Good luck trying to run any modern games on a hard drive then lol. And yeah a power supply never something to cheap out on or fuck around with. Seen a few posts on Reddit of people opening them and trying to fix them. To anyone wondering why that's bad, the capacitors inside can hold a pretty large charge and for a long time even when completely unplugged, it can be enough charge to actually kill you.
For games, the drive doesn’t matter as much as RAM, processor, and GPU.
For example, the old iPods can actually be used as an external hard drive (they have awfully slow drives), and someone tested running Doom Eternal installed on it. While it took longer to load initially, the game ran fine.
That’s why people still buy HDDs for game storage and use SSDs for the boot drive
Both. Crappy power supply is gonna melt your computer, crappy storage is gonna make u throw it from the window because it always takes 10 minutes to boot
NVME is just a faster connection protocol. SATA was made for HDDs then SSDs came along. SSDs can be read faster as just is the nature of the hardware, but since SATA wasn't made for SSDs, it bottlenecked them. NVME was made for SSDs. NVME SSDs are also cheaper too. The only reason I would buy a SATA SSD was if it was an upgrade for a very old PC that didn't have an NVME slot.
Bike, car, anything youll keep for over 5 - 10 years is worth spending more on, because if you take care of it, itll pay off by you not having to buy a new one
I enjoy my bike, it's actually quite perfect for my applications. An expensive bike might improve the experience a little bit but I'm fine with it as it is.
the line 6 amp is pretty good, if you play metal or rock i suggest you get a guitar from another brand rather than a squier or fender, something like a Jackson, Ibanez, even some Harley Benton that have active humbuckers.
I can 100% agree with this. I got some Sony XM5 headphones a year ago, and they sound so crisp and clear. The best part about them In my opinion is that they are extremely light, yet solid and well built, while being the most comfortable headphones I've owned. I don't think I'll need to buy headphones for a while. I definitely recommend buying higher quality headphones that will last years instead of buying more mid grade headphones every couple of years.
I feel I could say the same about the turtle beach recon 50x I use. Yes, it's flimsy. But it's comfortable, the sound is brilliant, it has stereo, a crisp mic, and it's SO CHEAP, 20 british pounds.
The cheapest gaming headset I could find serves me well, alhamdulillaah :D
A more expensive set might be built better and might have better sound (honestly idk if I'd notice), and might have wireless.
But at the end of the day if you take care of it you'll perhaps even not notice the difference
I might recommend that headset to my friend. He has a killer gaming setup with a great razor keyboard and mouse, as well as a really nice pc setup. But his headset, yeesh, it's a crappy one from temp that doesn't sit on your head right.
i had the same headphons for 6 years, they werent that much but theyre playstation branded and damn theyre good. only bad thing is i chewed the mic so much it doesnt work anymore
Absolutely. I got a really nice pair of steelseries headphones to replace my 15$ water sound speakers (they basically just shot water up in the tubes when something was loud) and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Which steelseries, I have the old arctis ones but they never make good enough seal on their own to make the bass sound good, I have to push them in to hear the bas the way it should be.
Arctic nova 7 I believe… the ear muffs felt a little weird at first but when I adjusted them in the right way they felt fine. They’re wired/wireless and I have wireless set up for it… and they have pretty decent connection quality too. Everyone has a differently shaped head though, so it may not be the right option for you.
Yess. In winter I bought the Beyerdynamic dt 700 pro x for gaming and music and it’s totally worth it. Their sound is very very good, they have very comfortable non leather over ear pieces with excellent noise cancellation. Best headphones I’ve ever had.
Socks 🧦. If you get the cheap ones, they tear open within days and I get scared cause feet fetishers are lurking all the time. Be cautious cause then ur feet will be uploaded on websites.
a good power supply for the pc
don't forget, the power supply is one of the worst things to save money on, maybe even the worst, don't get a Chinese 20 dollar power supply, that's how you fry your computer, short circuit them, and burn your house, get a nice, 80 plus rated, power supply, extra points if is fully modular, there are a lot of good companies that sell reliable power supplies with big warranties and for pretty cheap considering is a quality product
if u do want to cheap out on something, choose the motherboard since if the socket fits and has all the features you want, don't pay more for shit you won't use, and u can cheap out on the case to, you may not be able to get the newest coolest, trendiest case, but at least you are saving some money that can go to the Power supply, CPU, GPU or Storage
Yeah but paper and good supplies are very helpful.. I’m an artist and there’s some types of pens and paints that are just so much better than cheap stuff
Audio stuff, not at the crazy expensive level, Just don't be stingy.
For example for headphones even just some Hyperx Cloud II are actually good for the price (55€), i have some relatively unexpensive Sennheisers (160€) but even at lower price there's really good stuff.
At the opposite personally i don't find that picking up an S24 Ultra versus an old S22 or even a midrange device Is worth, i tried both the S24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro Max and none of them are worth the 4x increase in price. I'm fine with my Nothing Phone. Not like there's no difference, it's just that for me, and for the vast majority of people paying 4x as much doesn't give you a 4x better quality device.
Maybe i see a pattern here, don't really find worth to buy always the "nicer" thing, and at the same time i don't really find worth saving a little more buying lower tier things.
I'd say "It depends", in the majority of cases, especially if you're not an expert in matter, or just you don't need specific things you are fine with the mid-tier offerings. But i would say It depends from case to case.
Just use spicetify on your computer and an offline player on your phone. Then you can put the extra money into savings. It would add up quick. Especially at your age.
I have a different version of cracked spotify and my only issue is that I can't view artists profiles and recently I haven't been able to see lyrics but thats fine for now, I'll update it at some point d:
hey im u/TuNisiAa_UwU's alt, and I'd like to say that I wasn't offended by your comment until you added the disclaimer. Unfortunately for you, I am now offended.
I’m assuming it has to do with the fact you can’t pay an artist fairly with only add money or a few bucks a month when you may listen to 20 or 30 artists
Nah like spotify is a great app and well made but the free version is UNUSABLE on purpose and the paid one, while it used to be worth it, is climbing in price constantly because they know that subscribers can't stop
An actually educated craftsman. Don't know how well this applies outside of ig most of Europe. At least here in norway get a certified worker. I say this as someone doing a vocational school line, give me the money.
“Do I want to buy the cheap, floppy, and poorly colored HG, or do I want to go the extra mile and get the uber nice RG? With a full range of motion comparable to Jojo characters, full color separation, and a solid frame.”
Instruments you can hear a difference between a nice bass or guitar and a cheap one, you can hear the difference between a good trumpet and a bad trumpet it will make a difference
Backpack. If you walk around, or even take public transports a lot, having a comfortable backpack can make all the difference. I currently use the *ahem* _Decathlon Quechua NH Escape 500 Rolltop 32 L Backpack._ It's the only one wide enough to hold A3 sketching cardboard, while providing a decent harness at 50€ (It's 70€ online tho, bought it in store. How else do you think I knew it could fit in my cardboards?).
However, if it wasn't for the cardboards, I'd absolutely go for a hiking bag. A bit unsightly for city use, but man are they comfortable.
3D printer if you buy one. You can print stuff on a $180 Ender 3, but you’ll have to do lots of tuning. Get a newer Prusa or a BambuLabs, cuz they just work. They will be expensive, or at least cost more but you’d get more bang for your buck.
Shoes, anything that goes in your skin (makeup, sunscreen, lotions, etc), and food. Within reason of course. You probably don’t need 700$ shoes, but 100-200$ shoes will generally last a while and give you necessary support.
Imo, an Oculus Quest.
I currently am using up like 80% of my storage space on my 128GB Quest 2, which costed more than the 16GB one, but I would say it's totally worth it.
Grand pianos. My mom was thinking about getting a Essex by Steinway, but they are actually pieces of shit. My dad, for their anniversary, bought her a really nice 6 foot 1 yamaha grand piano.
Chips, the American and British kind (I'll use the other name to say which I mean), for fries you can spend a couple extra bucks to get better sauce, fries with spices, freshly cut fries, and usually it's not even that much more but the taste is a world of difference.
For chips the cheap ones are usually better anyways but if you find a good brand that's more expensive in my experience its so worth it.
Anything power related. Laptop chargers, iPhone cables, desktop computer power supplies, USB-C cables, power bricks, extension cords, power strips, etc.
120 volts or 240 volts can easily kill you, your devices, and burn down your house. DON'T cheap out, buy name brand and quality stuff. There is a reason they have all those safety certifications and the cheap ones don't.
Boots. Like its better spending 100$ on quality boots that will last for like seven years instead of some cheap 30$ garbage that starts falling apart after a year
Perfume. I don't like lataffa and Alhambre. I would recommend getting actual designer or niche fragrances.
If you want to smell like a king, you'll have to pay like a king
Phones, computers, TVs, etc. Cheap electronics won't last nearly as long as their higher end counterparts. You'll end up having to replace them more frequently which could actually cost more in the long run. Plus the quality difference is usually pretty big.
Not really the exact same but wii and getting a Wii U instead (also buying at least one wiimote) cause you get everything a wii does but it’s already more powerful so games that were hard to run on the wii run better and also you get way more games and a bunch of other stuff too without having to hack a wii
Pretty much everything is worth shelling out extra for unless it’s easily breakable like glass, boots, jackets, transport, etc will almost always be cheaper in the long run.
Since this is tagged nsfw, condoms too, once you get past the phase of playing keepy uppy in class you realise how shit the free ones really are

Computer storage. Get an nvme ssd, don't be stingy
NVME, gotcha. How many TB?
depends on what you want to do with the computer. For games i recommend a terabyte at minimum, 2tb is prefered
Uhhh, _everything?_ (gamingmodelinganimatingseedingdrawingserveretc) I'm currently planning on buying some more HDD storage (4tb, 8tb) but man, those prices... Should I get a job?
>Should I get a job? Yes..?
I mean, with univ already on my back
not really, but power supplies yes
Good luck trying to run any modern games on a hard drive then lol. And yeah a power supply never something to cheap out on or fuck around with. Seen a few posts on Reddit of people opening them and trying to fix them. To anyone wondering why that's bad, the capacitors inside can hold a pretty large charge and for a long time even when completely unplugged, it can be enough charge to actually kill you.
running games on harddrive isn't that bad, OS on the other hand is a different story
agree, same reason you dont try to fix microwaves
For games, the drive doesn’t matter as much as RAM, processor, and GPU. For example, the old iPods can actually be used as an external hard drive (they have awfully slow drives), and someone tested running Doom Eternal installed on it. While it took longer to load initially, the game ran fine. That’s why people still buy HDDs for game storage and use SSDs for the boot drive
r/unexpecteddankpods
I guess you havent used an hdd for your boot drive.
Both. Crappy power supply is gonna melt your computer, crappy storage is gonna make u throw it from the window because it always takes 10 minutes to boot
Yes really. Upgrading to an SSD literally fixed all of my laptop’s problems that it had for *years.* It was slow as fuck till I did that.
Why NVME over SATA?
NVME is just a faster connection protocol. SATA was made for HDDs then SSDs came along. SSDs can be read faster as just is the nature of the hardware, but since SATA wasn't made for SSDs, it bottlenecked them. NVME was made for SSDs. NVME SSDs are also cheaper too. The only reason I would buy a SATA SSD was if it was an upgrade for a very old PC that didn't have an NVME slot.
"The only reason I would buy a SATA SSD was if it was an upgrade for a very old PC" Or if all the nvme slots are taken up.
It’s mostly just worth it because it’s not a lot more than the alternative.
I burnt myself bad on that one. Yes I have more storage than I will ever need, but I spend an hour downloading 20 gigabyte
Your internet speed is the bottleneck, not your storage
Parents
Holdup u can buy new ones?!
Yeah the update just dropped a couple days ago
Damn where
Here's a video explaining how: [link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&ab_channel=RickAstley)
I’m not falling for a Rick roll nice try but no
don't comment that NOOOOOOOOOOO
Never gonna give you up x
Bike, car, anything youll keep for over 5 - 10 years is worth spending more on, because if you take care of it, itll pay off by you not having to buy a new one
I bought a used, rusty bike at a junkyard and after some wd-40 and cleaning, it runs perfectly fine.
You can also sleep on the ground, its good enough. But if you want to enjoy it get a matress. Thats expensive bike comparison
I enjoy my bike, it's actually quite perfect for my applications. An expensive bike might improve the experience a little bit but I'm fine with it as it is.
Guitar Amp Actually anything sound related
I use a cheap one. The second my teacher plugged me to a professional one i got blown away. I'm buying a new one in literal 2-3 days.
I envy you so much 😭😭
Dw. It's still gonna be bad, just gonna have bulit im reverb and delay And slightly better than the Chinese one
Mine sucks in every way I can think of :((
But what if you can't afford one? I can't really get much better than a squier strat with a line 6 spider iii 15 amp and a zoom g1xon pedal
the line 6 amp is pretty good, if you play metal or rock i suggest you get a guitar from another brand rather than a squier or fender, something like a Jackson, Ibanez, even some Harley Benton that have active humbuckers.
Thanks for the advice. I do really like to play metal and I'm thinking about saving some money for an ibanez
make sure the pickups are humbuckers because those are the best for that distorted tone you might look for
I'll make sure to look for that
Pretty true, but always remember to try the amp with headphones, as it can sound much better with them.
Wich one do you have? I have a katana boss
i literally have the cheapest worst amp ever to exist (Harley Benton) Hoping to get a better one as soon as i start working
Headphones
This is so true
I can 100% agree with this. I got some Sony XM5 headphones a year ago, and they sound so crisp and clear. The best part about them In my opinion is that they are extremely light, yet solid and well built, while being the most comfortable headphones I've owned. I don't think I'll need to buy headphones for a while. I definitely recommend buying higher quality headphones that will last years instead of buying more mid grade headphones every couple of years.
I have a vast collection of audio equipment and its the best investment ever
I feel I could say the same about the turtle beach recon 50x I use. Yes, it's flimsy. But it's comfortable, the sound is brilliant, it has stereo, a crisp mic, and it's SO CHEAP, 20 british pounds. The cheapest gaming headset I could find serves me well, alhamdulillaah :D A more expensive set might be built better and might have better sound (honestly idk if I'd notice), and might have wireless. Cool, thanks!
Anything sound related tbh
Yess. In winter I bought the Beyerdynamic dt 700 pro x for gaming and music and it’s totally worth it. Their sound is very very good, they have very comfortable non leather over ear pieces with excellent noise cancellation. Best headphones I’ve ever had.
Eh as long as they block out some noises I'll take what I can get
I'm used to cheap earbuds so i can live without.
Addressing the elephant in the room here, why is this tagged nsfw?
Because it can have NSFW stuff
I'm not sure why teens are experienced with sex toys, but sure, why not
Uh, yk teens buy sex toys too, right?
Man how am I still a virgin
cause you havent had sex prob
Shit I never realised this!
Oh boy you have no idea about the ppl in this sub. There are legit 13-year-olds in here talking about the sex they had.
I knew they are some early coming of age, so to speak, but man that's crazy. Are these good or bad experiences?
Mostly just bragging but there are some bad experiences as well. You find some pretty interesting posts if you scroll down a bit.
imma do just that
Dildos idk
Understandable, have a great day
or more importantly, why was it removed?
It's still there tho EDIT: Oh, the post's not here. Tag's still here xd

Yeah , also get extra ram if you can handle itz it's really cheap actually

Most art supplies
No, you're incorrect. A good artist can use dollar store art supplies and create a masterpiece. It's all in the skill of the artist.
Yeah but paper and good supplies are very helpful.. I’m an artist and there’s some types of pens and paints that are just so much better than cheap stuff
Like anything colour related (marker, pencil, aquarelle...)
True.

Now the price raised a bit to 59,97€, but i swear that i saw them at 55 bucks with my eyes https://imgur.com/a/jUIKUAd
