Can't wait to see how radicalised Cheerful Charlie will become this season.
1st Season: Encourages Jeremy to stick with the rules because they are good for everyone.
2nd Season: Fuck the rules and the council, let me find some loopholes for Jeremy.
Charlie’s character arc has been fantastic. I have to assume there’s scripting around it, but I also feel like a lot of it is based on very real frustrations. It just seems so raw and realistic to me.
When Jeremy says "fucking fight them" about the council, and Charlie, despite basically agreeing with Jeremy, still trying to do it in the most legal means, was hilarious.
Ok. I will admit last year we were in the UK on a driving trip around the Cotswolds and had to stop at the farm store, on a Tuesday, with several hundred of our closest friends. The line was very long but everyone was friendly, buying snacks, etc. While we were in line the crew came through with Kaleb whose car stopped to allow a quick chat and photos. Really was fun though.
I'd argue his farming escapades have brought him down to earth significantly. He's still a cunt, but farming has shown he does have heart and the ability to change his world view when presented with how fucked everything really is in the real world. Seeing how the sausage is made does that to you.
I'd say the farming stuff is probably closer to what he is really like rather than the sort of overblown character he portrays on Top Gear or writing opinion pieces.
That's something I noticed in the first ever episode. He comes into this show with that over the top character, and everyone he deals with in the farming community has none of it so he very quickly starts being a bit more normal about everything.
Jeremy Clarkson is a genius and arguably one of the best presenters of all time. He certainly portrays the arsehole.
He turned top gear from a show from vest wearing weirdos to a global phenomenon.
He made a show about farming more popular and watchable than a Lord of the Rings TV show.
The hovercraft skit was 100% a clarkson and Richard gimmick.
JC: here is a short sighted idea to try
*has younger relatable cohost try it
*show fun "successful" idea
******short sighted problem happens*****
*do math*
JC: well that's not going to work.
Thinking about the Dam fiasco as well.
JC and young cohost go out to solve problem.
Complains about fixing problem but thinks they made progress.
Wise cohost shows up to explain that they actually created more problems.
Everybody loves a good villain but Jermey plays a fantastic heel. A character that’s easy to hate, fun to follow and watch, and great to shine off of. A perfect foil character that is exposing people to the interesting life of farming (even if it’s scripted).
He does the buffoon so well, and he's not afraid to be shown as such on screen on his own show. The whole cast of characters is just there to drag him through the shenanigans and his own dumb ideas and he's just so upfront about how pigheaded he can be.
I think he's an absolute prick but I'll watch him all day because he takes as much shite as he gives out.
What? I would absolutely hang out with him. Just would steer clear of any political or social issues, haha. He has rich person brain rot but he's still hilarious, and seems fun as hell to be around.
I'm interested if you think this because of how Jeremy Clarkson is in this show or the character of Jeremy Clarkson he played during the top gear days.
The man is a colossal prick but I’ll give him one thing, he’s shown what farming is like to millions who e never given it a thought. I live in a rural area and a lot of the local farmers, whilst agreeing he’s a total knob, are very pleased that he’s bought to public awareness how difficult farming can be
I don't like that the season is split but the season has been great so far. I think season 1 was my favourite.
I get that it's slightly dramatised but genuinely it was so git wrenching in parts.
Now just watch Amazon cancel it so they can find another 20 minutes of citadel. Does anyone else remember citadel? No? Thought so.
> I don't like that the season is split but the season has been great so far.
First time I've been thankful for a split season. I need a breather after Episode 4.
I’m going to guess the “they’re nice cows aren’t they?” abattoir guy won’t be making an appearance this time round. Can’t imagine Clarkson going back again after his trip there with the cows. It’s been interesting seeing him becoming a bit of a softie with the animals.
The guy is a millionaire and decides to farm rather than retire on some beach somewhere yet many haters here . I think it's you uninformed haters that are the real assholes . Couldn't make it a week out of mommy's basement let alone farm.
That's what gets me - he easily has enough money to never have to work another day in his life, yet he still makes the choice to take on a farm and work on a TV show about said farm.
Don't get me wrong - obviously he's getting paid for this, but the point is, he could very, very easily just say "actually nah sod it I'm going to go off and live on an island now".
I think people don't appreciate that enough with people like him - whatever you think of the man, he's clearly highly motivated and dedicated to what he does.
Are we on the same thread here? Everyone is loving the farmers.. only criticism is about Jeremy C being a cock sometimes (undeniably true)
As far as the money. One never has enough. Even if you earn millions, you will always want more. Especially when you actually enjoy your job, which Jeremy clearly does

Love how they opened the restaurant by giving two days notice right as the weekend was about to start
4th Season: Charlie moves to a cabin in the woods and starts sending extremely spicy packages to computer companies and small town councils
Wouldn’t be surprised if he dons khaki declares actual war on the council by the end of this season.

Jeremy Clarkson is an insufferable, arrogant, narrow minded prick yet he is so watchable.

I agree. He’s really made the issues about framing and the regulations, etc quite interesting. Of course Kaleb helps make the show.
Jeremy knows how to pick his co-hosts. Kaleb is Richard Charlie is James

Yeah I would never want to hang out with him, but watching him get frustrated over random stuff is pretty entertaining.

I hope that episode when he cut his finger on the mandolin was scripted/fake. Because it looked pretty real and really painful.
What? I would absolutely hang out with him. Just would steer clear of any political or social issues, haha. He has rich person brain rot but he's still hilarious, and seems fun as hell to be around.

It’s definitely done that. Grew up around farmers and knew it was hard, but he really brings that message home in a very direct way.

Since I was up until 6 am watching part 1 I have to agree with you there.
Sorry to break it to you but.... .... it's been canced....

He goes back to an Abattoir and a pig joke is made
And the cow tears have NOTHING on the pig tears Episode four sponsored by Kleenex

It’s almost like the host of the most popular fact-based tv show in the world knows what he’s doing.
And on that bombsell
What your telling me he isn't farming in the most economically sound way possible but trying to make a tv show about farming?!
What's the song playing in the first EP during the blackberry picker
The guy is a millionaire and decides to farm rather than retire on some beach somewhere yet many haters here . I think it's you uninformed haters that are the real assholes . Couldn't make it a week out of mommy's basement let alone farm.
literally nobody on this thread is "hating" or being asshole. stop projecting nonesense and stirring up shit when there isn't any.
You are being an asshole and hating on me now stop it.

I thought it’s a show about UFOs or pirate gold until I realized it’s a farming one.
