As a new tf2 player yourself. What got you into the game so late?

that’s a long-ish story. became obsessed with it in 7/8th grade, but was unable to play because i had no computer of my own. loved the characters and the lore. fell out of love with it at the beginning of freshman year in highschool, but got back into it by late sophomore year. my friend rigged it for me to play on nvidia. been a nonstop train ever since. now a junior in highschool

Kickass. Its a shame new players will never get to experience when valve treated this game well. The love and war update was a time to be alive playing tf2.

I first played the game in 2012 without having any clue what is this game so I have joined a random server and it turned out it was hosting a custom map.

The very first one I ever played doesn’t exist anymore. I think it was called Clockwork? Clocktower? I don’t know, since I was like ten at the time and I don’t think the scout update had even come out. My dad (Mint Condition, which is a name some of y’all may recognize) let me play a little bit and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Can't remember, been playing since 2017.

In offline practice mode, I picked Gorge, because it looked the prettiest out of the maps I'd scrolled through and I figured any map would be as good as any other. I picked Demoman (my line of reasoning being "My aim is going to suck, but grenades and bombs are about the furthest thing from precision weapons, so hopefully I'll be able to do SOMETHING") and wound up playing with the training bots for about four hours. First 'real' multiplayer map? I don't remember.

If I'm not mistaken, it was Dustbowl. But over time I developed a taste for Hightower, and I stuck to it and 2fort as personal favourites to this day (with the ocassional Harvest when I feel extra tryhard-y).

I remember playing on suijin during the heavy bot times, and I had no idea why the heavies were all on the point shooting me. I even tried using inviswatch (it didn’t work), good times, man.

Cp_dustbowl but my internet sucked so I played only with bots for a while till i got Starlink.
