This seems as terrifying as subnautica. I’ve tried to play the game but I end up only swimming during the day and actively avoiding areas I know have sea monsters in them. And yet? I’m still scared shitless playing it lol
Yeah dude, the reapers can set you pretty far back which makes it even scarier. Subnautica is one of the greatest adventure games of all time. It’s crazy it’s a hand made world to me, I guess it feels bigger than it is
The reapers scare the ever loving shit out of me LOL it’s an awesome game and the detail shows the hard work I’ll never deny that. I just want one gun Hahahaha
Played both SOT and Subnautica and also love this subreddit and here’s my take for those interested in these games:
Subnautica as I’m sure most of you know is an adventure/survival game that has Thalassophobia inducing moments the entire time you’re playing it. One of my favs and would recommend to anyone, amazing game to get baked and just be scared shitless giggling like a little girl when you hear a roar off in the distance.
Sea of Thieves is not nearly as Thalassophobia inducing as Subnautica but is still an amazing game. Don’t get me wrong, as you can see it has its moments, but besides the deep abyss you can see below you if you jump overboard it is rare that you ever catch glimpse of a megalodon or kraken from underwater. Still, it is probably my favorite game at the moment and is unbelivably fun to play with friends and looks BEAUTIFUL on the new consoles.
Except for when you're diving to salvage a wreckage and you bank on there being an air pocket in the boat but there isn't and on the panic swim back out you get attacked by a shark.
THAT can get pretty thalassaphobic pretty quick
If you have friends to play - It's a massive YES! It's one of the best co-op games right now and due to its service game policy & free upgrades it will be maintained for a unknown time.
When youre playing alone it depends what you're looking for? It has PvE and PVP parts and you will encounter both. It's a beautiful game that provides you with the whole palette of emotions. :)
YES!
Single-player and multiplayer are VASTLY different experiences though so try them both and figure out which you enjoy more.
Single-player piloting a small Sloop with headphones on and no distractions is probably one of the most delightful and simultaneously anxiety-inducing experiences you'll have in a game.
I did a similar think in subnautica. That shit is basically a horror game lol.
Definitely, what a great game though

Such a good game, especially with the lights off and good head phones on. Can only play it during the day though..
HAHAHA THE LIGHTS OFF AND HEADPHONES ON? Oh you’re brave. Holy shit I’d probably die of a heart attack.
Haha despite the scary moments the game is beautifully immersive
Light sync with hue sync or something similar takes it to another level as well
