I don't think he's an NPC and I'm not sure why people picked him for that theory. When Caine mentioned potential mix-ups, I think it was foreshadowing something that would happen later, not something that's already happened. And if it did already happen, he probably took care of it in his own special way (probably clearing the entire circus before anyone from the present cast showed up) and was just warning them about it so he doesn't have to do that again.
So Jax being a programmer irl and him picking that name makes more sense
Imagine that's how he got trapped in the digital circus realm by trying to hack into it but ended up getting transported into it instead. Or, perhaps he wanted to get transported into it, only to then realize that he can never leave
You are looking too deep into this. Jacks is a game. Jack is too basic and Jacks is just the game's name. So Goose probably chose Jax for those reasons

The part that really sells me on Jax being AI is how un relatable he is in how he disregards Pomnis life, and being an overall awful person, like he’s written to be an awful person. Or he’s a player character played by the real Jax who basically playing smaller GTA.
I doubt a (pretty cool) machine learning framework by google would have an influence on the show. Not to mention the last sentence is not a great comparison; “ai transforming to real person” doesn’t really compare to “framework that streamlines the development of artificial intelligences / makes linear algebra and calculus easier”
