Is the full video available? He grabbed the guitar as he was being pushed out the store so he wasn't really stealing it, just grabbing it to destroy it. Maybe he tried to play stairway to heaven?
>his Cars mini acoustic...
Me with the competing images of your kid. He's either busting out:
"Here in my car. I feel safest of all."
Or:
"Let the good times roll. Let them knock you around."
There is a full video- I've seen it but cannot find it. He was trying to steal any and everything, and started tearing stuff up. They got concerned he was gonna strike customers (and almost did) so they gave him the bums rush.
We don't have bums in our town, but if we did they'd be allowed to go at their own [pace](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/6f11acae-5296-464c-abf8-39a03f96cbeb)
I went to a music store last month because my gf is looking for a new violin and I played stairway to heaven on 8 different guitars.
There was only one employee and he was helping my gf but the look he gave me could have killed a person.
After that I noticed they had a bass guitar plugged into an amp so I picked it up and started playing seven nation army, he rushed over unplugged the amp and just gave me a glare.
Yea, there is security cameras footage [showing](https://youtu.be/Hu1LTaDgZ6A?si=n5TWGvMSDJwRc0TJ) him trying to put it in his pants. He was definitely trying to steal a guitar.
Edited: my apologies, this is not the same person, and a completely different story. What I shared happened in a Ontario canada . Not in New Mexico.
Saw a bunch of Macy's security folks getting into the business with five shoplifters. Grappling/trying to hold, grabbing back the merch. I think stores are fed up. Seems like the liability equation has shifted.
According to a couple comments (one saying they saw a longer video, the other saying they know one of the people involved), the tackle was preceded by the guy trying to attack either a customer or another associate (each said different things). He was apparently "twitching out" and bothering customers, was asked to leave, tried to take a swing at someone, then got jumped.
If your job fires you for protecting both your coworkers and customers from a tweaker then fuck 'em regardless. Don't let insurance companies dictate when you're allowed to be a good person.
Only for stopping shoplifters. If someone is being violent in the store, attacking employees and other customers where aggression towards the individual would be considered self defense, the same type of repercussions to the employee usually do not apply.
that's actually how you get fired because you opened the store to a lawsuit or risked your life for a $500 guitar, not that the owner care if you die but it's gonna cost more than 500 to deal with that shit.
I dont remember the gritty details, but essentially he had been sketching out and bothering other customers, was asked to leave, wound up swinging at another associate, and that's when the dude stepped in. Lotta people went to bat for him with GC corporate and he kept his job.
he kept his job? lmfao, i worked at GC during this and our district manager sent out a big email blast telling everyone to never do this and that this guy was fired for it. i guess it was just scare tactics
Ref to physical punishment....
For 28 years I was the Jail Administrator for a small County Jail. Had a guy in there in his late 30's who I had been dealing with since he was a kid, minor consumption, DUI, drive suspended, dope, fighting, domestic abuse, more serious drugs, probation violations, more drugs, more domestics.... Finally he started to get with the "hey I'm an adult now program" and had to serve a little time to finish up a couple things. He had to go to Dr. I took him. We get in the car and he said, those young kids in there are about to drive him nuts. I said, dude they are acting just like you and your buddies up to about 5 years ago.
He got real quiet, in a little bit he said, "what kept you guys from coming in a beating out asses?" I said, the rules, not that we all didn't think you all really needed it. He said, " I wish you had, I might have learned faster to get my act together."
So when the bad guys know they desperately need a ass whipping, they should be able to sign a release and take one instead of certain punishments. I know hard to do and keep it even and fair so we are stuck with what we have now. But I can dream.
While i agree, now "the bad guy" can sue. Probably not smart enough to, but they just opened up that can of worms for the entire corporation. The justice system is shit.
...it is and it isn't. Some of this is to prevent vigilante justice from becoming the norm. If someone steals, report them to the police and let them handle it. There's no reason to beat someone's ass for stealing insured property that will just be replaced. You're also risking your personal well being to help a corporation that will fire you in a minute for creating a lawsuit for them.
In this case it's pretty difficult because he was harassing other customers, but the first instinct should be to call the police to handle it while trying to deescalate, even if it is with a tweaker.
Because technically he didn't steal anything. So the cops won't even show up. Hell they might not show up if he *did* steal something. More trouble than chucking a guy
Not my finest moment but I got caught shoplifting (food) 20 years ago. A similar thing happened, was tackled to the ground but instead of throwing me out they detained me until the cops showed upĀ to arrest me. The oof was large that day.Ā
I can't mention that without also mentioning how much my life has transformed and turned around since then, to the point that I'm in the process of getting a pardon to help me erase that massive mistake of my youth from my record.Ā
Cops really donāt care about this stuff until itās felony level. He would have to steal 1k in equipment where I live. Another user said he had taken a swing at some employees which would mean assault/ other charges as well, so they probably couldāve called the cops. Then they would have to keep this guy contained until they got there, which is then a huge liability issue. Guitar center corporate would rather you let them go and give the footage to the police
Former guitar center employee
Hope none of these associates get charged with anything. Criminals seem to be able to sue people for injuring them while committing a crime and he was playing it up towards the end.
That's a disproven myth. Though you can sue for anything in the US, it's characterized as frivolous. You can basically be banned from suing people if you abuse it. And you're stuck with the legal fee's of both parties.
Disproven myth? Filing against frivolous suits is not cheap. The Judge doesn't go "this guy again", the system is too bogged for any personal recognition. Justice is for the rich.
I'm just waiting for a remix where at the end they make fun of him laying on the ground.
Like a trombone going *womp womp* or the classic "it was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up"
The shoe toss is perfection.
But while these sorts of videos are satisfying to watch, that employee is absolutely not paid enough to put himself at risk like that.
Oh man, the moment that guy went unconscious, it got illegal to throw him out on the curb. At that point they got the duty of care for the man and to contact police and EMS. If he dies out there, they'd be at fault. I know one can get mad, but there are limits to how far one can go.
Trying way too hard to get that manager spot. A guy trying to take something that would have no affect on your salary or position whatsoever and Guitar Center still donāt give a fuck about you. Lol damn. Way to go.
Iām no legal expert but the guy that held the other in the chokehold is probably going to face aggravated assault charges and donāt these places have insurance to cover theft? Seems very foolish

Somebody knows what NOT to do in a music store. š
Even playing the first note is dangerous
I usually just play that guitar solo, DJ Khalid did on Bob Marley's guitar.

Imagine mistaking DJ Khalid for a musician...
Well, It's not like he's named Guitar player Khalid.
Actually, the DJ is short for Djent, he just didn't know what to do when the two lowest strings are missing.
[here's the tablature incase anyone wants to learn this masterpiece](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uYmcvG2Hus)
[This is what DJ Khaled thought he sounded like.](https://youtu.be/X_7o9Xczd64?t=5)
Can he read or nah?
Bet no
I think about that shit all the time lmfao. I couldnāt believe my fucking eyes/ears.
There is a full video- I've seen it but cannot find it. He was trying to steal any and everything, and started tearing stuff up. They got concerned he was gonna strike customers (and almost did) so they gave him the bums rush.
Yeah, I must say that that was a text-book 'bum's rush' right there. Not often caught on video.
"We don't have Bums, Marge. But if we did, they wouldn't rush. They would be allowed to go at their own pace!" - Hank Scorpio
Yes Mr. Scorpion sir
We don't have bums in our town, but if we did they'd be allowed to go at their own [pace](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/6f11acae-5296-464c-abf8-39a03f96cbeb)
Either that or Smoke on the Water.
Dropped d smoke on the water š¤

I worked at Guitar Center many moons ago, and the number of times I heard the first four bars of that fuckinā songā¦
I went to a music store last month because my gf is looking for a new violin and I played stairway to heaven on 8 different guitars. There was only one employee and he was helping my gf but the look he gave me could have killed a person. Should have apologized, then played Smoke on the Water.
The GC I used to shop at had a sign over the guitars to not play the big three songs that people listed here haha
Wonderwall!
Or maybe wish you were here
Don't you tell me where to 0-3-5

āNever made it as a wise man. I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealingā āQuick choke him out!!ā
Why is this comment not getting all of the upvotes?

If you're gonna puke, puke into this.
Spew. I believe the verb you were looking for is spew.

Free Bird!
Ah, the "may I help you riff"
Not today my good man, Iām feelinā *saucy*.
He wanted to play highway to hell.

Thatās a different ā¦ country even, partner
Oh shit! Sorry it looked like the same dude. My apologies. Thank you for pointing that out.
Worst case Ontario kinda situation
Yeah I'm confused by the guitar slam, maybe he was trying to hurt him with it? Doesn't look like stealing
Stealing and destroying are just as bad. Both are an equal loss to a store.
The shoe at the end BAHAHAHAHA
![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI|downsized)
I'm still laughing from that ... Just perfect timing on it
haha
That was the best part but the tap out got me lolāing.
bro code yo
He was assed out!
Half killed.
Bro hit em with the "get out.... and stay out!"
And take your shoe with you!! Most likely so he had no excuse to go back in.
That made me lose it. Chefs kiss.
Absolutely chefās kiss
It reminded me of something that would happen in a Simpsons episode lol
Best part
That's how you get promoted to assistant manager
Itās assistant to the regional manager thank you very much
Classic
Go n get the guitar...
Is there an unexpectedtheoffice subreddit??

Probably fired, realistically. Massive, massive insurance liability.
Saw a bunch of Macy's security folks getting into the business with five shoplifters. Grappling/trying to hold, grabbing back the merch. I think stores are fed up. Seems like the liability equation has shifted.
Loss prevention and floor salesmen are 2 different jobs.
I feel like insurers have been calling the shots less and less in general
According to a couple comments (one saying they saw a longer video, the other saying they know one of the people involved), the tackle was preceded by the guy trying to attack either a customer or another associate (each said different things). Yeah that dude was definitely high
That's how you get canned.

MISTER Manager
To the
āpromoted to assistant managerā is a weird way to say given a handshake and told to sweep
Unfortunately thatās probably how you get fired
that's actually how you get fired because you opened the store to a lawsuit or risked your life for a $500 guitar, not that the owner care if you die but it's gonna cost more than 500 to deal with that shit.
I like how heās next to the ācurbside pick upā sign.
Someone just needed to stand it back up and tape a sign to it: >"Free White Dude. Slightly damaged. No returns. You haul."
CURBSIDE PICKUP HERE āCome get ya boy!!!ā
The best part!
It wasn't just the guitar, the guy took a swing at an associate. Source: I know the guy who tossed Shoeless Bob there.
Give your buddy a pat on the back for me
Fuck that buy him a nice Japanese whiskey for me
Maybe a brojob while you're at it.
Dammit I was literally about to say "Fuck that, give him a brojob for me"
Damn near threw him out like Uncle Phil throwing out Jazz.
Jazz only got more airtime 'cause he's more aerodynamic than Shoeless Bob here.
He had a blowout, hard to get it movin.
Al Bundy'd his ass
What happened earlier to even get to that point?
I dont remember the gritty details, but essentially he had been sketching out and bothering other customers, was asked to leave, wound up swinging at another associate, and that's when the dude stepped in. Lotta people went to bat for him with GC corporate and he kept his job.
I choose to believe this
Best possible ending if true. I believe it because it is a bright point on a dark day
he kept his job? lmfao, i worked at GC during this and our district manager sent out a big email blast telling everyone to never do this and that this guy was fired for it. i guess it was just scare tactics
I love this video so much. I hope they have the guitar in a frame somewhere in the store lol
Why let him go? Charge him, there's too much of this letting the bad guy go because he learnt his lesson.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Don't be a revenge-fueled idiot, looking for an excuse to beat someone.
Which part?
What, exactly, are we getting from our justice system that your see is working?
If the current system isn't working, vigilante justice is born.
So you're a fan of Rittenhouse, huh?
Trouble came to this worker and he stepped up. Rittenhouse went looking for trouble.
Because technically he didn't steal anything. So the cops won't even show up. Hell they might not show up if he *did* steal something. More trouble than chucking a guy
Not sure what country you live in but here in America we overcharge crimes. This was actually refreshing.

Definition of rock bottom getting carried out by your belt and collar Never actually saw this outside of cartoons until now
That is why I loved this so much. The tap out, the carry/ toss out of the store, then the shoe. It was so cartoonish
I'm just waiting for a remix where at the end they make fun of him laying on the ground. Like a trombone going *womp womp* or the classic "it was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up"
The SHOE
Who throws a shoe???
Honestly.
I'm glad they were able to wrestle that guitar away from him. He was playing with no sole.
This not a guitar center, itās a grappling center with guitars.
Dude literally tapped out! š š š
Jesus christ, I can smell the meth from Phoenix.
They have meth in Phoenix?
That may be the single funniest thing Iāve heard all month
The plume from the entire state of NM hangs over them.
That shoe would be on the roof.
He lost a shoe.... We just witnessed a murder
Yeah, but he got it back. So I guess that's resuscitation?
He redeemed his sole at the end, though.
At least try stealing a Martin
Iām floored he didnāt seem to be stealing a Gibson, or something valuable. That looked like an Epiphone, for the brief time it was in frame.
I work at Guitar center. We lock our Gibsons to the wall for that reason
I like that the guy tapped out like he was in a dojo or just fucking around with buddies.
Albuquerque
I would have sang "Exit light, enter night, take my hand, we're off to never never land." While putting him in that hold.
TIL it's not "exit light, enter light" š
That's what you get for playing Stairway to Heaven....
A gentle tap to his nuts and I bet he would have come back to life.
Was that the vocalist for disturbed? Hard times for everyone I guess.
At the end we saw his rendition of The Sound of Silence.
In fairness the employee let go of the chokehold when the dude tapped out, could have ended a lot worse if the employee was a dick.
Thatās what he gets for plying freebird
Youāve got to suffer if you want to play the blues.
Yes, but he was playing with no sole.
The shoe toss is perfection. But while these sorts of videos are satisfying to watch, that employee is absolutely not paid enough to put himself at risk like that.

Good to see men treading garbage like it should be.
Red Shirts always win
Guitar center don't take no shit.
Trying way too hard to get that manager spot. A guy trying to take something that would have no affect on your salary or position whatsoever and Guitar Center still donāt give a fuck about you. Lol damn. Way to go.
Man, they are serious about not playing Stairway to Heaven š
Definitely staged. No customer has ever gotten that many Guitar Center employees to pay attention to them.
Well that ended on a sour note...
Every time I see someone getting physically removed from a store, the phrase "And stay out of the Woolsworth!" comes to mind.
Is anyone else thinking that where slowly going back to Wild West times
Did we ever really leave?
š¤¦ The Store has to be careful of lawsuits, when the Employees put their hands on the People in the Store.
Keep lying there until the cops show up
FATALITY!
I particularly liked the way they used his head as a battering ram to open the door š¤£
Sure enough, an hour later, they got the call...
Bro got DJ Jazzy Jeff'd
Looks like creed in the last episode of the office lol
Tuned that guy up real good
My favorite restaurant Hot Pink
Acoustic version of Breaking the Law
One shoe off = halfway to death š
One foot in the grave.
Should I stay or should I go
Ah yes, make him leave Detroit Style!
They should cover him with that sign so customer don't see him
āRight by the belt, fuck that guy.ā š¤£
You could turn him on his back so you know he's breathing. Or not.
Looks like Modesto
In the comments there are lots of guesses. Where it is not is El Paso.
Damn.
Ezekiel tries to bag a guitar, GC puts smashed guitar back on rack as new with a minor bit of store rash. $10 off.
And they say that he lies there still, to this very day.
They so thirsty to play hero. *Relax* you're not at police academy; it's a guitar center.
Alice in Cuffs was hoping to start an acoustic set.
Dude that tackled him is going to be the one going to jail and the store is going to be sued
Iām no legal expert but the guy that held the other in the chokehold is probably going to face aggravated assault charges and donāt these places have insurance to cover theft? Seems very foolish

Should've been fired haha
