Yeah, he may be there for months. Ethanol burns at an even hotter temperature than gasoline, and part of the flames are invisible, so even the yellow glowing flames didn't show the true picture - the real fire is maybe neck-height.
Omg nooo why did you had to point that out?? Now i see it too! That must be so painful… a pain, i hope i won‘t ever experience.
So we‘re literally watching a man slowly painfully dying to fire, buring alive, but with funny music over it so we don‘t hear his screams as he regrets his decision to light up a cup (?) of vodka (?)? Seems fine with me
> with funny music over it so we don‘t hear his screams
To be fair a lot of security cameras don't have sound because a lot of places have wiretapping laws making audio recording illegal. Especially in elevators and more so in buildings like law firms where you might record something confidential or hotels with the sheer foot traffic they see and how common it is to idly chat in an elevator.
Yes, he put himself in an elevator oven, lit the ethanol, poured the flaming fuel evenly, turned himself around like a bbq spit and even kneeled to make sure the franks & beans were fully cooked. Thank God no one else was in there with his drunk stupid ass.
I would imagine the fire burned out much of the oxygen in that small space. He probably passed out and came through when the door opened providing air again. He would have suffocated to death if that elevator ride was much longer.
Those jackets release heaps of toxic fumes as they melt also. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the main cause of him losing consciousness in the first place.
Not really, it takes a relatively long time to suffocate and a tad bit longer would've actually been ideal. A few more seconds and the fire would've suffocated so he wouldn't be walking around looking like guy fieri
First time watching i skipped through the video and i skipped to the moment where he did the turn and in one second he had a black jacked next second after that magical princess cindarella turn he had a whole new fucking jacket with white dots on it?!
I got so confused because i didn‘t thought about the fact that fire would melt this kind of jacket and i was left wondering how and why he suddenly changed his jacket
Polyester and nylon are literally types of plastic so he's just covered in molten plastic. If you've ever melted a piece of plastic and pulled it apart and noticed it sort of looked like threads that's essentially what nylon/poly is. There's a reason they tell you not to wear specific types of fiber if you work/are working around fire, that stuff sticks to your skin like napalm and its even harder to get off when it hardens because it's essentially fused to your flesh.
jesus, this isnt even remotely funny, he probably got awful burns and may've died. sure, it was dumb, but not something to be posted with silly music on here.
At my dad’s work (machine shop) I would sometimes come on Saturdays and sweep the floor. The boss would come around and pay me 10 dollars for my work. I was about 10 years old. Then, one day, a 17 year old who was working there thought it would be a good idea to smoke in the cleaning room 🙄 Cleaning room as in isopropyl, that kind of stuff. I’m sure u can imagine 🔥 Anyway, he got everyone under 18 banned from working there officially or unofficially (he was fine btw). I never thought it was very fair! 😂
Passed out due to lack of oxygen, doors opened and oxygen rushed in waking him up. That hand looked painful at the end. I think it was covered in his melted jacket.
This moron is a survivor. That must have been insane, he was fighting for his fuckin life in an oven. He's dead if not for dumb luck and caveman survival instinct piloting his body like a Gundam
Old school best gore…. Homeboy died btw.
Edit.
The longer version of the video the elevetor opens and hese lying there. Someone does help him but if i remember correctly somehow his lungs got burnt and he died from complications about a week after.

Stupid but ultimately lucky man/boy child.Nothing will ever surprise me more than the total lack of joined up thinking by some members of our human race.
I saw a video the other day of an e-scooter catching fire in an Elevator...
Can't find it now, but if memory serves me, they look like the same kind of Elevator?
"Yk drinking alcohol is kinda boring, what I bring a lighter in...",said the man as he brought the lit lighter closer to his drink after which he was no more.
Posting from my boyfriends account - being close to a fire burning something that shouldn’t be burned, you can immediately feel it in your lungs. When our apartment caught fire and we woke up in the middle of the night, I immediately felt it in my lungs, my whole diaphragm basically hurt from breathing in the hot smoke, particularly after getting a lung full of steam. I’d be surprised if the fumes at that temp and distance didn’t cause permanent damage. If not the fumes from the alcohol, then the fumes from his burning *polyester* coat
I’ll bet there’s a WHOLE LOT of regret for that dumb decision while he’s lying in the burn unit.
Yeah, he may be there for months. Ethanol burns at an even hotter temperature than gasoline, and part of the flames are invisible, so even the yellow glowing flames didn't show the true picture - the real fire is maybe neck-height.
So he has/will have burns all over this body?

I think that was technically black parts of his jacket melted to his skin, not his skin itself actually turned black.
Agree
Yup, just napalm burning on his palms. No worries, walk it off. Certainly not as bad, but still fucking awful and probably requiring a graft.
This happened in Russia over a year ago. Apparently he lived with only 30% burn coverage. I'd like to know if he lost any limbs, though... Geeze.

Watch his hair change. Alcohol gets hot.
He will likely be burned over every part that wasn't directly covered by clothing.
Buttcrack... Fuck, watching him sit there even as the door was opened told me this man is hurting. Fuck.
He probably died. That was super bad burning.
Falls over from shock or being too drunk, right as the door opens? Fucking hell, this guys survival instincts are in the red.
Maybe lack of oxygen?
from the fumes
Can confirm, burning alcohol vapor produces sharp, singeing fumes.
also burning of the clothing all sucking away oxygen and pumping them fumes

Casually walks away with his legs on fire at the end. This is fine.
*laughs in 3rd degree burns*
3rd degree if he’s lucky.
liar liar pants on fire
The melting jacket gets me everytime.
How to turn an alcohol fire into a napalm fire: Exhibit A

Just for future reference, synthetic fibers turn into suran wrap when exposed to fire. Imagine molten plastic all over you and you can't get it off

I realized what was goin on but its still crazy
Hooo leeee shit! I actually feel bad!
A genuine meaning for pants on fire.
Yeah this guys a fuckin pathological liar for sure
New personal best for audible oh my gods.
At the end when he walked away with his legs burning up I legit went "oh my god liar liar pants on fire"
Darwin Award winner right here!

Or just lose your ability to reproduce, and considering it looks like he barbecued his frank and beans towards the end, he might still qualify.
At least he was thoughtful enough to take the fire with him when he left the elevator.
You know what they say, liar liar pants on fire.
Slow roasting his balls at the end was the hardest part to watch.
True that!
jesus, this isnt even remotely funny, he probably got awful burns and may've died. sure, it was dumb, but not something to be posted with silly music on here.
30% of body surface burnt, he survived.
good to know. Some comments scared me for sure. still morbid to me.
“I’m gonna wait until I’m in an elevator to light a highly flammable liquid, that way when it’s starts to catch fire I have no way to escape”
Must've been a wild party.. someone came in his hair
What did you learn?
Don’t play with fire in an elevator….
Is he okay
alive? probably yes. okay? probably no.
What the hell was he drinking? Napalm?
Bro got microwaved💀
Elevate your drinking experience
The next person to get in that elevator is going to see burn marks and blood everywhere and be like "wtf happened!"
Mf made a Molotov 💀
That went from bad to horrible in less than ten seconds.
At least he took the fire with him
This is hard to watch
Poor guy :(

Succeeded.
Tf was he even trying to do lol
Light his cigarette by first lighting his alcohol on fire. Oh my god holy balls wow.
The way the jacket started melting after seconds of the fire
The doctor said take two ass burns and call me in the morning
Why does this feel like something a Sim would do?
Passed out due to lack of oxygen, doors opened and oxygen rushed in waking him up. That hand looked painful at the end. I think it was covered in his melted jacket.

whats the white on him? Is it like a fire suppression system in the elevator?
It's the inside stuffing of his jacket (the outside has melted)
nope, his jacket is melting on him Imagine melted plastic on your skin you can’t get off and it’s smoldering hot basically napalm ig
I will not imagine that
Uhm I think both of these attempts were successful
He was successfully drunk and successfully played with fire, where's the failed attempt?
Old school best gore…. Homeboy died btw. Edit. The longer version of the video the elevetor opens and hese lying there. Someone does help him but if i remember correctly somehow his lungs got burnt and he died from complications about a week after.
Several others have said he survived with burns to 30% of his body.
I really hope that isn’t blood on the door at the end and it’s just melted polyester… Edit: he’s carrying a glass jar… I guess it was blood after all
Ohan, the Roger Allen Wade is just... Chef's kiss
Wow and perfect song for this situation
Am I the only one wondering wtf that shiit in his hair is!?
r/idiotswithlighters
Bro starting melting
He should have pressed all the buttons

His legs have to be so incredibly fucked up. Damn
good song choice
"You look hot in that jacket"
He'll remember this one.
Oh, you pepsi mothafuckaa 🎶
Stop drinking ... I think it's a problem
Stupid but ultimately lucky man/boy child.Nothing will ever surprise me more than the total lack of joined up thinking by some members of our human race.
“I love the smell of napalm in the morning”
Guy was drinking straight gas
What the hell is wrong with his head/hair??
So close yet so far from reality.
The doors opening again after trying to close probably saved his life.
The music LMAO
"Excuse me while i just burn alive"
Russia right?
My dude literally set his ass on fire
I saw a video the other day of an e-scooter catching fire in an Elevator... Can't find it now, but if memory serves me, they look like the same kind of Elevator?
He does this every damn time he has a few drinks on Saturday night
Russia? Yes, Russia.
Instant karma 🫣
Flammable drink and jacket what could go w
average day in russia
NSFW tag please This guy died also. Don’t find it funny tbh
His jacket became a part of his head And his hair literally turned red. Gingers have a soul
Must be in Russia.
r/idiotsnearlydying (apparently he survived woth 30 % burn coverage, source: trust me bro)
Imagine having to explain...
This was very dark and terrifying ngl
I don't see an attempt at being drunk. That was quite achieved IMO.
He was turning himself around like a marshmallow. Lmao
This happens to me every time I drink petrol.
He almost won the Darwin award. . .
How to get sober in 60 seconds
Wow
I mean he was successfully drunk and playing with fire so……
Alexa , play “ pardon me while I burst into flames .
That really awful wish I didn't watch
ok... play with fire then put yourself on an enclosed space, revert this guy back to a monke...
Connection terminated
Well done sir well done
Bro they literally said not to use the elevator in case of fire.
In his defense this whole thing was pretty much unavoidable.
"Yk drinking alcohol is kinda boring, what I bring a lighter in...",said the man as he brought the lit lighter closer to his drink after which he was no more.
Dude made his own Molotov cocktail
It was almost one of the stupidest ways to die.
Sounds like someone who'll quit smoking after this......

The mystery of spontaneous human combustion finally solved.
